Opening its doors in August of 2015, CHAS Health’s primary care team has been meeting the needs of individuals and their families located in the Cheney, Airway Heights, and Spangle area. Our Cheney clinic also offers a wide range of Women’s Health Services, Behavioral Health assistance for adults, children, and adolescents, and specialty care such as nutritional services and services for adults 18+ including hormone therapy for transgender and gender non-conforming people.
CHAS is a non-profit, federally funded qualified health center that provides high quality healthcare services to families and individuals of all ages, regardless of ability to pay.

Fantastic experience: This medical clinic exceeded my expectations in every way. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, from the receptionists to the pharmacists and Dr. Margaret. I used to avoid going to the doctor because I was nervous, but I was pleasantly surprised to feel comfortable and at ease discussing my health concerns with the doctor. Initially, I had scheduled a medical examination here, but I’ve since decided to make Chas my primary healthcare provider for all my medical needs. As a result, I canceled a dental appointment at another clinic and will now go to Chas for all my medical needs. They are a sliding scale clinic, which is a plus. I no longer have to worry about being able to afford my basic healthcare needs.

Negative experience: Made an appointment as a new patient, it was a 3-month wait. They called me during work hours the day before to try to reschedule. However in their message they didn't say that they were canceling the appointment or needed to reschedule. When arrived I told them they should have informed me about that in the message. So I would have not waste my time coming to the facility. I was told there are certain things they can't say on a message due to laws. That's a cop out.No different than sending a text appointment confirmation and has been done in the past when other providers cancelled with me. Was given a telehealth appointment. The doctor seemed like it was a waste of his time to be doing a video visit for a new patient. The only complaint I had was of an ear infection previously that didn't clear all the way up and pain beginning again . he told me to go back to my specialist. My specialist who by the way decided that I don't need any immediate appointments, doesn't get you in quickly and cost a whole lot of money to go to just to get some antibiotics...... unhelpful overall. Bad communication. Too long of a wait for the service. All around a bad experience when I was hoping to switch somewhere closer to home. Worth the drive to Spokane to stick with a different group. This is the first "low income" facility that actually made me feel low income and unimportant.

Negative experience: Just go to a real clinic, yes that charges more, it'll be worth it. Why bother sitting and waiting until close, for a Dr's help? So far an hour and a half, they close soon (appointment at 4pm...here still at 6pm...huh!!!

Fantastic experience: I go here for medical, dental, AND behavioral health services. I feel more respected here than any other office I have been to. My PA transferred clinics and I was so sad!! But I'm not worried because everyone I've seen here has been compassionate and ready to actually listen to me and my concerns, something I sadly can't say for other doctors. Also, CHAS provides care regardless of income, something that should be standard but isn't, so that makes them amazing and important!

Fantastic experience: Great clinic and staff. The receptionists and nurses are all very polite and friendly and kept me updated with how long the wait would be. Check in was super simple. The phlebotomist was super great, I usually have veins that run from needles but they got it no problem! Dr. Rutland is fantastic. I've been to many doctors, specialists, and the sorta over the years and often left them feeling disappointed and ignored, to the point I kinda just gave up on going to the doctor for awhile. Finally decided I needed a checkup and switched to this clinic with Dr. Rutland, she listened to everything I said, gave me loads of advice and helped me with getting additional care. I will always come back here, even if there's a bit of a wait for an appointment.

Fantastic experience: Very nice staff and proficient doctors/nurses! They were wonderful with my children, my daughter, who is 6 and has special needs, needed to get several shots, but they did great with her! They made it as quick as and painless as possible and were incredibly patient and kind.

Negative experience: Scheduled an appointment months ago to be told the day before it was canceled. Receptionist was very nice but I wanted this appointment to go over underlying health issues and improve my quality of life. Now I have to wait months or goto another provider.

Negative experience: Abusive pieces of garbage. They give out people's information, including their appointment times so that they can get the townfolk involved. My husband went their to get healthcare and they told him everyone wanted him dead and that Lance was going to hyphotize him and use the town against him. That's not something you do to anyone, but especially not to a disabled person with a mental health disorder that involves cognitive issues. The best thing they could do is close down and leave this community. They are toxic.
Negative experience: Very poor staffing. Come in for appointment at 730 am and prosess still took 1,5 hours. That's absolutely insane at that time of am. No one else was here. I counted 4 pharmacy techs 8 nurses and 3 providers. Maybe time for new owners and or management.

Positive experience: Absolutely love this facility. My entire family goes here. But when dental assistants and dentists aren't kid friendly it just makes me not want to go here anymore. Karlson was absolutely rude to my son and myself. He didn't agree with our primary dentist so like any narcissist would do is hurt my son so he didn't have to work on him today. Absolutely disgusting behavior. We will stay with Dr. Anderson as she is amazing and loves kids.... doesn't make us feel less as humans. But I hope chas looks over their staff as these experiences seem frequent.

Negative experience: The check In process and disorganization is on going. Multiple times with both myself and my caregiving clients have been told their/our appt is at a curtain time or date and when we get to the office they have done something to mess it up. It ranges from, the provider is not in office and after waiting 30 mins and asking when to expect to be called back they say that provider is not even in today. Having to rearrange my schedule multiple times is very inconvenient and frustrating! Holding 3 jobs it’s not easy to orchestrate when people mess up and your waiting 2 hrs for care. I understand things happen but this has been almost every time we have come into the office. I even have the appointment verification on my phone to show when their/my appt is for.

Fantastic experience: Personable and helpful staff. I had to visit the dental clinic and my hygienist, Anita, was amazing, very sweet. Also, had to speak to a patient care rep, and though I can't remember her name, she was very sweet and helpful in getting me onto a medical plan that will cover my future needs.
Negative experience: Been thrown around on the phone all day, thought it would be easier to call here. Got transferred to a nurse line. Super rude nurse on the phone. Get better customer service.

Fantastic experience: My doctor here, Lisa, has for the first time in my life made me feel somewhat safe in a doctor's office. I can't speak for every doctor or every single human who works there, but I do know that they genuinely try as hard as they can to be trauma-informed. It's been a long journey for me and I've had many doctors in the past that really made things harder and not better, but I really do believe that the care I'm getting here right now is the best I've gotten in my entire life and I'm very grateful. Appointments are at times difficult to get which can be annoying when things are rough, and I feel general communication within the building could be more solid, but overall I'm so beyond impressed with my doctor and her team. They all make me feel safe and I can tell that they actually care for their patients.

Negative experience: Was a patient here for a few years but left the state for a couple of years before returning. Was told it would be 2 months for a new patient appointment. That is ridiculous I'm on several medications that will be gone by then. Doesn't seem very ethical to leave people for so long without medication.

Fantastic experience: Doctor Morgan Anderson is the BEST dentist I've ever been to and I've literally been to about 6 different dentists across the country. She was genuinely nice and truly cares about you as a patient. She answered all of my curious questions and i barely felt the numbing needle. I'm petrified of dental work but she made it more than bearable. Barely any pain or discomfort after drilling my teeth. Thank you so much for the best experience.

Negative experience: Waited 3 weeks for a pregnancy confirmation appointment. When we got there they said they can't help us and we will have to go to a different clinic. Then a few months later they canceled our daughter's appointment 3 TIMES wasting about a month. On the 3rd cancellation they said we can walk in to get the shots. When we got there they said they gave us incorrect information and we can reschedule. Lmao we will switch to Multicare.

Fantastic experience: I am a disabled vet patient receiving routine care and checkups from CHAS. I found Dr. Lance and the staff at CHAS courteous, timely as well as accurate with diagnostics, treatment as well as finding the right specialty care for me if needed. Negative experience: I am now waiting on my 4th rescheduled appointment from 4 months ago needing a follow-up. Everytime im within a couple days of appointment the dr. Takes a day off and I get rescheduled again.

Positive experience: I have only used the dental side of Chas in Cheney, but I can say they offer some of the best dental I have ever had. The people are almost always nice and informative, they don't mind questions and I like to ask about what they are doing and why it's being done. I got a nightguard made and they were fantastic about getting it just right, even having me come in and fixing it so it did not pinch and felt almost natural. The only downside I had was I had a dental appointment the day after I got my second covid vaccine. I could not change the date for my covid vaccine and I did not realize it would floor me as bad as it did. I called the day of my dental appointment to reschedule and they said I was a no call, no show even though I called 4 hours before my appointment. So they said there was no open availability for months. As soon as I got scheduled and made that next appointment they were able to get me in swiftly for others.

Negative experience: Honestly, terrible. For months an appointment has been trying to be scheduled, either there are no openings or the day of the doctor doesn't come in. This would be fine and dandy if it wasn't for their medication refills for depression, anxiety and what not NEEDING an appointment for a refill. It's disappointing and I feel bad for anyone who has to go through withdrawals of their medicine becauae this clinic can't keep up on their patients properly.

Negative experience: Services provided at the clinic are good, but if you have on going prescriptions and use Central Fill, there are problems. The clinic doesn't call you regarding any labs or visits needed to continue getting refills. Very disappointed since calls should be done to ensure refills are not missed and affect overall health of the patients.

Negative experience: I had been trying to get in to see them for 6 months but I couldn’t because they were booked out and weren’t accepting new patients. I finally got in to the dental office for an emergent appointment because of mouth pain, they told me over the phone that they would take xrays and triage the problem ex. A filling. I got there and they took the one X-ray of one tooth even though I was saying that two teeth were bothering me. The dr then came and blamed me for not coming in sooner and gave me a referral because “they don’t work on molars”. He also told me I need to stop my orthodontic treatment because they don’t know what pain if from cavities or my braces. The worst place ever will never go back. Don’t go here if you want quality care.

Negative experience: They lied to me about my results on a test I did, then when I came in two months later for something unrelated, they told me that they didn't do the test properly and have to do it again. But wait, they already called me months ago to tell me what the results are, and didnt bother to tell me the test didn't work until I came in two months later!! And now they are sending me two bills a month for the test. Why should I have to pay for a second test, after being lied to, and seeing how it isn't MY fault the test didn't work. That is a serious problem in my book, and I will be talking to someone about that. Worst clinic I have EVER visited.

Negative experience: I will never go back. I pay good money for my health insurance for the last 23 years. 3 Different Dr. In 24 hours and just one more mistake after another. Incompetence and laziness are rampant at Chas more than one Chas location.

Negative experience: Doctors and nurses here are great. Receptionists and schedulers are absolutely awful, rude, and disrespectful. They’ve canceled appointments without approval or even notifying of the cancellations.

Fantastic experience: Honestly i love this office. Everyone has always been kind. Im trans so that is hard for me to find. Everyone insits on calling me my prefered name and i dont feel like i have to prove how trans i am to be accepted. I get to just be me. I even get my hrt though there pharm. Kindness and compassion is what i have receved here. Sad to be moving to olympia. Gonna miss my great doctor from here here, katie is wonderful. I recomend her and this clinic to anyone.

Negative experience: The doctors don't listen to you, and prescribe the wrong medication. it always takes two weeks to be seen by a doctor, even for pressing medical conditions. I was prescribed birth control here a total of 4 times, by 2 doctors, and none of the prescriptions were correct, then they argued with me when i complained. They ignore you.

Negative experience: It is extremely difficult to get appointments with the doctor. Over the past 2 months when attempting to schedule 2 appts., I was told that even though there were appts. available the following week, the staff was not allowed to schedule them until the next week-that I would need to call next week. Then, when I called there were no appts. available. I’ve been a RN for 35+ years and have never seen such a screwed up system.

Fantastic experience: Great dental clinic. You need to practice patience but it is worth it. The practitioners know their stuff and will take care of you. They will require you to only have one filling at a time taken care of but it is because each prpvider has to see 18 patients a day since they are federally funded which is what allows them to provide exceptional service to those who cant afford it elsewhere. :]

Negative experience: This is the worse dental clinic I have ever been to. Are you a new patient? They won’t tell you that your first appointment is NOT the regular cleaning like you scheduled and asked for. Nope, they will take a full mouth X-ray instead and then make you make another apt to get a cleaning. I’ve already had X-rays done within the year- why can’t they just be sent over from my previous dentist from out of state? Do most people have time to make multiple dentist appts? The real kicker, you then try and set up the cleaning you wanted - well they are completely booked and tell you that you must call back everyday a 730am to see if you can get in. Are you serious? I am YOUR patient and PAYING you, not the other way around. Why is it that every other clinic will take your name for a waitlist? Why is it at other clinics you can book 6months in advance but here their calendar isn’t open that far? People who working full time don’t have time for this BS. Not patient friendly.

Fantastic experience: Dr Pedey and Dr Monson are amazing at chas dental in Cheney! I absolutly hate going to the dentist, but these two dentists are fantastic! They have gone out of their way to help me deal with a problematic tooth multiple times while being mindful of my high risk pregnancy. Love this place.

Negative experience: If I could give this clinic zero stars, I would. My daughter went to the clinic today & the doctor & staff were grossly (i.e. malpractice inept & ignorant). My child was so very sick. After a 3 hour fiasco we ended up leaving & going elsewhere. Chas also ROYALLY messed up my daughter's prescriptions. I spent 2 hours haggling with Chas advocating for my daughter's health, which they HORRIBLY put at risk with their negligence. I went to Owl Pharmcy, also in Cheney, & they efficiently had us on our way, meds in hand, 30 minutes later. The staff at Chas Clinic are ignorant buffoons. If you value your children's health &/or that of your own, you will do yourself a favor by avoiding this clinic.

Positive experience: I have always loved Chas, and have never had a problem with their staff, but today I called one of the clinics to re-schedule an appointment and the staff that answered the phone cut me off, and sounded very irritated and rude and it was very unprofessional, especially in the Medical Field. Patients are to never be treated that way.

Fantastic experience: Hands down the best doctors office I've ever had. They have a pharmacy, general health, mental health and even a dentistry all in one facility. On top of that the staff are professional, quick, empathic of situations and just awesome all around people! I always get my appointments at reasonable times (they even create openings if your having an emergency situation). The facility is clean, friendly, and the waiting chairs are so comfortable. CHAS in Cheney is the standard that every productive medical facility should held by.
