Fantastic experience: I have been going to Dr. Hess for about 18 months. My husband has been getting adjusted here for over 7 years and been bragging about Dr. Hess. I used to see a different chiropractor and did not think that it mattered who I see. However, once I walked in here to get adjusted for the first time, I knew right away that he could heal me. In 2018 I suffered complications from a surgery and been suffering pain post surgery due a ton of scar tissue and lack of range of motion, which affected other parts of my body. I had no idea that it was literally affecting also my back the way that it did, given that I did not walk perfectly straight. I could not believe the release from head to toe that Dr. Hess applied very carefully and wisely, and he built it up with exellent plan of care until he told me that I was ready to get my full range of motion back. For the first time in years, I regained my range of motion for my left hip (which constantly hurt my entire leg too). He worked my scar tissue and addressed other physical matters with me such that I can do more testing with my primary care. I love his passion for healing people, and he takes his work very seriously. His number one goal is to heal! I love his genuine listening and sensitive intuition for over-all wellbeing. My boys love going there and get adjusted as well. Thank you, Dr. Hess!

Fantastic experience: Amazing, strong young healthy chiropractor. Extremely knowledgeable. A very good well listener. Great bedside manners. I use Dr. Hess for about four months and have nothing but good to say about him. I will be returning to him sometime soon. He worked diligently and gave me a lot of relief. I highly recommend him, to anyone who is in need of chiropractic relief. The secretary is also a very nice person clean office and fast waiting. Period. They respect your time.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Callaway is a chiropractor and she has got me walking without my walker when I first started coming I was in a wheelchair and a walker sometimes and now I am walking without pain going into the office from my car and walking to my car without my walker she has been amazing. I thank God for her. Also I have seen Dr. Machado Andrea Machado and she has been amazing also she is a FNP-BC. Thank you to this team of doctors.

Fantastic experience: Andrea is great! So glad I found her. I feel like she's a part of my life and not just a medical professional. Super personable and honest. I appreciate honestly more than anything these days so that was highly important to me. Fantastic experience: Dr. Hess is amazing! I needed a chiropractor , went online rather than looking up who was in my insurance plan. and went to Riverside Chiropractic Office, they were very nice did a back adjustment. I went home and looked up a chiropractor in my plan. That is how I found Dr. Hess. What an unbelievably different experience! I feel so much better , My alignment is better and I will continue to see Dr. Ryan Hess.

Negative experience: It's Sad that this office assumed my insurance was Obama Care . The woman I spoke with assumed HMO and I have a PPO . She kept saying in Network. I gave up It was like talking to a DEAF PERSON! Focused on Insurance than Patient

Fantastic experience: I looked up Dr.Hess through my insurance. I did not have any other reference. So you can imagine how worried I was. I had pain in my arm that is why I went there. He cracks our bones to put them in the right position. It is a little scary, but solved a lot of problems in my back, legs and neck. I always felt my legs pulling and after two sessions it is gone. My arm is still in treatment, but I had a 50% recovery in the first two sessions. He told me in the first visit that I will need around 6 sessions. I am very happy with the results. I really recommend him.

Fantastic experience: Great experience from the time you walk through the front door until you walk out. Dr. Hess is extremely knowledgeable, he listens to you and treats you from head to toe. My adjustments are always spot on for what I need. Dr. Hess goes above and beyond just doing an adjustment he will offer advice if you ask for it. His office is a calm space with positive energy.

Fantastic experience: I have been to many chiropractors in the last 40 years with a somewhat problematic lower back issue. I have been seeing Dr Hess at least the last five or six years, there is no question he is the best ever. My lower back, knees, hips, all are better now than they have been in years. For me is techniques have done wonders. I am in my early 70s.

Fantastic experience: I met Dr. Hess at Elite Fitness when he had his office there in 2013-2014. He was, hands down, the best DC I'd ever been to. I have since moved back to my home state of Wisconsin and haven't had the pleasure of visiting his practice in at least 6 years, but I'll tell you what- I still talk about this guy. Any time chiropractic comes up I go on about, "the best (expletive) chiropractor I've ever seen." I had an adjustment with a new doc today and it reminded me of how helpful Dr. Hess was. Since it doesn't do any good to brag about him to people who live 1,200 miles away, I thought I'd drop by and leave a review. Dr. Hess, you made a lasting impact on my health. I could never thank you enough, and hope you are well my friend.

Negative experience: More interested in billing claims than actual patient care

Fantastic experience: In 2018 I was sent to Physical Therapy for Sciatica on my right side. After 3 months in NY (I live upstate NY) I came to Vero Beach (snow bird) and went to 3 more months of therapy. I still had severe pain so... I went to see Dr Hess, within 3 weeks my pain was gone.. Yes gone! For 2 years no problem. In 2021 Sciatica was back, I couldn't even walk, pain level 10.. Luckily I was in VB so I called Dr Hess, I we able to see Dr Scienski .... with in a few weeks I was pain free again.. I Found both excellent, Dr Hess is Ruff and Tuff (in a very good way).. Dr Scienski is very caring and works gently. Both worked miracles for me (active 73 year old) I give them 10 stars 5 each! Also the staff as very helpful in everyway... DB

Fantastic experience: Dr. Hess is amazing!! I was suffering from severe shoulder and neck pain when I got to Florida in January. I started seeing results after a few sessions (which can be intense). I'm back in Ohio now, but my back and shoulders still feel better than they have in a long time. I highly recommend Dr. Hess and so thankful I found him and IRHC.

I have chronic lower back pain and have always been able to get relief by going to IR Health Center. The office staff is very pleasant and helpful and accommodating. Fantastic experience: Dr. Hess is amazing. Just when you think you had been to the best chiropractor in your life.....and then you go to Dr. Hess. By far the best adjustment I have ever had. In the past with prior chiropractors, I would go get an adjustment and typically my adjustment doesn’t last. Seriously, I have been to other offices and my back is out before I have even left the parking lot. Dr. Hess manipulates your muscles for this exact reason. I am someone who needed 2-3 adjustments a week. When Dr. Hess fixes my back/neck I can go 2-3 months now in between adjustments. Dr. Hess truly cares about your well being not just a simple fix for a subluxation that is surely to pop back out in no time. If you want to feel good, want longevity from and adjustment, or frankly want to sneeze and cough without fear of your back going out.....Go see Dr. Hess! Staff is welcoming and courteous too! Glad I found him.

Fantastic experience: I have a significant amount of shoulder, back, and neck pain due to my profession, and this is my first experience with a chiropractor. Dr. Scienski is phenomenal! Not only did he address all of my concerns, but he takes time to explain what he is doing, and more importantly, why. He also educates me every visit on how to improve my habits and posture to prevent further damage. He is very intentional in his adjustments and I feel so much relief after an appointment. The staff is very kind and attentive, and the office is clean, well decorated, and relaxing.

Fantastic experience: Indian River Health Center and Dr. Scienski specifically has been able to help me with a pulled muscle in my back to alleviate the pain. First visit ever to a chiropractor after over 60 on earth. I was originally skeptical (ignorant) but willing under the circumstances. Within one week (3 visits) I am pain free and moving almost as freely as prior to the muscle issue. Friendly and professional staff - bar none. No fuss, no hassle just great service and great results.

Fantastic experience: I was a patient of Dr. Hess several years ago, and was extremely impressed with his professionalism and especially the positive results I received from his chiropractic talents. Recently, I decided I needed some chiropractic work and made an appointment with Indian River Health Center at their new location. When I arrived at my appointment, I was surprised (and a little disappointed) that I was going to be worked on by Dr. Scienski, Dr. Hess's partner. Well, my disappointment quickly turned to gratefulness after Dr. Scienski only worked on me for a few minutes. Besides being a very friendly and personable man, he is an amazing chiropractor! I have suffered from very painful foot and heel pain for many years and 2 podiatrists did very little to help. Dr. Scienski has relieved this debilitating foot pain by 75% in only a few visits. I have now visited IRHC four times and seen both Dr. Hess and Dr. Scienski. I have felt wonderfully positive results in both my foot issues and lower back problems. They are both EXCELLENT chiropractors and I feel blessed to be the recipient of their healing hands. I also want to mention that the office and exam/work rooms are VERY clean and calming. Lastly, I want to praise the office staff...they could not be nicer, friendlier or professional. In other words, you could not find two better chiropractors on the Treasure Coast. I would highly recommend this practice to all of my friends and family. Thanks docs!!!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Indian River Health center for about 2 months now and feel great! I went to my appointment yesterday and part of my treatment is the decompression chair. The room lighting is always so brightly lit. But, they changed the lighting in the room and it was so much better. Good move with the lighting. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Hess is amazing. He has helped me in a fast time.has really been able to relieve my lower back si joint pain fast. He is also great at getting really deep with massage wand. His personality is great and he spends alot of time listening to your needs and does exactly what you need. His staff is also amazing the girl are very nice and sweet. You can't go wrong with this offic.dont go anywhere else.they are also one of the few that take my insurance Florida blue blue select. I have never felt more welcome and at ease at a doctors office. I would give them 10 starrs if I could.

Fantastic experience: When I came to Dr. Hess I could no longer even take walks. After being active and working out my entire life I had back injuries and surgeries that ended up causing so much pain. Dr. Hess is the most knowledgeable Chiropracter I have ever met. Because of him in a short time I am now swimming laps for 30 minutes a day. I never dreamed this day would come and I can’t tell you how grateful I am to Dr. Hess and his staff. They are the kindest people I’ve ever met and they love what they do. Dr. Hess has a passion for helping people and I’m so grateful I found him I highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: This was my best Chiropractor experience. It was easy to schedule an appointment and understand the cost. Dr. Hess spent time to understand my pain and to uncover areas I did not realize were affecting me. The adjustment process involved a head to toe work up that left me both cringing and laughing but all for the greater good. He didn't hold back or make me feel like I would need to see him over and over again. He just got the job done to make me feel better in our session. I am sure he knows that I will be back.

Fantastic experience: I just had my first appointment with Dr. Ryan. First the office is very clean and modern. The ambiance is very calm. They have some music playing. Nothing with a ton of bass just fun songs. Dr. Ryan focuses on all aspects of your health. He discusses what other aspects of your life and how it can affect your overall health and chiropractic care. I appreciated the good conversation about his motorcycle and all his adventures. He was incredibly knowledgeable and understanding. I made a weird face during the manual adjustment and we had a good laugh on how I'm expecting something painful when in fact he's very gentle. I can't wait for my next visit! Thank you to the staff for being so flexible! Thank you Dr. Ross for the advice!

Fantastic experience: Though I have not visited this office, I was a patient of Dr. Hess' for a long time at another practice and must say that he helped every issue I was having during that time. With chronic pain for years, and having been a chiropractic patient of several other DCs, I was so amazed by the technique of Dr. Hess and his ability to adjust in places that never had before, to make the pain go away! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Hess and his skill as a chiropractor.

Negative experience: Most unprofessional office I have ever had to deal with. Either they do not know how to bill insurance or they are running a scam. I was over charged per their contracted allowed amount. They billed my insurance for services I didn't receive. I had to demand a receipt after 5 visits and was told it would be mailed and it never was. I took my EOB's to the office and was given the runaround. I was told they would refund the over payment, I was given a reciept and told it would be mailed. When I said I would wait they came up with some theory that I owed them. My insurance is now sending them letters and I am contacting my Lawyers. Luckily I have legal insurance.

Fantastic experience: I am so happy that I found Dr Hess and Crystal at Indian River Chiropractic. I have been to a lot of chiropractors over the years, and I have found them to be the best. I love the therapeutic massage and the adjustments have really helped me. This facility has state-of-the-art equipment and Dr Hess stays right on top of the latest technology to help his patients heal. I have recommend 3 others to him already and they are all very happy with their experiences here also. I highly recommend them.

Negative experience: This office is the least professional Chiropractic office that I have ever attended. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY. They will prey on your ignorance. I have received Chiropractic care for years (and even worked for one), so I am quite familiar with the techniques, care, and pricing. Quite early into the experience, I knew that they were trying to sell me a load of malarkey. The reasons I recommend not using them are as follows: 1. The doctor's wife, Mindy, is the patient educator on staff. She is a school teacher by trade and has ZERO medical training. She actually made me read the IRC brochures aloud to her (like a student) to "educate' me about Chiropractic Care. She was well aware of my familiarity, so I'm still unclear what the purpose of this assignment was. I can only guess this is how the grooming process starts for a person who is new to Chiropractic, and will be taken advantage of here. In the two hours I wasted in this location, I did not see the doctor, and was not adjusted. That is unheard of in a legitimate office. This office has no respect for your time. 2. Instead of having the doctor perform an X-ray to look at my vertebral bones (or even perform a palpation), the patient educator took photos of me with her iPhone to then be analyzed by an app. Chiropractors do use these apps at health fairs, but not in office when an X-Ray machine is available. She also measured my left/right cervical turning radius and told me I was significantly restricted. This was the first time I have ever heard this in my entire life, despite seeing many doctors. Of course, my assessment should have been performed by Dr. Schiermyer. This office does not care about your peace of mind. 3. In my final 15 minutes in the office, the patient educator came to tell me the bad news. I was basically falling apart according to her husband (who was too busy to meet with me directly), and it was a miracle that I was not in chronic pain. The only way to get me properly aligned was if I came in 3 times a week for treatment for several months on end. The bill for all this service was $6000 and it would all need to be paid up front (she assured me that this makes it easier). I literally laughed in her face and told her that is NOT how Chiropractic care works. You co-pay until you hit your deductible, and then you do not pay anymore. I am lucky to have a great plan and would have paid hardly anything out of pocket, but this arrangement would have ripped my insurance company off. Places like this are the reason that health insurance is so expensive in our country. This office does not care about your finances, and in fact, will aggressively try to separate you from them. In conclusion, all I can say is find another Chiropractor. There are many other offices in Vero Beach that offer quality care. You will see that Indian River Chiropractic constantly runs deals and groupons to get you in the door, but that is all a ploy. I have consulted with other Chiropractors, it is likely that they are using a paid management service to augment their business. Use your common sense, and find an office worthy of your hard-earned money. P.S. I'm sure you are wondering how every other review for this business is 5 stars, which is an incredible feat for any business to accomplish (let alone this one). If you look closely at the names, you might just notice a Melinda Schiermyer. She is the doctor's wife and the on-site patient educator. Would a legitimate office have their employees perform their own Google reviews? I think not. There are also reviews by people with the same last names, who have only reviewed IRC in their account history. None of this surprises me; be very wary of these folks. I honestly wonder how they sleep at night.
