An integrative family medicine practice focusing on natural, sustainable, and root cause approaches to health.

Our comment from Nutrifinder.net about Wiseman Family Practice - Central Austin:

Wiseman Family Practice in Central Austin is a well-regarded healthcare provider, emphasizing a holistic and integrative approach to medicine. Many patients have expressed their satisfaction with the attentive and compassionate care provided by the practitioners, particularly highlighting their ability to listen and tailor treatment plans to individual needs. Dr. Ashley and Kristen Bernal have received accolades for their thorough care, ability to address complex health issues, and effective communication. Moreover, the clinic is praised for its convenient location and accommodating hours.

However, some patients have reported challenges with scheduling appointments, particularly with reaching the office via phone, as well as occasional administrative inconsistencies, such as unexpected fees and billing issues. Stephanie Tabone and Jamie Garza have been recognized for their bedside manner, but there are mentions of a need for more front desk staffing to improve patient experiences.

Despite some criticisms regarding administrative challenges, the underlying consensus is that Wiseman Family Practice offers valuable medical care that many feel is holistic, patient-centered, and deeply committed to improving their patients' health journeys. If you are looking for a healthcare provider who genuinely listens and works collaboratively with you, Wiseman Family Practice could be a great choice.

Fantastic experience: I felt seen, heard and cared for by Dr Ashley. I will not use another. Her calm demeanor, her style of listening and note taking is beyond any Dr i have been too. She actually thought about me and sent me recommendations to try to help with my hormones and my energy. My holistic style does not get in her way. She works with me to improve my health. Thank you Absolutely a gem ✨️

Positive experience: Through the years, my experience with Wiseman Family Practice has been very good. Their availability and communication have been wonderful. Having a central location has been extremely helpful to getting the care I need. The main criticism I have is that they need more staff to assist the NPs. Nurse practitioner, Stephanie Tabone has a great bedside manner and treats each issue with competence and compassion.

Positive experience: This was my recent experience scheduling a first appointment. Phone tag (May 22 – June 4): Each time I missed this call (during work hours) I returned it within 3–10 minutes—only to reach voicemail with no call-back that day. We repeated this for two weeks. A voicemail on May 29 finally said someone would email me to schedule, but no email was sent. Appointment set (June 4): We finally spoke and booked a visit. Unexpected “New-Patient” bill: Before the appointment, I received a new-patient fee in the mail that had never been mentioned. Paperwork issue (June 25): Joana called to say my appointment would be canceled if I didn’t finish new-patient paperwork “already emailed” to me. No such email existed. After checking, she conceded it was a mistake and said the scheduling team would send it. Call ended abruptly: When I then tried to ask her about the New Patient Fee (as it had not been mentioned to me prior to scheduling the 1st appointment) and whether it was a one-time charge that I could pay in person, Joana interrupted me mid sentence only to say the scheduling personnel “should have told you.” The conversation ended without answers. With the repeated communication/scheduling issues and the surprise fee, I am not comfortable moving forward with this practice. I've canceled the appointment. I’m sharing this feedback in hopes that the office can improve its scheduling process and fix its upfront communication with scheduling, fees, and paperwork expectations.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been seeing Kristen for a couple of years now, and my daughter goes to her as well. She has been a game changer for us. Kind, compassionate, knowledgeable. If she doesn’t know, she will do thorough research or refer to a specialist. I’m so thankful for a clinic that will take insurance but also utilize a holistic approach to healthcare. It’s almost unheard of these days.

Fantastic experience: This is the only practice I know of that is functional/integrative medicine that takes insurance. Dr. wiseman wanted everyone to have access to this kind of care and not pay hundreds for an appointment. My visits are free, with insurance. Are there issues, sure. There are a lot of moving parts, but when you are the only one in the game doing this, I think it's reasonable to expect. I don't think they have any issues beyond any other doctor's office I deal with, and WFP gives better care. So, please take that into consideration when reading negative reviews and weigh it against other offices that have the same issues and lesser care than WFP. I have had some not so great experiences with their back office; this is true. But I have had great ones too. Most notably, I have had excellent and even enjoyable communications with Lisa Barraza. She was previously an MA and now works in the back office as a support staff. She is phenomenal. She does her job with so much pride and does it correctly. Mistakes don't happen with this woman... because she cares about each patient and cares about doing things right...the first time. When she picks up the phone, you can HEAR the smile on her face, because she loves what she does. She has a fantastic attitude, loves to solve problems for people and she is a great listener. I actually ENJOY talking to her, because she is so nice and easy going. I wish everyone were like this, and if I still owned a business, I would hire her to run it. She exceeds all of my expectations, every time. WFP is pretty great. NO ONE is perfect, but for what they are doing and providing, they do it better than I could ever expect. I wouldn't go anywhere else. With tons of crappy health issues, I have seen more doctors than I can count, from Gp's to specialists. There are good and bad, but no one has come close to the amazing care I get from Kristen Bernal at WFP Austin Central. I have been seeing her for 8 years and she makes me feel like a family member would if they were treating me. She treats each patient as an individual. There is no "one size fits all" approach to medicine and she gets that perfectly. She remembers details about your medical history, meds and personal life with an accuracy I cannot comprehend. I am convinced she is a genius. She is constantly going to trainings, conferences and researching things, on her own time. She never stops learning and any new health issue with which she isn't an expert (which is rare) she sees as a challenge to learn about and help guide your treatment. Without her care, I would likely be dead. That isn't an exaggeration. She has diagnosed things other practices missed or ignored. She has treated things no one would treat. She finds the root cause instead of just covering it up with a medication or giving up. Some things, where I have direct knowledge of her expertise: Reproductive hormones and BHRYT, Thyroid, blood sugar, autoimmune disease, gut health and GI diseases/conditions, weight management, Lyme, EBV, nutrition, liver and kidney function, heart health and heart conditions... the list goes on... I go to her for routine stuff and for really complicated stuff. I have never been let down or walked away without help. Each visit I learn a lot of really useful new things from her. Kristen Bernal is everything medicine should be. She checks every box, every time...and she is just a darn good human, that is so easy to talk to, without any judgement. her bedside manner is a 10. Her knowledge is a 10. Her dedication is a 10. I can't find one thing I don't love about her... and if i had to pay $1000 to see her somewhere else... I'd do it. No matter what specialist I go to Kristen always knows more than they do. She is like 20 doctors rolled into one. I have referred friends and family to her and not one of them has been anything less than grateful and blown away by how amazing she is ...their only complaint has been " why did I not find her sooner... I could have saved years of suffering, frustration and money. "

Fantastic experience: Stephanie Tabone makes going to the doctors not horrible. She’s kind, attentive, and has a good sense of humor.. which goes a long way in my opinion! Love the staff, and the location is really convenient!!

Negative experience: ****Zero Stars*** Today was very foggy, I35 was a parking lot due to accidents. I was driving from North Pflugerville-Hutto area. I got there late ( my first time being late). I was told to wait or reschedule. I said I didn't mind waiting. Then I got a message confirming my appointment for 1:30 pm. I was expected to wait 5 hours to be seen. Ridiculous! Needless to say I will not be going back.

Fantastic experience: My entire family and I have been seeing Wiseman for 30+ years. Richard started as my primary when I was a child, then I starting seeing Jeremy as he took over, and other practitioners - particularly Jamie Garza - she's AMAZING. They are all so wonderful and supportive of overall health. It's easy to jump on telemed call to have a quick appointment, and in person is just as easy and thorough. I'm always so comfortable talking to them about all health related issues and know they're always there to help - and they will listen to you and what you need. The best medical practice in town - I HIGHLY recommend!

Negative experience: Leaving this review as I sit here waiting 25 mins for my 30 mins appointment and no doctor. Last time the office refused to see me because I was 14 minutes late! I had issues getting here… My experience is the same as another reviewer stating that the front desk had no remorse or empathy for late arrivals. This office use to be good but has gone downhill in the past few months. I think I will be taking my business elsewhere after this visit if I ever get to see someone.

Fantastic experience: I originally started going to Wiseman Family Practice because my friend said they really helped her with her perimenopause symptoms. The FNPs I've working with have listened to me and worked with me to help me. I would recommend this practice. The one downside is that it is impossible to get anyone on the phone and very difficult to return calls because you can only leave a message or send a message through the portal. When I send a message through the portal the response time is quick - within 4 hours during business hours. I have been known to send a message late at night or on the weekend, because I have a question and I will forget if I wait and I always receive a response as soon as office hours start the next business day.

Fantastic experience: The ethos of the holistic medicine practiced here is so refreshing! They care about you as a patient--how you feel and what you need. They listen and help navigate modern medicine and herbal supplements along with the challenges of costs and insurance coverage. In the end, you will have a solution that fits your needs specifically.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Wiseman Family Practice highly enough! I usually see Dr. Stefanie Tabone, who is absolutely amazing. She takes a thoughtful and holistic approach to my health concerns, prioritizing natural solutions before turning to medications. Her care has been exceptional over the years. Recently, I had surgery and found myself in a panic on a Friday, realizing I was going to run out of pain medication over the weekend. Initially, I was told I would need to come in for an in-person appointment, but since I was bedridden, that wasn’t an option. To my surprise, I received a call on Saturday afternoon offering a telemedicine appointment with Dr. Jeremy Wiseman himself. He called within 15 minutes and immediately sent over a refill for my medication. I was so impressed by the care and dedication Dr. Wiseman showed—especially taking time out of his Saturday to ensure I was taken care of. It truly reflects how much this practice values its patients. Wiseman Family Practice has consistently provided top-notch care, and this experience only reinforced why I’ve trusted them for years. If you’re looking for a practice that genuinely cares about your well-being, this is it!

Negative experience: NOT a fan of the Central front desk older attendant - Ugh! We had a well-check appointment at 8.45am today for my 11 year old daughter (aiming to avoid having her miss much school) we arrived at 8.30am. We were still waiting at 9.10am - this without notification that the practitioner was behind schedule which seems would be the courteous thing to do. When I politely inquired when we might expect to see the P.A. - the older of the two women occupying the desk nearest the hallway - acted as if I had kicked her puppy! This woman has an exceptionally nasty and passive aggressive attitude - which was repeated at check out (knowing there were no fees due for the insurance covered well-check) she had me nonetheless wait again “so she could check out a patient” (who arrived after me btw) - mostly seemingly to exert a form of control. Though we don’t have complaints of the P.A. - the reception desk needs an overhaul if patient satisfaction matters here. Lastly, as stated by others there is NO way to reach anyone via phone ever - no matter the location. Plus my portal shows a past due balance for a new patient fee (which was paid over a year ago) the younger receptionist advised “to never just pay what the balance shows” as the system doesn't update… Do not attend this practice if you can help it.

Negative experience: Wouldn't recommend going here if you have candida issues. I was not examined, the provider was practically helpless, and it was more expensive than a normal doctor (without any benefit).

Claire Galley 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Jamie Garza (NP) at Wiseman in central Austin has been a great PCP for me. I appreciate her willingness to think outside the box to try new medicines/options and her responsiveness on the patient portal. I'd recommend her and Wiseman to anyone looking for quality care that's more than quick visits and scripts.

Negative experience: It appears that the Wiseman team makes the minimum effort to do their jobs, and does not have any structure in place to follow through on care. I would not recommend this service. 1. No one has ever picked up the phone when I have called, regardless of which location 2. The practitioner went home early on the day of my first appointment, but I wouldn't have known because they sent me an email asking me to call. I called but I got the 'we are at lunch message' When I got there I was accused of never having called back and told I would have to reschedule. 3. After finally meeting (where they did little more then ask me what medications I took) I requested routine bloodwork. After showing up at 7am fasting to quest, there was no order. Wiseman team said it was never sent. After 3 orders being placed by the wiseman team, quest still does not have my order. They seem disorganized, they sound inconvenienced if I do get them on the phone, and there has been no indication that their care is anything more then ordinary. Despite the fact it is unlikely you will ever see an MD and they charge just as much as my last doctor.

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE. This was my primary care provider. I needed emergency surgery on my hand and needed a referral asap. I called and left voicemails, no call back. About 4 BlueCross agents called them as well, no answer. I walked into office, and they told me it would be 5 days for them to process basic new patient paperwork. They stared at me blanky and offered zero help. I was on the phone with BlueCross that wanted to talk to the secretary, but she wouldn't talk with BlueCross. I just needed a referral to a hand surgeon. I already had x-rays and paid out of pocket to meet surgeon because Wiseman folks wouldn't give me a referral... because it takes them 5 DAYS for the basic new patient paperwork to be processed. These people are the problem with healthcare. Luckily, I found another primary care doc that day that would take me in and I change my PCP.

Negative experience: Do not go to Wiseman Family Practice. Was a patient since 2019. Billing errors don't get corrected, can't ever get anyone on the phone, "portal messages" only sometimes answered, and I have had a poor experience trying to get support for chronic health issues.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been seeing Kristin Pajares for a couple years now and it’s been a consistently positive experience. Kristin is a provider I trust to provide great care with compassion. A truly rare find! Give her a raise!

Negative experience: Called to say I was running late due to a blocked lane and they said if it wasn’t within 15 min of appt it may be an abbreviated appointment. I got there and ran into the office at just past 15 min late only to be told that they wouldn’t be able to see my child for his appointment and I could reschedule. I am a single mom who had to wait 1-2 months for this appt and drove my toddler and newborn to get to this appointment and there was zero consideration for my situation. In addition they never mentioned on the phone that I’d have to reschedule if late just that it would be a shortened appointment. Highly do not recommend a place so cold-hearted and inflexible to parents.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Wiseman Family Practice in central Austin since 2019. Dr. Pajares has been so incredibly helpful to me on my health journey. In particular, she supported me through three years of hormonal imbalance and serious digestive issues (e.g. SIBO). She went above and beyond in getting me the tests I needed to diagnose my issues and then came up with a holistic care plan to help me heal. There were definitely bumps along the way in my healing journey, but because of her help, empathy, and persistence, I was able to get pregnant, achieve hormonal balance, and get my digestion feeling loads better. I am so grateful that she took time to ask me questions, listen, and really help me achieve the health outcomes that I desired.

Negative experience: I scheduled a virtual appointment. Waited for 20 minutes in the virtual waiting room. Called 5 times and left voicemails for an update. No returned calls. Luckily I live very close to the office and came into office to find two receptionists on their iPhones. They said they would return my call within 30 minutes - very disappointing service from a healthcare provider. Will be looking elsewhere.

Positive experience: We’ve been with Wiseman for many years. We appreciate the holistic approach to health, which is their focus. We enjoyed Stephanie Tabone - my 10 year old needed a blood draw and she just made it so easy. She put us all at ease!

Amy Crenshaw 3 years ago

Negative experience: Yikes. I was so excited to find a more holistic approach to my medical care. Unfortunately, after a pretty pleasant initial consultation, I couldn't get a single person to return my calls for an appointment. I got a bill, so I tried to pay it multiple times online and through phone calls-again, no one answers the phone and no one calls back. I finally just showed up to one of the clinics to try and pay the amount on my bill....suddenly, there's a slew of other fees that I need to pay. Never mind that they aren't on my bill, never mind that my insurance already paid these people over $215 for thirty minutes of conversation, I now owe them for trying to become a new patient...meaning there's a 'new patient' fee that isn't included in the charge they submitted to my insurance OR me...it's not anywhere on the bill, it wasn't mentioned in my one and only conversation with this practice...but sure, I need to pony up an additional $55 for a medical practice that I don't even want to be a patient at...? What a nightmare.

Positive experience: Once you learn the portal system, it is easy to get in touch with your provider at this practice. The nurse practitioner I've had, Kristen, is knowledgeble and helpful. I like that they integrate Western and Eastern medicine.

Negative experience: terrible service... i had a virtual visit and requested blood work, paid$30 copay and never got the work order then i send a message and never got a replay so i called and they never returned my call but send me a message through their app and said "oh you need to schedule a physical". The other nurse or whomever served me never mentioned anything like that. basically $30 thrown in the trash and a waste of 4 weeks... terrible

Negative experience: I'm not entirely sure how this place stays in business treating their clients so poorly. From conversations with front desk staff being rude to being back charged for uninformative phone calls ($98 for a scheduled phone call the doctor was over 20 minutes late for, making me late for work) that only tell me that the results from my lab tests can be found on the portal. No information was provided from the business that the follow-up phone call after getting testing done would be charged such a high amount of money. When I called to talk to someone about this the person that answered was very rude and short with me and repeatedly interrupted me just to try and pass the phone call onto someone else as quick as possible. This place has taken advantage of my trust and I will be disputing these unnecessary charges with my insurance company.

Negative experience: When folks write "I've left messages and no one calls me back" it's legit. Listen to them! I've left several voicemails and talked to the receptionist once and was promised the nurse would return my call. Nothing. Silence. I've been trying to get the notes from my last visit-- something simple-- and can't get anyone to return my call. I paid $90 for my first appointment and was under the impression that we'd discuss my issues (they ask for your reason to visit on the intake form), but all she did was listen to my heart and told me to make a follow up appointment "to talk further." I was absolutely perplexed! So, I did. I made another appointment (paying a co-pay this time) only to spend 15 minutes with the same NP who created a plan of action by writing it down on a prescription sheet and sending me on my way. Not to mention she kept calling me "girl" like we were friends. When I was in a good place to move forward with her requests, I could not read her handwriting, so I logged into the portal to get the notes. Nothing was there (what's the point of the portal if you're not going to use it?). So, I've been calling to get the information. Calling and calling and calling. Nothing. I want my money back at this point. They literally did nothing. I paid for someone to listen to my heart and read back my medical records. Rip-off.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had a pretty awesome experience with Wiseman Family Practice. I explain in detail my health objectives and concerns. I am 100% transparent with my intentions, symptoms, and fears, etc., I also give them my google doctor prognosis of my medical issues and they always entertain and listen to my thoughts. I’ve always end up having a thorough and holistic conversation with my doc regarding the possible ailments, treatment options, and potential testing and lab work. And I’m very happy with my physical and mental health since switching to Wiseman years ago. I can’t recall ever having an issue with the administrative staff, but I do nearly everything I need in the app or online. I think the key for me has been to be proactive and intentional about my medical treatment. In the past, I used to just “go to the doctor” and go with the flow. The proactive and international approach has seemed to be the difference. Regarding, I have no issues recommending Wiseman. My primary location is Medical Arts but I’ve also been to the Cedar Park location. Never had an issue at either location.

Fantastic experience: Jamie Garza is fantastic. Appointments are never rushed. She listens to you and understands your needs. Jillian Alsup works miracles with her acupuncture and cupping.

Matthew Vaughn 4 years ago

Negative experience: Their professional staff is quite disrespectful and rude to you when you call, no matter how nice you are to them or how reasonable your request. Furthermore, they won't take accountability for this behavior. The doctors seem competent enough but you're unlikely to get what you need from them if you have to run the gauntlet of the front desk staff.

Fantastic experience: It is rare that I have any frustrations with the practice and have been with them for over 29 years. I definitely recommend them to others.

Fantastic experience: I chose Wiseman for my family because it's an integrative care practice that values more than just teasing symptoms with medications. We love seeing Jamie for check ups, and partnering with her on more complex health issues- she wants to hear her patients' experience and has lots of recommendations so that you can build a plan together. She clearly prepares before each meeting, and has proved to be a trustworthy advocate for mental, physical, and emotional health. Thanks Jamie for making our family's experience at Wiseman a very positive one!

Lily Trieu 4 years ago

Negative experience: I have never been so frustrated with a medical provider before. They do not answer phones - I've called, left voicemails, called again....calls are not answered or returned and now the inbox is full. When I finally got a person, they were rude and condescending - I couldn't even ask my questions given how many times I was interrupted. I finally had to raise my voice to get a word in. They charged a new patient set-up fee of $55 which is not billable to insurance and then failed to follow-up with any of the things they said they would (request medial records from previous doctors, review lab results, etc.). I needed a quick flu shot and decided to get one since I was in the neighborhood - I've never had to pay a copay before since I'm covered by insurance and it's usually not administered by a MD. Wiseman charges a copay any way even though I did not see a practitioner - not sure if this is standard practice but I surely have never experienced it. All in all, I've spent $100 at this practice, as well as everything billed through the insurance, and aside from a flu shot I have not received any actual medical care - just a lot of rude comments from the front desk.

Fantastic experience: He’s my family’s PCP. Best location to see the actual Doctor and not a PA. I’m a CPhT. I’ve worked fast paced retail for over 14 years. I’m also an Austinite. Ten years ago I came in to see him for the first time when I was so sick. I needed treatment and I needed it fast so I could get back to work to complete same day shift! This doctor does not play. He had me feeling better by the time I left work for the day. I’ll never forget that he did that for me. No better feeling. I’ve been a patient of Dr. Wiseman since 2010. A lot of growth has happened to his practice since then. I always like his approach to my health goals. He’s very professional. He’s super trustworthy. He listens to what I’m aiming for and he helps me with providing many options including holistic. He is active and informative on what he prescribes and is thorough about my therapy. I’ve seen him for many issues throughout the years. Recently, I lost 20lbs under his care. I’ve never felt and looked better! I’m still so happy about it! We also buy excellent, high quality supplements from the practice. He’s good for the whole family. My husband and two sons also see him. A++++

Fantastic experience: My best health outcomes in 15 or more years. Drs Garza and Lemen guided us to supps and fewest meds that achieved extraordinay outcomes. We both believe in Dr. Wiseman's pholisophy and his staff's abilities to deliver on those ideals. We will never change doctors offices again as long as he's open!

Negative experience: I had a less than confident feeling after my first visit with Dr Wiseman. Forever hopeful, I continued seeing him for a third appointment with lab results from Australia as I travel back often. He was rude and dismissive after I asked if he would order a couple of additional tests recommended by my naturopath in Sydney. These tests were to further investigate a cardiovascular condition and course of treatment of which Dr Wiseman refused feigning ignorance of the tests. As his practice advocates a holistic, preventative approach I was astounded and completely disappointed how unwilling or unable he was to share information. He was unhelpful in regard to my lab results just annoyed that I would consult with another practitioner. His manner is stand offish and impersonal and quick to get you out for the next patient. His unhelpful attitude may certainly have had something to do with insurance. The other doctors in the practice are hopefully more amicable and caring otherwise go elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Wiseman Family Practice is very busy so it’s very difficult to get appts and hard to get to even speak with the office. But the results are worth it. Jamie Garza has helped me get the right combination of prescriptions and hormones to feel stronger than I have in many years.

Negative experience: Don't waste your time with this group. While I had a good experience with the doctor, his staff left a lot to be desired. My wife needed a copy of a receipt and it took them 3 months to respond to her, we physically had to go there and complain. Then, a month later we asked for a letter of medical necessity to provide her FSA company with and they wanted $15 to write a letter. They told her she should be taking their supplements and won't write a letter?!?!!? They are horribly managed and do not care about their patients, only about their pockets.

Fantastic experience: I've been seeing Dr. Wiseman and his team for several years, and wouldn't change practices for all the money in the world! I have always loved their holistic approach in the areas where it's needed, and their ability to still integrate "western medicine" for the perfect balance for my needs. I also LOVE that they choose educational health DVDs to play in the waiting room, I sure wish I knew where they find them!

Negative experience: I was excited about this place being an integrative family practice, but have been nothing but disappointed since my first (and only) appointment. During my first visit, I discussed the issues I've been having with the NP who saw me. She took notes and told me they could help, but I'd need to come back and schedule a physical for them to take the necessary testing. I didn't understand why it couldn't be done during this visit, since that's why I was there and had included all that information in my request for a first appointment. She did not explain this other than to say it would have to be done during a follow up. My 8 year old daughter was with me, and I mentioned that we'd recently left her pediatrician and we'd be needing a new doctor. I told her that she'd just had a well check appointment and did not need care now, but would in the future if she got sick. She listened to her heart and looked in her mouth and ears anyway. We left and the front desk told me I could schedule my follow up appointment online. I called later to ask more questions about the follow up, left a message, and no one ever called me back. A week later I got a bill for $150 for my daughter's services (?!?!?!) and $131.04 for mine. I have no idea what these charges are for. I told her my daughter did not need a check up now, but I guess listening through a stethoscope and looking in her ears and mouth (unrequested) costs $150??? In addition, I haven't been to the doctor in over a year, so if they billed this as a well check for me it should be free (insurance pays all), not $131.04. I've now left 6 messages for their billing department over the past two weeks. I got one call back after I sent a message through the portal to Dr. Jeremy Wiseman about the lack of communication, but unfortunately I was in a meeting when they called me back. It's the only time they have called, and I've left 3 messages since. I would not recommend this practice if you value communication and transparency.

Negative experience: The staff here is very awful at greeting you and also explaining the process of what you need to do to get food sensitivity tests out. There was almost zero explanation and a box handed to me with two sheets of papers that have no instructions. Guess they just can't be bothered nor do they care.

Fantastic experience: I actually feel cared for when I go to an appointment.

Fantastic experience: These days, those of us who actually want to be of better than just "average" health need to look outside the system and do our own research. That Dr. J. Wiseman understands this, helps to guide us, AND is "in-system" for many local employer health plans make this clinic an extremely rare find. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: The Wiseman Clinic is what I was looking for when I moved to the Austin area. For the first time in my life I decide to go to a clinic that practices integrative medicine. Their website says it all about what integrative medicine means. I have come to strongly believe that food, stress, and exercise are the most important elements of a healthy life. I have no problem with necessary medications, but I do not want to have them prescribed as a perfunctory response to illness that can be managed by lifestyle. It is comforting to go to a clinic that recognizes that long term use of pharmaceuticals may not be the first solution to live a healthy life.

Fantastic experience: This is a great find as a Mom who cares about diet and lifestyle. I try to avoid pharmaceuticals unless absolutely necessary. Most doctor offices ignore the critical tests Wiseman offers like food sensitivity tests. My son had papular eczema which other doctors, dermatologists, and Allergy drs had no help for except drugs. Wiseman ran a food sensitivity test and recommended gluten and dairy free diet. Since following that diet my son has not had an outbreak since. Thank you Wiseman

Fantastic experience: Dr. Wiseman was able to pinpoint what was causing my symptoms, that other doctors had simply chalked up to laziness. I had gone to many doctors and specialists for three years before finally figuring out I needed to go to a doctor of functional medicine. Yeah, it took a few months to get the first appointment, but it was WELL worth the wait. He *listened* to me, asked the right questions, and ordered the right tests. Then, he told me what I needed to change in my lifestyle and dietary choices, to actually get better, instead of throwing a pill at me to mask the symptoms. I have my life back because of this practice, and have moved my daughter over from her pediatrician to Wiseman Family Practice.

Fantastic experience: The wait was not long. You can have your GYN care here too. I like having everything at the same office. The staff and physicians are very pleasant. Dr. Wiseman is very intelligent.

Positive experience: SERIOUSLY HAPPY with Courtney. Thorough, attentive, well-informed, communicative, caring. Loved the telephone appointment follow-up, especially considering I live some distance away. Somewhat put off by the fact that telephone appointment ended up costing $20.00 more than planned because rates went up, unannounced, which is the reason this isn't 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: It is great to have a medical professional to take their time and really listen to you. FNP Rau is wonderful. Everyone in the office is very knowledgeable and helpful. I think I've found my forever doctor.

Fantastic experience: Dr Jeremy Wiseman is the physician I've been looking for. He took the time to listen to my broad spectrum of symptoms, did extensive tests, and provided me with empirical based solutions that have been very effective. His bedside manner is unparalleled, and his knowledge is very up-to-date. He communicates very well and is clearly compassionate about his vocation. The only problem is that he is in very high demand, if you get the opportunity to become one of his patients, consider yourself very fortunate. I would highly recommend him and I wish I had found him sooner.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Jeremy Wiseman is terrific -- an extremely knowledgeable thought leader in the realm of both advanced medicine & integrated wellness. Would highly recommend scheduling a visit.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Wiseman is an amazing family physician! I've been a patient of his for more than two years now. He's extremely meticulous and spends time answering all my questions. He does not try to rush you out - an experience that I've had with other physicians. Further, even his staff is helpful and compassionate. He always keeps a clean office. And also, the wait is always short. I can't possibly stress how helpful he has been in my life, especially in regards to providing me with details regarding my health and the choices I have available to me! Thanks Dr. Wiseman!

Negative experience: Dear friends, family, military, and anyone willing to listen let me tell you about my first time experience here and let me urge you to never come here even if it was your last resort. Let me start off by saying that my wifes appointment was today December 16th and we had booked this appointment since August. I called them about two weeks ago to their south location and they told me that they were no longer allowing new patients there and that we had been moved to the central location. Okay I thought that is fine and we were told by the receptionist both of our appointments were at 9am. So my wife and I wake up at around 7am to shower and prepare to go. We grab breakfast and then arrive at the central location at about 8:45-8:50. We are struggling to use their machine when one of the receptionists comes out and asks if we were new patients. We tell her we are and she goes back in to check us out. She then comes out and tells us, "oh your appointment was at 830am. You're going to have to reschedule." I am too upset at this point and go to my car. My wife comes out with an appointment card and its for February freaking first. I have her wait in the car and go back in. The receptionist tells me she could schedule my wife for Thursday but i told her we both work and took off for today. She gives me the number to their office manager Cindy and I leave her a voicemail. She doesn't attempt to call me back or apologize. Then the receptionists tells me there is nothing she can do and that our appointment was at 830am and that they only give 15 minutes before cancelling your appointment. I then tried to call back and cancel all appointments i had scheduled there but I was hung up on, so Wiseman family practice if anyone is reading this cancel all my appointments because if you treat your new patients like trash I would hate to see what it would be like to actually be a patient of yours. My wife felt bad but I let her know she deserves better than this place, and if those who are reading this have considered going there your family deserves better too.
