Positive experience: I guess we all have our down days. Some merchandise that purchased was on sale, and he rang it up at regular price. He looked at the price twice but did not correct the price. This made me feel like something wasn't right, so before leaving the I checked my receipt, he had charged me more. I think that he was in a hurry to go to lunch and just did not take the time or effort to correct his mistake.
Hi Sheena, we apologize that your experience at checkout didn't go as expected. It seems like this may have been a situation where the cashier scanned the item then checked the price to make sure it matched the sale sticker on the product but then when noticing that the sale wasn't correctly displaying in the Point Of Sale system he attempted to correct it manually but made an error in entry (i.e. he may have tried to adjust the price down to the correct one but hit the wrong key and adjusted it up since those keys on the register are very close to each other). We sincerely apologize for that error and if you haven't already been refunded then don't hesitate to come in or call the store and we'll correct that for you. Thank you for being a customer!

Negative experience: Walked in looking for shea butter. Even though the lady with the glasses saw me she didn’t greet me or ask me if I needed help. About 15 secs later another person walks in and the worker greets her and asked her if she needed help. As I am still clearly searching for my item, I noticed she sees me and still doesn’t acknowledge me. So that sent a clear message I wasn’t welcomed or my money is no good there and I simply left. P.S. I did find the shea butter, but due to the service I decided to take my money elsewhere.
We apologize if your experience at our store wasn't ideal. The staff member that you mentioned has Bell's Palsy (a partial facial paralysis condition) that affect's facial expression and sometimes vision, so it's very possible that she may not have seen you immediately or recognized that you were in need of assistance due to that current disability. She had taken several weeks off of work to recover from the condition and just recently came back on staff but still has some recovery left, so we apologize if that came off as a lack of acknowledgment. She is one of our most valued staff members who always strives to assist customers in finding the items they are looking for so we assure you that if you were not attended to in the manner you were hoping that it was not on purpose. We appreciate you coming into our store and hope you would consider coming again in the future.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience of customer service provided by Nicole at Golden Almond on Racetrack Rd. In fort Walton beach, Florida. I had visited a day prior for a product that was helping me thru the depression of losing a loved . The product was out of stock one recently. Rather than keep popping up each day, I decided to call and save myself a trip of disappointment. I got lucky and connected with Nicole who took my contact info and promised to reach to out once a fresh supply of the product arrived. She kept her promise and reached out to me the next day. Nicole keep up the great job of awesomeness.

Fantastic experience: Very cool store with lots of organic items, healthy selections of food, supplements, and other items. I found some really good ginger candies for my gut and organic protein snacks. They do a selection of soups and salads in the tiny cafe in the back which I’d like to try if I’m ever in the area.

Negative experience: This store makes me really uncomfortable! I encourage anyone of Ethnicity to avoid this store! I was literally spied on the entire time and when two what appeared to be white females entered the store, they were give liberty to move around, shop, and browse the store without being repetitively asked if they needed help or if someone could find something for them. As a matter of fact, one of those white women probably stole something, but you wouldn't know because you were so busy watching me! I would rather shop online and order my items. Stores like this WILL NOT last long. Maybe that's why the prices are so jacked up, because they lose customers on the daily for their approach and attitude towards ethnic people no matter how much they are trying to hide it! This land is not yours alone, IT's ETHNIC people's TOO!! IT was founded by ethnic people! and Built by ethnic people! This is the true history. I digress, but I will be going elsewhere or shopping ONLINE! I DO NOT ENCOURAGE ANYONE TO VISIT THIS STORE. IT was awfully noticed no matter how much you try to hide it that you think people that are ethnic are thieves!!! You are always noticed!! BUT NOW I AM TAKING NOTICE AND BANNING THIS STORE FROM MY LIST! AND OTHERS WILL BE AWARE OF THIS AND FOLLOW THIS SAME BEHAVIOR. AT LEAST NOW YOU WON'T HAVE ANY CUSTOMERS TO FOLLOW, BECAUSE THERE WILL BE NO CUSTOMERS
The Golden Almond has been serving our local community for 40 years, and as a matter of protocol the staff ask shoppers if they have any questions or need any assistance whenever they come in and occasionally again after they have been in the store a while. If you were asked if you were finding everything ok more than once it's probably because the other associates didn't realize you had already been asked... you were not being monitored or discriminated against in any way. Everyone's money is green here and no one is targeting you in our store.
If the other two women you mentioned in your review weren't asked if they had any questions upon entering the store then most likely the other staff were busy at the time and didn't immediately see them, but they were probably asked later if they needed any assistance once the staff were freed up. You mentioned that you were specifically monitoring these women while they were in the store, including accusing another one of these shoppers of "probably" stealing (you did not mention in your review why you thought this). It seems odd that you'd take it upon yourself to watch them so closely while your negative review is a complaint about yourself feeling watched... unless you were going out of your way to build some sort of case for a negative review, as if looking for a reason to feel personally discriminated against. As mentioned, we get customers of every background in our store and welcome everyone to shop here.
Regarding your comment about the prices being "jacked up," that's just incorrect. We constantly hear from customers that our prices are less expensive than other health related stores in our area. In fact, many of the supplement companies we carry (Bluebonnet, Nutrigold, Nordic Naturals, Enzymedica, etc.) we specifically have priced as low as MAP policy will allow, which is literally as low, or lower, than even online (actually, if you consider our discounts, like social media check-in discounts and our Frequent Buyer Card, our prices for those products are even lower than can be found online). We carry thousands of items so it's impossible to monitor if every single one is going to beat an online price at any given moment, but many will or be very close. Also, keep in mind that if you're used to shopping at Walmart or other megastores then you'll find that our store carries completely different brands/products since we're focused heavily on quality over quantity.
It's unfortunate that your shopping experience in our store was less than what you preferred, but this seems to stem from a misinterpretation of our staff simply asking if you needed any assistance more than once and feeling "monitored" when the staff may have just been doing their regular duties of putting incoming products up on the shelves and other tasks that involve being near customers as part of our daily operations. Please do not turn a local store review into an opportunity to talk about racial discrimination when there was none.

Fantastic experience: I forgot to bring my Passionflower on vacation and since I was going to be here for a week, I wanted to make sure I had some to help with sleep (not a medical claim just my personal experience). As soon as I walked into this store, it was good vibes everywhere. The guy working the register was so nice and helpful. I love this place for what they sell! They have a little bit of everything and they even make smoothies! I love that they have brands we know and they make their own stuff as well. Everyone was so nice (even the customers)! I love health food/supplements stores and this was one of my favorite that i've been to. I would definitely come back when in town again!
Negative experience: Went in to shop for herbs there's two attendants never acknowledged we were there . we walked around several times. Nothing . they walked around as if we were not there
Hi Sandra, we're sorry to hear that you didn't have an optimal experience at our store. On weekdays there are normally at least four or five staff on at any given time, so you may have come in on a Saturday when there are slightly less staff on at once. While we try to greet every customer as they come in, sometimes the staff can get occupied with multiple tasks or other customers and not immediately see someone as they enter; we also usually like to let customers shop without interrupting their browsing, so even when not busy the staff normally give everyone their space to shop at their leisure. If you ever need assistance or have a question please don't hesitate to approach a staff member as we are always happy to assist you in any way possible.
Fantastic experience: I've been going to Golden Almond for years. Outstanding inventory. I especially enjoy the soap pods for laundry. One box pretty much lasts a year. Don't forget to pick up Guncles cookes. Insta-adict. Haley is a wonderful saleswoman!
Fantastic experience: The lady that took care of my questions was very savvy and knowledgeable with all products I asked about! Was able to go in get exactly what I needed, and also splurged on a few other essentials just because of how much she knew and was able to detail about products! Will be going back in once a month! Bought local honey from them which is absolutely delicious! You just made a new customer for life! Fantastic experience: I recently called to price some CBD oil for my sweet dog who had developed lymphoma cancer. In my rambling I mentioned that I worked near by but didn't get off work until 7 and they closed at 6 and I wouldn't be able to get there in time. The young lady I spoke with (Paris) said it's for a puppy, I'll bring it to you if you want to prepay for it now. I can't say enough about how kind and compassionate this was. My baby girl ended up passing but the fact that Paris was so willing to help completely restored a little bit of my faith in humanity and gave me hope for caring for my companion and made her last few days more comfortable. Great place with amazing caring people. I'll be a customer for life

Negative experience: I live down the street, each time I've walked in I'm followed around as if I'm about to steal so I stopped going. I get my supplies online or elsewhere. I'm sick so, I needed an aroma oil, called and was told they had it. In desperation I went there and told the young blond lady I'd called. Her expression changed as she said loudly 'oh yea! I didn't recognise the accent'. Perhaps this is why I've been followed each time. stamp my card for the $24+ dollar purchase I'd just made..anyways they are pretty flippant about the card! I work at the base and have shared this with my team mates. Everyone who has gone to this over priced, badly maintained store has the identical experience of being followed and treated 'differently' because of ethnicity. Chances are that in FWB if people seem foreign they most likely work at the base or for the government and are doing more for freedom and liberty then this bunch ever will! She didn't offer nor did I dare ask her to
Hi Naureen, we're sorry that your experience of the Golden Almond wasn't what you were hoping for. As a policy, we don't follow anyone at this store... there are as many as 5 people on staff at any one time and in a store this size there will almost always be an employee around re-stocking shelves, checking on prices, etc., as customers shop, so staff are always around, but they are not following you. Please also know that we would not in any way discriminate against a customer based on the reasons you described in your review. The ENTIRE staff of this store aims to provide the best customer service to ALL guests (seriously, those aren't just words, we really are concerned about the experience of every customer that comes to this store). If we fall short of that in any way then please call or write the management of the store and it'll be looked into immediately. People of different nationalities come in this store all the time, and have for decades, and we completely welcome them. If you talked with someone on the phone and then spoke with them in person when you came in please rest assured that any comment about not recognizing your voice was meant as not recognizing that you were the same person from the phone and that if the staff member had recognized you as the same person that was inquiring about that particular essential oil they would have gotten it from the shelf for you and had it ready up front to make your trip more expedient (since you mentioned that you were ill at the time you probably didn't want to be shopping any longer than you had to). We hope that this addresses you concerns and that in the future you would consider contacting store management directly so that we can go over any situation more thoroughly.
Positive experience: This is a very customer- friendly place to shop. The prices though are a little steep because I think due to not much competition in the area. It's a one-stop shop for everything healthy.

Positive experience: Even though I do not believe in "health foods", I was surprised by how much they offer. Prices are ridiculous high for items that may or not be beneficial. I did like that they have a number of gluten free items for those with a true gluten allergy.

Since your review was from a couple of years ago we encourage you to stop in again to compare our prices to other health stores in the surrounding area since we've made a big effort in the past couple of years to be more price competitive. Since new ownership took over in 2014 we have lowered prices across the store, particularly with supplements (including our very price competitive Golden Almond Organics brand). While organic/non-GMO/sprouted/GF/etc. products are typically more expensive than their mainstream counterparts we do encourage you to take advantage of our social media check-in discounts, website discounts, senior discounts, and a frequent buyer card that save customers a substantial percentage off each purchase.
Negative experience: Inventory is very limited and consists of "healthy" versions of products marked at 100+% of normal products. Noodles become $11 Peanut butter becomes $10 A dozen eggs becomes $6 And so on Unless one is rolling in money, or needs one of the several obscure products that can be found here, I don't see any reason to come.

We do not mark up products "100%" as you mentioned; in fact, we encourage you to compare our prices to any health store in the surrounding area. Since new ownership took over in 2014 we have dramatically lowered prices across the store, usually far below suggested retail, which is why many of our customers have specifically told us they drive over from nearby cities here to shop here instead of similiar stores that might be geographically closer to them. While organic/non-GMO/sprouted/GF/etc. products are typically more expensive than their mainstream counterparts, none of the items you mentioned are priced that way in this store: our organic/pasture-raised eggs are under $6, none of our organic peanut butters are as high as the $10 you mentioned (many are several dollars cheaper, in fact), and none of our noodles (whether organic, gluten-free, or both) are nearly as high as you mentioned (they actually average under $5 per package). Perhaps you were remembering prices of other items you were looking at then associating them with products you mentioned. It's also important to note that while our grocery department that contains the items you mentioned do make up a substantial part of this store, we also have skincare and supplement departments that are even more heavily discounted in price, and we also have social media check-in discounts, website discounts, senior discounts, and a frequent buyer card that save customers a substantial percentage off each purchase.

Positive experience: Not as huge as a selection as I would like but they did have my vegetable glycerin that I needed and could absolutely not find elsewhere! Only negative I have to say is there is one staff member who is always exceptionally unpleasant with me, When I had asked her where a certain product was, she sneered that you didn't carry said product. I found it once I turned a corner and looked down. Shame on me I guess for not knowing where your product is. Everyone else is lovely though.
