Fantastic experience: Dr Lara's Palm Harbor location, is the only place I ever go to do the weight loss program. They do know what they are doing... before I started the program I had lost 10 lbs.. but now I am down a total of 50 lbs and it's been about 8 months. Stick to it, follow it.... it is SUCCESSFUL. I went from 220's... and I'm down to 159 and I am still going.

Fantastic experience: I have tried many weight loss programs and I did not have success. Dr. Lara's program offers so much more than nutrition. It offers nutrition, supplements and much more. I was feeling tired, loss of concentration, gut issues and was sleeping around a couple of hours a night. Fantastic experience: I have been doing the BHRT program with Cesar Lara for almost 7 years now and it has really helped me with preventing hair loss, dry skin, belly fat and all the things that come with aging. As we get older our bodies change and doesn't produce essential nutrients that are required to keep us looking and feeling good. So it is important to understand that the body needs some help with replenishing it. Dr Lara's office has more knowledge about hormone replacement than anyone in the Tampa Bay area. If you are feeling tired all the time and can't seem to get rid of the gut even though you are eating a healthy diet and exercising then this program may be the perfect answer for you.

Fantastic experience: After a long cancer journey that involved twenty sessions of chemotherapy with steroids I gained weight that even after two years of intermittent fasting I couldn't get rid of. Fantastic experience: I am in the hormone replacement program with Dr César Lara and I can say that I highly recommend it since my life has changed favorably, reaching 60 years old feeling 40 is a blessing.

Negative experience: My daughter went and is lucky she got away. This "program" was very detrimental to her mentally and physically. She only quit after she ran out of money. Most of these reviews state how they have been with Lara for YEARS! These patients don't even know anymore how screwed up they are. It's like the Hotel California. You can check in but you can never leave. (Unless you run out of money)

Fantastic experience: I love the office staff. Always work with you on appointments and usually no wait. Did the twelve week awakening and lost over 30 lbs. Diet is very doable and medication really helps. My bloodwork improved and I feel great. Still have more to lose but confident I ,with the help of Dr Lara’s wonderful staff I will get there.

Fantastic experience: Only about 4 weeks into the semaglutide program for weight loss, and I've already released 20 pounds. No more shortness of breath going up stairs, no more knee discomfort. Very excited and confident that I will reach my goal!

Fantastic experience: When I arrived at Dr. Lara's office for my first appointment, I knew I was in the right place. Everyone is so incredibly kind and encouraging. They understand life happens and will talk about it with you if you don't have the greatest week. I chose Dr. Lara's office after years of telling other doctors my symptoms and being told it was just part of aging. I am so happy with the 12 week program that I am repeating it as I have quite a bit of weight to lose and it would not be healthy to do in the first 12 weeks. It is not just about the weight loss. I feel so much healthier, more energetic, and overall just feeling so much better. Life is becoming fun again. My tips for being successful: 1. Move a little each day, even if it is just for 15 minutes. 2. Don't box yourself in and get bored. Don't eat just plain chicken and a vegetable for your meals. There are so many great recipes on Dr. Lara's website. Also there are many recipes on the internet for some favorite comfort foods that work on the program. My favorite Dr. Lara recipes are the Blue Cheese and chicken salad, and the broccoli casserole. 3. Remember to be kind to yourself. You started this journey for you. We all have work, family obligations and other things in life. Always Celebrate the little things that may not be scale related. This can be your pants fitting looser to being able to take a longer walk one day. When I hit my goal weight, I will upload a before and after photo.

Fantastic experience: I have just completed my 4th week of the 12 week awakening program and I cannot say better things about it. I am consistently losing around 3 pounds a week and finally seeing the weight shed off of me is the most rewarding thing. I’ve been trying to loose weight all year and this program has finally allowed me to do so. Alex has been so incredibly sweet and supportive and I again can’t say better things about her. I highly recommend this program if you are on the fence about it, you really won’t regret it and the happiness it brings.

Negative experience: I paid for the very expensive (around $2k) Awakening treatment with no permanent results. At my first appointment, I informed the doctor that I was struggling with an eating disorder and attempted to explain how my relationship with food, caused by childhood trauma, made losing weight very difficult no matter how I tried. She looked at me as if I was attempting to explain how buying a lottery ticket with my kid's only lunch money was essential and just talked over me and ignored everything I said. In future visits when I brought up how the diet and supplements were making me feel (weak and faint, very nauseous, causing bad odors and extreme sweatiness, severe brainfog and confusion due to eating only 500-1000 cals/day with a very active job etc.) she scoffed and told me "I think you just had a bad week" and told me to spend MORE money on protein shakes or their special diet bars. She always acted very condescending and talked down to me like I was stupid and dismissed my concerns. It was a miserable experience and a very strict and sudden diet change which I was unable to stick to, causing me to end up starving myself and not drinking water for 24-48hrs before each humiliating weigh-in so that I would at least maintain the previous week's weight. Describing the experience to my therapist made her extremely concerned and she urged me to stop the program immediately and recommended emergency care at a live-in eating disorder facility. This place does NOT promote a healthy relationship to food or weight loss, instead prioritizing fast and dramatic results while encouraging you to ignore all signs your poor body is sending you to stop immediately. I hope others searching for genuine help look elsewhere and don't fall into the same trap I did.

The professionalism from Dr. Lara and his staff is concierge-level. The longevity of the staff is a testament to the professional culture of the office. Fantastic experience: A couple of years ago I started feeling my energy levels declining, my workouts at the gym where not the same, I was referred to Dr. Lara and scheduled my consultation looking to understand what the hormone replacement program was all about. The scheduling team was able to look for an appointment that worked around my busy schedule, the first seat down with Connie left me feeling I was in the right place. I signed up for the program and since my life has change for the better. If you need your hormones balanced look no further than this practice..

Fantastic experience: I am 65 years old doing Dr. Cesar Lara's Bio Identical Hormone Program (BHRT) and feel fabulous! My menopausal symptoms are a thing of the past. Dr. Lara took time to hear my symptoms and concerns and structured a plan for my needs. I don't know where I would be without his help!

Negative experience: Highly disappointed! I made an appointment to see Dr Lara. I filled out the extensive questionnaire beforehand and checked in on time. I was taken back for weigh in and blood pressure check and then put in a room. I was told the doctor was finishing with a patient and he would be with me as soon as he was done. 30 minutes later, no one came to the room. I went to the front desk and said I would have to reschedule since I left work to go to this appointment. I received no apology or excuse for being left in a room for 30 minutes. I never saw the doctor and only heard his voice in the next room for the first 5 minutes of my wait. I was very disappointed with the laissez faire attitude of the staff and the lack of respect for my time. Update 2023 - My wife has seen Dr Lara for hormone therapy and weight management. Dr Lara performed a gyno exam (totally unnecessary) and prescribed hormones, including testosterone for my wife. After 3 months, my wife's testosterone was more than 2X what is considered safe/normal for a woman and she started to grow facial hair, stopped her menstrual cycle and increased risk of heart attack/stroke. This "doctor" is unethical and unsafe. I have no hesitation to call him a sham doctor and someone who is in this as a business to make money and abuse women - all for himself. He may think he is a "shaman" and he may talk like an enlightened healer, but he is a snake oil salesman at best!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Cesar Lara was recommended to me by 2 friends. I also had another doctor recommended. I did my research & found Dr Lara was the clear choice! His holistic & comprehensive approach was the right fit that was not available in any of several other programs I looked into. No selling of packaged foods required but instead teaching you to eat regular food in a healthy way. My dad was a leader in a weight loss program so I thought I knew how to eat right. This program was eye opening & yet easy to follow. The bonus is his highly skilled staff. They’re nurses not commissioned sales people. I only wish I found them sooner. Anyone, at any age can follow this program & lose weight. Go for it! What do you have to lose except the weight.

The staff at Dr. Lara's office has been phenomenal (Kathy and Connie are two of several who have taken care of me), taking the time during my weekly visit to review my progress, listen to my concerns and observations, and offer good ideas and encouragement. A huge plus for me is that the staff has offered suggestions for new foods that I like to eat, with several "eat this instead of that" substitutions. In addition, I can find all that I need to eat in my favorite grocery store. The supplements and appetite suppressant have also been very good for my overall health. Fantastic experience: My partner and I have both been loyal patients of Dr Lara for over 3 years, mostly seeing him in his downtown St Pete location. Honestly, we can’t say ENOUGH wonderful things about Dr Lara. When I first became a patient of Dr Lara, I was 30 pounds overweight and my partner 20 pounds. Through pretty strict adherence to the plan and the personal commitments to each other to work our way to wellness, Dr Lara has gently guided us in all the right directions. His caring, calm, and gracious manner make every visit enjoyable and the careful monitoring of our health as we’re both in our 60’s is just not a service that is readily available. As a direct result of Dr Lara’s care, we can both honestly say we’re in the best health since many years, from losing our weight and keeping it off, constantly improving our physical condition through regular exercise and best of all the daily BHRT carefully monitored by Dr Lara has improved my emotionally well being tremendously. I feel like myself again. There are very few Dr’s who have the compassion for his patients as Dr Lara. He’s a Prince among men.

Negative experience: Hormone Replacement Nightmare! I am a 46-year-old female who has been dedicated to working out and maintaining healthy eating habits my whole life. However, in the past year, I gained 10 lbs. and was referred to Dr. Lara as a potential solution to help me lose weight and gain more energy. Upon seeing Dr. Lara for weight management, he ran blood tests and prescribed me with hormone replacements and dietary supplements. I purchased all the prescribed hormones and continued my usual healthy habits, as Dr. Lara told me there was no need to change my diet since I was already on track. I was surprised by his approach, as he did not provide me with any specific diet recommendations, only hormones. I followed his program for 4 months, but then started experiencing negative side effects from the hormones that were not explained or discussed with me at the beginning of the treatment or during consultations. Some of the symptoms I experienced were early menopause, facial hair growth, water retention, and instead of losing the initial 10 lbs, I ended up gaining an additional 5 lbs. When I expressed my concerns to Dr. Lara, he dismissed them, attributing my menopause as natural and prescribing a cream for facial hair, as well as medication for diabetes to aid weight loss. However, I disagreed with his diagnosis and sought a second opinion from my Primary Care doctor, who immediately advised me to stop the hormones due to the negative side effects. I also consulted an endocrinologist who confirmed the high levels of testosterone in my blood tests, which were extremely concerning and higher than that of a male. She started treating me to reverse the damage caused by the hormone therapy. As soon as I stopped the hormone therapy with Dr. Lara, my period returned, contradicting his earlier claim that my menopause was natural, but rather it was caused by the unnecessary high levels of hormones in my system. Now, I am facing additional time and expenses to reverse the negative side effects caused by a "one-size-fits-all" kind of treatment offered by Dr. Lara. In summary, I regret my decision and cannot recommend Dr. Lara.

Fantastic experience: I have done quite a few weight loss programs like HCG, Nutrisystem, phentermine and more. The results were temporary and based on 500 calorie diets. My first visit to Dr Lara was very different. Coco was absolutely positive and really let me know that this lifestyle change would be fun, easy and long term. She made me feel comfortable and I was happy to see a staff of diversity and inclusion. The whole staff gave me information and really worked as a team answering all my questions and took time to listen to my concerns. I'm 10 pounds down and will continue the program until I reach my goal. I am very happy with this program.

Negative experience: I was hoping to be a returning patient but their is no price difference. $1800 for the full package which you can pay in three payments for an extra $50. What a ripoff. You can also pay $200 for the first visit and weekly it would be $80. This does not include any supplements. This equals $1080 for the 12 weeks (if I did my math right). So the supplements cost $800. What? How ridiculous. My fault that I gained weight again but wasn't expecting it to be so much money. Too bad!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Dr Lara for over 12 years. I first started with the HCT diet and lost over 60lbs then I moved to their regular plan. I’ve lost a total of 100 lbs and have kept it off for 11 years. Their plan works you just have to stick to it. I still go there for maintenance to keep myself on track and to get my thyroid meds.

Negative experience: Formnovélle is a colossal waste of time and money. I would add photos of my “before and afters” but they keep them and don’t give you a copy. I followed the diet/exercise/supplements/lotion & compression garments. I lost weight (at a constant calorie deficit along with no carbs or alcohol) so of course I lose a couple inches (including off of areas they measure but didn’t treat). But the treatment didn’t smooth the appearance of any part of my body. It didn’t ‘debulk’ the areas of treatment, it didn’t help minimize stretch mark appearance, it didn’t reduce any of my cellulite. I would have had the same results with just diet and exercise and could have saved $3000. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME. The Dr and NP are delightful humans but this treatment needs to be eliminated as a service.

Negative experience: I was really disappointed with the service. I did lose some weight. but, after the initial consult, I never once saw the consultant again and never met Dr. Lara himself. After the first appointment, I went in for a shot and weight-in for $75 each week. I was not asked to keep a food diary. My food was never reviewed after that first week. So, just for the basics - $300 / month, then the supplements they recommend, plus the cost of periodic blood work. Very expensive! I really felt it wasn't much service for the cost.

Fantastic experience: In the pass I have gone to 3 other local weight loss centers. Two were the same song and dance. Your weekly visit weight in get a b12 shot and prescription that was it. You were just number to them. The last one was little different but still just number. They just offered additional fat burning shots and prepared food if you wanted to buy it. However, you did not get choose from menu. It was what ever they decided to make for week. I did best there compared to the first two and referred people there. Well since working remotely from home due to Covid-19 and working long hours and on weekends due to so were I work we had 3 Covid-19 testing tents going.
