Fantastic experience: The nurse and receptionist was very friendly and knowledgeable. Dr movitz was very friendly great bed side manner. Was very informative with what he does and what to except. Also explains the process. Generally wants the best for his patients before and in long run. I am glad I am doing this life changing experience with him and his staff. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I've been to a many of weight loss doctors and I've never had not one not prescribed me something. This doctor didn't prescribe me any medication at all. In other words in so many words, he told me I was too big for medicine and I needed to have surgery. He didn't say it like that but in so many words that's what he said..... He actually said to reach my goal of weight loss. Surgery will be my best option. Taking medication will only give me 14% of weight loss. Surgery will give me 45%..... So in so many words you need to have surgery taking medication. It's not going to help you even though you could lose up to 80 lb. Was under the assumption that any weight loss is good weight loss but I felt very discouraged when I left this doctor's office. Very discouraged....

Fantastic experience: Dr. Movitz is a phenomenal doctor. I followed him from Barix clinic bc he made me feel comfortable and was willing to work with me to establish a safe and healthy game plan. He doesn’t rush his patients and takes the time to explain and address your concerns, his own concerns from his standpoint and what steps are next. It is extremely important to me when I choose a care team that, first I can trust the doctor, secondly they want to work with my other doctors and specialists and thirdly they have my best interests at heart and Dr. movitz is that doctor who wants to learn about you before just jumping in so that you can have a successful experience with minimal complications. Dr. Movitz cares about his patients and has a wonderful bedside manner. I wouldn’t choose anyone else. I Trust him.

Positive experience: In 2022 I got my surgery with Dr Movitz and I went for my 6 week check up after surgery which was absolutely great! All while I had Blue cross blue shield ppo insurance, after divorce I never went back but didn’t feel the need to have to share, 2 yrs later he tells me I’m doing good with my weight loss and he asked questions as far as asking me what am I eating and vitamins that I’m taking and now he wants more blood work that I told him can be shared from Dr office and plastic surgeon that just took the same blood work that he needs, I’m very in tuned with my body and I don’t like gaslighting everytime he’d mention something and I give a response and he questions it as if Im wrong or am I sure. I told him what I came specifically for and he gave a referral for a surgeon that doesn’t even take my insurance, losing that much weight and still being in the shell has me depressed! Long story short, I won’t have state insurance for long, but while I do I would love to go to a place that takes me into consideration the same way a ppo does! He took his time with me purchasing something more so than asking me how am I with the reason I was actually there for! He was great for the Bariatrics part, but to be seen annually and keep him posted on progress, I will give a hard pass I want good medical advice and direction on what to do now while I have insurance through the state. I follow the rules and I’m doing exactly what I need to by the book, why not help me with what my insurance pays for that has me suffering now, or have a surgeon reference that takes my insurance The same way he made a sale off of me, I would love to be considered and helped, because this is the ugly part nobody speaks on or about.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Movitz has been very informative throughout my entire process and has excellent bedside manner, after my surgery I started getting really dizzy and I started swelling up badly but he ran every test possible to make sure I was ok, and after I got discharged he called me that Sunday to check on me, he genuinely cares about his patients and he will answer any questions you have pre and post surgery. I have never had a doctor that actually cared for his patients especially for their after care and I really appreciate him.

Negative experience: This dr is a straight up Expects you to sit through a 8 hour “consultation” with a classroom of other patients and when you find out your insurance doesn’t cover what you’re there for they send you a bill once a month for $150. Gtfoh

My surgery went very smoothly and I have minimal scarring. The team at the clinic were great just wish the nutritionist were more timely with answering email.
