Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Health Horizons for 20 years, most recently seeing Dr. North. Dr. North took an inordinate of time during my intake to understand my history and current issues and created a plan to address the severe pain that I was experiencing. He is kind, considerate and understanding and takes the time to explain what might be causing my issues. I was/am dedicated to my appointments and understand that this is a process and not a quick fix. I have had great success in addressing my primary pain issue which was quite debilitating, and we are now working on other pain points. The entire staff at Health Horizons are wonderful!

Negative experience: My experience here was not the best. I felt that Dr. North was not warm or inviting. He seemed to not care too much about my recovery but more focused on getting me in and out so that they could claim more money through my insurance. What I needed and what my schedule allowed for, I guess my recovery didn’t fit with how they wanted to be paid so I was told bluntly that I should not be coming in if I can’t come in enough. Seems as though my insurance policy was more important than helping me recover from my accident.

Coming to health horizons as a patient has changed the trajectory of my life. I first started going when I needed care for my body and checked out the nutritional department. I’ve gotten to know Dr. Palembini over the years and she has become what feels like family. I was slightly skeptical of the muscle response testing but it works! My body since has been transformed because of it and I can now enjoy life to the fullest. I didn’t realize how much of an impact Dr.P has made on my life until years later. because of the impact my energy is sustained, I’m fully stable when sickness comes around And I can be fully present with my son because I’m not battling fatigue and being sick often. She has inspired me even years later to run after what it looks like for our bodies to be healthy and whole, fully capable of handling anything. To live life the way we’re intended to because of health and wellness. Not only did this care affect me personally but everyone around me has benefited because of it.. They have helped me when other doctors could not and not only that, muscle test me for the specific supplement/herb and the right amount! Fantastic experience: Great folks and top notch care. Dr. Roth is the only Chiropractor in the region that is capable of doing an atlas orthogonal adjustment. She has the training and specialty equipment needed. I personally witnessed by daughter's neck go from almost straight (not good) to the proper natural curve with just one treatment. Proof was in the before and after x-rays. My right leg was chronically shorter than my left for years and after receiving a good deal chiropractic care elsewhere. A single atlas adjustment corrected that in under an hour. Truly amazing. They offer exceptional therapeutic massages and Karli has helped my family a great deal.

I have seen many chiropractors in my adult life some that are scammers but this one is the real deal. Becky is also a hard find as she is one of very few people that know how to give a great Graston massage. This place will set you straight.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Greer is simply amazing! He saw my dad today, who is a brand-new patient to this practice. My dad is 84 and has been experiencing pretty debilitating back pain for the past three weeks. As a current patient of this practice (I see Dr. North, who is also terrific) I knew that the first appointment is usually just one for discussion and x-rays. But, because Dr. Greer truly cares about his patients, he spent two hours with my dad, listening to him, hearing his concerns, and immediately starting his chiropractic care. I can guarantee you won’t find this kind of atmosphere of caring at many other places. I feel confident that Dr. Greer will be a huge help to my dad. I also should point out that, prior to seeing Dr. North, I was not, personally, a huge believer in chiropractic care. I am now. Everyone in this office knows your name and they truly care about you as a person. This is a great place and I recommend that everyone give it a try, even if you aren’t a believer, you will be.

Positive experience: I had a great experience. I just came in to have an X-ray done with my Chiro who I see elsewhere. But my interactions with the office staff were great and kind. The office is right on a bus line (P78) which was a huge plus for those of us who don’t drive. No bike racks outside, unfortunately.

Fantastic experience: I have been to around 10 chiropractors throughout my life, and Dr. Roth is without a doubt the absolute best!! I feel better than I ever have and know the team at Health Horizons has a huge part in that!!! I’ll be honest, when I first went to see Dr. Roth I was a little skeptical because her chiropractic approach was much different than anything I had experienced. There was no violent neck or back cracking, which seemed odd to me… but I actually ended up really liking because I didn’t need to worry about the possibility of my neck breaking at the chiropractor anymore haha. But more than that I was absolutely blown away that what Dr. Roth was doing was actually working… not just cracking. I used to have consistent head, hip, knee, and lower back pain, and I no longer do!! The atlas adjustment she performed was truly transformative!!! Fantastic experience: Wanted to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Roth and her staff for the remarkable job they did to get my neck back in shape. After almost a year of suffering with neck pain, I finally found relief. With Dr. Roth’s skills along with state of the art technology, I am no longer waking up in pain. I started out with an orthopedic surgeon, then physical therapy, and after experiencing no relief whatsoever decided to give Health Horizons a try. Truly one of the best decisions I’ve made. For those of you reading these reviews, you’re probably just like me when I started reading reviews. I was looking for relief, I was looking for someone I could trust, someone who was dedicated and somebody that could help me. I found all those with Health horizons. If you are having Atlas pain or any type of pain this is the place you want to be. Thank you Dr. Roth and staff for everything you do. If there was one negative thing, it would be that I’m going to be seeing less of them because I feel so much better.

Negative experience: While I rarely write reviews, my experience at this business was negative enough to warrant a first. I attended two introductory sessions that were truly terrible and led me to request a refund of my $290. Without going into too much detail, I left the sessions feeling both uncomfortable and like I had been duped into receiving a laughably fake "adjustment" (which confusingly consisted of the doctor lightly tapping me on my back for a combined minute or two). I called after my second session to voice my concerns and cancel my scheduled appointments. The receptionist, while cheerful, didn't seem surprised or to care. When I asked one of the doctors for a refund, I received a letter stating they would only provide a partial refund in exchange for my signing an attached general release--aka they would only give me some of my money back if I legally agreed not to sue them or say/write anything bad about them (like in a Google review). So, if you're wondering why this place has all 5 star reviews, consider that they are making at least some patients sign documents legally preventing them from leaving negative reviews. Is that the kind of place from which you want to receive (questionable) medical care? I decided it was worth skipping a $190 refund to voice my experience honestly. There are plenty of good chiropractors in Pgh. I would strongly encourage you to go elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I'm 24 weeks pregnant and began seeing Dr. Roth at the beginning of my 2nd trimester after I started having severe hip pain (turned out to be sciatica/piraformis syndrome). Within 1-2 weeks I had such relief it was unbelievable. There were times with my pain where I couldn't walk or get up/sit down unassisted. It was awful, debilitating pain I'd never felt before. I've since had flare ups of the pain but, again, with Dr. Roth's treatment the relief returned. This is my first child so I was weary to reach out for help thinking the pain would just pass but I'm so glad I starting seeing Dr. Roth. She's so knowledgeable and has taught me so much. She's also incredibly thoughtful, even going so far as to text me between visits to see how I'm doing. I highly recommend her and the rest of the team (all so kind!) at Health Horizons.

Fantastic experience: Health Horizons is an amazing practice. They've managed to create a warm environment without sacrificing any of the knowledge and expertise it takes to gain their patients' trust. I have a medical condition called Chiari malformation that makes certain types of chiropractic extremely unsafe for me. Dr. Roth has made it a point to take a specialized approach to keep me safe. She marries caution and confidence in a way that puts me completely at ease. The Health Horizons staff treats every person as an individual rather than taking a "one size fits all" generalized approach, giving me the utmost comfort in putting myself in their hands and trusting the treatment they give me. I had a specific issue at one point that, if I hadn't mentioned it to Dr. Roth, I wouldn't have known what was going on in my body at all. She recommended seeing Dr. Palombini for a nutrition consult, and I'm so thankful for that. Something major I've learned about Dr. Roth and Dr. Palombini is that they won't give up as long as I don't, and that means so much. I've been to many different doctors (holistic and medical approaches), and I've never seen such determination and desire to see people well as I have at Health Horizons. Last but certainly not least, I need to shine a light on the rest of the staff. Every person I come in contact with from walking in the door to being in the room, checking out, and scheduling another appointment, is absolutely wonderful. Every staff member is warm, kind, and easy to talk to. They don't treat me like just another name on the schedule. They take an interest in me, in what's going on in my life, and in my health. Each one of them is a gem. Health Horizons is a one-of-a-kind practice, and I whole-heartedly recommend scheduling an appointment TODAY.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Palombini is my nutritionist as well as my chiropractor. She and the staff of Health Horizons have done wonders for me. They remember your name and are genuinely kind when you are there for a visit. I came to them to get help for the many issues I was having with my health due to my time overseas with the military. After a few months with them I felt amazing. And even though I have moved far from their office, I still am making my way to them regularly for my appointments.

Fantastic experience: I have been seen at Health Horizons on and off (school or jobs outside of Pittsburgh) for almost 20 years. I always feel better when I go regularly to appointments. The office staff is attentive, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They are able to help navigate insurance, reimbursements, and scheduling. I am always able to coordinate a visit that works into my schedule. I have seen Drs. Roth and Greer who are very thorough and experienced. With my monthly maintenance visits, this is the best I have felt consistently in years. They do have a large variety of supplements and products but offer but do not "push" them. If you have any aches/pains during pregnancy, Dr. Roth was the absolute best. I do not think I would have made it through my pregnancy without her! If you are looking for a comprehensive chiropractors office this is definitely the place to go!

Fantastic experience: It took me four tries to find a legit chiropractor in the Pittsburgh area and Health Horizons is it. They start with a thorough exam to diagnose the root cause of your pain and dysfunction, and they don't force the adjustments/manipulations but use a tool to adjust. This is really important for people like me whose issues are greatly affected by muscle tension. I have seen Dr Greer and Dr Roth here and both have been awesome.

Fantastic experience: Wow I have been a patient for 9yrs. My grandsons go monthly on child wellness day or as needed too! Just this week Friday, mar 15, 2019. My hands started to hurt. My adjustments help me so much and Christine gave me fabulous massage on my upper body and hands. I learn scretches to help me as well. My forefingers knuckles were swollen. My hands are back to normal. Yay! Last summer all the doctors jumped in to help with adjustments, massage supplements to help my body recover from a car accident. I had to be seen 3 times a week at first. I was on good road feeling good. A few months later a fall down 5 steps. Thankfully no broken bones. I was off work a week. I'm so blessed to have them in my life! The girls are great to fit me in when emergency arises!

Fantastic experience: I have had awesome experiences anytime I have gone to Health Horizons. I went to them years ago after pulling my neck out and they were very helpful in getting me back to normal again. Most recently I pulled my lower back out to the point where I could barely walk some days. They are amazing at what they do with their adjustments. After being adjusted over a period of two months I am finally back to normal. Early on I would be laying face down on the table and the doctor asked me to lift my right leg which I could barely do and then lift my left leg which was much easier, she would give me an adjustment and asked me to lift my right leg again and just like that I was able to lift my right leg after the small adjustments she made. They do not physically crack you at their office, instead they use an activator tool which basically pushes the muscle back into the correct position. In my opinion this is a much safer way to go about adjusting individuals especially after an injury. I have gone to other chiropractors in the past and I always felt like they were just going through the motions of cracking different areas of my body, rather than focusing on the specific issue as well as incorporating my entire well being. Dr. Roth at health horizons really listens to everything you have to say and takes your entire well being into consideration. She is very intuitive to your ailments. Some days I have gone in and laid on the table without even telling her where my issues were for the day and she naturally goes right to them. All of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful as well as the other doctors. You truly feel welcome as soon as you walk through the doors.

Here are a few of my personal success stories: Solving a reflux issue, with one simple adjustment - and no medication necessary - after being on reflux medication that wasn’t working. Successful endometriosis treatment - with no hormones or hysterectomy required - after having been on hormone medication for years. Virtually eliminating daily pain and inflammation throughout my body. By educating me on my diet - recommending certain changes to it - and recommending certain supplements, the symptoms are nearly gone. Allergies: Identifying the culprits and helping to remedy them. I’ve had a lifetime of sinus issues, and they have provided me with supplements to gently alleviate sinus pain and pressure - with no side affects. My husband and children are also regular patients. As a child, my son would get a terrible cough. I finally took him to Health Horizons to be evaluated and found out it was a virus causing his symptoms. They gave him an anti-viral supplement that eliminated the coughing in 3 days. We went from WEEKS of coughing to 3 days. No kidding. So anytime I hear the tiniest glimpse of a cough, I give him the supplement and it never comes to fruition. It works for the rest of the family as well! Lastly, I find the doctors to be very open minded; it seems clear to me, that they desire to find the best solution(s) for each person. Health Horizons is a wonderful place that helps my whole family be the healthiest we can!

Fantastic experience: I have been treating here with chiropractic after an auto accident. It is a very busy office, yet rarely had to wait more than a few minutes to get seen at my scheduled appointment. The staff is very friendly and take great effort to know who you are when you walk in. I've seen mainly Dr. Lacy Smiesko and Dr. Katherine Palombini and have been very happy with the results. Their hours are fantastic with their evening and weekend hours to assist those that work a 9-5p job. Dr. Smiesko is their newest chiropractor and a real sweetheart of a person besides being very knowledgeable in her field. If you are under the age of 35, you may particularly enjoy her as your clinician, although all the staff are great. A shout out also to "Becca" the massage therapist. She is amazing! The busy office is a testament to others also appreciating the high quality of services provided here.

Fantastic experience: I have been migraine free since my FIRST visit over ten years ago! I put off making the call to Health Horizons until I saw incredible results with my twin sister. Ever since then, I have had multiple healing experiences for myself and have witnessed it with my family, everything from becoming pain free to going through "detox" and seeing rashes disappear within days. My third baby was breech while in utero and Dr. Roth did one, quick adjustment and he turned ( I felt him turn and it wasn't painful at all but I knew what was happening!) Fantastic experience: Health Horizons is all in one healing center. Before I found Health Horizons I was at the chiropractor 3 times a week with constant pain and always in an acute state. Peggy Schorsch knew I was searching for a new chiropractor and one day she called to advise they were accepting my insurance. That phone call changed my life. Not only has Dr. Roth helped me with my neck injury and headaches. She has also helped me manage my low back pain and keep me symptom free. I was diagnosed with frozen shoulder over a year ago – my shoulder doctor recommended intense therapy, oxycontin to deal with the pain and possible surgery. Dr. Roth recommended Becca Heyns, Health Horizons massage therapist; within 1 visit I was able to move my shoulder. After 3 visits I was healed. I also strongly recommend Dr. Palombini. Dr Palombini totally changed my life. I developed an extreme allergy to shrimp –where I couldn’t even walk into a restaurant that was cooking shrimp without going into an anaphylactic attack. During my initial visit with Dr. Palombini she determined that shrimp was poison to my system, but that she could cure it. After a few visits she cleared my body of the allergy and I no longer suffer the anaphylactic attacks. During my treatments with Dr. Palombini she recommended I visit Andrea the nutritionist. She helped me lose 18 pounds and feel a lot better physically. My daughter is now seeing Dr. Roth she has helped with concussion headaches, and hormonal problems.
