Clarity Physical Therapy and Wellness Center

Fantastic experience: Some years ago, I was involved is a very serious automobile accident. As such, I am no stranger to PT (Physical Therapy).  So, when my Primary Care Physician recommended PT for a recently diagnosed arthritis condition, I started my research by asking friends and family for referrals.  Even though Clarity was in the lead by far at this point, I developed a list of the top three and visited each of these facilities - just so I would have my own firsthand knowledge of equipment and personnel.  Obviously, I chose Clarity.  From the moment I entered the Clarity facility I was met with a professional and friendly greeting.  They treated me as a person, not "number".  The "introduction /case history interview" meeting was thorough and comprehensive.  I started treatment immediately after that initial meeting.  There was a marked improvement with range of motion and pain reduction even after the first visit.  At the beginning of each subsequent session, I was always asked “how is it feeling, any changes”, etc. They listened to my replies and administered the appropriate treatment. And speaking of treatment, the Clarity staff always demonstrated their exceptional skill level and comprehensive command of Physical Therapy at every visit.  In short, I would use them again and highly recommend them to anyone. Fantastic experience: What a great overall experience!! The laid back and friendly environment was perfect for me to relax and enjoy my therapy. Going from minimal movement and pain constantly in my jaw I was stuck literally. After the first session I was amazed by the way I was able to move my jaw like I haven’t been in years. Fantastic experience: I had a calf injury that I thought was going to make not able to run or walk for weeks. In a matter of 2 minutes, Ellen was able to see that my issue, as well as other back pain was easily treatable with simple stretching and strengthening exercises. I highly recommend Clarity physical Therapy and Wellness Center. Like Ellen says, “you should not be living in pain every day!”

Fantastic experience: I started therapy with Clarity in November to treat plantar fasciitis which I had been battling for one year. After unsuccessful steroid injection therapy, my physician recommended physical therapy. I researched therapists in the area and was impressed with the reviews and holistic approach Clairty takes with patients. My therapist Jay Ruben was absolutely phenomenal. He was patient, insightful and so knowledgeable in treating my issue. After two months, my symptoms were substantially eliminated and we determined I no longer needed therapy. Unfortunately, after two weeks of being therapy free, I unfortunately injured my back during a personal training session and aggrevated a herniated disk and bulging disk issue. I immediately returned to Clarity and Jay for help. The pain I was experiencing was indescribable! Jay and the Clarity team immediately tended to my issues and got me back on my feet in short order! After 4 weeks of therapy twice per week, my symptoms and issues have been completely resolved! I cannot speak highly enough for Craig (owner) and his entire team. From the moment you enter their facility, the desk personnel treat you with such kindness and their follow through with appointment reminders and scheduling is impeccable! I have referred a close friend who has battled chronic back issues for years to Jay and Clarity. He started therapy with them a few weeks ago and like me, is already experiencing great improvement. Clarity Physical Therapy deserve the highest rating and praise for their services and their team from my perspective and experience.

Fantastic experience: “Home Sweet Home” is the best way to describe my experience at Clarity Wellness Center. The clinic I visited was in Western Springs, a short distance from my home which made my 2x weekly visits convenient. From the moment I entered, I was warmly greeted with friendly, helpful receptionists followed up with knowledgeable, skilled and caring therapy by Craig. After 4 months of consistent visits, I was ready to implement what I practiced each week on my own. Sadly, I had to say goodbye. Yet, I know I have a group of supportive, caring professionals to bring my body back to wellness at any time. Thank you Clarity team! You are the best.

Fantastic experience: Cannot more highly recommend Clarity PT. I suffered with low back and glute pain for 2.5 years following pregnancy. Tried everything to no avail. Started seeing Ellen and within a few session of PT and dry needling, my pain was gone. Her knowledge, genuine care, and attention to patients is incredible. My experience with her has honestly been life changing. The clinic in Clarendon Hills is brand new, always so clean, and the entire staff is so friendly. Definitely check them out!

Clarity truly gives you the attention that you deserve so you can get back to feeling great again! I'm glad I chose Clarity PT to help me with my aching sore back. The variety of treatments at the personalized intensity levels are helping me get back to the activities I enjoy.

Fantastic experience: Clarity is beyond first class. I have been an athlete for 45 years and have been to many P.T. centers for injuries and post surgery rehab and this is by far the most impressive. All of the physical therapists are well trained, competent, knowledgeable, and kind. Craig who I work with and his wife Ellen are the owners and have many advanced certifications. However, in my educated opinion there is more to to rehab than just medical and technical knowledge. They understand that they are not just working on a knee or a spine but a human being who is in pain and/or suffering from a loss of mobility and their mood and self worth need help as well. Every single employee here shows empathy and is uplifting. They have created a welcoming environment that bolsters the human spirit and that helps those currently physically challenged thrive. I recommend Clarity without reservation or hesitation.

Fantastic experience: I don’t know where to begin with Clarity Physical Therapy. What started out as myself self diagnosing my shoulder pain. Also my sister encouraging me to go to PT. I have tried PT in the past for an ankle injury and they did nothing. So I was very skeptical about going to PT. My daughter-in-law suggested I see Craig and he was very Knowledgeable and professional. He had a plan that he followed through and got me back on the right path. The whole staff is wonderful, kind, compassionate and caring. They truly listen with their whole heart and help you through what you’re dealing with whether pain or dealing with insurance. Fantastic experience: Clarity is an incredible physical therapy facility. I went in with acute debilitating back pain (I’m 33 yrs old, so this was not usual or expected). Not only was the supporting staff extremely accommodating, friendly, and attentive, but each of the physical therapist are phenomenal. Kevin and Don gave me personalized attention and developed a treatment / exercise plan that helped relieve the acute pain and is intended to strengthen the areas that caused the problem in the first place. Fantastic experience: I recently had an unexplained episode of Vertigo Craig at Clarity was able to fit me in the same day and resolve the spinning. He performed the Epley maneuver along with dry needling , stretching and electrical stimulation. Craig is extremely knowledgeable in healing the human body. One session with Craig and you will understand he is a person who leads by example in guiding clients to help their bodies recover from injuries. Clarity is a unique place that offers multiple therapies to accommodate all facets of recovery. Fantastic experience: Clarity Physical Therapy is the kind of place you wish every health care provider was like. The therapists are at the top of their game. Any question I have ever raised has been answered fully and completely so that I understand why I am doing an exercise and how it will help. In addition to quality of care, the people are genuine. They care about you and your life and vice versa. It makes doing the work of Physical Therapy enjoyable, and like the song says, “a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down!”

Fantastic experience: In October 2021, I blew my L5/S1 disc for a 2nd time. 20 years earlier, my first recovery was a walk in the park. Apparently back recoveries aren't the same in your 40s as they are in your 20s. Whilst the team has already done great work with both my parents, aunt, and uncle, I am so grateful for being introduced to Craig and the great team at Clarity. I was up front about my hesitation about getting "help" with my recovery--and rather than give me a sell job and a bunch of cookie cutter answers, Craig took the time to get to know me, my nuances, hesitations, personality, and expectations. My 24 sessions could not have gone any better. Not only did I get great treatment during my sessions, but they armed me with knowledge of what I needed to be doing outside of Clarity to continue the journey to a full and continued recovery. The results I've had in such a short amount of time are nothing short of incredible. I've never been more flexible, ever, and I am already back to 90% of my pre-injury strength. The neurosurgeon said I am nearly 2 months ahead of schedule and attributes to the disciplined approach taken by Craig and the Clarity team. The biggest positive for me, aside from the incredible results, is their genuine and bespoke approach to each person. I've trusted them with my folks and now me. While I hope I don't HAVE to see them again, I would not go anywhere else and would recommend them to anyone looking for great, inclusive, comprehensive, and results-yielding physical therapy. Fantastic experience: I came to Craig with a nagging back problem that was limiting my ability to exercise and work out. After talking with a few doctors one recommended physical therapy. I found Clarity through a friend. Craig listened to my issues and tested my range of motion. He developed a treatment plan along with easy to understand at home exercises. My range of motion dramatically improved as well as my overall pain. I was not familiar with dry needle treatment and was blown away by its effectiveness. I am happy to be back in the gym and more flexible thanks to Craig and the team at Clarity.

Negative experience: Honestly, beyond disappointed in this place. I tore my Achilles and was constantly passed around between therapists after I specifically asked to be with 1 person consistently to track my progress. I saw 4 different therapists who would ask me the same questions and make me do different things. I am an understanding person -- I realize things come up, schedules change but no notice was given to me about any changes and I felt completely disregarded and I am already in such a hard place mentally and physically with my injury. I was honestly in shock when I came to an appointment and the PT I was scheduled with said Hi to me and left. Then someone else told me I would be with them for that day. I could not believe the lack of respect to not let me know or to even check in with me. I would never recommend this place to anyone who is serious about rehab. The lack of consistency and care is pretty appalling.

Fantastic experience: I initially went to Clarity for lower back pain. I had been living with this pain on and off for many years. The pain just finally got to the point where I couldn't move when I would wake up in the morning. It hurt to sit, to stand, and to lay down. The pain was affecting my day to day things. My husband referred me to Craig. I had never done PT or really any type of therapy for my back so I was skeptical. But with the pain being so bad, I just needed help. I went to see Craig for an intake and right away he was able to pin point where my pain was coming from and why I was feeling the pain. We set a plan to help release the pain and teach me the type of stretches I should be doing to keep my lower back from locking up and stuffing again. Over about a 4 month period, I visited Clarity twice a week. Some days we worked on stretches and workouts and other days Craig did dry needling. Again from someone who has never had any type of anything done for my back, the first time we did dry needling, I was afraid the pain from the needling would have long term negative effects but to my surprise, the pressure, the pinches, the sharp pains gradually stopped. With every dry needling session after, it just helped release the pressure/pain and helped my mobility. When I first started at Clarity, I would workout at the gym with a back brace to support my back and reduce the pain as much as possible, although I was constantly modifying my workouts. By the time we finished, I was able to workout without the brace and even lift heavier with certain workouts. I would recommend Clarity to anyone needing physical therapy. They are a very friendly group of people who know what they are doing. If you like the family type of environment, then Clarity is for you. Thank you Craig.

Fantastic experience: Where do I begin? I’ve loved my experience here at Clarity from the minute I walked in and was greeted warmly at the front desk. I started here after having some somewhat severe and uncomfortable pain in my upper back/shoulder after pregnancy and couldn’t pinpoint what it was. Craig was able to tell me exactly where the pain was originating from and came up with a care plan that already had me feeling some relief at the end of my first day. I’ve been able to continue my high-intensity workouts during my time here, with modifications. Now, I’m no longer having to do any modifications in my workouts and no longer have any pain. I can’t say enough great things about the amazing staff at Clarity and the care that they give to their patients. It definitely feels like a family here and it shows each time you’re here. Fantastic experience: I began my experience at Clarity Physical Therapy and Wellness after a freak accident that caused extreme chest pain. From the moment I walked in the whole team was extremely welcoming and kind. Dr. Craig got to work on diagnosing my pain right away and after the first session I felt so much better. I continued sessions weekly for another month and after just six visits my pain was gone. This was such a wonderful experience and I am so grateful for Clarity. Fantastic experience: What a great place. Cannot beat the convenience and friendly atmosphere. Craig and Ellen live in our Village and truly care about their patients from our small town and surrounding communities. The therapists are well trained, knowledgeable, and always take the time to explain what they are doing how it will help you. Fantastic experience: I’d highly recommend Clarity PT. The outside of my knee hurt during a run and I started to limp so I scheduled an evaluation. Superior at assessing my knee pain, flexibility, and weaknesses. The diagnosis and treatment plan made sense to me immediately. I felt comfortable I was at the right place without ever getting an MRI (since it was a muscular injury). Within two weeks, I felt significantly better and like I was getting stronger. Each visit helped workout the pain with manual therapy and stim, and strengthen the supporting muscles using a range of exercises and equipment to prevent the problem from reoccurring. I’d spend about an hour there, and felt like my knee was worked out and recovering when I left; if you were tight on time, they’d maximize the time you had. Facility is bright, clean, modern, and a great community environment serving tweens to seniors. Small staff made you feel welcome, supported, and helped you meet your goals. They seemed genuinely happy to be there. Insurance and scheduling were handled effortlessly. I saw the co-owner Craig, but had the opportunity to observe most the therapists and would recommend anyone there especially after seeing them interact, and knowing Craig helped chose the team. I called Clarity after seeing their support of local events and wanting a smaller facility during Covid. I’m so happy I did, and I’m back running. While I don’t want to be a regular in PT, I’d definitely chose Clarity if needed!

Fantastic experience: I am very impressed with the help I received for my back issues at Clarity Physical Therapy and Wellness Center. I never even saw a doctor for my issue, I went straight to Clarity for an evaluation. I have had PT at many places, but none were as individualized and as caring as Clarity was. I was not passed off to an assistant, as often happens at other clinics, and everyone seemed truly concerned about my well-being. I honestly thought I had little chance of resolving my issues, but in less than 10 visits I was well on the road to recovery. I highly recommend Clarity for physical therapy.

Fantastic experience: Excellent PT facilities and professionals. I had my shoulder replaced and needed much therapy. Without them, I wouldn't have gained my range of motion and strength back. Still working at it but Clarity definitely provided the PT and support needed. I highly recommend Clarity PT.

Fantastic experience: I came to Clarity in transit from moving between Germany and Taiwan, and having suffered from ITBand issues for a good year or so after Ironman Wisconsin in 2019. Luckily, Craig, Claire, and staff were all very welcoming during a pandemic and over the course of 10weeks or so, able to diagnose and provide a safe and effective treatment schedule. I am back running and riding at a level where I need to in order to compete as a professional triathlete and I wish I would have been able to utilize Clarity's expertise earlier on. I can't thank everyone at Clarity enough for their help and advice, and while I hope to not have to utilize treatment again in the near future, I would never hesitate to call Clarity again for any issues I needed looked at. Everyone I worked with from Craig to Jenny at the front desk was professional, knowledgeable and very helpful. The physical space is inviting and gives off a feeling of wellness and positive energy. Fantastic experience: I was experiencing this severe pain down my right leg whenever I’m driving from long distances.I was evaluated by a neurologist who told me it might be pyriformis syndrome and referred me for physical therapy. I was told about the clarity PT by my one of my friends who had very good results after back surgery. On my first visit I sat down with Craig who took the time to understand my story in the exam and be in details and agreed that it’s probably pyriformis related. He outlined a plan to proceed and then he also recommended to do dry needling which is similar to acupuncture. I was worried that my extensive running was affecting my leg. Craig assured me that’s not the direct cause although might be contributing. He recommended exercises at home and stretches which helped a lot during my runs. After a few weeks of therapy slowly the pain faded away until it completely resolved. It was like magic. Amazing results! Hopefully the pain will not come back again but if it does I will definitely come back to Clarity PT for further therapy. The staff are amazing. Very flexible with scheduling. Everybody seem to be welcoming and friendly.

Fantastic experience: My experience with Clarity was beyond helpful, professional and amazing. I hurt my back 5 weeks ago and it quickly became so painful that I couldn't walk or sit without pain. I started going based on a few recommendations 2-3 times per week. Today was my last day and I'm completely pain free with a bit more flexibility. I would highly recommend Clarity. Fantastic experience: I recently completed a rehab stint with Clarity and the experience was exceptional. Craig and the team at Clarity constructed an initial plan to reduce pain and improve motion, with the ultimate goal of getting me back to a pre-injury level consistent with my active lifestyle. The plan was a success on all counts and I’m happy to say I’m back to 100%. I can’t speak highly enough of Clarity...their facility is clean, comfortable, and well equipped and the entire staff is friendly, accommodating, and extremely professional. Fantastic experience: Would strongly recommend Clarity Physical Therapy in Western Springs, as they are very effective in treating the cause of leg pain and gave me steps that I can take to help myself on-going, to keep my legs healthy and free from sciatica pain - I needed physical therapy help for a sciatica problem that I had in my left leg and hip - my doctor suggested that I try Clarity Physical Therapy in Western Springs - which was the best recommendation that I have had in 2020. I met with Craig there (Director of the site) - he asked questions on how the sciatica problem was first experienced, how long I had the pain problem (I had the pain for over 6 weeks, and it was not improving until I got to Clarity PT), what stretching and other exercises I had been trying on my own (with no real improvement over my 6 prior weeks), and he suggested a series of stretches and exercises over a physical therapy treatment period for me, of 3-4 weeks. My results were great - my sciatica pain is literally gone now - after 3 weeks of PT treatments with Craig (I went three times per week), and I have knowledge now of the specific exercises to use to help me stay free of sciatica pain on my own - which I plan to use during each week. This is a very professional group - they charted a pain elimination plan and exercises for my sciatica problem, they clearly showed me how to do those stretch exercises on my own, and they always took an interest in my treatment progress. Fantastic experience: I found Clarity Physical Therapy after my ENT had diagnosed that my TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder) had flared up back in the fall. I got diagnosed with TMJ back in 2008 and went through countless medical experts in and out of state, orthodontics (braces three times) and many other appointments with oral specialists so that I did not have to undergo complete jaw reconstructive surgery as an early teen. Since then, I have been keeping an eye on it but for whatever reason it flared up and Clarity helped my symptoms with about 4 months of TMJ physical therapy. Craig is specialized in this type of therapy and not only did he help my jaw with the flare up, but found that the alignment and muscles in shoulders, back and neck needed attention to help my jaw as well. Between exercises and massage/manipulations of my body, I saw so much improvement in just a few months. I can't thank Craig, Sara and the Clarity team enough for their expertise and kindness throughout my time at physical therapy. I know that I can always count on them for anything that comes up! They are a great team, definitely contact them!

Positive experience: Admittedly, I was skeptical when my NP recommended I do physical therapy for muscle tightness. That being said, I had a great experience going to Clarify Physical Therapy. Everyone is very professional and they strive to accommodate patient's schedule (great if you work downtown like I do). With each session I could feel the difference. Upon my final visit, I was sent home with a handout that explained the exercises I should continue to do on my own which I very much appreciated. I would definitely use Clarity again should the need arise and would not hesitate to recommend them.

I have a serious injury requiring ongoing PT-Unfortunately, I started at a "big box" chain and also went to other smaller establishments with lots of pain and minimal results.Then a friend recommended Clarity. Fantastic experience: Clarity is a truly wonderful group of people. I was lucky enough to have sessions with every therapist working there while recovering from a lumbar discectomy(L4/L5). Every one of them is incredibly attentive, caring, knowledgeable, accomplished, and personable. Each session was a little bit different, and the overall strategy and treatment plan were very clear throughout. The plan was clearly excellent, as I feel better now (just under 6 months from surgery) than I have in years. Under their care I felt a confidence and peace of mind that made my recovery seamless and enjoyable. Clarity felt like family, with me, and all of their patients. Their office manager/front desk is beyond welcoming, kind, and personable. Everything about Clarity is 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: I sought help at Clarity Physical Therapy and Wellness Center with a diagnosis of Positional Vertigo which is a debilitating , almost chronic dizziness that rendered me absolutely leveled. My physician recommended physical therapy and I have to say I was skeptical. My understanding of PT was that they worked on injured shoulders or backs.....how could they possibly know about an inner ear issue let alone help me with PT? I was and am incredibly impressed with the extensive knowledge base that Craig , Kevin and Ellen have about SO MANY varied issues and treatment plans for each specific ailment. For my issue specifically, Craig was very methodical and knowledgeable in assessing the depth and treatment needed for my Positional Vertigo. I was anxious about the treatment causing me discomfort and he was continually patient and reassuring that PT would help and he made it very easy for me to trust him. The therapies that I underwent started to give me relief almost immediately. An illness that can easily last up to six weeks was abated and “cured” in three weeks with me going for therapy 2-3 Times a week. While I was there for my therapy I observed many people with varying issues and I was so very impressed with each of these therapists wide knowledge bases and their delivery of service. I am very impressed with the services I received and whole heartedly recommend them. They are different from the large “Chain” PT centers in that they are not just servicing body parts.....they are part of the community In Which they work and they see every client as a person. I can’t imagine that everyone who receives therapy There would not say the same thing. Lastly the environment is extremely comfortable and Warm. Fantastic experience: I am so happy with my experience at Clarity Physical Therapy! Both my daughter and I had separate injuries that required PT. She was sent to Clarity by her Physician I was sent to a different Physical Therapy facility. The difference is incredible. I felt like a "number" at my original place and wasn't getting enough personal attention for my injury. I also felt the exercises were not appropriate for me. When I changed to Clarity I felt totally welcomed and am receiving the proper care I need! The therapists work one on one with you and I am feeling so much better(as is my daughter)! I would highly recommend them!

Fantastic experience: I have been at clarity a few times for many other injuries including shoulders, hamstrings and elbows every time the helpfulness of the therapist have been exceptional. I started August of 2017 and just finished December of 2017. I fractured my femur and dislocated my knee. This injury was the worse of all the ones that I have came here for. I didn’t think I was going to be able to move my leg ever, but when I got to clarity they were all so helpful and every therapist is the best. When you first start they set goals for your certain injury which is very helpful and gives you the mindset of you wanting to be at therapy which helped very much. Everyone is so friendly and all the patients are as well. Coming from a freshman in highschool I enjoyed going to therapy which is very hard for many freshman boys. Zero complaints about the place . Thanks for everything you have done!!

Fantastic experience: Hands Down! I would recommend Clarity Physical Therapy to anyone that is in need of a trusted, knowledgeable and invested staff of physical therapists for whatever physical issue you may have. My first experience with the amazing physical therapists, Craig, Ellen and Kevin, was over a year ago in 2016 to help with my chronic sinus pressure. I was able to get the physical therapy I needed in a short amount of time and I was happily on my way. Fast forward to a year later in November of 2017. I decided to start training in September for a half marathon that would be taking place in December. After a month and a half of training, I began to start feeling discomfort (straining, pulling of my muscles) in my right leg. While I knew it was painful, I just assumed that this was normal discomfort that came along with being a first time runner and training for a serious distance. I ignored the pain until November 6th and then I decided I needed to rest my legs for a week. On November 13th, I started training again and did a 4 mile run that day. Three days later, I went out for another run and literally couldn't even start the run without severe pain and my run lasted for about 4 minutes that involved merely limping to try to get the run started. I knew at that point that I needed help. This decision was on November 16th. I reached out to Craig at Clarity right away to see if they could see me. By November 17th, I had not only met with Craig for him to access my injury, but I had also secured an appointment hours later to see a Sports Medical Doctor to receive my authorization to receive physical therapy and received an appointment for the next morning to receive my MRI to rule out serious injuries to my leg. This, in my opinion, was an amazing turn around time and an attestment to how passionate the staff are at Clarity to making sure their patients get the utmost attention in an above and beyond timely manner. Craig, personally, made these phone calls to the doctors to ensure that I was able to get these appointments. By Monday morning, November 20th, I had results of my MRI and had already received two therapy sessions. Within the next week and a half, I received wonderful treatment from Craig, Ellen, Kevin and Sara. I must point out that the communication at their Center is spectacular because even though I was seen by 4 different therapists, they all knew my injury and were well informed on how my therapy was going after each session. And they also gave me different styles of therapy within each session which I believe I benefited from by having different methods of exercise and manipulation. It must be noted that when I initially went in to see Craig and the staff, I told them that under no circumstances would I miss this half marathon. I had worked too hard to get this far to not follow through and run. The half marathon was on December 2nd!!!! And I met with Craig for that first assessment on November 17th!!! So within 2 weeks, the staff at Clarity was able to take me from not being able to run at all without limping in severe pain to doing a practice run of 1 mile on the 24th, a 4 mile run on the 28th and a 2 mile run on the 29th. And then I was able to successfully finish the half marathon in my expected pace on December 2, 2017! I understand that I have given a lot of dates in the review but I think those dates are important to emphasize the exemplary skill and knowledge that this staff employed in order to get me from an injured, yet determined runner that couldn't even walk without pain to being able to finish a 13.1 mile run two weeks later! And I must add that Joan is the best front of the house staff that I have ever come across. She makes the insurance process and other administrative details completely stress free, which is hardly ever the case. There is no other place that I would recommend if you want to receive not only top notch therapy, but also caring and passionate individuals that want to make everyone get physically to their best and remain at that best.
