Magnolia Creek Treatment Center for Eating Disorders

Fantastic experience: Magnolia Creek’s alumni family support group has been a source of much encouragement as I continually learn to navigate supporting my loved one with an eating disorder. It’s a group where you can be open and honest with your emotions and experiences. It is so helpful to know I’m not alone and to have others who also understand the world of disordered eating is invaluable.

Fantastic experience: Magnolia Creek alumni community has been a huge help in the transition between inpatient treatment and outpatient. Although I wasn’t at mag creek for long, the alumni program welcomed me in to help ease the struggles of real world stressors. The community is so encouraging and always open to help! I am grateful for this resource and the individuals who make it happen!

Negative experience: The nurse in charge here is biased and unfair at best.

Fantastic experience: The Family Therapy support group at Magnolia Creek is an extra program. Since my adult chikd was inpatient at Magnolia Creek I have tried to be on the Thursday Zoom cal because I have learned so much from Taylor and the family members hat participate. I have participated in many great discussions concerning how we can best help our love one. Many have shared some great resources. I have learned so much from others who have had similar experiences.

Fantastic experience: Mag Creek alumni program is true evidence that treatment is not a one stop shop. It takes continual choices outside the walls of treatment to maintain lasting recovery. I am so grateful that Magnolia Creek continues to care for clients after discharge. I believe the alumni program is what sets MC apart. They allocate resources to host weekly support groups and a space for alumni to connect. I am now married and have a baby- a life I couldn’t have imagined without recovery.

Fantastic experience: As a husband of someone who received treatment here I can honestly say I am very thankful for the staff that helped my wife in recovery. She quickly felt welcomed and was empowered in her recovery. Their Alumni and Family program continues the support after discharge. I have learned a great deal through the weekly virtual meetings and I know my wife also appreciates I have gained knowledge through the experience of others how to best support and validate her. It is without a doubt that receiving treatment and continued therapy at Magnolia Creek our marriage has benefitted.

Fantastic experience: In August 2024, my 14-year-old daughter was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa, restricting type, severe. After two months of trying to do everything possible to help her recover in a home-based treatment, the doctors and therapists who treated her recommended that we take her to Magnolia Creek Treatment Center for Eating Disorders. I honestly tell you that I had serious doubts about taking my daughter to be admitted. But after I decided to listen to the doctors' recommendations, and we took her in mid-October 2024. The first few days were difficult because my daughter did not want to stay, but after a week we noticed the change in her attitude. After 3 months my daughter was discharged to continue her treatment in PHP mode. During those three months at the Magnolia center, I only have expressions of gratitude for all the staff who work there. The RCS, the nurses, therapists, staff in general. Everyone treated her wonderfully and helped my daughter recover physically and mentally so she could continue her treatment at home. My daughter came to love all the staff at Magnolia center and the girls who were in treatment with her became like family to her. I want to highlight the great work of the therapists in getting my daughter, who is very stubborn by the way, to the point of wanting to accept getting rid of the eating disorder. This is easy to say, but it is a great achievement. Once again, I have nothing, but gratitude and I highly recommend this center and its staff.

Fantastic experience: My time at Magnolia Creek was truly amazing!! All the staff were so kind hearted and welcoming! They made the environment a safe and loving place to grow and flourish! My team of Rachel, Kelsey, and MK were truly spectacular and I couldn’t have asked for a better team. I’m truly going to miss them! I also wanted to give a shout out to Caroline she brighten my day and brought a huge joy to my day each day, she was such an amazing light to my journey! Clif the Chef was also spectacular too, he was so kind and genuine and always knew how to make me laugh. I could go on and on and give everyone a shoutout but it would be a book! These are just a few people who made a major impact on my journey and there were more! Magnolia Creek is amazing! And I 100% recommend going there.

Fantastic experience: Shortly after I graduated high school I was admitted to Magnolia Creek in the adult house. After almost 2 years of out patient treatment my mom realized nothing was working for me and I needed a higher level of care. The two hour drive to MC felt like the longest drive of my life I was scared and had no idea what to expect and honestly was mad my mom was making me go. Pulling in I remember thinking it's pretty but I don't want to be here. After my first week of being there and adjusting to how everything works I felt a little since of relief like I was safe to be myself there. I made life long friends that still check in and hold me accountable daily. I had the most amazing team Kendall, Madison, and Janifer that helped me with so much more than just an eating disorder. MC also has the most amazing staff I could have asked for Brittany, Bella, and Caroline literally kept me sane will I was in treatment I like to think they helped me just as much as my team. I think about the staff of magnolia creek constantly and I am so so incredibly grateful to have gone when I did because Magnolia Creek literally saved my life. I am the happiest and healthiest I have ever felt in my life and I honestly could not have done it without every person on the MC staff.

Fantastic experience: My daughter’s stay at Magnolia Creek has challenged her eating disorder and brought her closer to a decision to recover permanently. The staff has been direct and honest about what she needed to accomplish throughout her treatment but were always supportive and caring. Magnolia was our last hope before another trip to the emergency room, and we are thankful that they opted to admit her even though they knew she was borderline. She committed to follow the process if they would accept her. She has mostly done her part, primarily because the staff has worked with many anorexic women and could understand her thought processes and behaviors. There seems to be good communication among the providers and with the RCS’s and other staff. This united approach eliminates confusion which can sustain the eating disorder. In family therapy, all parties were encouraged to be honest, open, and direct, which assured good communication and progress toward a good discharge plan. Magnolia Creek is in a quiet, peaceful environment, and while the milieu changes as residents come and go, my daughter was always able to develop a relationship with at least one other individual at the facility. She is looking forward to being involved in alumni activities. We recommend Magnolia Creek without reservation.

Fantastic experience: I didn’t know who to turn to or if I could even be helped. I found myself stuck; at my wit’s end. I contacted Renessa, the admissions coordinator of Magnolia Creek, and immediately thought I had met an angel. She worked well with me and my family. We also talked with Jessica Schafer. She assured me that MC was the place for me. The grounds are kept beautiful by Heath. He takes care of everything on campus. Heath and Clif, are the only males on campus. They treat clients with the utmost respect. Caroline, admissions, met me at the car with the most reassuring smile. Lindsay, the executive director is phenomenal. Dr. H, the Clinical Director, is seriously the best! She knows all the clients and is friendly and the best listener. The program here is the best and she is the backbone. Sam, the program director, was beyond amazing. Because of her, I know I have the power to rewire my brain! Dr. Scales is the doctor and easy to talk to. Leah, the psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, is an absolute lifesaver. Her approach is one of true collaboration and encouragement. Terrica, the nurse NP, watched my health so closely and is so easy and pleasant to talk to!! Nursing – where do I start with them? Special shoutout to day nurse Jackie. She is such a caring nurse and always made my visits to the nurses’ station one filled with laughter. But, Ola, Lashonda, Kim, Brittany, Aleta, and Michelle took good care of me during the days. Special angels like Casey and Peggy worked at night. Maggie, Daryelle, Dan, and Lakrisha kept us safe as we slept. Candace oversees all the nurses and was such a comfort and bubbly person. Mrs. Cindy is gem . She is the house keeper and spoils us! She is willing to do whatever to make us comfortable. I cannot even emphasize how great the quality of food is. Lunch and dinner are prepared by Chef Clif, Sous Chef Carrie, and Darian. I will miss the food at MC, but I have been exposed to a variety of cooking and baking groups which helped me to gain comfort in the kitchen. We spend our days and nights with RCS’s. Courtney, the lead, is amazing and cares. She makes sure things go smoothly. I wish I could write a paragraph about each RCS. The day team works so hard to keep the day running without hiccups and tending to our needs. Taashina (we love you), Elena (so patient), Bella (brings in laughter), Brittany (understanding and supportive), Katie ( aray of sunshine), Lauren (goes above & beyond), Mama J (a teddy bear), and Krissy (treats us with respect). The night RCS’s kept us safe and helped us end and start the day. Sam (easy to approach), Christen (never a dull moment), Ms. Wanda (a energizer bunny with the biggest heart), Ms. Jackie (makes sure things are taken care of), Presley (always a smile on her face), and Cailey (so dedicated & willing to help). Abbie, the teacher, is full of joy. I loved her groups – so practical. The dietetics staff took such vigilant care of our progress. I can’t say thank you enough to MK and Alex. They both helped me so much on outings and were always around campus and willing to chat. The therapists not on my team, Janifer (always willing to help; loved the outings to the park!), Madison (knowledgeable and provider of information), Anna (she brought music therapy to MC and is invested in all of our well beings), and Kelly (a pro at groups). My team: Kelsey, my family therapist, worked with me and my family. We now are all on the same page. Rachel, my individual therapist was just what I needed. She gave me appropriate challenges and her advice was always spot on. I would not be where I am today without her. Leigh-Ann, my dietitian and nutrition director. I feel extremely blessed to have her on my team. She truly understands, met me where I was at any time. Taylor, the alumni coordinator is a blessing to MC. She leads support groups for alumni. Catherine, the HR manager, steps in when needed and is always smiling. The people here will always hold a special place in my heart. Because of MC, I have hope and excitement for life!

Positive experience: Magnolia Creek was a great Experience! The house is very clean and homey! I loved my team and got so much from it. Most of the staff were so sweet and helpful! I would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: oh, the joy it was to be in this loving place! i have now been out of here for a month, officially! this entire experience literally saved my life. i was diagnosed with anorexia this year, and my diabetes was starting to worsen from the ED and they literally helped me come so far. im so grateful for all the staff here, despite the many differences we may have had i was in here for 3 months, and to be honest, i was terrified leaving. i still miss this place, its odd to miss treatment for me, but i dont regret coming here one bit. this was my first time in treatment for ED, and they helped me so much. i highly recommend this facility! trust in your team, its truly what will make everything worthwhile. communication and honesty are the keys to a successful treatment here! Kendall, Kelly, Janifer, and Dr. H, truly were all a dream team for me. i miss them so much, and wish i had them in outpatient i made lifelong, loving connections with each and every single person i encountered in here. i thank everyone here for all the love, the support, for making my birthday still so so so special for me despite being in PHP. if you feel that you need help, this is the best place to go to. they are so kind, so caring, so educated! i learned so much about things i never thought were even wrong that previous doctors taught me! those 3 months blew by! the facility might be way out in the boonies, but its truly the best spot! the nature, the gazebo, the turts (oh how i miss them), truly connecting with nature. i swear, city girls will survive (im a city girl), please come here. and to the staff, i thank you so much for your love and commitment to taking care of me, i genuinely love all of you so much (my two fave men, heath and clif included). you all have a special place in my heart, and ill forever be grateful towards you guys peace out from everyones favorite becca ☺️

Fantastic experience: My time at Magnolia Creek was incredibly valuable and I readily reentered the world due to the skills and resources I gathered here. The staff really cares about you, specifically Caroline, Taylor, Bella, Brit, Darian, Sam (both night shift and clinician), and my team (Alex, Kelsey, Rachel). I was pushed in the best way possible to challenge the thoughts that were preventing me from living my life to the fullest. If you are thinking about coming here, please do. Fantastic experience: It's been a little over a year since leaving Magnolia Creek and I can say for certainty that the staff at MC saved my life. I am forever grateful for the EMDR therapy I received, as well as the for the group therapy. I felt like I was treated as a person, not just another patient. I have and will continue to refer people who struggle with eating disorders here.

The friends that I have made through the program along with all of the skills that I have learned have literally been a lifesaver. Fantastic experience: My experience at Magnolia creek was amazing!! There is nothing I could complain about! The environment is in nature and so peaceful. Everyday there is something to look forward to such as, outdoor groups, outings, creative groups, and so much more! The teen program is amazing and everyone was so welcoming. I was lucky to experience both teen and adult programs and I learned so much because of our groups and the amazing group of girls I was with! The staff know exactly what they are doing and will provide you so much support! Shout out to the best Kendall, Janifer, and Rachel! The RCS’S are also amazing especially Brittany and Bella. Fantastic experience: The professionals at Magnolia Creek are a remarkably talented group. While ED is serious, difficult business, they enabled our daughter, to find the skills and perspective she needs to address this frightening condition. They were challenging and patient, probing and supportive. They connected with her. What more could we ask? In the second week of her stay, our daughter began to tell us how happy she had become and how interested she was in improving her self-image. We were thrilled, especially given her dark passage through the previous year. Her team: Janifer, Steph and Maddy were incredibly insightful and talented and developed a deep connection with our daughter. Anyway, the positive perspective continued through her discharge. We loved interacting with everyone there, as did our daughter. We know that ED swats away attempts to contain it. Magnolia Creek gave our daughter the tools to respond. For that alone, we’re forever grateful.

Fantastic experience: Magnolia Creek was quite literally my lifesaver. I attended residential and partial patient care and feel like I got the most out of my experience. I feel very grateful to have found this place, The atmosphere is very safe and peaceful. The staff (ESPECIALLY Brittany, Bella, Madison, and Kendall) are filled with compassion and are determined to help your recovery process further. The house and other facilities on the property are very clean and well taken care of. I highly recommend this place, don’t know where I’d be without it. MC Cribz 4 ever!!!

Fantastic experience: There are so many things I could say about Magnolia Creek. I’m going to start off by talking about how great the staff is. The therapists, dietitians, and RCS are AMAZING! When I tell you they saved my life, I wouldn’t still be here today without them! I have been to Magnolia Creek twice and I loved it. By the time I discharged it felt like home and I was actually sad to leave. I cried, my team cried, we all cried. We had all made bonds that will last a lifetime and I will always remember my team and everyone that helped me in recovery. If you or someone you know is suffering from an eating disorder I promise you this is the place! You aren’t just a client to them, you are FAMILY! #MCCRIBZFOREVER

Positive experience: I got kicked out, but still, it was a great place. I just wish they let me talk to them before transporting me to a psych ward for no big deal, also, don't listen to the therapist Kelly. She's a liar and manipulator. She was my therapist and she lied to the hospital they sent me to to make sure I got admitted there, other than that, some staff (Lucy, Krissy) could be very rude and disrespectful. Lucy tried to pressure me into talking to her while I was nonverbal and uncomfortable talking to her. I didn't experience anything personal with Krissy, but I saw what she did to others. She over-potioned their food, got mad at them for things they couldn't help (such as BURPING???) and made many teens there cry. But, there were a lot more kind staff, even though Darien and Alex are kind of strict, I still love them (with boundaries!!) But here's a list of my favorite staff: Janice, Wanda, Sam, Katie, Darien, Lizzie, Heath, Cliff, Kendall, BRITNEY (she transported me to the psych ward, she was so comforting and helpful, I LOVE YOU WITH BOUNDARIES!!!), and Kelsey (I may have forgot a few, but all the staff there is amazing except Kelly, Krissy, and Lucy) Thank you for the experience, but I don't know if I would reccomend this place to someone else, no offense to the people who work here actually trying to make that place decent for people struggling with eating disorders. (BRITNEY THANK YOU SO MUCH, YOU'RE AMAZING, I HOPE YOUR DAUGHTER COMES OUT TO BE JUST AS MUCH OF AN AMAZING PERSON AS YOU ARE!!!) - Alex/Faith, also they didn't give me over half of my belongings back after I left, so I'm still upset about that, cuz if you're gonna make that place not worth going back to, at least give me my things back. I hope another teen with an eating disorder found my things and put them to good use. Also, the pictures of my friends and family, where are they? I got my brother's picture and the necklace with his ashes in it, as well as his Pokemon cards, but I don't have any of the pictures of my nephew, friend, my blowdryer, my hygeine products, my straigtener, or most of my art that I did there. Love y'all with boundaries!!<3 (the staff that actually cares about people with life-threatening disorders)

Negative experience: magnolia creek did not help me a single bit. had a nurse try to gaslight me into feeling guilt about my medical illnesses as if an eating disorder doesn’t literally destroy your body. had another nurse tell me i was “influencing” other girls not to eat just because i was struggling and she said they all looked up to me, that’s there problem not mine. sent me back to the hospital almost weekly because of medical issues that the nursing staff could have most likely fixed at mag creek. then kicked me out for yelling at an rcs because she told me i was a bad influence on a new girl because i didn’t want to drink my ensure because i was already about to throw up lol i just want my entire treatment team to know that i am no better than i was when i left because instead of trying to help me while struggling the most, i get kicked out. lol y’all are all nuts

Fantastic experience: My daughter was discharged yesterday from Magnolia creek. This has been such an amazing journey not just for my daughter but our entire family. When she went she didn't want to be there as most teens don't, the staff was so supportive and understanding. Everyone at Magnolia creek kept us informed, they were professional and it was obvious they took her care very seriously. She was very defiant going in. In the beginning she called me night after night telling me how much she hates it and for me to come get her. I hung in there and trusted that the Magnolia creek team had everything under control. I'm so glad I did. I started to see an amazing turn around. Her attitude changed for the better and she sounded truly happy for the first time in a long time. The staff has already been reaching out making sure her after care is set up and will continue to check on her progress. Yesterday as we picked her up there were long goodbye hugs. She and her new friends were exchanging contact info. As we started to drive off she said that she was glad to be going home but that she was going to miss her Magnolia creek family with a little tear in her eye. I highly recommend Magnolia creek to anyone that is suffering from an Eating disorder, they will set you up for success because they truly care. I want to thank everyone at Magnolia creek. Keep up the great work, you truly are changing lives. I only wish I could give you 10 stars.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough about what MC has done for my niece. For the first time, in over 2 years, I can see the light in her eyes!!! She fought it at first. But then hopped on board with the program and excelled! She not only looks fantastic, but seems genuinely happier than her former self. The weekly online support group has helped me not only understand her more, but myself as well. I have seen MC's results and couldn't be happier!! I HIGHLY recommend their program. And thank you so much MC for all you have done for my sweet niece. And a thank you to Ms Helms for her extraordinary online support group. I feel privileged to be a part of your group!

Fantastic experience: I will be forever grateful for my time and experiences at Magnolia Creek. From the moment I stepped foot on campus and Taylor and Caroline greeted me, I knew this was a special place. The compassionate, caring clinicians and staff guided me from surviving with an eating disorder to learning how to thrive without it. My care plan was personalized to meet me where I was at mentally, emotionally, and physically, while the day-to-day programming provided the structure needed to heal. Each person, from the admissions team, clinical staff, nursing, chefs, facilities manager, recovery care specialists, they all truly care about clients and worked tirelessly to allow us to heal. During my stay, I learned how to laugh and cry while dancing in the rain, literally and figuratively, and I realized that life can be so much more than what my eating disorder had to offer. Magnolia Creek and the amazing people there guided me back to life.

Fantastic experience: My sister attended recovery at Mag Creek for eight weeks and came home a changed person. She is determined to keep up the things she learned there and feels supported even after her discharge. We are so grateful for the care she received there!

Fantastic experience: I am so happy that I decided to embark on my recovery journey at Magnolia Creek. All of the staff, from clinicians to RCSs and beyond, were so incredibly kind and supportive throughout my entire time there. It’s a safe space to start the scary road to recovery with the right people to get you through it. I made great friends and felt loved and supported during my entire time there. I owe Mag Creek my recovery and would definitely recommend it to anyone who’s ready to start healing!

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful experience with Magnolia. The patient and our family felt supported in an open and supportive environment. The patient has returned home with strong coping skills and we, as a family, have a much better understanding of their diagnosis and how best to support them.

Fantastic experience: Magnolia Creek did a fantastic job of working with our family on an incredibly challenging issue, and while I wouldn’t say it’s fun, our experience was overall a positive one! We really loved working with Kelsey, Taylor, Kelly, Steph, Katie, Darian, Tericca, Casey, Nurse Jackie, Rebecca, mama J, Cliff, Hailey, and many more!! Hard work, but literally life saving. Thank you all so much!

Negative experience: 1. Magnolia Creek hires ex-prison guards to care for its clients. 2. I was told by the admissions director that I would receive twice weekly therapist sessions with my primary therapist. I only received once a week therapy. 3.Some of the classes were taught by degree-seeking students, not degree-holding professionals. 4. Many of the policies are applied to all clients, regardless of individual needs. For instance, all exercise, including walking, is prohibited for the first few weeks. Clients are restricted to staying inside the house, except for walking to the dining house for meals. Very limited walking is allowed after a few weeks. Because of that policy, I lost a good deal of fitness. 5. The two primary therapists (individual and family therapy) were knowledgable and intelligent. They cared deeply about my progress, and brought energy, thoughtfulness, and compassion to each session. However, connecting individually for only two hours per week was insufficient for significant personal growth. 6. Because of the regimented meal schedule, I was able to achieve improvement with my eating disorder behaviors. While I appreciate that some others have made great progress with this program, it was not a great fit for me.

Fantastic experience: I am so happy with my daughter’s recovery process at Magnolia Creek. She has come back home and has such a real world view on her ED and the recovery process. I would recommend Magnolia Creek to anyone who is looking to recover from an ED.

Fantastic experience: My treatment at MC showed me what it means to be safe and guided to do the hard work at the same time. My team (Sam, Steph and Kelsey) as well as the rest of the clinical staff believed in me when I didn’t and supported me in ways I didn’t know I needed. It was also a beautiful space and the pond is magical. The food was great as well (shoutout to Cliff and Haily!) I really liked that the clients create the menu and the lead dietician LeeAnne followed the intuitive eating principles and was there to support every client with their meal plan or general support. I had been to multiple treatment centers before I found MC and was burnt out and didn’t feel much hope. I’m a queer young adult in a large body and felt respected and supported in who I am by all of the staff as well as the community. If you are seeing this review you have found a hidden gem and hope you take this chance, you deserve recovery

Fantastic experience: I owe so much to MC and all of the providers here; all I can say is thank you and to commit to a life of a recovery because THEY showed me how promising of a future I could have without ED. It took a lot to get me to come to MC in the first place, and I was very resistant to the entire process. However, through time and the support from my team, peers, and staff, I began to work on the important things to understand why I do not need or want the ED any longer. I looked forward to working with the clinicians, RCSes, the nurses, and all other staff here each day- they genuinely do care and have such good intentions. Hard work is time, time is progress, and progress is the goal! I really learned to be myself because everyone else is already taken :)

Fantastic experience: Wonderful place to receive treatment! This was my second time and was welcomed like family! Staff, therapists, nurses, everyone took care of me with open arms! I love them all! I recommend this facility HIGHLY!!!!

Positive experience: i personally had a great experience here in summer 2022. however, i have had clients i was there was go back now and say it has definitely gone down hill. apparently there are a lot more restrictions.

Positive experience: I was very satisfied with the care my daughter received. It was comforting to know that my daughter was in good hands. The staff was very helpful in helping out to set up aftercare.

Fantastic experience: where do i even start??? words cannot express how incredibly grateful i am for my stay at magnolia creek. it took a great deal of strength for me to decide to seek treatment. i had given up on overcoming my ED, i had lost all hope and it almost took my life. but from the moment i arrived i felt such a great deal of peace. there was not a single person there that didn't have the best intentions of healing for us. every aspect was so nurturing for my soul. the beautiful place was completely surrounded by nature. i thrived in the group of women that were in the same situation as i was, i immediately felt like i wasn't alone. being vulnerable from the very beginning created such a space for connection, it truly felt like a family to me! there was a perfect balance between structure and free time. not to mention the beautiful meals that i had the pleasure of eating every day! cooked with so much love and care. it was so important for me to have time and space to process, creative outlets, and consistent support. all of these needs were beyond met. i grew so much as a person, discovered a self-love i had never felt before. i want to express my gratitude for Rachel, Morgan, Janifer, Rebeca, Cliff, Hailey, Sam, Heith, Alex, Courtney, Kat, Britney, Wendy, Janice, Kelly, Taylor, Janay, ... and literally everyone!! thank yall for embracing me so kindly. i believe the forces that brought us together were greatly beyond us and it was truly divine timing. i had never felt so respected, loved, or cared for in my life. thank you from the bottom of my heart everyone.. all of the staff and all of the beautiful women in my group. i could write a book about my stay honestly! but ill stop here LOL. magnolia creek completely turned my life around and i am forever grateful!!! <3

Negative experience: Would NOT recommend it for a minor child with caring parents who want to be involved. Would not recommend for bulimia nervosa or dual psych diagnosis. I admitted daughter 2/13 she was suicidal and the events leading to bringing her there were intense. I dropped her off and heard NOTHING afterwards. I called day 2 to ask for an update and the nursing staff scoffed "were you told you would get daily updates?". There was TOTAL radio silence. The only information I was made privy to was when I wrote emails asking questions or specifically demanded a care plan meeting after about 3 weeks of being left out. The entire time she was there (6 weeks) I was completely left out of the loop unless I emailed or called. Even with my emails and calls I got very minimal information and vague, standard responses. Let's be VERY clear they advertise a 30 day program but they DO expect your child to be there 3 months or more. I specifically asked this question before admission and was assured that the average length of stay was 30 days give or take a little. But within 4 days my daughter was telling me that EVERY girl has been there for months and she was expected to stay that long as well. The meal plans ARE not individualized though they will repeatedly tell you "they are very specific to the patient" . They go by BMI and have all of the girls on the exact same plan. The discharge planning is NOT "highly involved" though they will regurgitate this as if it is an advertisement. My daughter WAS anticipated to stay 12 weeks and receive intensive outpatient therapy however they discharged her 6 weeks early and DID NOT refer her to another intensive outpatient therapy program..I'm not sure when exactly she recovered enough to no longer need the intensive therapy they recommended other than the fact that THEY would no longer be getting paid for it..Instead.... I was asked to setup appointments with local providers. I was referred to a dietician however my daughters insurance requires pre-authorization to work with the RD. So she has been home going on 3 weeks and still has not followed up with a RD and has NO pending appointments or way of getting setup with one unless I pay out of pocket. I have emailed regarding this issue with no help. In the 6 weeks we only had 3 family therapy sessions..one was an introductory and the other was a discharge..so really only one session that we talked about things. Mind you family therapy is the #1 approach for eating disorders in adolescents. Also the therapy was NOT intensive. She saw a personal therapist once a week and family therapist once a week starting week 3. I even requested a higher frequency of therapy. Which may as well have been requested to a brick wall. I have also emailed regarding the wording on her DC summary as I was asked to come get my daughter before her anticipated discharge date because she was "not progressing and too fixated on wanting to come home, unmotivated". However they documented that my daughter was "aggressive" towards others. This wording was NEVER used before but suddenly documented on her DC summary. Which o feel may cause problems in the future if my daughter ever requires inpatient treatment again. There was also an issue where my daughter was accused of being in a relationship with an adult female staff member. That I was not informed about in anyway. Though they did move the staff member to the adult side and away from the younger girls. I believe this issue was a lie perpetuated by another patient HOWEVER I do find it to be VERY irresponsible to not let a minor child's parent know of this happening. Parents I would not recommend this place if your daughter is a minor, newly diagnosed with any eating disorder other than anorexia. It is NOT for dual diagnosis such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation. I would not recommend it if you want to be informed, involved, educated and a part of the recovery of your child. And unless you plan to have them there the entire 12 weeks.

Fantastic experience: Cannot say enough about the level of care the team at Magnolia Creek offered our family. They assisted with every aspect. We are so fortunate to have this center in Alabama.

Fantastic experience: I don’t know if I will ever have enough words to express my gratitude for Magnolia Creek. After struggling with an eating disorder for over 20 years I was skeptical that I could ever truly recover. From the moment I arrived on campus I was met with such compassion and peace. The property is beautiful and so serene. The staff at Magnolia Creek are amazing and truly care about each and every client individually- you’re not just another number to them. The groups they offer are insightful and so helpful. During my time at Magnolia Creek I was able to not only improve my relationship with food but also with myself and others. I developed life-long friendships while there and will never forget all that Magnolia Creek has taught me and given me. I gained my life back and I will never take it for granted.

Fantastic experience: As a skeptic and veteran of inpatient mental health treatment, Magnolia Creek is the REAL DEAL and like NO OTHER in the state. From the dieticians, nursing staff, therapists, and Recovery Care Specialists who serve to monitor and help guide you through your daily programming, the treatment and compassion I received was OUTSTANDING. These individuals genuinely care about the clients and their well-being. The food/nutrition program on campus is excellent as you get a variety of delicious options. I owe my success in recovery to Mag Creek in the special, individualized treatment I received. This is not a "one size fits all" program as they offer something for everyone, especially those with dual diagnosis such as myself. High praise and gratitude to all at MC. Y'all rock!!!

Positive experience: I’m forever grateful for my time at magnolia creek. Coming here was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life so my time here was difficult, however, recovery and facing the eating disorder is difficult so there is no way around it. My life was changed after my time here because I learned so much about the disease and was supported and understood like I never have been before. This was such a learning curve to be here so time there is not easy but choosing to stay and be consistent is imperative to healing. I was disappointed in the lack of respect and support I received in my faith which is necessary to overcome the ED. I was also disappointed in the way that the way some difficult topics were discussed and how the entire group there was not able to express their beliefs but shamed for having a different opinion of gender, identity and sexuality. I felt extremely underheard and undersupported while those that had different viewpoints than me were praised. Some staff were better than others, however, that is to be expected. As far as ED treatment facilities go I would say this is one of the better ones out there versus the large franchised ones, such as ERC. The classes were helpful when people actually showed up prepared to reach them, however we had several sessions a day that no one was prepared for so it felt like a waste of time and that I was simply being “babysat” as an adult.

Fantastic experience: Very grateful to feel welcomed once I got there. Was a first time experience for me and I couldn’t be more pleased with the staff and how much they cared and supported me! Along my journey. Loved the beauty of it being out in nature. The groups were very eye opening and helpful to learn and better understand how the brain and ED all work together! Felt like I could really trust my team staff and nurses there when I had something on my mind! Very pleased with the oppurnuity to learn and grow, have taken a lot and has been very useful going out into the real world!

From the moment we arrived on this beautiful property…we were met with compassion and professionalism. The staff assured us that our chosen daughter would be surrounded by professionals who cared for her as their own. Our loved one got the best of care from her 3 clinicians. She formed friendships that continue to be part of her support network today. Magnolia Creek continues their support even after leaving treatment. We are able to continue individual and family support. Thank you Magnolia Creek for educating us, for the expert care , the family you became and the support you continue to give.

Negative experience: I went to Magnolia Creek the summer of '23. While I made some lifelong friends there, I wouldn't recommend this place to someone who struggles with binging or being overweight. Their meal plans are obviously ment for those who struggle with anorexia. I expressed my concerns about gaining even more weight and having health problems, but my concerns were overlooked and I was told not to worry. Well, now I'm prediabetic and have sleep apnea from the weight I gained while at Mag Creek. Thanks a lot for that. Again, if you struggle with binging or being heavier, I do not recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: Magnolia Creek was a great option for our daughter. The homelike atmosphere and wonderful staff made a difficult situation easier for us. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a treatment center.

Fantastic experience: I truly don't know where to even begin. I don't think I will ever have adequate words to express my heart and gratitude for this place and these people. My story and situation may be a little different than the average Ed story, but if sharing it could help even just one person like me, it is more than worth it. I wasn't "formally diagnosed" with an eating disorder until I was twenty-seven (this year) whereas most are developed and diagnosed at a young age. I went to see my PCP because I knew something was wrong and I got the diagnosis that day. She is someone that I really trust so when she told me she would like for me to go inpatient, I knew it is what I needed to do. Three weeks later, I was checking in to Mag Creek. In the beginning, I questioned if it was really "that bad," if I was "sick enough" and if I really needed to go to a treatment facility, but I am so thankful that I did. I was so nervous about going into a new place, being the new girl and not knowing anything and what things were going to be like. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt so welcomed, seen and cared for by the girls and all of the staff. It feels so crazy to say, but I felt so at home. I got to be there with such a sweet group of girls who are now my close friends, my team was so great, and the staff as a whole were some of the most genuine, kind, and compassionate people I have ever met. Magnolia Creek not only helps girls find healing freedom, healing and recovery from Ed's, but they also focus on mental health Co-Occurring disorders, life experiences, trauma and so much more. While learning and gaining a deeper understanding of the Ed, I had the opportunity to also address/learn so much more about the depression, anxiety and OCD which was huge for me. It changed my life! If you or someone you know is battling an eating disorder, I highly recommended Magnolia Creek for treatment. There is truly nothing better than getting to be in a safe space (and a super cozy home) surrounded by people who truly get it, girls who are fighting the same battle, and a staff that cares so deeply and will walk with you every step of the way. Maybe you are someone like me where the diagnosis is new, you think you aren't "sick enough" for treatment, or maybe you've battled your Ed for years and you are just so afraid of the unknown. Do it afraid. Take that step. Reach out for help. Pursue healing, freedom and recovery. It is absolutely possible and YOU ARE WORTH IT! Mag Creek will forever hold such a special place in my heart.

Fantastic experience: I loved my stay at magnolia creek! Loved the friendships I made and my team. It most definitely saved my life. Didn’t really believe I could ever recover but they gave me so much hope and really helped me believe that I could battle this disorder outside of treatment. Kelsey, Sam, and Taylor were definitely a god send. Couldn’t be more grateful for them and everything they did for me. They challenged me and really pushed me to further my recovery. If you are questioning getting help for your eating disorder I would highly recommend Magnolia Creek! You will make life long connections and it will teach you how to live apart from your ED. Fantastic experience: I would definitely recommend this facility. In my eyes this place saved my 14 year old daughters life. There team is amazing and they kept me updated weekly on my daughter's progress and I couldn't believe how well there program works. They're nurse's always contacted me to let me know when my daughter needed medication and got my approval first. They even have family counseling to help me and my family cope with not being able to see our daughter everyday. This place is amazing and my daughter is now home healthier than ever. Fantastic experience: Wow, I cannot say enough good things about Magnolia Creek! Being my first inpatient treatment facility, I was extremely nervous and super skeptical of going, plus very doubtful that I would ever recover. Magnolia Creek gave me a completely new perspective on recovery and a hope I didn’t think I could find. I was very anxious about my team and if they would approach therapy from a faith based worldview like I wanted, and so if this is something that you are concerned about, don’t be! In fact, I was heartbroken to say goodbye to my team because I came to love them so much. Everyone from the nurses to the RCS’s to the clinicians are on your team and want to encourage you the best that they can. The 4 groups a day taught me so much, and I love how I got a mini education in psychology, nutrition, relationships, and life lessons while there! The clinicians are intent on pouring into your life, and they were a steady support to me even on the worst days. I think if I could choose one word to describe my time at Magnolia Creek it would be “self-awareness.” The clinicians at Magnolia Creek taught me that my eating disorder was so much more than just external behaviors and helped me to uncover pain and past trauma that I didn’t even realize I was numbing out. They offered me not only a safe place to cry, to voice my fears, and to open up, but also so much love, support, forgiveness, grace, and encouragement. Did the ED disappear magically? No. Do I still struggle with thoughts and urges? Yes of course, but Magnolia Creek gave me the tools and gave me my power and my voice back over ED to choose to challenge my thoughts. I never thought I would ever be in the place I am today, and I am experiencing more peace and joy than I have in years. The Lord opened my eyes and saved me through Magnolia Creek, and I honestly don’t know how I can ever say thank you enough to Magnolia Creek for giving me another opportunity at life and for teaching me that there’s so much more to me and to my life than an ED. I will always be extremely grateful for this incredible place, and it will forever hold a special place in my heart Thank you, Mag Creek, for everything!!

Fantastic experience: I can’t brag enough on Magnolia Creek. The staff is wonderful. My daughter was in the youth house this was her first time away from home staff was great with helping with her being homesick. She said the food was great. The property is beautiful and the housing nice. She came home a totally different child. This experience helped with so much more than just her eating disorder. She has learned to love herself and others. She was taught so much for personal happiness and self respect. She has told everyone here at home she wants to forever be connected to Mag Creek. The support and connection with the family is great. I had zero complaints as a parent.

Negative experience: I would give zero stars if possible! Do not send your children here they will be traumatized! The Nursing staff, curses, berates, and threatens the children as well as making them drink water from their hands to take meds. Besides the absolutely cruel treatment by the nursing staff the rest of the staff with a few exceptions are inconsistent and hateful. Please do your research and think twice before you send your children here. They just want you or your insurances money and most have no interest in helping the clients to actually get better! You have been warned!!!

The love, knowledge, care, and support that I received from both my team members and all of the staff/faculty made MC a safe space for me during a very turbulent and uncertain time in my life. I can genuinely say that I am leaving MC a different person more equipped to continue my fight against my eating disorder, and I would recommend the facility to anyone who may be struggling

Negative experience: Horrible, horrible place to send your loved one. They absolutely do not care about the wellbeing of their patients and are just looking for a check. This facility very suddenly discharged my sister and left her to fend for herself. They knew she had no one to pick her up and no where to go and they couldn’t care less. UNCARING AND DISGRACEFUL.

Fantastic experience: magnolia creek saved my life. when i was admitted, i was very deep in my eating disorder. the staff felt like my second family and were incredibly supportive from admission to discharge. my mindset changed for the better, and i was able to recognize the beauty of life outside of my eating disorder. i would recommend this place to ANYONE struggling with an eating disorder/eating disorder behaviors. through fully trusting your treatment team and being open and honest about your struggles, healing is one hundred percent possible at magnolia creek. the friends you meet and the relationships you make in treatment will forever hold a special place in your heart.

Fantastic experience: Magnolia creek saved me. i am so thankful for all of the amazing staff who were very supportive, and quick to act on issues. i was admitted to the adolescent program in april and recently discharged. i am very thankful for all that i learned, what i did, and the friends i made. i went through a lot here, but with the help of amazing kind staff i was able to make it through it and come out a whole new person. recovery is an ongoing process, but i’m thankful for magnolia creek for helping me kick off my journey in recovery.

Fantastic experience: Magnolia Creek not only saved my life but changed it forever. I have suffered with an eating disorder since I was 12 years old and I had lost hope of ever reaching true recovery. Other treatment centers tried to "cure me" by treating the eating disorder as the problem. MC taught me that the eating disorder was a symptom and they taught me how to live my life without being unhealthy. MC gave me hope and taught me to be the hero of my own story. I would recommend Magnolia to anyone and everyone that struggles with an eating disorder. Recovery IS possible for everyone who wants it.

Fantastic experience: My experience at Magnolia Creek was unlike any other treatment center I've been to. It was so healing and overall incredible. Attempt after attempt in treatment had left me feeling hopeless and helpless. I felt welcomed and safe upon arriving. Not only were my clinicians (primary therapist, family therapist, and dietician) extremely helpful and supportive but all other clinicians were supportive as well. I was shown genuine compassion and care by all staff, RCS, and clinicians. The RCS are incredible and listen to what you have to say and help in some of the tougher moments of treatment at anytime of day. The community of clients were all very welcoming and helped put my anxieties about being in the house at ease. I enjoyed my peers’ support and being on the beautiful campus with them. Rachel and Mary Elaine, my clinicians, we’re exactly what I needed in a team. They pushed me in ways I didn’t know I needed, and helped me to realize more about myself and my recovery journey. Overall Magnolia creek helped me to reach a new place in my recover and helped me to heal more than I had ever thought possible. I was given a multitude of skills and resources to help me get even further in the recovery process. I left Magnolia Creek with hope and optimism for recovery for the first time in all of my experiences in treatment. For that I am eternally grateful. They truly saved my life.

The caregivers/family virtual support group was very beneficial to me as my family and I navigate this terrible disease. Even after discharge, knowing that support is available is so helpful.

Fantastic experience: I’m forever grateful for my time at Magnolia Creek. I was really hesitant to go back to treatment and didn’t have a lot of hope that Magnolia Creek would help. I was so wrong and I’m so glad I was. From the moment I arrived, I was met with so much love and support. Not only did I have the support of my own primary therapist, family therapist, and dietitian, but I had the support of all the other clinicians, RCSs, and staff members. I formed countless meaningful, life-long relationships that helped my recovery so much. I feel like I was able to finally find the missing piece of my recovery during my few months at Magnolia Creek. I am so grateful that I chose Magnolia Creek for residential treatment. I would recommend MC to anyone struggling with an eating disorder:)

Fantastic experience: Our involvement with Magnolia Creek was a Godsend and stood out to be an incredible healing experience for a time that was so difficult when our daughter was struggling with an eating disorder. The staff and therapists from the very beginning and all through the process were very supportive, encouraging , and kind to us. Leaving our daughter there to go through the most difficult time of her life was the hardest thing for us to do, but we knew she was in good hands from the very beginning. The environment gave our daughter a safe place to heal and restore, and we are forever grateful and thank God for Magnolia Creek. It has changed all of our lives. I would highly recommend Magnolia Creek.

Fantastic experience: As a family member of a loved one that received care at Magnolia Creek, I'm so thankful. My loved one received excellent care & they were geared towards helping family cope with the struggles of seeing a loved one deal with ED. Weekly family sessions were very beneficial for us in learning new ways to communicate effectively to work toward lasting recovery. Weekly zoom meetings for families of past & present Magnolia Creek clients were also helpful. Having the sense of community allows us to encourage & learn from others going through similar situations. The staff was friendly, helpful & well educated in dealing with eating disorders & mental health. I highly recommend Magnolia Creek!

Fantastic experience: I am so thankful for Magnolia Creek. Before coming to treatment, I was so closed off to getting helped for my eating disorder. I didn’t want to admit I needed help, or at least this level of care, but Magnolia Creek completely exceeded my expectations! I was welcomed by the most caring staff, clinicians, and clients. I felt more loved and seen than I have in a long time. I was able to discover who I am and begin to find care and respect for myself. I was encouraged, challenged, and valued every single day. There was never a moment that I didn’t feel safe and supported here. I thank Magnolia Creek for giving me the hope that recovery is possible and that I am capable of continuing to push my eating disorder aside. I highly recommend coming to Magnolia Creek if you or a loved one is in need of support!!! This place has a really special place in my heart!

Negative experience: Probably the worst mistake we ever did was choose Magnolia Creek for my daughter. It’s really more of a place that follows along out of a textbook rather than experience. There is one person on staff that has experience in eating disorders and actually recoveries from it but she has zero interaction with the patients unless she is filling in for someone that is out. We were actually told she’s not allowed to speak about her recovery to the adolescents. The 1-2 days she actually got to speak with her had a much greater impact than the 4 months she there. A very nice staff but they follow along our of a book pretty much and absolutely no experience whatsoever. Whenever we did have a question it would take 2-3 days sometimes to receive a phone call or email back. Even getting a prescription filled took 2 WEEKS. Not kidding. Maybe a good place for follow up care after treatment elsewhere but made my daughter much worse than better.

Negative experience: my daughter got admitted for anorexia and stayed 6 weeks with 2 lbs increase only; the problems are: - don't have feeding tube to force feeding - don't have enough personnel to monitor and control motion activity ( she was exercising daily on patio) - small tiny old house with 8 rooms and 1 small living room - when I removed her from there, they called CPS to cause pressure

Fantastic experience: The staff at Magnolia Creek are so caring and supportive. The program provides counseling for the individual as well as family counseling. I met weekly with the dietician which was so helpful. The care provided is top notch.

Fantastic experience: I give 5 stars to my time at Magnolia Creek! My time spent here was incredibly challenging yet remarkably beautiful and truly humbling. I came in not knowing exactly how I’d begin the recovery process, but I knew deep down that I wanted to recover. Magnolia Creek helped me on my journey back to the truth of who God says I am. I’ve learned so much in my time here that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I’m forever grateful to the Lord for my amazing treatment team who met me where I was at, encouraged me, was patient with me, challenged me, and lovingly supported me every step of the way. I’m also thankful to my fellow clients, other clinicians, and RCS staff who were a joy to be around and still made me laugh on the hard days! The chickens are cute, too. :) This season of my life and these people will always hold a special place in my heart. Magnolia Creek was indeed such a Godsend to my life!

Fantastic experience: Without a doubt, I thank God for this treatment center. Magnolia Creek was there for me after a devastating medical crisis and turned what was a dire and bleak outlook into a life-changing journey to healing. I am forever grateful and owe my life to the professional, skilled medical team and experienced nurses who brought me back from a sudden illness to the best version of myself. The staff doctor and nurses saw the real person I was and nurtured that. When I came here, I feared the unknown, but from day one the level of care and compassion was unlike anything I had ever experienced. I found sanctity and peace of mind in a home like setting, far from feeling like a hospital/clinical but with immediate access to a talented medical team and intensive services if required. I often relied on the relationships with amazing women who like me, had a story to tell. I still have friendships from this experience. Their top-notch dietary/nutrition team creates doable individual meal plans and provide you the chance to cook in an industrial kitchen. I recall the head chef (then Chef Wendy) with such fondness, the happiness I felt while we created special courses for everyone. There were so many staff members that comforted me on tough days and made me feel safe. Looking back to my very first family style meal in the dining hall on the evening I arrived, I was so frightened and medically fragile. This warmth, like a family, made all the difference. I knew that I was protected, and loved by the Magnolia Creek family immediately. From caring therapists who affirmed and empowered me to the beautiful scenery all around the campus, the amount of calming therapeutic engagement was a much needed immersion in self- care and wellness. I carry many life lessons with me years after my inpatient stay. Magnolia Creek gave me back my life and offered me a fresh start. I highly recommend this facility for anyone who is struggling or needs a life reset.

Fantastic experience: My experience while at Magnolia Creek was so healing. After multiple attempts at treatment I was feeling hopeless and went in mainly to appease my people and prove it wouldn’t work. One of my biggest core beliefs is that I cannot be fully seen, known, and loved. That changed while I was there. I felt overwhelmed with love and support. I found my will to live. I went in seeing natures beauty around me but feeling so disconnected. Now I can both see natures beauty and feel a part of it. The therapist, dieticians, support staff, cooks, office staff, and nurses have brought more joy, understanding, encouragement (challenged me), and love to my life than I ever could have imagined. Words can’t express how grateful I am for Magnolia Creek it certainly feels like home. There is hope

Fantastic experience: Magnolia creek was an incredible place for me to heal. Leaving home to get the help you need is scary. Magnolia creek made me feel safe, supported, and made me feel I was truly enough. One of my favorite parts was getting to be outside. The staff were encouraging, friendly, and I felt they truly cared for me as a person. It’s still a journey but magnolia creek provided me with a community of people who are also in recovery and a plan to succeed at recovery and life✨

Fantastic experience: My time at Magnolia Creek was so healing. My treatment team met me where I was at, listened to me, encouraged me, cried with me, laughed with me, and challenged me. I truly felt like I was included as part of my team. My team was well-equipped to handle my GI and medical concerns. They helped me dig deep in my therapy to heal my heart. They helped me get back to eating normally... Both to fuel my body and to enjoy food. Although I really missed my loved ones and it was a hard process, I made many memories and wonderful friends. At my request, my treatment team included Jesus and faith in my sessions, which was truly healing. I am so thankful to God and my parents for the opportunity to come to Magnolia Creek. I am so thankful for the healing I have experienced at Magnolia Creek. I am thankful for the friends I have made and the connections I will keep through the alumni group. I look forward to a life of living recovered from the eating disorder and am excited for the lives I will get to touch in the future as a dietitian myself. Fantastic experience: I came here twice between 2020 and 2021. I want to start out by saying how much the staff cared. I became very close to the therapists and RCS’s- they frequently went out of their way to show consideration for what we were going through. Even with the other clients, it was really good for me to know that I wasn’t alone, and I made some lifelong friends. One of the other most beneficial things for me was learning the science behind our bodies, nutrition, and this disease. Not only did I get help with my eating disorder, but I received help with PTSD, depression, anxiety, family relationships, etc. There were a couple of things that I didn’t really care for, like cooking group, but I fully believe that the staff tried/tries to get us as prepared for the “real world” as possible.

Fantastic experience: Magnolia Creek is incredible. They absolutely saved my life. The center itself is a beautiful safe-haven surrounded by nature. The structure, therapy, and staff are altogether so healing. I have been to other treatment centers in Alabama, but none come close to MC and the recovery they gave me.

Fantastic experience: After struggling with an eating disorder for two years, thinking there was no life without, Magnolia Creek helped me battle more than just ED. When I was admitted, the staff were all so welcoming and supportive that I was able to adapt very quickly. The groups we did were very helpful in educating me during through my journey and varied from art, scientific, or therapeutic activities. Each client is given their own team (therapist, family therapist, and dietician). My entire team did so well to work together and create a treatment plan for me that I was able to understand. It was also a great pleasure to have met the other women there with me. We were all able to watch each other grow and see all the hard work that was being put in. I made some amazing close friends and still talk to them on a daily basis! The scenery of being by a lake and surrounded by trees was a big support for me while I was there and gave me a calm place to appreciate the world around me. Every morning I would go feed the fish, tell the geese hello, and just take in the fresh air! If you or someone you know is struggling with an eating disorder, I would HIGHLY RECCOMMEND Magnolia Creek.

Fantastic experience: I have been to Magnolia Creek twice in 2022. This was my third treatment center, and for me the experience here was very different from my other experiences, in the best way possible. I was able to really work on my trauma and other underlying issues driving the eating disorder both with my individual treatment team and in groups, and I felt incredibly supported by both the RCSs and nurses on the day to day needs. I learned a lot and was really challenged to push myself outside of my comfort zone and felt like needing to come back a second time, that it would be a safe place to come back to, and I would just in generally highly recommend Magnolia Creek to any of my friends or family needing treatment, and if I ever needed help in the future in a higher level of care, I would return as well.

Fantastic experience: magnolia creek is an absolutely amazing facility, it truly saved my life. while being at magnolia creek we did group therapy sessions, individual sessions with a individual therapist, a family therapist and dietician. my primary therapist helped me reprocess trauma and helped me see I am in control of my life and my family therapist helped me explain my eating disorder and the signs to my family and boyfriend. my dietician helped me make peace with food and even helped me cook new things in the kitchen. im not sure i could have overcome my eating disorder without this facility.

Fantastic experience: Magnolia Creek without a doubt saved my life. I cannot say enough great things about this treatment center and their approach to helping women achieve recovery. I had the most incredible treatment team that taught me so much about myself and the “why” behind my eating disorder, they equipped me with the tools I needed to continue recovery on my own as well, and they showed genuine care and compassion towards me even on my toughest days. The RCS staff and nurses were so kind and became like family while I was there, I made lifelong friends within the community who I still talk to today, and the location was absolutely beautiful with a real homelike feeling to it. By the time I discharged from Magnolia Creek, I truly gained my personality back that I had lost within the eating disorder and I owe it all to this treatment center and the staff!

Fantastic experience: Magnolia Creek Residential Eating Disorder Facility has an amazing and truly caring staff. They worked with our family and teenage daughter during the five weeks she went thru treatment. She attended individual therapy, group classes, family therapy, she learned how to properly prepare balance meals, her dietician taught her about the importance of nutrition, the medical staff took care of medical concerns and medication if needed, and much more. Before entering the program she was in denial about struggling with an eating disorder and at completion of the program she was in control and fully aware of her struggles. She is confident and equipped to live a healthy meaningful life and we are truly grateful to have found Magnolia Creek. The hardest part about completing the program was how much she missed the staff. Thank you for loving our daughter.

Fantastic experience: Going to Magnolia Creek was one of the most significant, impactful experiences of my life. Truly. First off, the facility and sprawling grounds are a breathtaking environment to cultivate true recovery. It was a true blessing to wake up every morning and look out onto the lake and the trees and feel at peace. But more importantly, the staff here are incredible. The RCS's (the techs who work closely on the floor with clients) are incredible. Every single person I worked with was compassionate, kind, empowering, and dedicated. I had so many powerful conversations during my darkest moments that I will take with me forever. And the nursing staff are second to none. Everyone became my family, and I cannot emphasize enough how much they guided me through the most challenging times in my life. Magnolia Creek's clinical staff blew me away. I have had experiences all over the country at all different levels of care, and my team here was the most passionate, knowledgeable, and life-affirming I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I was viewed as a whole person, and experienced a tailored treatment approach that accounted for my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well being and growth. I always felt valued and heard. I was given the true gift of working with the nutrition director as my dietitian. I would not be anywhere near the place I am without her. She saved my life. Above and beyond does not even begin to cover a fraction of the support I received from her. I have never learned more about nutrition, myself, and my recovery from ANYONE. I am tearing up writing this, that is how powerful working with her was for me. For anyone finding themselves in the tremendously challenging place of seeking treatment for their eating disorder, I could not recommend Magnolia Creek enough. It will be the most difficult journey, but at Magnolia Creek, it is a journey one will not take alone, but rather with a true family. You deserve life, and Magnolia Creek will give that to you.

Fantastic experience: Magnolia Creek changed my life. My team cared deeply in listening to me, working with me as an individual, and making sure I had the support I needed to recover properly. The techs that are with you all day become like family, the nurses are phenomenal and want to see you succeed. To be honest, they saved my life in the darkest time of my life and I will forever be grateful. Magnolia Creek is defense and peaceful, the perfect place to focus on yourself and your recovery. Fantastic experience: I am grateful and thankful for my recovery journey at Magnolia Creek in residential and at PHP. There is a very caring and supportive atmosphere. I will now be heading into IOP to do the next step down back at home and I leave for that next step knowing that I have been in good hands during my stay at the Creek! My Treatment Team who I really appreciate helped me to challenge my thoughts and urges, reframe , set boundaries, learn and grow in coping skills, get to know my cognitive distortions and practice and believe positive affirmations for when those arrive, familiarize myself with my ED cycle and know exactly what I’m fighting against with ED and when it happens, CBT, DBT, body image and so much more! I’m also grateful for the RCS’s who were so great and helpful in recovery as well as the nurses who helped out in so many ways. Recovery isn’t linear but it’s worth it because I’m worth it and Its possible and I believe one day I can and will overcome and defeat ED for good. Thank you Magnolia Creek!

Fantastic experience: I went here twice. It became home to me. I had the absolute best team to assist me with anything I needed, even when we weren’t scheduled to meet I knew I could get in touch with them right away. This facility made me feel so welcome for the 3 months I stayed each time and gave me so much help/knowledge on not only my eating disorder itself, but my body image struggles, addiction, anxiety, ptsd, the list goes on. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Negative experience: It has taken me a long time to get to a place where I felt I could write this review. I stayed at Magnolia Creek for a little over two weeks in December 2021. When I talked to the care coordinators over the phone prior to admission, I was assured that staff would be able to handle my symptoms of PTSD, severe anxiety, panic attacks and several other diagnoses I dont care to share here. When I arrived to this facility, it became apparent early on that this was not the case at all. The nurses seemed constantly annoyed and angry at me if I had an issue, the staff members that were with us "24/7" were not equipped to deal with any mental health issues whatsoever. Most had zero idea what to even do for a panic attack. There were also numerous occasions during my brief stay where understaffing lead to me being unable to find a staff member or get proper care because the nurse was not on site or the direct care staff was having to monitor someone in their shower or taking someone out to smoke. Furthermore, I got sick while I was here. I dont know if it was undercooked food, contaminated water, or something else, but it definitely occurred while I was at this facility. Severe nausea, stomach cramps, diarrhea, and I even vomitted a few times. Nursing staff continuously ignored me when I tried to talk to them about it; they kept telling me it was either anxiety related or due to me eating new foods and changing my eating habits. Well, after suffering for ten days with these symptoms and constantly getting told they wouldnt unlock the bathroom for me during a meal or getting in trouble for having to bolt out of the dining room due to needing the bathroom or dry heaving at the table, my mom finally came to pick me up. She got me into a gastroenterologist and he was able to diagnose that I had a pretty bad infection and I had to be put on a very strong coarse of antibiotics. I would also like to share that during my stay, I had to be driven offsite for something and the nurse that drove me spent the entire drive there talking on her cellphone while driving the van. Not bluetooth; she had her phone held to her ear talking the whole drive. And if you need any other reasons to avoid this place at all cost, the groups are an absolute joke. A majority of the "groups" were arts and crafts (and poorly planned ones at that), and when we did talk about actual mental health related topics, we were given print outs from TEEN workbooks on the topics. I am an adult that has been struggling with mental illness all my life. A five minute google search could have given me more in depth and substantial information than the worksheets provided by the therapists at this place. I saw the psychiatrist in person one time. The other times were done via zoom chats IN THE NURSES STATION. Zero privacy during the appointments, and the nurses would continue to talk about other patients while I was in the room using their computer. Im pretty sure that is unethical to say the least, and possibly breaking confidentiality laws. Oh, and you're not allowed to talk about the food or your feelings or experiences surrounding specific foods or meals. You're expected to wait until your one session a week wirh your therapist and THEN talk about everything that came up for you all week. In a one hour session. I have NEVER been to a treatment center for EATING DISORDERS where they didnt have specific groups or after-meal open discussions to talk candidly about what came up for the individual during meals/snacks or with difficult foods. I am currently trying to work through some of the emotional damage this place further caused me. It was not easy to write this, but I felt it an important step in putting this place behind me, and I wanted to warn others.
