Fantastic experience: Regain, Retain, Reclaim. There is no better way to put in words what Root Cause has done for our daughter's life and ours. Our 9 year old daughter Sienna has been struggling with digestive/ gut health from March 2022. We remember clearly the day it all started. She had just turned 6 yrs old. Walking down our upstairs hallway, she suddenly stopped and started vomiting and complaining of stomach aches and pains. Ever since that day, our daughter was never the same. The abdominal pains and discomfort has never stopped and she shied away from eating food to prevent the pain. Until we contacted Root Cause. Sienna lost 20 lbs in 1 month (July 2024) because with each 2 to 3 spoons of food, stomach pains followed. Dysphagia (choking when swallowing), also prevented her from eating normal portions and varieties of foods. She further experienced frequent coughing and clearing of throat, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, headaches, mild dizziness, nausea, loss of appetite, acid reflux moving all the way up her esophagus and into her throat, nose and even ears. When traditional medicine such as major hospitals in Florida could not give us any answers, Root Cause's functional medicine approach to health could. After endoscopies, biopsies, and a handful of tests at the hospital, the hospital told us "We see nothing to explain your daughter's symptoms". Dr. Rick from Root Cause was able to view the human body from a holistic approach and find the connection to the root cause of our daughter's problem. Severe Gluten Intolerance, leading to poor growth of good bacteria and an over growth of bad bacteria in her gut. Additionally, Sienna also has a Rolling Hiatal Hernia. We flew into Florida from The Bahamas on April 3, 2025 to meet in person. With Root Cause's professional, caring and extremely capable team, almost all of our daughter's symptoms have improved with most symptoms being completely done. Working with Carlabeth, Avalon and Leslie made scheduling and coordinating the Zoom and in person appointments easy and flawless. It was such a pleasure meeting everyone in person. They are such wonderful people with one of the best customer service and hospitality we have ever experienced while we were in the US. Negative experience: If you want them to help you with a hiatial hernia, be careful. They will tell you that they can heal a hiatial hernia, which is not true. A hiatial hernia can on be fixed by surgery. I was mislead.

Fantastic experience: I am very grateful to Root Cause medical clinic because I went from a very healthy person to all of a sudden, having lots of different symptoms and a change in my health. Some of the symptoms I had all of a sudden were a swollen stomach, anxiety, rapid heart rate, inflammation in the body and weight gain. All the tests were coming back normal, but I didn’t feel normal so I sought out Root Cause as I needed to get to the Root Cause of all my symptoms. Through testing, we were able to see where my body was not optimal and to work with solutions and protocols that would help my body get back on track. They have made me realize that the foods I put in my body make all the difference. I have sensitivities to gluten and wheat and I’ve been taught based on my tests the correct foods to eat instead . I also had some other things going on which they have addressed. I am taking the recommended supplements to get my body healthy again and I’m already starting to feel a lot better. Fantastic experience: Switching to Root Cause was hands down the best thing I have ever done for my health. Not to go into too much detail, but I had been struggling with a mix of health issues that came out of no where in June 2022 (which were being blamed on my endometriosis and an endometrioma rupture). I was seeing four different specialists and no one could figure out what was wrong... they told me I'd feel better in a month... and then to give it another month when I still was feeling horrible at my follow-ups. And so it went for almost a year. They pushed pills to mask my symptoms, and kept telling me what I was feeling was totally normal, while things continued to get worse. It got so bad that I was having panic attacks daily and couldn't eat for weeks at a time because of intense nausea. No one was actually listening to me, and only one doctor even had enough curiosity to dig deeper than the endometriosis excuse to realize my gallbladder and appendix were failing (which was only half of the problem). Two surgeries later and still struggling, I reached out to Root Cause in an act of desperation, hoping that functional medicine would be able to help me get back to my healthy, vibrant self that I was before being my body decided to go on the fritz. I honestly can't find the words to explain how amazing it has been working with Dr. Beth and the personalized attention I have received from all of the Root Cause team. It took work on my part of course, and was challenging at times being patient hoping the results of my work and her care would start to show (especially after being let down time and time again by so many other doctors). After a few months I noticed things started to get better. After six months I felt more and more like myself, and others started commenting on the improvements. Now, a little over a year later, I am feeling better than I ever have in my adult life. We were able to not only fix the issues that came on out of nowhere in 2022, but we also improved my endometriosis pain (practically non-existent now), systemic inflammation, and energy levels as a side effect of the personalized care I received! Fantastic experience: I was very grateful to find Root Cause clinic. I have always been a very healthy and fit person but something happened with my health in April of last year that was inexplicable. I had a sudden pain in my abdomen that wouldn’t go away. My heart rate was regularly increased and I was having heart palpitations and shortness of breath. I went to the ER and all my tests came back normal. I’m only in my late thirties. Over the next several months, I decided to pursue the function medicine/naturopathic route to see if this would give me answers. My symptoms were not dissipating and I couldn’t exercise, could hardly go out for a walk or even climb my stairs without being out of breath. I saw natural doctors who helped me with my symptoms and they did start dissipating slightly, but I felt dependent on natural supplements, I was taking nearly a dozen, and I still had no answers as to what was actually wrong. It wasn’t until I saw one functional MD who ordered blood tests and food allergy tests for me. This was the beginning to me seeing that there was a connection between food and my current health situation. I started on a gluten free diet and this dissipated my symptoms more than any supplement I had taken thus far. But there weren’t as many answers as I needed and I was being pushed in the direction of thyroid medication for Hashimitos. I didn’t feel that was the answer, so decided to go out in search of yet another doctor. Through six months of seeing four different natural doctors, I eventually found Root Cause clinic online and signed up for their email newsletter. One day, I got a success story email they sent and this person had went through nearly the same thing I had, a sudden abdomen pain that totally put them out of commission, and Root Cause helped them heal. So that was my inspiration to sign up for a program. I signed up for a three month program, still somewhat hesitant from all I had gone through with other doctors and not getting answers. But what I have learned and applied in my program has nearly completely healed me! I thought that me, prior to starting the program, having quit gluten and dairy for three months was enough but what I learned at RC was that there are many foods, natural and processed, that can be inflammatory to our bodies. I learned about hiatal hernia syndrome and how inflammation can cause all the symptoms I’d been having. It was so reassuring and made so much sense, way more than anything else. I also was right about not jumping blindly into the thyroid medication route, as for me, the diet was the crux of the problem. I’ve now been exercising 5x a week for seven weeks straight, I am able to jog now and walk without discomfort, and the pain in my abdomen has been 98% gone for over a week, and I just completed my program. This is huge because I had this pain every day for ten months straight! It’s still a journey because the gut needs time to heal completely, but I can say with complete confidence that I have my life back and I will continue to move forward applying what has been working in this program. Fantastic experience: I truly cannot recommend Root Cause Medical Clinic enough. If you have medical issues that doctors don’t understand, I would highly recommend you look into if Root Cause could help you. Dr. Jen and Dr. Jake are amazing. They helped me when I had almost completely lost hope. I had been having severe, chronic pain and a slew of other issues for over a year. I was forced to leave college and was too disabled to work. I was in and out of the ER with one mystery illness or symptom after another. I had been gaslit by medical professionals, told I was faking it, told there was nothing they could do for me, and even told on one occasion that I likely had a new, unknown disease and should just get used to “my new way of life.” But I couldn’t get used to it. My existence was misery, and I didn’t know what to do. Then my dad found some videos from Root Cause on YouTube of all places, and we had a little bit of hope. We were honestly worried at first that it might be a scam or something, but we made a consultation and immediately knew that it wasn’t. Within two months of my program with Root Cause, I had found out and made so much more progress than I had in over a year of seeing specialist doctors. They helped me get tests to find out what was wrong, taught me more holistic ways to help heal my body, taught me how to cope with my chronic diseases/disorders, and helped me know what questions to ask and gave me guidance on other issues I had to go to other doctors for. Fantastic experience: This program has been an incredible learning experience and has brought a significant improvement to my health!!! I don’t usually leave reviews, but this one is worth it!!! I want to share my experience so others can make an informed decision based on my personal journey. All the symptoms I was experiencing, combined with my hiatal hernia and other issues, have been addressed through this program, with guidance available remotely or in person, depending on your availability!!! It’s important to highlight that, although I took the necessary supplements to improve, I had to develop strong willpower and commit to a completely new way of eating!!! The elimination diet is not something that shows results overnight—it takes time!!! But this journey has given me invaluable knowledge, and now I can say that I actually enjoy eating this way much more than I did before!!! I’m 43 years old, an active athlete, and in my younger years, I competed at a high level in sports such as swimming and basketball!!! Fantastic experience: This practice was precisely what I was looking for: a fully coordinated team of professionals that insisted on comprehensive testing first to determine the underlying causes so that an exact treatment program could be developed for me. In so doing they found the basic why when other practices simply did their usual routine responses. The results paralleled this.

Fantastic experience: I've been seeing the good people at Root Cause Medical Clinic for about 2 months now, to help diagnose and treat me for hiatal hernia. They really mean what they say, getting to the root of what is causing your various symptoms. They run tests that the Kaiser doctors would never do. They even did genetic testing to look for potential future issues. They offer tele-health appointments for those outside Florida, and the team is quick to answer any questions or concerns you have. While their services are not cheap, if you've been suffering all your life like me, you will agree that it's worth it.

Negative experience: Spent thousands and they couldn't even tell me my root canals were causing all my health problems. After all the "whole body" approach should include asking about the mouth!

Fantastic experience: I have been a client of Root Cause Medical for over a year and have found their support and commitment to solving my health problems outstanding! I had multiple tests done to determine what issues my body was dealing with. I specifically wanted to get my blood pressure under control without meds. Spoiler: Major success in that!! But... in addition, I found out I was gluten sensitive, had mold and some other toxins floating around in my body and even in our home! So thankful for the testing that we did! Those issues have been resolved as well. One of the major reasons I wanted to provide this review is to highlight the one of the foundational precepts that Root Cause uses: Your body will heal itself if you give it what it needs! Couple that with: Food is medicine. and your have a powerful foundation for healing and recovery into a vibrant and glorious life! Specifically, the great support of Dr Rick and Dr Jen as I undertook a whole food, plant based diet that excluded meat, dairy, gluten, sugar and oil encouraged me to continue and press on in the hard spots! As a result, in two months, I have been able to lower my total cholesterol by almost 60 points and have moved almost all of my blood markers into the normal or optimal range!! My BP is great and now my risk of a cardiac event is significantly lower!! It is so important to find and work with health care providers that want you to be the best you can be, to want to see you healthy and want to not have to have you come back again and again for more meds and more treatments. You need to find the root cause and fix it!! That's exactly what Dr Rick and his staff and are dedicated to do for you!!!

Fantastic experience: Where to start. 6 months or more ago I began having terrible abdominal issues. In August 2024, I started experiencing severe bloating with heart palpitations, chest pain, and difficulty breathing, etc. I went through all the traditional scans. After finding nothing wrong they wanted to remove my gallbladder. In December 2024 I decided to exit traditional treatments. I have been pastoring for 23 years and now I found myself unable to perform my daily duties and decided to retire. Long story short.....Root Cause entered my life. When I had health issue that conventional medicine could not treat, Root Cause put me on a regimen of therapy, excise, diet and supplements that have restored my health without taking more pharmaceuticals. Fantastic experience: I am extremely grateful to the team at Root Cause Medical Clinic. For years I was suffering with digestive issues and heart issues. I had been misdiagnosed for years. I was miserable, bloated and over weight (and about to have an ablation) when I walked into their clinic. I was researching treatment for my hiatal hernia when I made that first phone call to Leslie. I highly recommend this clinic as they will get to the root cause using a full range of care to diagnose and improve your health. A special shout out to an amazing Doctor of Chiropractic Jakob Johnson and Amanda Briles APRN whose care and compassion was greatly appreciated.

Positive experience: In November 2022 I started experiencing gut pain. I went to my primary care physician and she had me do a series of tests including abdominal ultrasound, vaginal ultrasound, CT scan and referral to gastroenterologist. The CT scan revealed a small hiatal hernia and evidence of GERD. The gastroenterologist nurse practitioner also prescribed PPI and I ended up taking them for 4 months!! I then saw an integrative medicine physician who did some stool testing and had me taking some gut healing supplements which actually worked. However , the manufacturer quit making that particular supplement and then my gut issues came back. I also was tested for H Pylori with 3 different tests and all were negative. The integrative medicine doctor who actually specializes in PRP treatments ( not really gut health) did mention to me that even as small as a hiatal hernia could be he remembered studying them in his training and was surprised that a hiatal hernia could cause so many different problems. So I decided to explore on my own what issues hiatal hernia could cause and stumbled on to Dr. Vikki and Dr. Rick’s book, Hiatal Hernia Syndrom. I got it and read it. I was so amazed that all the symptoms I was experiencing such as shortness of breath, heart palpitations, anxiety and more were direct issues caused by hiatal hernia. I called Root Cause Medical Clinic and spoke to Dr. Vikki and Dr. Rick and decided to enroll in their Hiatal Hernia program. I worked with Dr. Jake and Dr. Jen as well as Dr. Rick. I had all the lab work done they suggested. My lab verified I did not have H Pylori which I did have in 2008. And the wheat test revealed I was highly sensitive to gluten. So Dr. Jen guided me on the elimination diet and Dr. Jake had me doing all the exercises to strengthen my diaphragm. They helped immensely with my symptoms. And once I was off gluten for 6 weeks I had some other chronic issues clear up. I finished my program with improved health and continue to heal my gut. I’m very thankful at all those at Root Cause Clinic for the improvements I’ve had. I would definitely recommend their services to any one experiencing any health issues. They will definitely get to the Root Cause! And the staff and others at the clinic are very helpful every step of the way. My treatments were through their telemedicine process since I live 2400 miles away from the clinic.

Fantastic experience: It is my profound wish to thank the staff of Root Cause Medical Clinic for their excellent care! I was diagnosed with chronic gastritis the end of April this year. The traditional doctors prescribed various PPI’s for acid reflux which offered little relief. Being very frustrated after weeks of getting nowhere, I began researching YouTube videos in an effort to find medical care that would get to the bottom of the symptoms I was experiencing and would offer treatment in a holistic manner. These worrisome symptoms included severe stomach pain after every meal, weight loss, as well as issues surrounding a hiatal hernia. My inclination led me to believe that an overuse of antibiotics had destroyed my gut microbiome even though the doctors who had prescribed the antibiotics rejected the suggestion out right. Fortunately, in my desperation I came across some of Dr. Vikki Petersen’s videos posted on YouTube. I watched everyone I could, shortly after calling the clinic seeking assistance. The very name Root Cause Medical Clinic caught my attention! Needless to say, suffering to the degree I was, I was highly motivated to follow the recommended treatment program of Dr. Vikki & Dr. Richard Petersen. After extensive blood work it was discovered that I had both an h-pylori & e. coli bacterial infection and a sensitivity to gluten. Traditional doctors told me I didn’t have an h-pylori infection, never tested for other infections and a celiac test confirmed I didn’t suffer from that disease, so my thinking was that I had no need to avoid gluten. Root Cause began a recommended regiment of supplements to address the stomach symptoms-NO antibiotics! Dietician, Jennifer Dufala started me on the elimination diet and sound dietary education. Physical therapist, Dr. Jacob Johnson, added to my treatment program assisting with a variety of stretches to address the hiatal hernia. Everything was done methodically and gradually. Slowly and almost imperceptibly I began to feel better. I mentioned to Dr. Richard Petersen how amazed I was that my health was improving while hardly being cognizant of it! How thankful I am to every team member of Root Cause Medical Clinic; all the staff was kind and helpful! From the bottom of my heart, I thank them for their professional and astute medical care! One of the things I appreciate the most is that they actually listen to you. They listen to you and they do their best to address every issue that you have. Fantastic experience: Root cause has been an amazing experience. They have been helping me through my GERD and dysphagia problems. They went above and beyond to figure out why i was having these problems I am almost completely healed! As of this moment I am still in the program but my progess at shot up to 85% completely relief! Fantastic experience: On the night of April 26th, 2024, my wife and I finished packing our luggage. We had been planning this dream vacation for years, from before the Covid lockdowns. We were scheduled to fly out on Saturday, April 27th. We were going to spend three weeks in England, Ireland and Paris; this would be my wife’s first ever trip to Europe. But the night we finished packing I came down with the worst stomach pain I’ve ever experienced. It was so bad that at 11pm on April 26th I had to cancel our dream trip. Not only was I feeling sick physically but also emotionally because I was forced to cancel my wife’s dream vacation; I felt like the worst husband in the world! What I had caused me to be out of work for four weeks. At one point I ended up in the ER with a 103 degree fever. My body was completely shot. I couldn’t eat anything. I wasn’t even able to walk around my block without feeling sick; I walk for a living, usually six miles per day. I lost weight because I couldn’t eat. I lost muscle mass because I couldn’t work out. My body was a mess. In my family there’s history of stomach and colon cancer so I thought that maybe I was next. I had visited an IG before but all they did was put me on PPI’s but I wasn’t satisfied with being on drugs for the rest of my life. Positive experience: I had an appt with Dr Vickie and that was very informative. I then set up an appt with Dr Beth. I changed my mind when i thought about starting a treatment without the benefit of chiropractic care as i live across the country. My credit card was charge $595 for an hour of an appt with Dr Beth even though i had cancelled appt days before the appt was scheduled to occur. The amount was never credited. I had to call and it will take 3 to 4 weeks to credit the card. I find that a bit disconcerting. I'm sure the treatments are very helpful but not too happy about their financial policies.

Fantastic experience: The Root Cause Medical Clinic team has been outstanding! I had experienced pain, stiffness, severe GERD, heart palpitations and shortness of breath for several years. Multiple doctor appointments and many expensive tests later, I was told I was basically healthy and given prescriptions that would "help". Fantastic experience: I learned about Root Cause on YouTube when I was in the midst of a health crisis last year. It was a case of food poisoning that set off the most bizarre and terrifying symptoms over the course of the next 6 months, from crippling depression to chronic stomach issues, as well as breathing issues and heart palpitations. My stomach was bloated and constantly distended. I couldn’t get a deep breath because the pressure in my abdomen was literally hindering my diaphragm from opening all the way. The depression was almost unbearable, even though I had really never been depressed before. In the mornings I would get lightning like sensations in my stomach upon waking. I could do nothing that demanded any physical effort because my breathing issues would flare up and become terrifying, causing me to go back to an ER that had no answers for me. I spent most of my days in bed, reading people’s symptoms on Reddit and continuing to try and find answers. Fantastic experience: I went to Root Cause after several years of breathing issues and having been to multiple doctors and specialists for treatment. The doctors treated symptoms with medicine and could never explain the source of the issues. After ongoing treatment and fighting the effects of the meds while still not resolving the underlying a friend recommended Root Cause. My “symptoms” have fully resolved and I am off all medicine including BP meds that I have been on for years. My BP and my resting HR have returned to normal healthy levels. When she left and went to Root Cause In Clearwater I knew I had to contact her there because I would not go to anyone else. She is so kind and caring about her patients. Even though I was seeing her for hormone therapy she also got to the root of my gut issues I had dealt with for years. Fantastic experience: Really wasn't sure what to think at first since tele-med chiropractic care seemed counter intuitive to me. Dr Jake is a young guy but don't let that influence your thinking, he really knows his stuff and none of it is fluff, he gets right at the heart of your issue and gives you stretches and exercises that help your whole body every day. His stretches have been the most impactful to my day to day well being. Fantastic experience: Great Service and knowledge of the body and how it all ties in together from a health standpoint. I had two issues. The first was a small hiatal hernia, which caused several issues ranging from chest pain, regurgitation, and at times labored breathing. The second issue was unexplained weight gain. I had gained a significant amount of weight although I was eating healthy food and working out 3-5 days per week. Dr Rick and the team at the clinic played a major role in treating me. During my 5 month period of working win them my symptoms drastically reduced and I also dropped approx 21 pounds. Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Root Cause Medical Clinic! This is the first time I’ve taken the time to write a review for medical services. In 2008, I was diagnosed with Lupus. Later, in 2017, I was diagnosed with Crohns. I had always struggled with autoimmune conditions, occasional flare ups, joint pain, etc. Overall, I considered myself to be very health conscious; I went to the gym frequently, ate lots of fruits and vegetables, home pressed juices, homemade meals, etc. Little did I know what “healthy” meant for me and my particular needs. In 2023, I became sick and was vomiting everyday for about 3 months. I lost a total of 20 pounds and was already small-framed to begin with. I experienced panic attacks, which I’d never had before. I also started experiencing heart palpitations, resulting in numerous hospital visits. I couldn’t keep my food down and I had no idea what was going on. Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience working with Dr. Beth! I decided to seek Root Cause Medical Clinic because I was not getting any answers through my conventional doctors and was just being pushed from one specialty to another. I had multiple rashes, terrible hot flashes, uvula swelling, and major insomnia. With the support of Dr. Beth and the dietician, I was instructed to do an elimination diet, which was easier than expected. My hint would be to eat at home for the first 3 weeks so you have total control over ingredients. After being on several different protocols and herbs/supplements, all of the above symptoms are gone! I was given a lymphatic drainage technique to use and had a wonderful side benefit of it almost completely healing a shoulder injury that I've dealt with for 20+ years. You do need to be ready to make some dietary changes, but when you start feeling benefits, it's so worth it. I can easily give up a few things, to be symptom free.

Fantastic experience: I have to say Root Cause is a life saver. I’ve had the privilege of being treated by Dr. Rick and the experience has been exceptional to say the least. I was having a hard time physically and was directed to get it handled. I immediately thought my prior patient experience at Root Cause in 2020 and how good I felt being on program under them. Well I decided if it worked before it must work again so I returned to Root Cause a few weeks ago. Now it’s been three weeks and I have implemented the changes that was recommended by Dr. Rick and I feel amazing. I feel I got out of my zombie state that I had no idea I was in because I was so used to it. My body feels like it’s really functioning and working with me to get it to its optimum. We did find the Root Cause and it’s a perfect name for this practice. They deliver what they promise. Fantastic experience: Root Cause Clinic has been super helpful when it comes to helping me heal from my hernia. I was in the worst pain when I found them, not able to breathe properly and also having a lot of acidity issues. Dr. Jake especially had knowledge a lot of other Chiro's didn't and was able to help with physical manipulation of my stomach as well as Chiro adjustments. Fantastic experience: It’s hard to find words to express how much I appreciate Root Cause, The staff and doctors are amazing. Fantastic experience: Without being too winded, I have just a few words to share. I was a skeptic of natural medicine due to my family being in the medical field my entire life, my medical doctors snubbing their noses at natural medicine and the fact that insurance wouldn’t cover natural care. Negative experience: I called to set up an appointment. On the phone, I was told I would need to be willing to spend at least a couple thousand dollars to work with them. I had two consultations that totaled about $600. During those two consultations, I explained my symptoms, and at the second consultation, they explained to me how inflammation reacts in the body causing most of my symptoms. After spending the $600 and not having done any testing at that point, I was given a protocol that would cost about $4,500. I asked for a refund because I felt it was misleading to have two consultations before ever being treated at the price of $600. I was told that because Dr. Rick took the time to review my symptoms from the previous consultation and then spent an hour of his time with, I would not receive a refund. It doesn't quite feel right to not have any tests run and being handed a $4,500 protocol. I have read great reviews of Root Cause, and I imagine if you are someone who is not strapped financially, this is a great place to receive treatment.

Fantastic experience: Love love love my IV drips with Sierra! She’s great, it never hurts and she is great to chat with too. Highly recommend! All the IVs are awesome too, I can’t pick a favorite. I also regularly get adjustments with Jake which keep me feeling loose and help me a lot! Thank you!!

Fantastic experience: Ive been doing the monthly plan at Root Cause for 3 months now and its helped me out so much! The program is such a great deal for everything I get. We get two adjustments with Dr Jake. He goes above and beyond other adjustments by giving me easy and quick exercises at home to help improve my posture which is finally after years of attempts actually improved and improved by a lot. Outside of that the vitamin injections and vitamin drips keeps me super healthy. I haven't been sick all year which is new for me. I also love all of the wellness sessions. They have a full body red light therapy which has improved my skim issues. Anway's there is so much to this program and the price is RIGHT!

Fantastic experience: Root Cause has made such a difference is my life! My whole life I have struggled with stomach issues and began to think there was no hope and it was something I had to deal with for the rest of my life. Little did I know that Root Cause would have all the answers. Dr. Rick was so informative and ran the proper tests I needed. He knew exactly what needed to be done! Through my program I found out that I had a hiatal hernia and had a gluten intolerance. Wendy was super helpful with making sure I was staying on track with the elimination diet and was also so informative about my overall health. I learned so much from her! Negative experience: I was very disappointed with the 2 consultations I had with Dr. Vicki and Dr. Rick. I contacted them because of my hiatal hernia, and I did read some of the nice reviews from other clients. I had already done a lot of research and part of that was watching Dr. V videos on you tube. I felt I had a really good understanding of my condition. The issue for me was what was included in the $4000.00 protocol to address the condition. I couldn't get an answer from the person over the phone nor did I get that in my first consultation with Dr. Vicki. I made the decision to move forward to have a consultation with Dr. Rick. Pre consultation paper work was filled out including an extensive health history. During my consultation with Dr. Rick, he went over what a hiatal hernia is and in great detail. Again, I already knew this information. He never went over my health history and in the end laid out what the protocols were going to be as well as the cost. After paying over $600 between the 2 consultations I finally found out what the $4000 would cover and learned about something I already knew, a hiatal hernia. At the end of the consult I was immediately contacted by their office, two calls and a text message, to get me to sign up and pay the fee in advance. It all seemed very rushed. In the end I made the choice to not move forward. I feel like Dr. Vicki could have told me this information during my consultation with her, for $75. Again, my health history was never discussed with Dr. Rick, so I don't feel that was a factor. Dr. Rick did tell me that they pretty much run the same tests and set up consults with their other practitioners, physical therapist and their dietitian, as a standard protocol for hiatal hernia treatment. I'm a very self educated person and do a lot of research and ask a lot of questions when I sit down with a doctor. Over the years I have been told that I'm not like most of the patients that walk through the door. This was the same experience I had with Root Cause. I discovered on my own that I had high mold toxicity as well as figuring out that I indeed had a hiatal hernia. I have continued to search and have found a new source to help me through this hernia issue.

Seriously, without them, I'd be stuck with a messed-up vagus nerve, on my way to hiatal hernia surgery, and popping omeprazole pills like they were candy. Fantastic experience: I came to Root Cause Clinic on Jan 2023. It was my New Years Resolution to finally find out what was wrong with me. I suffered from extreme heart burn, sudden weight gain and bloating. My regular doctors just said to loose weight and take Prilosec and over the counter acid reducer pills, which I did for years and years. I was tired of not having a "cure" just a solution. Dr. Rick, Dr. Dawn and Dr. Sterling and Lisa and Vanessa the Dietician, and the staff at Root Cause are amazing people and want to help and listen. They quickly did a few tests and determined I was gluten intollerant. With nutritional coaching and temporary supplements and elimination of gluten, I'm completely better. I no longer need Prilosec. My iron is now better because I'm off the Prilosec. Another WIN! . I have also been working with Dr. Sterling to fix my hiatal hernia and loosen up my diaphragm through massage manipulation. While several "regular" doctors told me that I should learn to live with severe walking and balance problems associated with peripheral neuropathy in my 75-year-old feet, Dr. Rick Peterson of Root Cause Medical Clinic said, "I think we can help you with that!" And he did. Big time. The operating Root Cause principle is that our bodies are designed to heal themselves "automatically," but healing is sometimes blocked by external factors such as toxins, imbalances and food sensitivities. When you identify and remove the external impediments, the body will heal itself naturally. I am happy to say that, after 4 months on one of the Root Cause programs, my heretofore numb feet have feeling coming back to them again, and I am walking and balancing better.
