Negative experience: Staff was incredibly rude. I was visiting a week ago because I used to come with my grandparents and thoroughly enjoyed coming here. Safe to say, I'm never going back. It's a shame because I honestly used to love coming here.
Fantastic experience: I have been working out at Healthtrax in Glastonbury since I was 14, I am 19 now and have had amazing results. I even started working here because I love it so much here!

Fantastic experience: HealthTrax Glastonbury has been an amazing experience for me. The whole staff has been welcoming and friendly, the facility and the equipment are clean and well maintained. I have a personal trainer, Mike Petillo who is the best of the best: positive, professional and vigilant. He notices small details, builds skills and confidence, and is sensitive to individual needs. In the months since I’ve been working with Mike I feel stronger, more confident and have notably greater endurance.
Positive experience: No gym is worth more than $30/month. This one is over $60!!! Even if you go there every day (and majority of people won't) it is still not worth it. Variety of amenities is good, but they just now changed their mind about massage chairs, that is an extra $10/mo. You want people to pay almost $75/month, are you kidding Also, the massage chair on the left against community room leaks water anyways. And the male young receptionist was so dumb and slow over the phone that I wonder if he is on something. After a 20-minute conversation about rescheduling a tour appointment, I arrived, only to find out he failed to schedule appointment anyways. After 20 minutes of hand-holding over the phone with someone who sounded like they are on p0t! The female receptionist on the other hand was very energetic and chatty. She gave me a good tour. But I am so busy (or lazy, whichever one you want to choose) that I have not been there in a week.
Negative experience: Full basketball court, towels upon arrivals, full locker room, kids center, family membership, up to date equipment, lots of TVs and more. That's not a current description, but what the club used to offer. There is absolutely no reason to think this place is even close to what it was 10 years ago, yet membership fees are higher with significantly less amenities? Luckily, the Edge is so crowded in town people are still attending (silver sneakers program?) but in reality, is a 25-30 dollar a month fitness club now that is charging 65. The extra 35-40 a month is to cover poor management decisions. Used to love this place, sucks it can't go back to what it used to be.
Negative experience: Edit 5/2025. Filthy showers and mold growing on the shower curtains for weeks and nobody cares. Nothing healthy about this Healthtrax. After about a year of extensive, still on-going "renovations" it has become a significantly downsized facility, about 1/2 of it's former size. Now It is tight space everywhere. One group class room also serves as storage for spin bikes, further minimizing the space for other classes. Group classes are scheduled for people who do not work, like at 9 am or 4 pm. Very small locker area; only 2 shower stalls. Some machines have been there since I joined in 2006, still functional but tired. They did add a few new pieces of equipment recently. The front desk people are lethargic. One of the bench press lifting machines had a broken cable, which can obviously be a hazard. When alerted the front desk about the issue, I was told that they are aware and "on it", but nobody cared to put an "out of order" sign on the machine. Grossly expensive, currently paying an outrageous $136 per month for a family plan, for a mediocre facility and service that has steadily diminished over the years.
Negative experience: No one ever answers the telephone.pools do not get cleaned often enough.bathrooms in pool area need a good scrubbing. And the jacuzzi is broken very often.
Fantastic experience: Great Group Fitness Classes!
Positive experience: It was a good place to workout but, recently w all the renovations is a is a hassle to take a for the men ... make you go to the shower down stairs.. have to wait your turn and have some stuff rushing out .. especially on Saturdays and Thursdays nights.
Fantastic experience: Physical therapy here is the best I have experienced in all my 20+ years of PT

Negative experience: This used to be one of the top gyms in the area. It was pricy, but worth the extra money (almost 4 times the going rate for a gym). The management got cheap and began to downsize it by 1/3 to reduce the rent. The construction has been going on for almost 4 months and is not even close to being done. What is worse is that they did not get rid of any equipment so that it is so close together that it is uncomfortable for the clients to use. There are better places to spend your money.
Hello! First let me say thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We can only get better with feedback from our members. We understand that the renovation process can be frustrating. We want nothing more than to show off the new layout of our center. Unfortunately, we do have to wait for the floorplan to be complete before we will be able to re-arrange any of the equipment, but I have passed this feedback along to management to see if there is something we can do to improve spacing in the interim. Hello Surge, our membership team spoke with your wife initially in regard to our cancellation policy when she signed up for membership. I believe there was some confusion when your wife tried to cancel the end of the month and we do have a 30 Day cancellation policy. We make sure to communicate that with every member who signs up at membership and it is also in our membership agreement forms that every member signs. I understand you were very upset when you spoke with our team member to follow up on this. I am sorry we were not able to resolve this for you as it was so late in the month and we wish you all the best in your health and wellness goals.

Negative experience: Was member for 2 years with family but recently cancelled membership as it has turned to be the dirtiest place ever. They never clean the bathrooms and shower area. You will find bandages with blood on floor for a weeks on floor in shower area but no one will pick up. I have not seen cleaning guy at all. They have started charging higher price to spread disease

Positive experience: Good place, been enjoying it for years. However, people are hanging out at machines and talking with friends or on their phones for extended periods. Some people do both. Just spent a couple hundred dollars with a personal trainer and can’t get on machines. I only like to go for 20 to 30 minutes. Help, this place really needs improvement here. As in REALLY.

If there are no other machines available and a member is occupying the equipment but not utilizing it, you can handle in one of two ways 1) speak with a membership advisor so we can resolve immediately or 2) say to the member, "would you mind if I work in with you?" That way, everyone gets fair use of the equipment. I have forwarded your comments to management to see how we can improve upon this in the future. Thank you for your feedback!
Fantastic experience: We recently joined...they have several aqua fit classes. So my wife loves the place....we are there 5 days a week.. sometimes twice a day... that's how much we like this place...

Negative experience: The woman in charge of memberships was not able to answer any of my questions. She had to go to someone else 2 other times for answers on prices(that are always the same 50$) I called in with a question about a pool time slot and the person who answered the phone had not a clue about time slots for the pool on the app. Mind you I was calling to ask because some old lady was grumpy I was in the therapy pool without a reservation. It doesn’t seem like everyone is aware about how these reservations work. 3rd time Pam said she is the manager. Yet she couldn’t answer my questions. Does anyone have a clue to what’s going on in the place? I keep hearing them talk about kids club coming back. This is the only gym with a pool around. Go above and beyond and not just with the prices.

It is not always a set price, and we want to make sure we are giving you the most accurate information possible. I am sorry for any inconvenience the reservation app caused you. Pool lane times can be reserved by the app, and we had some newer staff that were not aware of that fact yet. We hope to make your next experience a better one and appreciate your feedback.
Negative experience: First of all , I would like to begin the review by announcing that the people in this facility are very disrespectful and really impolite to my special needs brother who really wants to use the therapy pool but every single time we go to this pool , there are always nasty people constantly nagging at us saying that we can't use this pool and never get the opportunity to actually use it. The customers believe that they have every right to kick us out even though we booked a time to utilize the therapy pool. All the rules and regulations in this pool are very strict and very irritating. It is very unfair that they discriminate against a child with disabilities and we hope that everyone can respect our needs. In conclusion , our experience at Healthtrax Fitness and Wellness has been very disappointing. Thank you for reading our review.
Fantastic experience: I have been working out here for at least 3 years. A very good variety of equipment. Free weights and machines. Lots of space for floor exercises. A lap pool is also available. It never seems to be excessively crowded. I am really pleased to be working out here.

Negative experience: Won't answer my calls and there's no one at the front desk. I guess they don't want my money
Fantastic experience: Modern, well maintained equipment, friendly staff. Currently, undergoing renovations but still a great place to work out.
Negative experience: I signed up for month to month for $67, so I can cancel anytime and I cancelled because i am not using it. They charged me for another month $67 and a cancellation fee of $37.22 which they did not tell about and just charged me.

Negative experience: Healhtrax. Are THIEVES...Signed up as a new member..went 3 times...Put a lock on my locker....They CUT it off...and Stole my $100 backpack...BEWARE...They are THIEFS!! When I went to front desk to cancel my membership...THEY WERE SO RUDE!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!

Negative experience: Very pricey, which would have been ok had it been the only issue. The swimming pool is almost never available on normal times for family time, only an hour a day which is ridiculous. They get you with the yearly contract which is impossible to get out of. Even though I’ve been asking them for months to close it, they made me come in to do it, which took a few weeks and then they still charged me an extra month beyond my monthly contract end date to close it. Which is just plain awful! And refused to back down. The staff just don’t seem to care and are very arrogant. The membership manager couldn’t care less about the well being of the members. Would find another gym for this much money.
Positive experience: Good gym, good equipment, and good staff. There is also a pool with sauna if you would like. However, there is no internet wifi in this facility.
Negative experience: Could easily get five star but the wifi is not reliable at all and you cannot stream while your are on treadmill or doing other workouts. The sad part is the staff don't care about that no matter how many times you ask them about wifi. I should talk to the manager.

Fantastic experience: This Gym is so encouraging and motivating from the group class instructors, personal trainers, front desk staff and fellow members. I haven't met a person I didn't like there. They even have inspirational quotes in the women's locker room! what a great environment. Thank you for the happy place :)
Negative experience: My husband and I are new Silver Sneakers members. We went into Healthtrax in Glastonbury and asked if we could be shown around the facility. We were given forms and were told to get the forms signed by our doctor and come back for a tour at 2:00 on Tuesday or Thursday with the forms completed and signed. We considered this and felt it was unreasonable to expect us to spend money at the doctor’s office just to get a tour of the fitness center. So I called Healthtrax and the person I spoke to (different person) said of course we could come in any time and get a tour without a signature from our doctor. So we went to Healthtrax again, and a third person told us we could only tour at 2:00 on Tuesday or Thursday, but we didn’t need to get the form signed by the doctor unless we decided we wanted to join. Even though I explained to her I had been told that morning that we could come in for a tour any time, she said if they operated that way, she would be giving tours all day. So, three different things from three different Healthtrax employees. They need to get their policy straight and have all employees on the same page. We will not be going back a third time. There are other quality fitness centers in the area that participate in the Silver Sneakers program.

Negative experience: There aren’t a lot of opportunities for kids to swim. Kid swim is once a day for a hour and pool can become crowded. Adults kick the kids out in mean ways and won’t share lanes so kids can’t swim DURING kid swim. Pool is too small. Otherwise it’s ok facility. Not great.

Fantastic experience: This gym is a health gem. I absolutely love the pool, hottub and weight areas. The staff is always very friendly and it is kept very clean. Their InBody scan is incredible and provides a wealth of useful personalized information for you to hit your ideal health goals without guesswork. Family swim in the evenings is particularly fun and offers a time for the kids to play together while the adults relax.

Positive experience: I would have given more stars because I love our class instructors, but we are constantly out of certain weights (particularly 8 pounds). I am so happy that lower steps were ordered and new mats are on the way, but when you have to go from 5 lbs to 10 lbs, that's not a good option. I also wish there were 6 and 7 lb weights.
