Dr. Jawad A. Shah, MD

Negative experience: Dr Shah bought a hospital in Warren, Ohio and closed it with no notice and did not give employees their last paycheck and money owed. Six hundred and some people and their families and the surrounding county screwed over.

Fantastic experience: I have been with Insight Pain Management for almost 8 years. I have the best hands down care by them. I have had numerous of back and neck surgeries. When I am very comfortable with Drs I will continue to go to them. If your in a lot of pain and have a grandbaby I wanna watch grow up and explore the future with. And these guys do their best to help you live life to the fullest. Dr Shah you have a remarkable team in Flint along with a great team in Warren at the hospital keep up the amazing work.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Shah, did both of my back surgeries and a wonderful job he did!! Very, very good bedside manner and a truly caring person he is. His staff are great and courteous. I highly recommend this place. Dr. Gemayel, did my total knee replacement and couldn't ask for a better dr or surgeon. I'm still in PT for this, as it was very recent. I go to pt at Insight and wow!! The staff are amazing, caring, and most sincere therapists to work with you. Highly recommend the Dr's at Insight and their physical therapy center.

Owe him my life and consider him the most prominent neurologist in practice and be thankful for his skills if his services are needed because there is no one better for you

Negative experience: He this extremely thorough! I've been to other doctors and he found what they didn't. He has my personal health and well being in mind and not just a "hurry and get them out of here" attitude. Plus he and his staff are very respectful which is extremely important to me personally. I won't go anywhere else. 5 Stars! ***UPDATE*** 1 Yr & 4 months later... I wish I would have gone somewhere else! I had my back surgery 4 months ago and the incision STILL has not healed. The aftercare from Dr. Shah and his office leave EVERYTHING to be desired. Very incompetent!!! I was told at 2 1/2wk check-up that I didn't need the "tape stitches" anymore. Nor did I need Neosporin or bandages of any kind. Just antibacterial soap & water. 3 wks later incision started to drain. I wasn't asked to come in. Just send photos and antibiotics were prescribed only as precaution (not really needed he said). 1 1/2wk later it drained a lot! Again no appt just photos and another 2wk antibiotics but still no infection. But prescribed Polysporin "as needed". I saw my family Dr 1 week later and she said it was infected and said to keep on with the bandages & Polysporin. At 3 month check-up (yes I wasn't seen since 2wk appt) Dr. Shah said it wasn't healing as fast enough (inside & out) but no antibiotics were prescribed and still insisted no infection but "now" to keep it covered and wanted a home nurse to "now" show us how to change bandages. Went to my family Dr. who said it still was infected & gave me antibiotics plus a shot of antibiotics. 1 month later the incision is almost healed. Hmm, go figure.

Fantastic experience: After I got injured, I went to Insight. I worked with the pain specialist, chiropractor care and then Dr. Shah. It was decided I needed surgery and he was the first to hear me out and listen to what I was going through at the time. October 30th I was scheduled for surgery. My 1 hour procedure turned into 3. I had more damage done then what was expected. I’ve been recovering for 3 months and I am now not only pain free but my symptoms are gone. I get to go back to work on Monday. Thank you to everyone at insight for helping me especially Dr. Shah! I couldn’t have asked for a better care team!

Fantastic experience: I first met Dr. Shah when he moved to the area & started doing surgery at the hospital I worked at. After seeing him perform surgery, his skill & the way he cared for & treated his patients I would never see any other local neurosurgeon. He always listens & never tries to rush me out of the office. I have complete confidence in him. ** I'm updating to add Dr. Shah does surgery as a last resort. What surgeon does that? A good & ethical one. I have referred many friends & any family member in need of a neuro surgeon. Over a decade & I still think he is great.

They listened and truly helped my situation by just slowing down and I feel they put the "patient", me first above just a production line feel that is creeping into our healthcare system. Negative experience: DO NOT go here if you have any kind of state aid and NEED surgery, they won't schedule you bc your insurance doesn't pay enough even if you really need surgery.. after waiting 2months for a surgical date they said they'd give me (they do take the ins, so does the facility), they said no bc they can't make enough money off of me and I need this surgery to live my life and help take my pain away, and take malfunctioning hardware out of my body at 30yo, but these heartless people could careless. I've had nothing but problems since I stepped foot in their facility and it hasn't stopped yet.... None of their staff listen to anything you have to say when it pertains to your case and how you need to proceed; not the dr, not the scheduler, and god forbid any of the staff actually know they have a manager on staff or know how to contact them or even forward any problems to that person so that unhappy patients can potentially be helped before it's too late..

If something comes up or he’s going to be out of town when you have an appointment he will come in on Saturday to take care of you. The staff are extremely friendly, professional and willing to do the extra to make your visit as best as it can be.

He did surgery on my lower back and shaved off parts of my herniated discs. Within 3 weeks I was back to feeling like myself again after nine months of pure agony. Fantastic experience: Before and after surgery, Dr. Shah is one of the most caring people and THE most caring Dr. I've ever known. It's hard to believe that a surgeon was holding out for surgery as the "Last Resort" but he knew what was best for my exact condition. Although he is the only neurosurgeon who has operated on me, he is definitely the only one I would recommend. At the beginning of my experience with Dr. Shah, I told him my expectations was to exit his care pain free & drug free, Dr. Shah made it a reality. Fantastic experience: I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2016. I had met with two surgeons in Chicago, IL and neither would perform surgery. They claimed, it would be too much of a risk because, the tumor was located on my optic nerve. A family member, who worked in the community of Flint, Mi was aware of Dr. Shah and recommended me to get a third opinion. I met with Dr. Shah, he was kind, he listened, he answered many questions and concerns I had. I insistently felt confident, I found the right surgeon. Surgery was a success, I recovered quickly and was out of the hospital in less than a week. Most of the tumor was removed and I only had minimal radiation and chemotherapy. Its been two years, I am still following up with Dr. Shah every 6 months and my MRI's are CLEAR! If you are unsure about what your next step for treatment, surgery or questions you need to be answered in an honest and respectable way, you can count on Dr. Shah's advice and feel confident you are getting the right care from an excellent doctor and surgeon!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Shah performed back surgery on my husband recently and we were both extremely nervous about the procedure. Dr. Shah is wonderful and took time to answer any questions that we had and explained what he was going to do to repair the damage. Nina has been a Godsend throughout this entire process. She kept in constant contact with us after his surgery & subsequent discharge home, made sure any questions or concerns we had were relayed to Dr. Shah (who went on vacation and still made sure to answer quickly every single time!), and just put our minds at ease. She is awesome! Dr. Shah and his staff are very cognizant of the fact that I am working while also taking care for my husband and offered to take him home after appointments in order for me not to miss too much work. Although I stayed for his appointments, this thoughtfulness is appreciated more than they know! Dr. Shah and his staff truly go above and beyond, not only for their patients, but for their caregivers too.

Fantastic experience: I personally would recommend that any one who possibly needs Neuro surgery to contact Dr. Shaw. I had a C-5 disc replacement with no fusion needed. I also have bad arthritis in lower back and he rerecommend no surgery because it will only agrivate it making it more painful in the future. He is an extremely caring of his patience as he also performed successful surgery on my wife's back a few years ago. 3 weeks after surgery and I am free of headache's and some other pain caused from the bad disc in my neck. Also at the INN they have MRI imaging, 3 different pain management Dr.'s and 3 different neuro surgeons. For my lower back they blazed my nerve endings, this has helped at least 80% since the injection's. This has worked great for me and my pain.This place is outstanding and that's all I got to say about that.

Fantastic experience: Dr Shah and his staff are amazing, I first meet him when he offered to do a nessacry brain surgery on my 26 year old uninsured nice. He pull the strings and uses connections to get all of the hospital staff and surgical staff to donate their services. without his intervention she very well may have died, or at very least had a very poor quality of life, thanks to him and his initiative to do what is right by her she is an active healthy mother 2 at the age of 34. I have since seeing dr. Shah personally for lower back problems. He was able to get me back to work and healthy, and so unfortunately I had another injury requiring a spinal fusion. His knowledge and understanding of the inner workings of the injuries have been amazing, and his personal relationship with me has been what I have appreciated the most. He knows me by name and knows my case without having to look at a computer or a chart. He takes the time to get to know you and considers you his patient, not just a patient.

Negative experience: The place was beautiful. Was treated poorly. Pain was out of control despite medical intervention. Was told by Dr Shah to"just go try medical marijania" . Was not even given an exam. If you are having serious back pain and have tried everything please do not mess around with anyone in flint. WENT TO HENRY FORD AND HAD SURGERY. My pain is now improving with therapy.

Negative experience: After waiting 5 hours in pre-op, while an anesthesiologist was wheeling him to the OR, Dr. Shah cancelled my dad's surgery....stating it was too late and he had other things to do! Oh did I mention he didn't even have enough respect for my Dad to tell him himself, he had a resident do it

It was successful I owe the man my life. He treats my wife and I like we're relevant not just another paycheck.ive seen him for seven years now. Negative experience: Wife was there for a back injury from a slip and fall on ice. The only help they would give her was to use marijuina. Did not even examine her or ask her about her pain or what was going on. Would NOT recomond!!!!!
