Healthcare Services Group Inc: Reviews
Negative experience: Health care service group as whole needs a revamp the way they treat their workers is actually boarder line illegal no way should we have worked for this company as long as we did with no raises ever or accountability for management I’ve quit this job 3x and only came back because I needed more money but wouldn’t advice anyone with sense to work here truthfully.
Negative experience: Just upset because after fingerprinting I was told they couldn't find me in the system. I was really looking forward in working there also. But hopefully things will brighten up in the future. Please make sure you do your homework and check out the reviews first. It may be helpful. This location is in Florida.
Negative experience: The dietary department at Health Care Service Group is a disaster. They go through managers like socks, and the ones they do hire have no idea how to run things. Instead of hiring qualified staff, they’ll take anyone, regardless of whether they’re capable of doing the job. This leads to constant mistakes, poor teamwork, and an overall mess of an operation. The lack of leadership and accountability makes working here frustrating and exhausting. The worst part? Drinking and 420 friendly on the clock, both staff and managers openly talk badly about residents behind their backs, showing zero respect for the people they’re supposed to be caring for. On top of that, the food they serve isn’t even decent—it looks like scraps thrown together with no care for nutrition or quality. Half the time the correct food isn’t even available. Openly deny residents simple items. It’s heartbreaking to see residents being treated this way. Avoid this place at all costs, sincerely a former employee from Rhode Island .
Negative experience: I give this place zero stars by far the worst place u cam work for the district nick Snyder will lie on u and make things up to terminate u they will expect u to do there job they won't listen if ur a female nick Snyder will try and get down ur pants or try to call u to office with no witness they will expect u to show up when states there cause he's to lazy all the coworkers are only out to lie as nick also tells them what to do the regional or district won't confront u when issues arise they will send emails instead they will lie so u don't get unemployed they will lie on write ups and treat there people unfair there management makes little money I would give it zero stars I have had. To get a lawyer over this company
Fantastic experience: Jess at Edgewood Manor of Wellston does an amazing job at keeping that place beautiful! The floors are so shiny you can see yourself in them. I have never walked into a facility that didn’t have a smell. She does an amazing job keeping it smelling fantastic! Why isn’t she a regional already?!?
Negative experience: If I could I would leave zero Stars. Never in my life have I felt so unappreciated and do not work for Healthcare Services Group the most horrible place to work. I work for this company going on 3 years almost 4 years I have never worked for a company who could careless about their employees. The managers and the district managers rude and greedy people. They look at you like you're lower than scum.
Negative experience: I worked for this company and I had someone do something inappropriate( a coworker not a patient) and my boss said to sweep it under the rug. When I told my regional (my bosses boss). What happened and why I was quitting she said “we don’t care you should be at work” so never ever work this place unless you wanna get underpaid and mistreated. I feel bad for the other employees still working there.
Negative experience: I learned about Health Care Services thru Shenandoah Nursing Home in Charles Town WV. They are the organization that handles their food services. I gave Shenandoah a five star review last year; but had to return this year (2025) and gave them a 3.5 - 4 star due to their food services. Health Care Food Services has had the worst food I have ever had. It has gone down hill from last year. Mind you it's only been less than six months when I was here. The food has no taste. It seems like they just slap the food on the plate. The trays and dishes are not clean. I have had to use plastic utensils to eat with. If I get a drink in a small glass I use a straw to keep from putting my mouth on the glass (but trust and believe I check out the glass first before I drank). I have a small dog that comes here to visit me. Last Sunday (1/26/2025) for lunch they served something that was supposed to be cheese pizza like? Mind you my dog loves to eat just like her owner. I threw her a piece and she wouldn't eat it. Well if my dog won't eat it neither will I. What your organization fail to realize is that we are human too. Just because we are in a nursing home does not mean that we're not in our right frame of mind. You get some staff who think they can serve you anything and no one will complain. Well Health Care Services, I'm complaining. Your food service staff at Shenandoah nursing home is the worst ever. If this is how you represent yourself you are doing a poor job of it. We are people too!!!!! I hope they cancel your contract because somewhere in there you guys lied. Servicing healthy food or even food you can eat is something you're not doing.
Negative experience:
Negative experience: Dave was rude and very unprofessional
Negative experience: This company needs to be held accountable.... these reviews are through the roof.
Negative experience: Worked briefly for this company. By trade, I am a Certified Medical Assistant and Certified Nursing Assistant /GNA, and wanted to apply my transferrable skills in healthcare management with HCSG. Quickly realized that company (or manager in this case) is concerned only with having bodies in place to perform daily housekeeping duties. Whether new employees have healthcare or cleaning experience, or not. The lack of cleanliness throughout the facility I worked at was absolutely FRIGHTENING! From the time I applied for the position until the time I started, less than a week, COVID cases were in the double-digits. My co-workers (some who have been with the company for well over 10 years) were slow and did a really half behind job of cleaning leaving other required tasks undone in resident's rooms or common areas for other housekeepers to complete the following day. *Position cons: Daily exposure to bodily fluids. **Extremely low hourly pay Everyone not on same page with what is expected and the process for "consistently," making it happen New hires with no medical training or understanding of the importance of deep cleaning and sanitization Favoritism Nepotism.
Negative experience: Was hired as an MIT never received. Any training was just used as labor the place that I worked at was nice sister there we’re very good the company I work for healthcare services was terrible I literally was like. The church let the devil in was there for almost a year then I started asking about the training about paystub‘s finally I had enough I gave them a two week notice and the manager turns to me and said we don’t need negativity here. How about we end things today so of course I took my stuff and left going to have to get a lawyer because they were fixing. Hours for overtime and then didn’t pay me my last week which resulted in my insurance being canceled and I ended up in the hospital and he knows that I’m a type one diabetic
Negative experience: If I could give a minus, I would. Company is horrible. Overworked, Understaffed and lied about a situation that costed me my Job. The Supervisors only care about a body in the position and not the situation. Wouldn't work for them again
Negative experience: they took over our dietary and housekeeping at my facility and they are absolutely terrible company are nourishment rooms are bare compared to how they used to be they don't clean they can't cook i honestly dont know how they are an actual business because this is not it I've never seen a more poorly managed business before
Negative experience: Straight trash of a company does not care about anything but making money. Which by the way you can't make money without employees. These poor residents who pay a lot get crapped on that is there home it's not right
Positive experience: Pure modern slavery for lower level lead managers, all the company cares about is the money they make and will burn out the managers or should I say leads. HR doesnt care cause it's not there problem. Once you are burnt out or tired , They will replace you and brain wash the new Guy. I nothing bad to say about the company but some of the things I see and hear are terrible and they should be ashamed
Negative experience: Modern day slavery for account managers, They use the contracted managers to do the labor.. You will be managing to clean 90% of the time and HR will say your not supposed to do it consistently , But Thats, and all they care about is Deep cleans .. please half these ran down buildings you couldn't tell if the room's were or not unless your using a black light and on top of that want them to do administrative work in 14 days Run. Dont be a manager unless your reqdy to work around the clock and Hcsg dont mind you sacrificing yourself for them.. and throw you away once you're body is broken down, Cause as soon as you have a permanent building , your the one to cover open spots and they don't even want to the staff you get the overtime to do the work.. and when the state ask where are your staff you can't tell them well my company doesn't want to run overtime so we have to cover everything. This company need to go back to hiring supervisors because the manager's can't supervise if there doing everyone's work consistently! And when it comes to a bonus for staying under budgets. The district managers get the credit and the manager's nothing but keep up the good work keep hustling!
Negative experience: After 15 years, this is the worst it's ever been. No raises ever, and if you ask for an annual review, you are ignored then treated badly. HR Larry Gidley is as crooked as they come so don't bother calling the hotline. Don't work here, you will not be valued at all.
Negative experience: You will be overworked, underpaid, gaslit, lied to, wrote up because you found an illegal payroll mess up, retaliation, job missclassified, work 4 jobs and then get fired due to defamation of character! and not get unemployment because you were NOT ALLOWED WATER DUE TO A RANDOM DRUG TEST!! OH AND THEY WILL LOOT YOUR OFFICE AND STEAL YOUR THINGS. ITS DISCUSTING AND THEY NEED STOPPED! Oh and I bet they won't post the truth here!! Evil evil company!! Enjoy your job!
Negative experience: I worked with this company for less than a week. Its so very unprofessional. I definitely wouldn't recommend. I am going through hurdles now trying to get paid for the hours I work. I haven't gotten paid at all. I have called the supervisor at the facility I was at and I have called corporate twice and still haven't gotten a call back. The nursing home I worked at was so nasty and smelled so bad. I couldn't take it. I have text messages from the housekeeping supervisor ignoring me about my pay. I don't want to reach out to a lawyer but I don't know what else to do.
Fantastic experience: Love Greg! He provides professional and attentive care.
Negative experience: used to be happy with Healthcare services group. But they are horrible as of 2024. They pay minimum wage complain all of the time. They have very lazy housekeepers as other reviews have stated. The nursing home was gross. They think you are going to break your back working for them. They blam you for there filthy nursing home. Stay away from this company. I happily resigned.
Negative experience: I got cussed out every day stuff threw at me couldn't have any days off at all got called and idiot got treated like trash
Negative experience: As a patient at a nursing home I am appalled with the management and they unwillingness to give proper service to the patients. They are always out of product and the regional manager comes in without speaking with the patients representative the answer from the onsite team is always that we should speak to management. This is unacceptable and the state should be looking into this. This company seems to be bidding to low for contracts and then unable to supply the necessary products that are acceptable standards. My next step is to contact the state of Massachusetts health department.
Negative experience: The whole orono commons kitchen quit including me today honestly I loved working in this kitchen but the management sucks buttchecks honestly still waiting on my w2
Negative experience: Will completely dismantle workforce already established. Cuts corners. Poor management communication (when there even is any) Legitimately only cares about making money and not paying staff well despite forcing them into poor working conditions and understaffing. Does not care about quality of service. Took over the kitchen at my nursing home and took away the residents’ rights to suitable food because “budget cuts”. This means no soup if they’re sick. Have allergies? You starve or order out. Portions too small for your diet? Too bad! Completely disgusting company in my and many others’ opinion.
Negative experience: Gross management, they treat their staff like garbage. I would rate it -5 stars but that low isn't an option
Negative experience: Horrible upper management. Just save your own mental health and don’t even consider this.
Negative experience: Company has no reason, respect, or ability to follow procedures.
Negative experience: If your putting a loved one in a nursing home, please check with administration to be sure this company isn't contracted for housekeeping and laundry!! The food they serve is food I wouldn't even feed to my dog, the complaints go unheard, they hire the employees that no one else wants to hire and for a reason! I wish there was a option to give no stars
Negative experience: Giving no star is too much!! They don't deserve any. The worst job I've ever had. The account manager acted more like he wanted to be friends with employees instead of being able to get them to work. For some reason the pm diet aide thiught when you start your day it means play games on the phone, make lunch sit down and eat then after an hour or so start working. He never said a word. He would do their work for them. He didn't know how to be a mediator. But, he did wear pants sooo tight he did the sweaty ball dip walk constantly. Really gross! I started as a Cook, demoted to dishwasher! I was told some lie. But it was because of my age and I said I was retiring so, they hire another cook give her the hours I wanted and made me a diet aide dishwasher. When I told HR that was a complete waste of time. They lie too! All I can say is it's nice to be gone from there. Account manager burned the morning cook did not report it. Why? Did he think he was running a perfect kitchen? Because it was a JOKE. The benefits are useless. They don't cover didly squat.
Fantastic experience: Nice place the housekeeper try their best
Negative experience: Well I heard over in Stephenville TX from my friend that works in the lone star rehabilitation and wellness center told me that the manager named Kyle Stevens called all of his employees in the the laundry room verbally attacked one of his female employee and chased her down and cornered her while screaming as loud as he can red in the face and slammed doors and got violent and abusive he should be fired all of his employees witnessed it
Negative experience: This company took over housekeeping department at a nursing facility I will not name in 2020. Upon my return to the facility in 2022 I found the overall cleanliness was extremely poor. Myself and my coworkers now have to hustle to get this facility sanitary once again . I would not recommend hiring this company for anything.
Negative experience: Healthcare as an industry is a mess. Beware for your sanity.
Positive experience: Great support
Negative experience: Absolute worst company ever... never seen anything like it. Underbid accounts which leaves the managers scrambling to provide even low quality services. Treat their staff like trash, quick to terminate long term employees after 22 years that are 1 year from retirement because they are “making changes and need fresh eyes”. Beyond despicable, they lie and cut corners. Horrible company, I simply have not one nice thing to say.
Negative experience: They don't know how to treat there workers,
Fantastic experience: Went in for flu shot. Quick painless and friendly.
Fantastic experience: I like healthcare services group
Negative experience: Very unprofessional, disrespectful, But that's only one person in the COMPANY that I had the pleasure of working with. It doesn't seem the company follows through with their complaints neither..
Thank you, your feedback is appreciated. If you have any additional comments or concerns, please be sure to contact a member of our HR department by calling 800-363-4274.
Negative experience: This company lies I never stole a day of my life I was protecting a patient phone forgot it head boss said believe me 100 percent then call back says family says remove me lies again the patient said I was a lifesaver but thank god new job more money and lied said they doing investigation never calls back they are foul..I was highly upset
Negative experience: Horrible management. Deceptive.
Negative experience: No respect for non management employees. Expect a 10 hour job to be done in 6 hours with top notch results. Go over on your scheduled time you get disciplined.
Fantastic experience: Very efficient.
Negative experience: These people are unethical and has no integrity, and they want you to be the same way, I was trained for 2 1/2 days, and was left in a already sinking ship, my trainer lived closed to where I worked he would stop in and do things to sabotage my job, put out dated items in refrigerator that was a month outdated when I checked and removed outdated items daily.there was outdated emergency food supply, when I dug a little deeper, the boxes had one date on the outside, but the cans inside was outdated! Who does that? Before, I realized what he was doing, he would tell me not to order emergency replacement food, because I did don't want to raise a red flag and be over budget. That red flag would have shown that he wasn't not doing his job. I wouldn't recommended this company to anyone.
Negative experience: Attempting to contact corporate to update my information to get my W2 is a joke. I've called 3 times, left 3 messages, have not heard back. My old manager blocked me and I no longer live in that state so I cannot just show up there to update it.
Negative experience: Over worked and underpaid
Negative experience: HCS staff and managers are liars and they are very disrespectful. They tell you lies instead of acknowledging your concern. I have been disrespected by several members and have yet to receive my refund which they have promised on several different occasions. I have been told three different dates and they continued to lie even though I have all information recorded.
Negative experience: The pay is horrible
Negative experience: Ok after reading over 100 1 star reviews about working here it is no suprise to me what I am hearing. Taking out for health insurance for a year and a half to find out the employee was never actually insured. How does this work? 100% positive it's not legal. Now they try and hand an insurance card dating back a year I think not no was already told by the health provider have no record of ever being insured. Is this place mafia run or something? It would be nice to hear a response on here about this issue.
Your opinion is very important to us. Please feel free to share additional concerns with a member of our HR team by calling 800-363-4274.
Negative experience: Worst place I've ever had to deal with the nursing staff are very rude an unprofessional if anyone has ever took any advice to heart let this be it an just stay away an this hasn't just been going on for a month or so it's been 2 years or more. Just like today I called 5 times no answer they finally answered on the 6th time an ask them what was going on they couldn't answer there phones an they say med pass so ur telling me there is only one employee working the entire building or dose it take every employee to pass out meds. Really this place is a joke an trust me I never use social media ever to put someone on blast but I've had it with this company. I feel that this place need someone to step in an really pay attention to detail on how they operate. I wouldn't even of gave them 1 star rating but I had to to be able to type this review. And for the record I'm not an employee
Negative experience: Horrible company.
Negative experience: My daughter, who has high funtioning autism (& they hired her knowing this) whonis trying extremely hard to be a productive citizen, gets cursed and yelled at in a daily basis! They also make her stay until she is done even if her job is slowed down by other team members & sometimes makes ger stay over 2 hrs over her shift! I pick her up in a complete panic and in tears! I know she does her best and is productive. But seriously, bullying a disabled disabled person is ILLEGAL!!!!! Filing a claim with EEOC!
We are so sorry to hear about your experiences. Please call our compliance line at 833-474-4274.
Negative experience: Worst company ever worked with. Only care about saving money and labor
As a company that is committed to our employees’ satisfaction, your opinion matters to us. If you have additional feedback, contact our HR department at 800-363-4274.
Positive experience: Ok
Fantastic experience: Great team
Fantastic experience: Seems like all the bad reviews are from bitter employees who weren't doing there jobs properly and were replaced with better, harder working employees to take care of the patients....
Negative experience: This company only cares about how much money they can make. Upper management is lazy and incompetent. They treat the employees like complete garbage. Unfortunately, they work in the retirement home industry and couldn't care less about the people in the retirement homes! They cut corners and do whatever they need to do to make money while sacrificing quality 100%. They lie, they cheat, and they are unethical. Avoid them at all costs!!!!!
