Positive experience: Soldierfit always gives me a challenging workout. I have an injury to my left knee and the instructors always provide me with a modification so I can still participate. Sometimes it feels brutal but you can go at your own pace. I will say that the instructors aren’t created equal. There’s one in particular whose classes I avoid because it’s simply too difficult for me and I feel like I’m wasting my time because I can’t experience the maximum benefit if I can’t manage to get through the workout. I strongly recommend power yoga on Saturday mornings with Cynthia at the Gaithersburg location. Admittedly, I haven’t lost any weight yet but I do feel stronger and I can stand to take classes more consistently. Membership is pricy but if you attend the bootcamps, it’s worth it and much better than a gym membership where one can get stuck in a routine and fail to identify the best exercises to meet their goals be it weight loss, muscle building, etc.

Fantastic experience: If you really want to challenge yourself, workout with like minded people and so much more. Then you should try a weeks worth of Solderfit classes. That is what I did and have been doing this for a decade. It may seem intimidating at first but you do you.

Fantastic experience: SolderFit is the first fitness facility I've joined that has stuck. Group classes, every day is different, a supportive community, and an understanding that folks come to fitness journey at all ages, shapes and sizes keep me coming back. I see mostly Megan Wright as my instructor, but Dalisis and Moussa are also terrific. I plan to keep coming back.

Negative experience: My initial experience at SoldierFit Gaithersburg was positive. But this business has seriously deteriorated over the past two years. The change from their former spacious location to their current strip-mall, single-room location makes a huge difference. (Of course, most of their advertisements still use photos from their former location.) Not only is much of their equipment no longer available, but their Boot Camp classes are now so crowded that it is difficult to do the exercises without making accidental contact with other attendees. Simultaneously with downgrading their service and product, they increased their membership rates to $125 a month. Customers should be aware of better options in the area.

Fantastic experience: Update 2022 Have used this gym for over a decade now and it only gets better. The current group of trainers are among the best they have ever had. If you are on the fence, Soldierfit is so much better then working out by yourself in a normal gym. Orginal review Great gym / bootcamp style workouts. I have been going for almost two years and I have seen amazing results much better then i could have ever done on my own at a normal gym. Yeah it costs more but it's worth every penny. Give it a try.

Soldierfit’s real differentiator is their team and the immense amount of work they put into building a strong community. It’s remarkable to see trainers organize charity events, team accountability activities, and day in and day out creatively designing our boot camps to be engaging and effective. I deeply appreciate the people and the trainers who make going to workout a fun sociable activity!

Negative experience: The only thing I like about this place is the coach's. They are amazing specially Moussa and Jenny. I enjoyed their classes. I will miss them but there cancellation policy is not right. Be aware of that. I was emailing back and forth to get an answer why they are charging me extra one month because since I was in less than one year their policy says I have to give 3 month notice which is not fair. I said okay then I informed them on April then my last payment should be on July then they said me they will charge me to August. I ask for an explanation they ignored me. It’s unprofessional then on my second email they respond and said they will change that. After that email I was following up my bank account and they charged me for the month of August which they told me they will not then I emailed them to refund my money. This is inappropriate and will destroy the company image. I have been in other gyms and I haven’t had such experience. I decided to myself not to return to this place ever even will not recommend for my friends or anyone. Anyways pay attention to every thing!!!

Fantastic experience: Been a member since 2018 and have loved every minute (even those really tough lift ones) at SoldierFit - Gaithersburg. Their ability to adapt to both the business events to the likes of COVID and to adapt programs for your body type, build, skill, or mobility has been wonderfully amazing. Trainers prior and current have all had great knowledge and communication to lead and teach with design for your needs. A hard concept since we as people tend to cross compare, but the focus should be on where you are at, and they keep this as a forefront in their instructions. I encourage anyone interested to go set new goals and achieve them with the trainer led programs like SPECOPS or 1-on-1 personal trainings to really commit to becoming "soldier-fit" for any of life's deployments. Shout out to the amazing staff and awesome "troops" that share in your next journey at The Fort in Gaithersburg. Hoo-ah!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a SoldierFit for 3 years now. I love that there is no mirrors and we’re all in the same T-shir: it doesn’t matter how good or bad you are. I can go at my own pace and can see how much I improved throughout the years... I couldn’t do one push up when I started, now I can!!! Jokes aside, the family environment, friendly staff and awesome trainers, makes me want to come back day after day. I love that I don’t have to think about what to do for exercise: all I have to do is “show up” and they take care of the rest.

Negative experience: Basically the rep (Fatima) lied to me about being able to cancel my membership anytime and now that I’ve called to cancel I’m being told that I am responsible for a 12 month contract. All I received was scripted robotic responses from the reps at the 800# and the Gaithersburg location. I will not return to soldierfit and will not recommend it to anyone. I am now being told that I have to pay 3 months membership fee to cancel. What a rip off !!!!

Negative experience: CONSUMER BEWARE!!! They just hired a new recruitment manager, Fatima, and let’s just say I should’ve trusted my gut instinct from the beginning. This was a HUGE step in the WRONG direction when this position was taken from Antoine. She is manipulative, she is a liar, and she is a horrible person to put at the face of recruitment. She doesn’t understand her job, will throw you under the bus to protect her own image with the company, and attempts to regurgitate information without truly understanding what she’s saying. Before signing up again, there was an issue with a past balance from years ago whom Russell in their billing department graciously forgave. Before that, Fatima and I had a discussion about this not once, not twice, but a few times and she promised it could be forgiven (before consulting with HQ) in addition to waiving the enrollment fee. I came in to sit down and enroll, she pulled up my old account and seemed to process everything through (including my first month payment) without issue. That is until I received an e-mail the following day from the Soldierfit system saying ‘ they couldn’t process the balance on my account’ which I was confused about since I had JUST paid. Well, Fatima also got a copy of this email and never reached out to me and swept it under the rug until I brought it to their attention. She then curved me and told me to talk to Dawn at the front desk who has never handled any of my billing. She also made up some story about there only being a balance from 2 waters on my account, that there wasn’t anything else she saw which was untrue being as though I never even had outstanding water charges on my account. Come to find out, the system was attempting to charge me my outstanding balance from 2014/2015 and attempted to use my new card on file for payment. Listen, if SF had decided that I needed to pay this, fine, but to be intentionally misled by Fatima who is only about meeting membership quota at any cost and sacrifice necessary was infuriating! I could’ve been out money that I was promised would’ve been forgiven. She put blame on everyone else instead of taking responsibility for her wrongdoing...strike 1... I subsequently signed up for their $59/month plan (only because a friend I referred wanted to sign up) that allows you to workout up to 2x a week, no more than 8x a month. I originally chose this plan because I am a business owner, mother, and in school, so I could not commit to more. Upon seeing how hectic my schedule had become, I figured that since I had paid for 8 classes, I should be able to use all 8 classes within that particular billed month. When I called to confirm this, NOBODY knew the answer to this...not surprising considering they just threw this membership tier level out there pretty randomly, moving from their $99 a month base pricing. Anyway, I got in contact with Fatima who said ‘she’d heard’ I had some questions about this and that I HAD to take my 2x a week or I lost them. I NEVER was told this when signing up NOR did they have this as fine print on the contract I signed. She said they ‘legally’ can enforce this even though I was not given this info before committing to a contract. While she was eating in my ear, she condescendingly attempted to ‘mock’ my concern and, without thought, offer a cancellation instead of working to retain my business and make it right. She never once apologized for making this mistake by not divulging this information, because again, her image with the company....strike 2 I called today to talk to HQ about my concern and Fatima made sure to be the one who answered the phone, only to deflect me to the accounting manager. She’s a horrible, horrible image for Soldierfit and definitely not what Danny built this company on. I’m not surprised considering she was on Facebook begging for someone to hire her just a few weeks before coming to Soldierfit. I’ll miss the trainers and especially Dawn and Antoine, but the shady business that Fatima is creating I cannot subject myself to and I’m sure more troops will back out eventually....

Fantastic experience: I spent a year at SF and benefitted from the fitness training I received. The instructors were friendly and worked with my limitations, modifying activities to accommodate my age and lesser capacity. Toward the end of my contract I switched from classes to PT for a month to work on balance issues. I discovered that I was double charged for the last two months and wasn’t satisfied with the initial contact I had with the billing office, with their agreeing to end my original one-year contract for classes, but implying I had an ongoing contract for PT at $280/month! My understanding had been that I was paying for 8 PT sessions at $35 – for one month, not a year - a financially significant miscommunication. My original contract being ended I no longer attended SF. I had hoped to recoup the $358 I believed I was overcharged but I was out of town for an extended period and didn’t pursue the matter. Later I received a promotional email from Dave, the local SF owner. I let him know of the above and my disappointment with how things stood. After emailing back and forth with details I figured I’d need to absorb the loss due to double billing, and was just grateful to be free of the $280/month that I was sure I had not signed up for. Some time later I was delighted to be notified that the money was being refunded to my account – this at Christmas and so timely to provide for grandchildren’s gifts. I am happy to be able to give a good review to the local Gaithersburg SF.

Fantastic experience: My second home! You will not find people on their phones and taking selfie videos here...members come to train and work hard. PROS: - Staff and members all share the same welcoming, motivating energy...which is priceless. - Bootcamps are challenging, trainers guide you and are attentive to offer modifications. - The gym side isn't filled with mirrors or typical machines - instead it has monkey bars, barbell racks, free weights, TRX straps, row/bike machines, multifunctional weight machines.
