Fantastic experience: Few physicians actually believe patients who have Endometriosis. When I was underweight I was told to gain weight and it would get better. When I was overweight I was told to lose weight and it would get better. I was prescribed SSRIs and told a lot of what I was feeling was "in my head". Then I finally found an wonderful OB who has taken care of me and helped me have three children. My Endometriosis is beyond her scope so she referred me to Dr. Palmer. Being a male physician I was admittedly concerned - those concerns were immediately quelled when he listened, asked questions, thought about my answers and most importantly - believed me. There are so many people suffering from Endometriosis - I wish they all had the opportunity to see someone like Dr. Palmer.

Fantastic experience: I've recommended Dr. Hilary Frank to friends. She's a good listener, knowledgeable practitioner and I always feel very comfortable with her.

Negative experience: The doctor I saw told me she didn't believe that I was going through perimenopause. She thinks I was too young. But Mayo clinic and other reputable medical sites all say it can happen as early as mid 30s. I felt awful hearing a doctor tell me she doesn't believe that I am going through something so challenging when perimenopause is something so common for women. I believe there are not enough doctor who are educated in this area. The doctor I saw told me she would "believe" me when she saw my labs. When I have already been told that labs do not determine if a woman has perimenopause its symptoms. Because as we go through perimenopause/menopause our hormones are all over the place. Well, I guess my hormones were "right" because my estrogen levels were <5. So she decided to help me.

Fantastic experience: I didn’t have to wait for an appointment when I was concerned. Brianna Hoffman was very personable and friendly. I felt safe and heard. Very happy with my experience and will be returning for further care!

Fantastic experience: Love Dr. Frank! She takes time with you...answers questions thoroughly. Very smart and kind doctor.

Negative experience: I DONT RECOMMEND this place to women of color. The doctor Brigette told me that I don’t have any restrictions. I told others about this and they told me to find a new doctor. One of the nurses I work with said the doctor wants my baby to die. That scares so just a heads up.

Fantastic experience: I’ll forever be thankful for my provider Dr. Mary Martinie. She was the first provider after finally 10 years to take my pelvic pain seriously. When I came to her I was a complete wreck and was over constantly being dismissed. She immediately got me scheduled for the surgery I needed to finally get the proper diagnosis and treatment. For the first time in years, I’m pain free and can actually live my life all thanks to Dr. Martinie and her compassion.

From the moment I stepped into his office, I felt completely comfortable, and that comfort has continued throughout my care with him. He makes patients feel at ease, no matter their situation. As someone who has struggled with weight, I’ve often felt self-conscious at doctor’s appointments. However, he has never made me feel uncomfortable or judged. He listens with empathy and treats me with the utmost respect, always making sure I understand my options and feel confident in my care and decisions. I also struggled for over 10 years dealing with medical issues that no one would listen to or could figure out. After seeing Dr. Palmer, he was able to diagnose me correctly, and most of all, my medical problems are now gone thanks to him! He always takes the time to address my concerns, responds promptly to messages, and never makes me feel rushed during appointments. His professionalism and genuine care for his patients make him stand out as one of the best doctors I’ve ever seen. I will continue to see Dr. Palmer for as long as I can or need to.

Fantastic experience: I have used premier womens clinic for decades! I have referred my friends we are all extremely happy with our care. Dr martinie is fabulous! Her care and concern is incredible.

Negative experience: Went with my wife to discuss family planning. Felt like the provider was throwing out random suggestions for care and didn’t seem comfortable treating anything. We received EOBs from insurance and were never provided bills until yesterday and at that point we were told we were behind on payments. If you never send a bill until now how can we pay. Very disorganized office.

Fantastic experience: I was a long time patient of Dr. Shakerin for over 30 years. After Dr. Shakerin retired, it was important to me to establish a relationship with another doctor who I could trust and felt comfortable building a long-term partnership with. I’m happy to say I found my new doctor in Dr. Anna Meyer! I recently had my first appointment with Dr. Meyer and she immediately made me feel comfortable and took the time to listen and get to know me. Dr. Meyer embodies many of the characteristics I valued in Dr. Shakerin; compassion, kindness, respectfulness, empathy, communication, warmth, and patience (just to name a few). I left my appointment knowing I made the right decision in choosing Dr. Anna Meyer as my new doctor. Thank you, Dr. Meyer!

I have gone through multiple appointments and procedures, and I feel taken care of. There's no place I'd rather go than here for all OBGYN appointments moving forward! Fantastic experience: After a bad experience elsewhere, we were relieved by the professional and compassionate atmosphere at Premier. I would recommend them to anyone! I have never had a bad experience here.

Negative experience: Choose this place due to the good reviews. Had a not so great outcome. Didn’t get consistent care and was seen by anyone other than an Obygn. With my first child, I saw the same doc each visit. Consistent care is important. Didn’t get a good vibe either from the person who draws blood. Should have switched after the second visit. My concerns were dismissed. Guess what I ended up having my child preterm and out of state. Stuck out of state for 4.5months. Came home with mountains of medical bills. Did this clinic even follow up with me to see if I am ok or delivered? No. No one cares at this place.

Negative experience: I went here for a cervical biopsy after having an abnormal pap. At first I had a good experience. The front desk was super sweet, my nurse was sweet - my doc answered questions I had & I thought it was going smoothly. It was the actual process and the after math that really did not sit well with me. She told me it wouldnt hurt that bad. She said there was numbing spray & proceeded to tell me “most women didnt even get this and they were fine”. The procedure itself was one of the worst pains I had EVER felt. She missed the sample TWICE & had to try again for a 3rd time & I was very clearly sitting there in lots of pain / distressed & no one asked how I was doing. I believe we deserve to be given the option of pain meds or SOMETHING to help during this because it was truly awful and I don’t think I could do it again without being knocked out. They really downplayed the pain before. So much that I honestly felt embarrassed for how bad it hurt I thought maybe I’m just weak - then I spoke to others who had it done and they agreed with me that it was one of the worst experiences to go through. Afterward I told them i thought i was gonna throw up and I was extremely nauseous / shaking, tearing up and having the most painful cramps. I thought they would help me out maybe sit with me for a second till I felt a little better idk maybe grab me some water or a cold rag? But instead they handed me a hot pack & a puke bag said to put my clothes back on and proceeded to say “the lobby is that way” & they both walked out of the room right away after the procedure. It felt rushed and I felt like I received zero sympathy or help after the procedure when I was clearly not doing well. I walked out the door and immediately started balling my eyes out. I’d recommend bringing a friend with you if you go here so you have SOME support. Possibly fight for some pain meds or sedation if they allow it. Bring a water bottle. And don’t listen to them when they try to down play how painful and invasive the procedure truly is.

Negative experience: What a disappointing experience after hearing such great things.. LONG post.. I started coming here with my husband for our first pregnancy, how excited we were! Everything was great until we started having more frequent ultrasounds at 20+ weeks. Every-time they would perform an ultra sound they would schedule us for 30 min and the lady doing the ultrasounds did them as fast as she could taking no longer than 5 minutes max. On three separate occasions they were unsure about the measurements they had taken so they referred me to Maternal Fetal Medicine and every-time I went there, the measurements that MFM took looked great. Maybe if they just took their time on the original ultrasound at Oakdale, I wouldn’t have to panic getting that phone call from them AFTER we left when they told me something looked “concerning”. Fast forward to when I went into Labor.. after hearing wonderful things about Maple Grove hospital I was looking forward to that experience as well. Again, disappointing is an understatement. We arrived at the hospital 30 minutes after my water broke and they had placed us in the room. The nurse comes in and the first thing out of her mouth was “I really hope your water didn’t break, we are way too busy tonight and understaffed”. WOW, how terrifying that is to hear as a first time mom going into labor with a planned c-section due to breach baby. Finally we get the c-section time scheduled after almost every nurse told me they weren’t sure how it was going to happen due to the amount of births that particular night… On top of everything that was said that night by the nurses to cause me to panic, my son’s femur was broken upon being delivered. The largest bone in his body.. and not once did I get an explanation on how this happened. The only thing the doctor said to me was “oh he must have brittle bone disease because this never happens”. My son does not have brittle bone disease, it doesn’t run in our families and we tested to ensure he didn’t. All I could think about were the comments everyone made to us about being overworked and understaffed. Did they not take the time they needed too for my delivery? Was the doctor too tired? Just an explanation on how this happened would have been nice.. My son is happy and healthy now, but I will never forget my traumatic experience and those weeks after. Just please, do better next time.

Negative experience: My sister has had really great luck with one of the providers at Oakdale OBGYN. Based on her experience, I made an appointment with Oakdale to hopefully get some answers on some weight gain and some other things I thought were related to getting back on birth control and other hormonal changes. When I arrived, I discussed previous test results (almost a year old at that point) with the same provider my sister had used. She informed me that they didn't do some of the testing that I was hoping to have done and we discussed my diet. She was nice enough but basically told me it was my diet that was causing me to gain weight (which really hadn't changed much over the years) and there was no "exam". After 18 minutes of discussing the above, I left with no further answers. Fast forward to when I received my bill, I had found out they billed my insurnace for a 1 - hour "comprehensive exam" to the tune of nearly $700 which I was responsible for covering $471 of. Just for her 18 minute and I didn't even get on the table! Ridiculous!

Positive experience: Hello, I struggled to give more than 3 stars for our visit/s over the past couple pregnancies and this is my first review after 10 plus visits to this clinic. My wife and I are healthy individuals and we have had mixed feelings toward our visits not because of professionalism, but rather the lack of charisma and bedside manners. Pregnancies are a happy time in anyone's life and we are almost always met with a cranky receptionist, no greeting,no smile and overall unwelcoming. Additionally, very excited for our first ultrasound and the doctor performing it was cold, unexcited and dull. Customer service and kindness is not a forte for many of the individuals employed there. I will say the midwife we saw today was very sweet and attentive and addressed all questions and concerns very well. Overall, to staff it felt like we were an inconvenience to them.

Fantastic experience: I feel very blessed to have landed in the Blaine location of Oakdale OBGYN. Dr.Hilary Frank is the best at what she does . I felt like I was in the hands of an expert.. The best care you could imagine is what I received.. Thank you so much Doctor.. I pray you get the recognition you deserve.. I’m blessed to have landed in your office..

Negative experience: PLEASE READ!!!!! -sorry for the long post- I was referred to oakdale ob by a friend of mine who has gone here for years. I was happy with how quickly i was able to be scheduled, the staff and facility is really nice. I saw Dr. Hallstrom. Meeting her was great. I felt like she took time to listen to me. I originally went to speak to her about my chances of conceiving. I was a little irritated that not a lot of tests were done or referred since i have a history of pcos and had not had a ultrasound done since i had surgery and i was having alot more pelvic pain. She said it was probably just me ovulating? but it was frequent more than just the time of ovulation. When she did a pelvic exam she said i had discharge. She said it looked similar to Ghonnarea or Chlamydia and she would run tests. That FREAKED me out since i knew it wasnt possible!! Before the results came back she prescribed me Metronidazole.. BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE!!!!! I trusted it was just a antibiotic to clear up bv or whatever she suspected it was. All tests came back negative, except for bv. Upon her prescribing me Metronidazole not once did she mention side effects. Neither did the pharmacist. I just figured id take it and be fine right? its a anti biotic! it should be safe. After just four days of using it i had SEVERE reactions and side effects. So severe i had quit my job of 10 years. I couldn't drive, i was bed bound for weeks, lost my appetite and was in severe pain, i had severe intrusive thoughts, the worst panic attacks of my life, increased heart rate. blurred vision for months and extremally bad head aches and pressure. I developed tremors, was diagnosed with small nerve neuropathy and have cerebellum dysfunction. I have become completely desensitized and have been stuck in constant derealization. i spent 6 weeks in intensive therapy thinking i had lost my mind. Just turns out the 5 day round of Metro caused a neuro toxicity. Something that is not talked about because it is supposed to be "rare" I am 27 years old. Now living with small nerve neuropathy, tremors, memory loss, and a altered mental state, depression, and seizure like activity. I am now 8 months post metro. And i am still trying to recover. I went to see if i could have another child. Now i am seeing two different neurologist and living in hell after one visit and a quit diagnosis. The 20 minute appointment wasnt worth the hell i am living in. Clinics are so used to handing these medications out without understanding the long term side effects. I WAS NEVER WARNED!!!! this has completely ruined my life. I am not blaming the physician or clinic. I know they would have never done this if they knew. I am writing this in hopes that they will warn people of these side effects as they are not rare. There are many support groups for people who have suffered from Metro (flagyl) toxcicity. I am not a one in a million chance of these side effects neither are the 10k plus people who have died, and have suffered are are still suffering from this medication. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE warn people before you prescribe it. There is no known cure. I dont get to build my family that i so badly wanted. I can barley move most days. METRO is not worth it.

Fantastic experience: Usually pretty quick to get on the schedule and a great group of providers.

Negative experience: Had an appointment that I had anticipated and been waiting for. Desperately needed answers if not to all my questions just to ease my mind with a path forward. They decided to cancel on me just a few hours to the appointment. Saying they could not help me. Leaving me with no options for treatment. Just schedule an appointment with a general Family doctor. Yet, a general family doctor had referred me to an OBGYN clinic because they specialized in the help I needed. What is a family doctor going to do for my uterus exactly?! I am confused the one thing I wanted to get answered they could not help me. This is exactly what they specializes in. They were not willing to even meet with me to discuss options. In the end I was in tears with no answers to calm my nerves about what was going on with my body. Completely unprofessional!

Negative experience: Overall, disappointing.

Negative experience: I went and saw dr Jillian hallstrom for the first time today and probably won’t be back. She was quite cold and gave me the side eye a few times as if she was judging me for my responses/actions. She was more interested in taking notes on her laptop instead of focusing 100% on me as the patient. A few times I mentioned that I have my US on my phone for her to view and she just ignored me. I then asked if weight gain had to do with the issue and she ignored my question also. I only took this appointment with her because it was the first open appointment. Disappointed as there was no compassion for what I was going through. Doctors can dictate notes after the visit with the patient. If you have that short of a memory that you need to type up your progress note while the patient sits there in silence so you can finish your note then get a scribe. If I’m being billed based on time for this visit then the minutes where I’m just sitting in silence for the doctor to enter her notes should be deducted.

Negative experience: I have never had a worse experience at an OBGYN. I went in interested in doing a thyroid panel due to changes in my cycle. Dr. Shannon Harris was extremely cold and was not interested in caring about my preferences when it comes to birth control. As someone who has been on hormonal birth control for years, getting off of the pill and moving to natural family planning has been life changing, and I have loved tracking my cycle to prevent pregnancy. Dr. Harris doubted my knowledge when it came to my own body and my plans for pregnancy. All of my concerns were immediately shut down with inaccurate statements by Dr. Harris. She said that my version of cycle tracking (which is FDA approved) was not accurate and would end up in pregnancy. She continued to question my status with my partner, questioned how long my partner and I have been together, and overall seemed very disapproving of somebody my age being content with the idea of becoming pregnant. She took no time to understand why I feel the way I do about birth control and fertility in general. Don’t go here unless you’re ready to feel belittled for taking a natural route to family planning. Overall a terrible experience and I could not recommend this provider less.

Fantastic experience: Explained the situation and complications until I perfectly understood what it was about.

Negative experience: Terrible phone assistance. The person on the other end had no empathy or patience and kept raising her voice each time I didn’t understand anything and sounded irritated. I can only imagine the in person assistance.

Fantastic experience: I have seen multiple providers at the Blaine location. Both providers and all the nursing staff are wonderful. They make me feel extremely comfortable, and are so knowledgeable and reassuring.

Fantastic experience: Love Oakdale OBGYN. I started going here when pregnant with my first kiddo and had excellent natal and postpartum care. I saw many of the providers, from nurse practitioners to midwives to OBs, and found the care to be exceptional. You're sure to find someone who fits with your personality. I can recommend Jenny Lafond, Lisa Shakerin, Debra Boersma, Wendy Lovaas, Bethany Hjelle, and Jennifer Stoffers. In other words, their whole team is just wonderful. Will continue going here for routine care and future pregnancies if there are any.

Fantastic experience: Wendy Lovaas, NP was great! Thorough, kind, and a good listener. Although, I was new to her, she had clearly reviewed my chart, so I never felt like I had to "start over." I left with no questions and a clear plan.

Negative experience: Had my annual appointment with Dr.Hallstrom which is 100% covered by my insurance. I asked her for a pamphlet for something we discussed during my last annual checkup. I got my bill and was charged 167.77 she charged me for my annual exam AND an office visit! I have been trying to speak with billing since September with zero success. Mindy R does not call back spoke to Jean F . I am not paying this bill because this is an insurance scam! I would watch your bills very close if you chose to stay with this group. Update to your response- I have called so many times and have spoken to several folks- you would think you would call me and not have me email you. I would love for someone to call me. If I don’t answer leave a message. My phone number is on my account and is accurate.

Fantastic experience: Wendy is the BEST...she takes the time with you and never rushes any issues you may have. I am so happy she is available during this hard time I would not want to see another provider ever. Thanks Wendy for all you do!

Fantastic experience: Everything from online registration to the nurse staff to seeing Wendy Lovaas. Wendy was very easy to have a conversation with and is genuinely interested in your well being. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I started going here in March of 2020 after a previous bad experience with a doctor elsewhere, this place was a breath of fresh air. Dr. Martini is so nice and educational, she explains everything and I can tell she cares. I had to make a last min appointment with a different doctor and she was awesome as well. Plus any of the receptionists and medical assistants I have interacted with have been great. Womens health can be scary sometimes, but I feel well taken care of here :)

Fantastic experience: I went through this provider for my first child two years ago and am going through them now with my second child. Every physician and midwife I met with gave me top quality care. They never make me feel rushed or judged. My delivery went amazing with my midwife and they have many options for appointment times to work with my busy schedule. The only negative is that they currently do not allow children to be present at the appointments. I hope this changes soon with the pandemic restrictions starting to change. I understand the need for safety, because Covid-19 can be more severe in pregnancy, but this is also a barrier for many women who do not have easy access to childcare.

Negative experience: If you’re a single mother don’t bother with this clinic. They will deny an appointment if your child needs to be with. According to them it’s per cdc guidelines because of COVID except when I asked for proof of this nobody was able to provide any. I work in a healthcare clinic and we would never deny a visit I’d their child has to be with.

Fantastic experience: I switched to this clinic a few weeks ago and I am so glad I did! Dr Martinie is the best OB doctor that I have ever had. She actually takes the time to get to know you and what you actually want out of your care and then she goes over her thoughts and ideas and you figure out a care plan together. She treats with you with respect and makes sure you understand everything before you leave the clinic. I am having surgery by her in few weeks and I am very comfortable and I know I am in good hands. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I could not be happier with Oakdale OB. I've been to several clinics and have seen multiple providers over the course of 2 pregnancies and haven't come across one person that I didn't like. From receptionists, nurses, sonagraphers, midwifes, and MD's- everyone has exceeded my expectations for prenatal and postnatal care.

Fantastic experience: Today I went to the clinic for the first time and the front desk people and the doctor were very nice. When I left the exam room, a little confused on what way to exit, I walked by two nurses and asked which way I should go, one of them made a really rude comment about me. I was right there, in hearing distance. I have a rare medical disease and many medications to list but other than that I am a very normal person and her comment was extremely rude and unprofessional! There used to be a time when nurses were held to a standard of being understanding and compassionate.

Fantastic experience: I finally found a doctor that listens and cares. After 15 years of irregular periods and every single doctor telling me my problems are because I'm overweight, I finally found a doctor that listened and wanted to find the underlying issue instead of simply telling me to lose weight. I was referred to Dr. Mary Martinie by my primary care doctor. I consulted with Dr. Martinie today. All it took was a blood draw and an ultrasound for her to tell me I have pcos. Everyone I encountered at Oakdale OBGYN was helpful and kind. Never have I felt more comfortable going to the doctor. I hope that if you know someone who is looking for a doctor who cares, that you will refer them to this wonderful clinic. I couldn't be more happy I found it.

Fantastic experience: First met Dr. Palmer about a month and a half ago. Great guy who really listens and empathizes with you. Doesn’t make you feel like you’re a nut case. Been dealing with with endometreosis issues for years. Have had several surgeries in the past. Had surgery with Dr. Palmer this last Monday, the 23rd and he was amazing! I’m still in the healing process but he took the time to explain everything and make sure my husband and I understood everything and the pros and cons of surgery. After surgery he can in and said I 100% needed that surgery as I had so much going on. He is a true God send and I am so thankful the Lord sent me to him and his team. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone who is a female.

Fantastic experience: The midwives have been amazing during my pregnancy. So supportive and knowledgeable. Highly reccomend.

Negative experience: I went in to remove my IUD due to it causing me reoccurring infections. Anyway, I went in, front desk was very nice, wait was short, nurse was nice. I waited for over 20 min for the doctor to come in, I believe her name was dr Harris, not sure if she’s a midwife or ob, she comes in and asks me why I’m choosing to take it out, I told her why, I know MY body. And she was so rude and told me that the infection isn’t not caused from the IUD and that removing it is pointless. I told her to proceed with removing it, she was very rude the entire time and it was not comforting. She removed it and walked out. I’ve never in my life dealt with a more rude ob/midwife. Oh and fyi after removing the IUD my infection has completely healed and I feel back fo normal, so not only was she beyond rude but she gave me false information. Will not be coming back due to terrible experience with this woman.

Fantastic experience: The nursing staff and my doctor were so kind and helpful. The whole place was neat and clean. The wait time was very short. I always feel so comfortable and listened to whenever I visit an Oakdale OBGYN site.
