Having had injuries, chronic illnesses can be tough.
My focus is to help you recover faster, and perform better an do this with the help of a science based approach to prehab, post injury recovery and performance testing.
The goal is to coach a long-term lifestyle change that prevents injury, teaches nutrition and training in a sustainable way.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been working with Michael for a while, but most recently and what I wanted to share is my experience now that I am 10 days post-hip replacement surgery. Michael met with me before the surgery and gave me all the questions I needed to go over with my surgeon, including movement, restrictions, PT and everything post surgery. This really helped create a useful conversation with the surgeon and for me to understand what recovery would look like. The surgery itself went really well, but I’ve had some nerve pain complications and some issues tolerating some of the pain medications. He’s been understanding and has modified the initial post surgery treatment plan to fit how I’m feeling real time. He has been excellent with empathy, helping me know what I can and shouldn’t be doing, and allowing me to recover in a way that I needed to… That is, not pushing the PT and movements that weren’t good for me at the time. He also knows when to step in and get your PT kick started with the perfect amount of encouragement. He’s helped several others rehab after joint replacement and their results regarding how quickly they are able to return to full movement is incredible. My journey will be different than theirs, and Michael is tailoring recovery to my situation, my pain levels, my abilities. He cares about his clients and it shows. I highly recommend him for anyone dealing with a joint replacement and please engage him well before surgery because he will start physically training you in a way that will help you recover better even before you go in for the procedure. And you will know what questions to ask your surgeon and what to expect in recovery. He’s the BEST!!!

Fantastic experience: My name is Shelly, and I’m 61 years old. I’ve been training with Anton twice a week since January, and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health. I came to Anton with severe arthritis in my knee, which made movement painful and limited. I needed someone who would not only understand my limitations but also create a workout plan that kept me safe while still helping me get stronger. Anton has done exactly that. He genuinely cares about his clients—he always checks in to make sure my knee is stable and makes adjustments to the workouts if needed, but never lets me off the hook when it comes to getting the work done. Fantastic experience: Kathleen -60 years old I cannot recommend Anton Thompson enough! I've been training with him for a year now, participating in two 30-minute weight training sessions each week, and the results have been nothing short of amazing. I recently lost 50+ pounds, but it wasn’t until I added weight training that I truly saw my body transform. When I started with Anton, I had three goals: 1) get stronger, 2) reduce back and hip pain that I had been dealing with for years, which I had just assumed was arthritis, and 3) embrace my 60th birthday as a new person filled with confidence and a smaller waist. Fantastic experience: I have been training with Anton for 4 months now, 30 minute sessions twice a week. I’m 39 years old, and before starting with Anton, I had been lifting on my own for a year. But my progress had stalled, despite pushing myself harder and harder. I was getting burned out, and I was also starting to get worried about injury. My main goals with training were to get feedback on and improve my technique, especially with squats, deadlifts, and bench press, and to get on a solid plan. Anton has been amazing! I have been blown away how much faster I’m progressing, even though I’m spending less time in the gym. The 30-min sessions are extremely efficient, and everything is really well structured so I’m hitting new strength PRs regularly without being sore and tired all the time. I feel so much more secure in the lifts, and feel like I’m on a great plan to keep getting stronger, safely.

Fantastic experience: My name is Karl and I'm a month shy of 66. I began training twice a week with Anton just over 1 year ago because I knew I needed to strength train but lacked the discipline to do it consistently on my own. My overall strength and flexibility has improved significantly from where I started. Anton is attentive to what you say and pushes you in a safe and productive manner. I play ice hockey and I firmly believe the training has improved my stamina while playing and prevented injury. Now if he could figure out a way for me to score more goals!
Hey Karl, it’s been amazing having you in the studio! Your progress over the past year has been incredible—your strength, flexibility, and stamina on the ice are a real testament to the consistency and hard work you’ve put in. You’ve shown that discipline isn’t about doing it alone, but about showing up and putting in the effort week after week.
As for scoring more goals—well, I’ll keep working on building your power, but for accuracy you might need to bribe the goalie or upgrade your stick! Either way, we’ll keep training you to skate circles around the competition.
Fantastic experience: I have been working out with Anton for over a year. I started right after I finished Physical Therapy for a total knee replacement and a fractured shoulder. Anton continued my physical therapy type workout until I was totally healed and ready for a more rigorous workout. Fantastic experience: I am 69 years old. I recovered from the effects of encephalitis incurred about 5 years ago. It left me with some balance issues, leg pain, weak strength, and neuropathy in my legs. Over a year ago I started with Anton as almost a final alternative. Anton has come up with a program that has had significant improvement in all areas. Now I am hooked. I go in three times a week for 45 minute sessions. Anton is a great guy to work with, won’t let you slack, yet makes the workout just slip by despite the effort you put in for him.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to see Michael for 2 years now and have seen way more changes in my body than I ever did doing fad workouts or group class workouts or any workout that felt like a trend that was going to make me fitter, I felt Michael has always listened to me and what I was looking to accomplish, which has helped me become better about my body and what is best for me not what’s trending or what everyone else is doing. Fantastic experience: **Update 8/13/25: I'm still working with Michael! We have had an epic year together. I'm 50 years old, and decided to celebrate that milestone by training to complete the full Murph Crossfit workout (1 mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, and another 1 mile run). It was intense! I thought after 3 decades of strength training I had seen it all, but Michael put together creative and effective training plans that were specifically customized to help me complete the Murph strong and injury-free. I accomplished my goal in May! I'm fitter and stronger than I thought possible, thanks to encouragement and programming from Michael. I've been working with Michael for over a year now, and it's been a great experience. I had been a "recreational athlete" for decades and thought I was already pretty strong and fit. But I had never done a formal strength training program before, and after turning 40 decided I would give it a try. Michael came recommended by a friend, and he has been a patient and knowledgeable guide. After working with him I'm stronger than ever, which is also helping me improve in my other athletic activities. Michael has consistently listened to my questions and concerns, and provided good advice as my fitness needs changed. I highly recommend him as a trainer to anyone looking to improve their health and well being.

Fantastic experience: I have been training with Anton weekly for about 1.5 years. I am an active 34-year old female, but was always intimidated by weightlifting. I had been looking to get stronger and to find an accessible, safe way to start lifting weights. Additionally, I was having knee pain from an old running injury. Fantastic experience: My name is Christine, 53 years old. I’ve worked out on and off throughout my life until Covid hit. Fantastic experience: Anton is amazing. He is able to quickly plan and modify my workouts based on what other demands life brings my way. As a Chiropractor and Massage Therapist, I am happy to have a local trainer who I trust with my patients. He is knowledgeable about injuries and will not accept poor form. With years of experience, Anton understands that exercise geared towards longevity over ego lifting is the way to go.

Fantastic experience: Anton is an exceptional trainer. He assesses your body type and develops a custom training program. If changes are required he easily modifies the program. Form is very important and he ensures the exercises are done correctly. I highly recommend Anton.

Fantastic experience: I've been working with Michael at Shape Up for roughly a year and a half and I can't speak highly enough of my experience. When I came to him I was still dealing with pain from a shoulder surgery, I hadn't regularly worked out in over a year, and I had some bad habits from my time in the Army. From the start I was impressed. He took great care to remind me that doing things properly and painlessly was the goal, regardless of how much (or how little) weight was being moved. The workout plan during our sessions and outside of them has allowed me to be far more consistent and make the most of my schedule. His studio is outstanding, and the constant addition of new equipment and tools to help his clients always impresses me. Fantastic experience: One year ago I searched several places to get my first trainer. I chose Michael. Not only is he reasonably priced, but he quickly understood my desire for help to train "properly" being 50+. He didn't force anything I wasn't ready for, but encouraged strength training and better nutrition...and gave me all the tools I need to be successful. Most impressively, his accountability approach was consistent and gentle. Michael even stepped in to coach me to be a better runner because "NO ONE TEACHES RUNNING to OLD PEOPLE like ME!" In one year, I can safely say that I dropped 40 pounds and I do not look like a Pez dispenser. I look and feel more athletic! The personal touch and customized training plan that Michael provides is EXACTLY what I needed. He has even offered great advice to my 21 year old unathletic daughter in ways to improve her physical fitness. Last, he is more than a personal trainer. Our conversations about the world, theology, parenting, etc. are insightful and he NEVER pushes his beliefs on anyone. It is truly a joy to see him, my friend, twice a week. I literally HATE to miss even one. In short, Michael provides top notch PERSONAL service to fit who you are, where you are, and is encouraging and wise to help you reach your goals. My next goal is a Spartan Race in 5 months with my 19 year old athlete son, and I want to beat him!! I am confident Michael will get me there.

Fantastic experience: I am a cancer patient and starting working with Michael 3 months ago. He not only understood my treatment, but designed a program specifically to help me gain strength and endurance. I can say that after 3 months of working with Michael 2 days a week, that my strength is now beyond what I experienced pre-cancer. Fantastic experience: I have been going to Shape Up for about a year. Started going to Michael due to an old back injury that was preventing me from getting through a run without discomfort and pain. After a few months with Michael, I had strength in my back and was seeing great progress in getting back to where I could run again. I also do a self-defense class on a regular basis and Michael is able to tailor my workout plan to help improve my performance in my self-defense class while continuing to strengthen my back. I highly recommend for anyone dealing with an old injury or just trying to get back in shape.

Fantastic experience: My name is Tamara Milliken - why my husband's name shows up I have no clue! I wrote a review 8 years ago and would like to update my experience. Training with Michael since 2013 has had a few "bumps" in the road. After my initial knee surgery, when I started training with Michael, I had a second knee surgery, then replacement and in 2020 both hips were replaced. Each time Michael was able to get me back to doing what I love, which is running. It was neither fun, nor easy, but Michael makes sure that he understands your goals and works with you to ensure you can achieve those goals. Michael, because he knew my capabilities was able to get be back "up and running" much quicker than a physical therapist. He has a full grasp of the capabilities of the human body. He changes training plans on a regular basis and sometimes "on the fly" based on health conditions. Additionally, he continues to expand his knowledge to ensure the success of his clients. He completes full testing of your capabilities and designs programs to allow progression. He is definitely with you every step of the way.

Fantastic experience: Michael is excellent. Knows what he's doing. I have worked with Michael for 14 years. He's become one of my best friends as well as an excellent trainer. At 73 I have few physical limitations. I attribute that to him. Beyond training, he goes the extra mile to help whenever I need him. I've observed him do the same for many others. We talk about everything. We have very candid discussions about politics, race, society, money, etc. We don't always agree but he is always respectful. His clients are very diverse and he makes every effort to make us feel comfortable and valued. I highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: Working with Michael for more than a year now has been a great privilege; finding him just before the pandemic was life-saving for my physical and mental health! Fantastic experience: Can’t say enough positive things about my experience (2+ years) at Shape Up and it’s owner, Michael. I struggled to find a way to keep consistent workouts - every gym I belonged to was packed whenever I wanted to work out or was lacking equipment or just felt generally uncomfortable. Goes without saying that I am/was a gym novice... for those looking for a change and the motivation to do so, this is your spot. Michael creates customized workout plans and even can help with your nutrition. His experience and knowledge is unrivaled and he knows how to motivate you without being a drill sargent. He took extra precautions during Covid this year that ensured safety for his clients and all sessions are 1:1. You will get results, and quickly. I had a lingering shoulder injury for years that he helped me correct and am back to 100% - I could not have done that on my own; I was only making it worse. I’m not getting any benefit out of posting this review I’m just being honest about my experience. I am in the best shape of my life.

Fantastic experience: Michael started me in his program a little over a year ago. He was very patient and motivating throughout the program. I started when I weighed over 230 lbs, and now I weigh 198 lbs. in addition I am able to maintain this weight and not put it back on. Michael gave me the resources to understand this is a lifestyle change not a diet. It is also not a quick fix, but a life commitment. Besides dropping pounds and fitting back in to my clothes, this process enabled me to stop taking my blood pressure medicine (with my doctors ok) after 15 years of being on it. My health and physical appearance has improved greatly. I still have more to do and thanks to his program I have the support, motivation and foundation I need to reach my goal. Fantastic experience: Michael’s program has been extremely beneficial in helping me make the lifestyle changes necessary to be the best version of myself. It has helped me learn how to maintain a healthy lifestyle that is sustainable with my busy schedule and being a single dad. I like how his program is easy to follow- the app integration is great for doing workouts at home. Fantastic experience: This was our first experience paying for personal training. This type of training is not cheap (although ShapeUp does offer some good discounts if you come with a partner or sign up for longterm), but Michael does help make you feel it is worth it. (Pricing is upfront on his website, which is nice.) Outside of the actual in-person workout sessions, Michael facetimed with us about our diet and kept up with us via email/messages. There is also an app to help keep you on track. Michael will push you physically during your training sessions, but will keep the mood lighthearted and enjoyable. He is good at reading his clients and I think he knew my wife and I would respond better to positive reinforcement rather than some sort of in-your-face trainer. We really appreciated the time we had with Michael and expect to be back once our budget allows. I also liked how his location is near a grocery store - to help keep that positive momentum right after the workout. I definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: If you are looking to get in shape, need focused attention, and working through some old injuries, look no further. This place has amazing staff and a positive atmosphere to really focus on you. I've been struggling with a pretty bad hip injury from over fifteen years ago. I tried my best working around my injury, but as it got worse, the workouts I can do were limited... Or so I thought. I found Michael and worked with him for about six months. He tailored the workouts to strengthen the areas surrounding my injury. Once we achieved that, we moved on to strengthening everything else and now I feel great! I am in a great shape thanks to Michael. Not only is he hilarious, but he knows his stuff. I would wholeheartedly recommend him. It's a shame I had to move out of state.

Fantastic experience: I've been training with Margo for about 8 or 9 months now and I have nothing but good things to say about her and Shape Up. Before coming to Shape Up I had no idea how to properly work out so I would never see results and get discouraged and give up. I immediately clicked with Margo and she's taught me so much while being very motivating and encouraging. I never thought I would get excited about working out but I look forward to my sessions with her. Michael has also been great by helping me get my nutrition on track and pushing me further while being an all around positive and funny guy. Since I got engaged a couple months after I started with Margo, she has been very committed to getting me in the best shape for my wedding and it's great to finally see results and feel good about myself. Fantastic experience: I have really enjoyed my time with Shape Up Fitness. I have been training with Troy since September 2014 and would continue my training except I am leaving the state for a new job. The trainers are all really friendly. Troy taught me a lot about lifting weights and has really helped with making me much stronger over the past few months. Michael, the owner, is wonderful, he is always willing to help in any way. Nutrition was my biggest hurdle and Michael was always offering consultations so I could get started on better path to eating healthy. I have been a member for almost 2 years now and my results are better than any other gym, diet, or training program out there. The trainers at Shape Up make working out FUN (which I didn't think was possible) by creating a custom program just for you focused around the goals you want to reach. They are very knowledgable about all levels of health and fitness but more importantly, they add personal service so you don't feel like just "another client". Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of having Jason and Margo as my trainers at Shape Up Fitness. However, the owner, Michael Anders, and the entire staff their became my gym family and my home away from home. Everyone there motivated me to reach my goals along with giving me great advice. I also enjoyed working out alongside many other people training and seeing their progress. The staff is incredibly knowledgable and do a full wellness consultation before setting up a program for you. I received many nutritional tips that helped me gain muscle and increase my protein. I also appreciated how flexible they were with my schedule. I definitely will miss them but hope to return in the future!
Fantastic experience: I have been training with Michael for over 4 years now. He has helped me to achieve a level of fitness that I haven't seen since my college soccer days. Thanks to his preparation training schedule, I was recently on a team that won the US Veterans Cup, a national soccer tournament for Men in the over 55 age division. I play in Charlotte in a much younger age group, and am able to remain competitive, and with fewer injuries because of the strength and stamina that I have gained through his workouts. Fantastic experience: Shape Up Fitness is a great place to work out and get in shape! They have a variety of equipment and machinery, so work outs are always fresh and interesting. The trainers are all very approachable and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is friendly and focused at the same time. You get one on one attention in your work outs, but also feel a sense of community with the other members of the gym (minus any weird competitiveness). I highly recommend this gym for people of any level - I started out completely out of shape, but there are also seasoned athletes who train there regularly. Fantastic experience: My experience with Shape Up has been incredible. When I made the decision to search for a personal trainer I had very specific standards that I was looking for. Being involved in a severe motorcycle accident 4 years ago, my doctors told me I was never allowed to play sports again or even jog or run. I was determined to get back into the shape that I was before but I was unwilling to put myself in the hands of someone who had very little education and may or may not fully understand the anatomy and physiology of the human body. My first priority was then the education level of the trainers. After several searches that provided some OK results I came across Shape Up. The website provided in depth descriptions of all of the trainers they had available, and I was very impressed that all of them had higher levels of education than most of the other training facilities available. The next step was simple and the process of getting in for a consult was quick and painless. The owner was professional and intelligent, and most of all sympathetic about my specific restrictions. After a very short time with my trainer I felt like this was a home away from home. Every trainer and every client like myself that I came across were always so friendly and encouraging. As far as my training goes I am beyond impressed with the level of fitness I have been able to achieve when I was afraid I would never be able to work out again. I owe this 100% to my trainer and his vast knowledge of my case specifically and the exercises to yield the greatest benefit to me as well as the exercises to stay away from to avoid injury. I will NEVER go anywhere else and I encourage anyone who has any doubt to visit them because you will not be disappointed!

I really liked how it was a friendly environment. it was an escape from the day to just workout. Fantastic experience: Wow. Where to start? Well, in my opinion you should start here, at Shape-Up Fitness. Visiting Charlotte for an extended business trip I decided to use some of my personal time to also focus on changing some things about myself I didn't like. I spent over half my time in Charlotte searching for a trainer who had both experience and education. At Shape-Up I found both. After email exchanges with Michael (Owner) I felt like this was where I needed to be. I scheduled my consultation appointment and the rest is history. In addition to Michael, there are several phenomenal trainers on his team and Michael puts you with just the right trainer to motivate you to achieve your goals. My trainer is Caleb Allen. Caleb may be young in years...and sometimes it was annoying (in a good way!!) - but he definitely is not young on knowledge. He has years of fitness experience and backs it up with a degree in sports medicine. I was impressed how his educational background helps him understand how the body works so the exercise routines help you maximize your results! The fact he is pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy demonstrates his passion for what he does! I saw results within the first week and that only fueled my desire to stay on track and keep coming back to Shape-Up and to train with Caleb. Sadly, it's time I return home to Alabama, but I will always be grateful for the journey I began here. These are just good people who live a passion for helping others. They are simply the best!

Fantastic experience: The Search: During the summer of 2012, my health needed a change. After searching for personal trainers in the Park Road/Woodlawn area, and reading all the information and reviews, I reached out to Michael Anders of ShapeUp Fitness. The Initial Meeting: Once the day and time were set, I met with Jennifer. Our initial meeting involved my goals and current health concerns. I had a picture of what body I wanted to achieve and Jennifer was great about what it would take to get from where I was to where I wanted to be - setting realistic expectations. My Experience: Working with Jennifer has been great. She demonstrates the exercises before having me perform them and is very aware of wrong form. She has a gentle but firm manner. If something about the way I move does not look right, she will question it - and make any adjustments or changes. And, I have to admit, if I complain about a particular exercise (BURPEES!!) enough, she will drop it from the routine. The other aspect I like is that the routines change frequently. It helps me to keep from getting bored and in a rut. Of course, Jennifer has such an incredible personality it would be impossible to get in a rut with her! She is so much fun it is worth the effort get up in the morning to go to see her...even if she does work me hard! I have been working with Jennifer for 11 months. In that time, I have experienced the following: Leg ext: 40% improvement Deadlift: 80% improvement Squat: 85% improvement Leg press: 80% improvement Chest press: 40% improvement Lat pull: 30% improvement Overhead press: 50% improvement Chest fly: 50% improvement Chin up: 50% improvement Front raise & side raise (shoulder strength): 50% improvement Reverse fly: 50% improvement Plank (core strength): 100% improvement Overall, it has been a rewarding experience and I am very pleased with my results. Now...if I could only get my eating habits under control...LOL! The Environment: There are three areas within the facility. The main area, with the majority of the equipment, can look crowded but it all works. One of the areas has a bathroom with shower facility so if you need to run off to the office (or a hot date) after a workout you do not have to go home first. The trainers work so well together it is hard to imagine they did not all grow up together or go through school together. I like that they learn from each other and bounce ideas off each other. The other clients who are there while I am are super friendly - it can be rather boring if one or two are not able to make it. All have different reasons for being there and it feels like an extend family. Recommendation: Without hesitation I would recommend ShapUp Fitness and Jennifer. Even though I have not worked directly with the other trainers, I would have no hesitation working with any of them. The atmosphere, camaraderie, expertise, and for me, results, make my recommendation easy to give.
Fantastic experience: I have trouble staying motivated to work out by myself, so I came to Shape Up Fitness to get some guidance on how to keep myself fit. Fantastic experience: I found Shape Up Fitness via a google search online about 2 months ago. I was searching for a breakthrough solution towards my own fitness goals...because I was frustrated that my run/go to the gym/try all kinds of fitness classes routine wasn't helping me lose the weight I wanted to lose, tone the areas I wanted to tone, and feel like I did in my 20s, walking around in my favorite white pants! I'd worked with professional trainers previously, but didn't find that they helped me achieve significant results, and was mostly frustrated at having to pay someone to do what I thought I could figure out on my own. Enter Michael (Owner) and Valarie (Trainer) at Shape Up Fitness. As they walked me through their program, I believed they earnestly wanted to help me accomplish my goals, and Valarie even helped me further refine what I wanted to achieve. In addition to creating a personal schedule and workout program that accomodated my crazy travel and work hours, Valarie also held me accountable for an eating plan in line with my goals. The entire staff at Shape Up is encouraging and professional, and I get the sense that they challenge each other to be better at their jobs. The other clients are supportive, and actually end up making me work harder, because I can see the results they're gaining. So far, in 2 months' time, I'm within 3 lbs of my target weight, lost more than 5% body fat, have muscle definition where I've never thought possible, and can, yes, once again, fit into my favorite little white jeans! I highly recommend this team to anyone wanting actual results against his or her physical fitness goals. You'll enjoy the results, and you'll enjoy the people who will help get you there.
Fantastic experience: Needed help in returning to my old form after knee surgery. What I didn't realize is that I would end up better than I was. Michael's first step is to understand your goals. He then customizes a program to ensure those goals are met. Michael is an excellent motivator, has a wealth of knowledge and teaches as he trains. It is that teaching that allows his clients to continue to progress on off-days. You couldn't ask for a better atmosphere -- from the trainers to other clients, everyone is friendly and helpful. Fantastic experience: The staff at Shape Up are professional, knowledgable, and they provide the individual fitness regimen that I've been looking for. I've been working out with Michael at Shape Up since 2007. Since then I have achieved many athletic goals, including a 5-mile ocean swim and a half Ironman triathlon. Michael helped me stay fit and focused through my pregnancy, and helped me lose the pregnancy weight in a safe and encouraging environment after my son's birth. Just like most people, I've had periods where I was discouraged, frustrated, unmotivated, and even injured. Through it all, Michael helped me keep my chin up and he always has helped me get back on track after these tough periods. All the trainers at Shape Up are kind, helpful, supportive, and encouraging! I love working out at their studio and I'd recommend them to anyone!
Fantastic experience: I came to Shape Up in an effort to get my back stronger after having a partial lumber discectomy. I’ve always worked out but after my surgery, I just couldn’t quite get to where I needed to be to even think about doing a full workout. I’ve been working with Caleb now for a couple months and am already seeing positive results. My back is getting stronger and I’m amazed at some of the exercises I’m now able to do. I’ve had trainers in the past but Caleb by far is the best, he is an excellent trainer, his knowledge, technique and skill level is spot on and my workout is never boring. Thanks to Caleb, I’m getting my confidence back and feel like I can try almost anything and I’m not so worried anymore about hurting my back. This is truly the best gym I’ve been to, I’m always looking forward to my next visit, for a workout that counts.

I could do cardio completely on my own but never wanted to make time or motivation to lift weights and I knew that it was important to have more tone for my running and strength. I can tell you that not only did I increase the ability to lift greater than I ever thought I could, my mind and confidence became stronger as well. The difference with Shape Up is you come in with maybe one goal in mind but you find you achieve that goal and start setting more because you are so happy that you can push yourself greater. Fantastic experience: I came to Shape Up Fitness and Wellness Consulting 7-8 years ago, because I wanted to be in good shape entering my 70's. I am in better shape now than I was then, even though I am years older, because Michael never gives up on me, nor lets me give up on myself. He understands my limitations - lower back problems and achilles tendon problems - but we work around them, using stretching, weights, and cardio exercises to support me in becoming straighter and stronger. Although he pushes me, Michael does so with a great sense of humor and wonderful training in his field. I trust him to know what is good for me. I enjoy the feeling of comraderie at Shape Up Fitness and Wellness Consulting. I feel like part of a big family there.
