Positive experience: Edited review: Had an issue with their loud music every night. for a few weeks.. it was kinda known around the area that they were Denver's new "Nightclub." After hearing of the disturbance, they did turn things down noticably and all 4 houses here really appreciate it. The speakers out front seem to be really nice for only 2 small ones! Safari Miles was drowned out nightly and they are closer to my house. So def check this place out if you're into a good sound system.
Hello Jonothan, The club has two small speakers on the exterior to enhance the energy and mood for members and guests, similar to what restaurants and bars do. We will monitor the decibel levels from these speakers at night and make necessary adjustments. Additionally, we will explore alternative options to minimize the issue from your home. Upon implementing any changes, please inform us if they are effective. If the issue persists, we are willing to visit your property to gain a firsthand understanding of the situation. Our goal is to accommodate all within our community. On a separate note, we regret that you did not approach the club’s General Manager or Owner to discuss this matter directly rather than pursuing social media action. Fantastic experience: Once the new plate loaded equipment arrives at the new location, this will be the best gym in the LKN area. Plenty of space and amenities and the members come to workout instead of socializing and occupying equipment for unreasonable periods of time.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic facilities. This is an Executive level health club. My only critique is they need to neutralize the media on the screens. I don’t want a sermon or see the news while I’m in the gym. If someone needs this they can listen or watch on the WiFi on their private devices.

Fantastic experience: You will love this Fitness Facility! Not your basic Planet Fitness or LA fitness or Crunch Fitness. Quality equipment for all fitness levels and athletic levels as well. Positive experience: I love the location of the new gym! I had been telling all my peers who moved here for work about it, and kept driving by as it was being built and counting down for it to open, only to find out the new location isn't accepting the Active & Fit membership that our company pays for us to use. So needless to say, there's a bunch of heartbroken employees in the area since the original location is inconvenient for us. Hoping they'll change their mind soon and let the Active & Fit crew enjoy the new facility and convenient location soon!! Enjoy the new facility everyone!

We understand how important convenience is when choosing a fitness facility, and we’re sorry to hear that our current policy regarding insurance-based memberships has been disappointing. Let me provide some insight into why we’re unable to accept insurance-based plans, like Active & Fit, at our new location. Unfortunately, all insurance-based plans that operate at DHF-North already run at a deficit. This challenge has been compounded by the recent inflationary expenses and the reduction in government funding to Medicare, which impacts programs like the one you’re referring to. Over the last six months, we’ve actively tried to negotiate adjustments to these plans with third-party administrators, but they’ve maintained their current terms. We are doing everything that we can to be able to keep these plans at DHF-North location for our members to have access to. With the additional costs associated with running the new facility, allowing these plans would further drive up expenses. Since these plans operate at a deficit, it would require us to raise membership rates for our paying members to cover the shortfall—a decision that wouldn’t be fair or sustainable. This is why we also came out with Senior memberships and we also have Corporate memberships that businesses can take advantage of. We remain committed to advocating for change and hope that, in the future, insurance providers will recognize the true value of health and fitness facilities like ours. As you know, fitness plays a vital role in improving health and longevity, and we deeply value your support and understanding as we navigate these challenges. If you have further questions or would like to explore other membership options, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Positive experience: Just started going back to a gym and kinda lost in it

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE. I got a year long membership plan before going to college and it was fine. But after I moved even after I canceled multiple times I got continuously harassed with emails, phone calls, and voicemails regarding more and more charges that as a broke college student really set me back. Nearly a year after leaving I have been sent to collections for charges I did not make. It’s to the point I’ve given this company hundreds of dollars for them to finally leave me alone. PLEASE DONT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE

We also want to provide a clear outline of the steps we took with your account. We have provided an chronology of events for your account as all our interactions with the club and the billing company are documented and or recorded. Firstly, we noticed we have waived late fees on your account 5-6 times over the past year as a courtesy. 7/27/2023: The service team here and the billing company attempted to call you multiple times regarding an unpaid balance but did not hear back until 9/25/2023 when you called the gym. We explained the cancellation process and why you had past dues. We also provided the billing company's direct customer service line and the necessary information for your cancellation. 12/01/2023: You called asking why your account was still being drafted. Our notes indicated that you had not yet reached out to the billing company. We provided their customer service information again, along with the necessary details to process your cancellation request. 12/06/2023: You contacted the billing company on this date, and they set up your cancellation and explained the amount you were responsible for. However, the owed amount was not settled, leading the billing company to send your account to collections. They have reached out to you multiple times via email, call, and text to resolve this issue. 3/15/2024: We discussed your membership and cleared up your past dues. Since then, you have not owed anything else, and your account has been in good standing. We understand you received a letter from Aldous. Please disregard this letter, as we have confirmed with them to close the matter since your account is in good standing. Please feel free to reach out with any further questions. Negative experience: Clean facility. Good equipment. Fox News is everywhere, and there's some questionable logos on the staff shirts. Requests to change the channel to literally anything else ignored. Take your safety into consideration. Response: Fox News was on 3 monitors. Your logo is not that of the American Flag. Thin Blue Line regalia is a well known dog whistle. Edit: I am editing this review to 5 stars as they changed the channel, showing a willingness to listen. Re-Edit: Within 2 days of me changing the star count, Fox News went right back up. This behavior is very telling.
Dear Alexander Nicolici - Thank you for the compliments on the cleanliness and the good equipment of our facility. We strive hard to keep the facility in tip top shape. As for the comments about the Fox news station. I went out to verify your comments that "Fox News everywhere". There are a total of 9 TV’s on the walls from the lobby to the back of the fitness floor. There was only 1 TV that had Fox News on it and all the others had a variety of ESPN / other news networks and internal information TV's. The comments about questionable logos on uniforms I can only presume your are referring to the American Flag. And the statement “Take your safety into consideration.” Seem to be political statements or at least references to a political position. Negative experience: Do not sign up to this gym. They outsource their payments to another company that will continue to charge you no matter how many times you cancel. I had to call over ten times just to get them to send an email stating my son's membership was canceled after MONTHS of trying and they STILL are harassing him with bills. This is insane! No wonder they have money to build another gym - such a scam.

We understand the importance of transparent and efficient billing practices, and we regret that your sons experience did not reflect these standards. We do use a third party solution for billing. The reason for this is there are rules and regulations that have to be maintained in order to handle payment information. The company we use and others like them have the infrastructure, procedures, security protocols and technology to facilitate this service for us. In fact 99+% of all fitness clubs use a third party solution. You really do want a fitness club to use a third party solution for PCI security compliance. What you described is unusual and we would like to investigate this matter further to ensure that appropriate actions are taken to resolve it promptly and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. Could you please provide us with additional details such as your son's membership barcode number / first and last name and email address associated with his account and if you have your communications with the customer service team please forward that as well to [email protected] This will enable us to track down the specific issues and work towards a satisfactory resolution. Positive experience: Probably 3.5 stars if I could choose. There is a generous variety of equipment and spaced out nicely. There are several dumbbells and bars to choose from and are great quality. Treadmills are ~10 which seems too few for the amount of people in there each time I visited. There are surprisingly extremely few classes for group fitness for a gym this size. Virtual classes are definitely not my thing - not sure I get the point of going to the gym to do a virtual class, especially when I don’t need equipment (unless I just need a separate space that perhaps people don’t have at home? I don’t get it). I would expect at least 2 or 3 back-back classes early AM and 3-4 in evenings until close as standard (hiit, cycle, kickbox, strength training) - maybe they are trying to add. Very clean though. Friendly staff.

We're glad to hear that you appreciate the variety and quality of equipment available at DHF, as well as the cleanliness and friendliness of our staff that does mean a lot to us. Regarding your concerns about the number of treadmills and group fitness classes, We have a total of 42 pieces of cardio on the cardio deck, 14 of them are treadmills. We also have a cycle studio that has 21 Life Fitness bikes that can be used in a class or with a virtual program. We have a bunch of other cardio related equipment in our CrossFit box for our CrossFit members. Ever since the pandemic it has been hard for the entire fitness industry to find the resources (e.g. fitness instructors) they need to operate like they want to. We are striving to rebuild our group fitness schedule like it used to be. Due to not being able to find the talent needed for group fitness classes it was for that reason we decided to bring in the virtual solutions as an alternative. It is not what we wanted as we prefer to have live instructors (much higher level of engagement with our members). We know virtual classes may not be for everyone, they do provide an additional option for those looking to diversify their workouts or participate in classes when in-person sessions are not feasible. A lot of the virtual classes we have here are Les Mills classes and many of them require equipment that we provide for you. On a side note we have seen more job applications come in for group fitness / personal trainers lately. As I said earlier we are striving to get our group fitness schedule back to what it was. We currently have the following on the schedule: Group X classes 23 / week Small Group Training classes 5 / week and growing CrossFit classes 31 classes / week It's worth noting that post-pandemic, there has been a shift in member preferences across the entire industry towards weight/resistance training as cardio machines took a step back in popularity. This is indicated by all of the industry data and we are actually seeing this from our own members. We took this information and have used it to help plan and build our new facility (DHF South) which is about 6 miles south of us on Hwy 16. So soon members will have the option for more equipment in the months to come. We are constantly striving to improve and will take your suggestions into consideration. Negative experience: Canceling your membership is impossible and filled with 3rd parties and aggressive calls. The owners reply to me here should be a master class on how not to deal with customers. *It is impossible to cancel a membership here you’ll be canceling your credit card instead*

Negative experience: The worst customer service I have ever seen in any service industry. We recently moved out of the area and had to jump thru hoops in order to cancel our membership. We were then provided incorrect information from the gym general manager to submit our cancelation and they continued to charge us annual fees and multiple monthly membership fees. Once we contacted them to dispute they told us there was nothing they could do and all these fees would go to collections. The most unhelpful business. They care nothing about helping customers and only want to collect their money.

Fantastic experience: First time going there, the gym was all-around super clean and had friendly staff. I’m definitely going back.
Negative experience: While DHF appears to be great and has a nice facility they are extremely expensive compared to other gyms I have had a membership at that were just as nice. Very little is included in the price. You have to sign at least a year contract and the billing company they use is extremely difficult to cancel with. Literally recommended choosing any other gym.

With that said despite the membership term value is only realized when it is used. Fantastic experience: Clean, welcoming, and equipment are in good condition. The only thing so far I've seen that could use improving is the cable machines and attachments. The cables feel a little worn and some of the attachments need to be replaced.

Fantastic experience: I was in town and found this gym.. I stayed in Denver and was shocked a gym was so nice in this small town... Coming from ATL Denver health and fitness knocked it out. 15 buck day pass and very clean facility.. This gym had a huge outdoor turf area... Good for sprints and just outside work. No I wouldnt imagine going out there in the winter though... Probably cold.. Good equipment here and definitely worth the time to check out.

So many awesome class options, great instructors and coaches, excellent Crossfit box, on-site child care, recently added hydro massage, clean changing rooms with lockers, showers, and sauna... plus it’s less than 10 minutes from my house. :)

Fantastic experience: Clean machines, all working. Clean facility with multiple classes at all levels. Great staff.
Negative experience: Nice place, but the only way to get any value or benefits out of a membership is a 12 or 24 month contract. I didn’t want to make any commitments because they can be hard and costly to get out of. I’ve learned that lesson once before. But otherwise, for monthly memberships, it’s a LOT more expensive to get started and you don’t get much out of it. They don’t even apply their military or first responder discounts unless you join under contract. Oh, and month to month people can’t come in 24/7. Why put 24/7 access on your sign if not everyone can even do it? Sounds like planet fitness is a much better choice. Less than half price and no commitment.

Yes we do have several levels of memberships and each level has additional amenities attached to them which is what drives the rates. It also sounds like you might have had a bad experience with cancelling a membership before. Sorry to hear that, however I can assure you we follow the NC law when it comes to the agreements. Our facility has been in place for 15 years and we continue to reinvest into the business with equipment and new services for our members. The club started out as 10,000sf club and now is 45,000sf. Fantastic experience: Family centered and great variety of free weights and machines!! Plenty of cardio machines as well. Child watch as well while you workout.
Negative experience: Got a year membership with them and stop coming after my year was up and the membership price was set at 25 a month as I thought they raised the price to 65 and I’m still paying them money I’ve called them to tell them to refund me but refuse and today they took 87 dollars from me. Don’t use them for a gym find something cheaper and better if you don’t want money stole
Carson - I am sorry to hear about this issue. Let me see if I can provide some clarity and resolution to this issue. Your membership has not increased at all. The front desk team member did explain to you the charge you referenced was a late charge by the billing company for a late payment but it was not a rate increase and it was not $65. In addition, your year membership ends on 7/29. What you stated is not accurate and making sure you have the accurate information is important. So I would like to ask you to come in on Monday or Tuesday to sit with a manager to go over your membership with you. Also at that time we will contact the billing company to try to get that late fee back for you. Thank you, DHF

Fantastic experience: The best gym in Lincoln, Catawba, and Iredell county hands down. Top of the line equipment all the way from barbells to even the fans on the ceiling. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Equipment and weights for all workout styles. 10/10 recommended

Fantastic experience: After a serious accident I have been living in pain for years. Multiple surgeries and tons of PT. I began working with Susan a trainer that actually listened and designed a custom workout program for me. In just a short time I am already starting to feel relief making it easier for me to want to do more because I’m seeing and feeling results. If you’re living in pain you should definitely come talk with her. She actually listens instead of just handling you like another patient. Highly recommend. (My injuries are shoulder replacement, knee surgeries, L4 bulging disk, L5 degenerative disk, ankle reconstruction, to name a few) She’s awesome and so is everyone else that I have worked with
Fantastic experience: This is a great gym that offers top notch amenities and fitness programs. Ownership has done a superb job staffing with well qualified coaches. The CrossFit gym has the best coaching I’ve had in five years.
Fantastic experience: Welcome to Denver Health & Fitness Where the floors are mopped with the sweat of Chuck Norris. Where spandex and muscle rub combine to make a mutated muscle CHUD. A place where back breaking workouts are handed out and then you pay them as they laugh and tell you there is more reps. Be warn my friend! You will either be grinded into protein powder or arise and become a Conan Clone.
Fantastic experience: I love this gym! I trained with Jenny and she really helped me and my husband get stronger and she helped me with my horrible relationship with food. I also love that they use the MyZone heart rate monitor. It has completely changed the way I work out. I push myself so much harder and the real-time heart rate zones show me if I am actually giving it my all or if it's just my brain telling me I'm tired. The gym itself it top-notch and the equipment is all newer and there is plenty of space to workout without being crowded.
Fantastic experience: Denver Health and Fitness has been my sanity oasis through such a crazy and stressful year with the pandemic and so much going on in the world. The atmosphere is so energizing and you can instantly feel the community welcomeness. I highly recommended the Hydromassage for stress relief.Try them out! It will be worth your while :)

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of DHF for a few months now. I’ve never met a cleaner more professional gym. The atmosphere here is amazing! Coached in CrossFit are the best around! Everyone makes you feel at home with no judgement at all. I’m glad I found a place that I can feel comfortable and happy and meet new friends to grow my fitness journey with.

Fantastic experience: I love CrossFit DHF for so many reasons, but here are my top three: First, the facilities are excellent. Second, the athletes and coaches create a welcoming community for everyone who walks through the doors, no matter if you’re brand new or a seasoned veteran. Third, the coaches are top notch. As a movement and exercise professional and healthcare provider, I know well the value of coaches who have not only an eye for movement analysis but also the ability to relay that information to athletes of varying skill and experience levels. Both Kathryn and Adam do that so well. CrossFit has a reputation for being too advanced for those who are inexperienced with fitness and exercise. But, at DHF you’ll see everyone from competitive athletes to everyday athletes working hard to improve their fitness and cheering for each other along the way. I look forward to each of the WODs that I attend - not only for the great workout, but also for the community DHF has created. I’m proud to call CrossFit DHF my home.
Fantastic experience: Ive been working out at DHF since day one. The gym is big and clean and bright. The equipment is up to date with tons of variety. There are plenty of options for group fitness, personal training and crossfit (my personal favorite). The staff is nice and always available. The members are friendly and supportive.

Fantastic experience: Denver Health and Fitness has been my home for all things fitness since 2014. The personal training instructors are top notch and provide individualized training for each client. I joined their CrossFit program the year I turned 50 and because of their amazing coaches, have done things I've never thought I'd be able to do at this age: climb ropes, do pull-ups and lift more weight than I thought possible. I highly recommend Denver Health and Fitness to anyone looking to make fitness a way of life.

Positive experience: The facility is fantastic. They have classes and a variety of different types of exercise. Their only downside is that if you want to quit you have to prove that you are moving 30 miles away from the location.

Fantastic experience: Been going for 2 yrs and love it. Has everything you need to be fit and healthy. Only downfall is guys on " supplements" act like they own every equipment.and take up three machines at once and walk around like their machines are their right even when it's busy.
Negative experience: The facilities are nice, and so are the staff. When I signed up here I was given the option of a 1 or 2 year membership and then I would be month to month, needing only to tell them to discontinue. I chose the option of a 1 year membership. About a year and a couple months later I moved to where there was a closer gym. I called to cancel, and the customer service team told me I would have a large fee to cancel. To my dismay the contract was marked with a 2 year agreement. I was upset, but I paid the bill for another year. Today I called to cancel again and I've been told I have to send them certified mail or complete it online, and I need to give them 30 days notice during which I'll be required to pay my bill. Avoid the club, go elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym! Completely remodeled with all new equipment and very clean!! The group exercise classes are my favorite with almost 50 classes a week to choose from. If the class times are not good for you, they also offer virtual classes at anytime, 24/7, including in the Cycle room. The staff is super friendly and very supportive! I would highly recommend Denver Health & Fitness.

Positive experience: El gimnasio después de la renovación ha quedado increíble, mucho más grande y podría decir que en instalación es el mejor. La atención al cliente es buena y el staff es amigable. Cómo mexicana (latina) en general nunca me he sentido incómoda El precio que yo pago es cómodo porque tengo el contrato anterior de hace muchos años. Ojo este gimnasio te obliga a firmar un contrato y si deseas quitarlo deberás acudir con una firma de abogados que te van a tratar de intimidar .
Fantastic experience: I've been attending this gym for several years, it is easily the best gym in the area, especially since the renovations were completed. They have a much better variety of free weights than any of the other gyms close by, more than enough machines to workout any part of your body, and a big cardio area. The employees are very friendly and the facility is always clean.
