Fantastic experience: Powerhouse is exceptional. I've been here for 10 years, and the gym has grown, but the thing that remained the same is the friendly and helpful staff, and the welcoming vibe of the gym and its members. I unfortunately had to end my membership due to moving for work, and unfortunately I can't pick this gym up and move it with me or I would. I loved my time at powerhouse, and it is an incredible gym with an incredible staff

Fantastic experience: In a unique, restored industrial building, Shenandoah Powerhouse has all of those old school gym vibes that many of us love. Add to that, the owners and staff are second to none! Providing a clean and comfortable place to work out, no matter your fitness level- whatever you may be looking for, I'm certain they have it. They offer ample equipment, HIIT training, group fitness classes, and even childcare during certain hours. The trainers are friendly and knowledgeable, specialize in many different areas, and can provide customized workout plans depending on your goals. I had been out of the gym for many years and finding a place like this to return to made all the difference in the world for me. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a gym!!

Powerhouse is more than just a gym, it’s a community full of amazing people and there is something there for everyone. From someone just starting out to an advanced athlete looking to compete, Powerhouse has what you need to be successful. The Powerhouse team is top tier with the best trainers. They work hard every day to ensure their members have a clean, motivating, respectful environment, and they treat you like family. I joined Powerhouse in 2019 because I knew a little about a lot and I wanted to take my fitness to the next level. With the training, nutritional coaching, guidance and support of the Powerhouse team I earned my OCB Pro card in Women’s Physique my first time competing June of 2024. Powerhouse is my favorite place to be and my workout is always the best part of my day!

Fantastic experience: If you've ever wanted to feel like Rocky Balboa without the inconvenient side effect of living in a movie montage, this is the place for you. First off, the free weights are excellent. They range from "I'm just here for the Instagram photo" to "I could probably lift a car if I tried." I managed to bench press the bar, and only the bar, but I did it with style. The staff cheered me on like I was competing in the Olympics. The trainers here are like motivational quotes come to life. They're friendly, supportive, and have an uncanny ability to appear right when you're about to cheat on your last rep. They even offer personalized advice, like how to untangle yourself from the resistance bands without looking like a flailing octopus. The track is perfect for those who enjoy the illusion of progress. I’ve managed to jog a full lap without collapsing, which is a new personal best. The treadmills have multiple TV's above them to distract you from the reality that you're running in place. I enjoy pretending I’m jogging through the Food Network channel. Finally, the variety of weight equipment is astonishing. There are machines for muscles I didn’t even know existed. One of them looked like a medieval torture device, but the friendly staff assured me it was for my "core," which I assume is gym-speak for "entertainment for other gym-goers." Overall, Shenandoah powerhouse is a great place to get fit and occasionally humiliate yourself in a supportive environment. Just remember to wipe down the equipment after use—no one likes a sweaty bench.

Fantastic experience: A few words on my experience at this gym: I've been a member of various gym's back in Europe and in the US (Charlottesville) - some of which were premium or boutique, some were "big box" gyms -, but never have I experienced such a friendly, clean and welcoming atmosphere. The staff know each member by name and make it a priority to greet you personally. Shenandoah Powerhouse is also superior to comparable alternatives in terms of equipment variety and condition, cleanliness, and overall condition. In short: It's the best gym I've ever been a member of!

Fantastic experience: Clean, spacious and well laid out gym with an excellent selection of equipment. Ken at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming, and even gave me $5 off the usual fee for a day pass because I came in close to closing time! That's the kind of hospitality you only get in a small town. I'll definitely be back every time I'm in Waynesboro.

Fantastic experience: Discovered this gem of a gym in a comic book advertisement. Had a handsome friend offer me a day pass as a guest and took the chance. I discovered well maintained equipment and the most generous staffing of any gym. Apparently the building used to be used to store ammunition during WW2, and now it is a gym. It gives off patriotic feelings every time you cross the threshold. I would still have my membership but I kept sniffing the equipment. I will definitely return after my 2 month suspension.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been training for the NoBull CrossFit Games and the CrossFit gyms here have been very unhelpful and very arrogant. I search for a new gym and found Shenandoah Powerhouse. The owners Wayne and Lindsey have been the best support and the greatest team I’ve met. I feel so welcome and at home when I walk in. The people there are also so friendly and helpful when it comes to asking advice. Isaac also showed me around and welcomed me in and made me feel happy about joining. I 110% recommend this gym. They are getting me back in shape after injury and they will be the only ones I thank when I win Rookie Of The Year at the Games in 2024. Thank you, Shenandoah Powerhouse.

Fantastic experience: By far the best gym I have ever been to. I truly cannot say enough good things. The gym is always spotless, machines are always in working order, and the team is always so kind and welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxed and everyone is beyond encouraging. It truly feels like home when you walk in. My husband and I travel for work alone, and we found the comfort of family at Shenandoah Powerhouse. It’s nice that even when you’re hundreds of miles from home, someone still knows your name. If you’re thinking about going to this gym, think no more, just go. There is something there for everyone- beginner to expert. I promise you won’t regret it. Thanks for an awesome 6 months, Shenandoah Powerhouse. We miss you already!

Fantastic experience: Really excellent space. I was in town for a few days and it was perfect gym-away-from-home with a guest pass. Lots of equipment, classy space, and really nice dedicated deadlift area. Will be back next time I’m in town.

Positive experience: I feel very comfortable here. The location is excellent. It’s very clean. However, I’m elderly and would suggest a mix of music i. e. 70’s, pop. Staff is friendly and very helpful. I’m very happy I chose Shenandoah.

Fantastic experience: This is the best gym I’ve ever been to. The staff is friendly and courteous, as are the members. I’ve never experienced a more polite membership at any gym, which is particularly important because gyms can be intimidating places. A lot of what makes this gym special stems from the owners. They know their members by name. They are knowledgeable about fitness and it shows in how the equipment in the gym is laid out and how well maintained the equipment is. Importantly, the gym is always impeccably clean. Members and staff alike are diligent about spraying and wiping down equipment after use. Shenandoah Powerhouse is a wonderful gym home, no matter if you’re new to working out or a seasoned bodybuilder.

Fantastic experience: I lived near Waynesboro for a year and this was my gym the whole time. The staff was very friendly and always willing to chat. The gym was full of all the equipment you would ever need. I have worked out in every type of gym across the country and Shenandoah Powerhouse is easily my favorite!

Fantastic experience: I wish there were more stars to give them!! I love this gym, the owners, the staff, the members...everything!! Although I no longer live in the area, it was by far my favorite place to workout. I enjoyed the previous (Fishersville) location but the move to a bigger facility in downtown Waynesboro proved to be amazing too! I wish I could have taken it all to Houston with me however I have fond memories for a lifetime!! Powerhouse Gym rocks!!

Fantastic experience: The new Powerhouse location is awesome! Wayne and Lindsay have done an amazing job turning a historic Waynesboro location into a great place for a workout. The facility is always clean and they have a huge selection of equipment for all fitness levels. I used to be intimidated by free weights, but after a few sessions with Wayne, I’m definitely more confident in my workouts. The HIITFIT Anytime is great for those days when you only have 30 minutes to squeeze in a calorie burning workout. Plus my two kiddos love the child care! Highly recommend this place!

Negative experience: There is a smell there don't know what it is but I couldn't take while I worked out only a member for two days

Fantastic experience: I was traveling for work and worked out here for $25 for the week. Anyone who travels for work knows how hard it is to find a nice reasonable place to workout. Very clean and well put together, good equipment and great people. Wayne the owner seems like he's always there handling things. Hope to travel for work here again just so I can workout here. Lol.

I like a place where I can work out independently and this is the place to be. Haven't been there in like 3 months, but today is a new day!!! Going back today, to get it back together.

Fantastic experience: I'm in town visiting family for a month or so, they gave me a great deal for a one month membership. Staff is always polite, approachable, and easy to work with. Facility and locker room is always clean, weights were properly racked, and equipment is in good working order. It's not a huge space but they've got everything you could need for bodybuilding, powerlifting, crossfit, cardiovascular conditioning, etc. I recommend Powerhouse over Gold's, AMC, and Anytime Fitness...

Coming from the west coast I am used to huge gyms with hundreds of people and a staff that doesn't know you from anyone else. I love that Lindsay and Wayne, the owners, are actively involved in the gym and that I always get acknowledged by my name. Awesome place! Super highly recommend!!!

Fantastic experience: I hate to exercise! But Lindsay makes it "fun"! She and Wayne know their stuff and are so pleasant to work with. I am not in any way, shape or form a "gym rat" but, I actually enjoy my time at Powerhouse. It is clean, well organized and the staff could not be nicer. I find I am actually beginning to look forward to my time at the gym! (I can't believe I just said that! :-)

Fantastic experience: For years, I worked out rigorously at least six days each week and ate relatively clean, yet I was not quite satisfied with the results in relation to my efforts in the gym. With my exercise regiment and healthy lifestyle, I had reached a plateau. My goal has never been to lose pounds on a scale; it’s been to lose body fat. Wellness is not determined only by a number on a scale. With the SPG nutrition plan, developed by a registered dietician, along with guidance from my trainer, Lindsay Williams, I was able to take my fitness and nutrition to a whole new level. This nutrition plan in addition to HiitFit30 workouts jump-started my metabolism to help me burn fat and gain lean muscle. I’ve never felt stronger or healthier! The nutrition plan allows me to eat foods I enjoy and I never go hungry. I have the energy I need to complete my high intensity workouts, teach Spinning and stay motivated in my demanding job. Over the past six weeks, I’ve lost 15 pounds of fat mass and gained 9 pounds of lean muscle. By sticking with the plan, I’ve decreased my body fat percentage by nearly 10 percent. It’s been a great transformation and I feel empowered to continue to follow nutrition plan into the future. Fantastic experience: I joined Shenandoah Powerhouse Gym a little over a year ago. I had never worked out prior to membership; however, I have become passionate about fitness since then. Powerhouse offers a variety of classes. Likewise, the facility has great equipment for individual workouts. Childcare and children's fitness classes are also available.The staff is always friendly and willing to help members accomplish their fitness goals. I highly recommend this fitness facility to anyone who is seeking an awesome gym experience. Shenandoah Powerhouse Gym has something for everyone!
