I went in completely disheartened, diagnosed with multiple illnesses and feeling like no specialists were really listening to me. Fantastic experience: In today’s world, it is uncommon to find places where you feel seen, heard and understood. Ivy Integrative is one of the those rare places. From the moment I stepped in the door, I felt cared for and knew this place was different. The office is incredibly light and airy with touches of nature considered even in the names of the patient care rooms. This is not the feeling I would have expected in a south end office building; I was beyond pleasantly surprised. I had the absolute pleasure to experience my first ever Bowen Therapy session with Dr. Birch. The patient care room was incredibly comforting —producing a calm feeling I wouldn’t normally associate with a doctor’s office. Dr. Birch listened intently and offered thoughtful insights as I described some of my current ailments and concerns before starting the therapy. Once it was time to begin, I laid on the most comfortable therapy table and Dr. Birch covered me with a warm blanket. The 30 minute therapy session was minimally invasive as she massaged specific pressure points throughout my body which I barely felt at first. A few moments in, I was the most relaxed I’d been in a long time — a feeling that lasted well after I left the office. Afterwards, Dr. Birch made specific holistic recommendations moving forward. I am so grateful for Dr. Birch, Bowen Therapy and the entire team for their excellent care. I cannot wait to be back again!

She is so knowledgeable on everything holistic health related and all the products displayed in the office. Elena, the nutritionist at Ivy, has been so helpful and full of gut related knowledge. Gut testing is something i’ve been meaning to do for a while, and this is definitely the place to get it done. She thoroughly describes what may be out of balance in your gut, while helping me feel confident that healing is possible!

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough about how helpful Ivy Integrative has been throughout my husband and I’s journey to becoming parents! I’ve been seeing Dr. Birch at Ivy since early this year. We reached out to Dr. Birch because we had some concerns about my cycle/hormone levels that we felt were not being taken seriously at my annual physical/OBGYN visit. Dr. Birch provided a holistic, natural treatment plan for me that included dietary/meal plan recommendations, cycle tracking, and Bowen therapy treatments that were specific to our concerns. Within 2 months of seeing Dr. Birch we had a positive pregnancy test (we’re expecting our baby girl in January 2025!) and have continued seeing her throughout our pregnancy for holistic lifestyle plans specific to each trimester/postpartum care. Fantastic experience: To say that IVY Integrative and the amazing humans there have changed my life is an understatement. For close to 2 years, I found myself lost in the traditional medical system, battling chronic symptoms that had stopped me in tracks. I was passed around, misdiagnosed, dismissed, and exhausted from fighting for answers. Coming to IVY as a scared and defeated version of myself, I immediately felt heard, seen, believed and validated. Fantastic experience: I just had a massage with Rizwan and my body felt much better after my treatment. He focused on problem areas (for me: neck/shoulders and sciatica) and he was very knowledgeable. I already have my next session booked with him and I am also looking into other treatments offered, since I prefer a holistic approach. Overall I was pleased with Rizwan and the entire atmosphere at Ivy Integrative.

Fantastic experience: I've been seeing Ashley for only a month for acupunture and I cannot speak highly enough of the practice and Ashley herself! She is so kind, keeps me informed of what's going on, answers my questions and makes me feel heard. The issue I've been seeing her for seems to be subsiding/calming down - after 2+ years of almost no progress I'm thankful for any change at all! Highly recommend for anyone looking for an acupuncturist in Charlotte.

Fantastic experience: Dr Evan Snow has been wonderful!! I went in months ago for lower back pain. I have bulging disc and the pain was getting extreme! I went in and felt some relief with acupuncture pretty immediately but still continued treatment. I was able to get 4 weeks in between a session without pain!!!! Highly highly recommend for anyone who is on the fence or is looking for something more natural like I was!

Fantastic experience: I had my first appointment today at IVY Integrative and had a great experience. I’m 40 weeks pregnant and was receiving services for acupuncture in effort to help my body continue to progress so I can have a natural birth. The woman at the front desk who checked me in was very welcoming and friendly. My provider, Dr Okhotin was incredible! She made me feel very taken care of and comfortable. I left my appointment feeling very relaxed and supported. I already scheduled my second appointment. You’ll be in great hands with Dr Okhotin. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Seeing Dr. Snow for acupuncture has been life. changing. Before seeing him, I lived with knee pain for over 5 years. When asking my PCP about it, I was just told this sort of thing is common and to take Tylenol. I tried all the exercises and stretches, but over the years, nothing really alleviated the pain. I truly settled for the idea that maybe this was just something I had to live with. Until I discovered IVY! And through IVY, my naturopathic doctor, Dr. Boyd (who is also amazing!!), recommended I try out acupuncture with Dr. Snow. I've only had 5 visits with him over the span of a month, and I can already tell there has been a HUGE improvement. He takes the time to listen when checking in with me, and is reassuring and patient with my questions (being an acupuncture first-timer). And most of all: I'm feeling noticeably less pain on a daily basis. On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being the most painful), I would say the pain used to be a 7 or 8, and now it's closer to a 2. A huge improvement when I've had knee pain for >5 years. What an incredible practice and I am so thankful for Dr. Snow and the IVY team! If you've ever thought about acupuncture, this is your sign. Go see Dr. Snow. My only regret is not having done this sooner!

Between the holiday season and running my own business I noticed it had been hindering my ability to focus. Fantastic experience: A few months back, I strained a back muscle which affected my entire left arm to the tips of my fingers. I went to visit Dr. Boyd as I was worried that I had a slipped disc or other damage. I was in EXTREME amounts of pain, couldn’t sleep and had to be on accommodations for work. Dr. Boyd showed me a few stretches I could do on my own while I waited for an appointment with the physical therapist. After being recommended to a great physical therapist and working on deep stretching, the pain I was feeling was now gone. However, I still need to stretch on occasion, as my arm tends to tighten up. My biggest breakthrough after meeting Dr. Boyd, was learning about how all the muscles are connected in the body. Dr. Boyd also introduced me to an E-stem machine which will stimulate your muscles to temporarily ease pain. Dr. Boyd did make it very clear, that this is not just going to go away and this will take about 3 to 4 months to heal. Dr. Boyd was observant, aware and quick to conclude that I had a strained muscle. Dr. Boyd identified what steps I needed to take to ease the pain, what the healing process would be like and what to expect in a few months. I recommend Dr. Boyd as she will give honest and straightforward diagnoses.

Fantastic experience: My daughter was recently diagnosed with Lupus, Sjogren’s, and Reynauds Disease. Almost every morning was a challenge as she was locked up with joint pain in her fingers, arms, and legs. It was very discouraging for her. We consulted with Dr. Boyd about it, and through her own research, she put my daughter on an Omega 3 regimen. This has made great improvements in her movement and she found her symptoms are decreased. To hear her say how much Dr. Boyd’s consult has helped her is greatly encouraging. Sometimes the perception of natural medicine could be a little “woo-woo”, but I love how Dr. Boyd’s scientific background allows her to come from a place of breaking it down by the science of what natural medicine can do. There’s no judgment in her approach and she has a warm bedside manner. I highly recommend Dr. Boyd!

Fantastic experience: I have gone to Dr Marissa Boyd several times with questions about my own health, but also questions about my family’s health that I didn’t understand what was happening to them. I was scared and needed reassurance. After explaining the circumstances, and diagnoses of their issues, she was so kind so reassure me and drew me a picture of what was happening and what their surgery would accomplish. After speaking to Dr. Marissa Boyd she recommended some non-traditional therapies that I had never even considered before, as well as some supplements that made a huge difference for me. Fantastic experience: When I went looking for a naturopathic doctor, I really wanted to find a doctor who was open to out of box thinking when it came to weight loss. I’d been through the gambit of yoyo dieting for almost 50 years, much of it under medical doctors supervision. After I talked with Dr. Marissa Boyd, she suggested we start by doing a food sensitivity study to see what foods might be inhibiting my ability to lose weight and keep it off. Seems so simple but not one time in the almost 50 years of traditional doctoring, did I ever hear that suggestion! Such compassion and non-judgmental time with Dr. Boyd has been a refreshing change from the typical medical appointments that I’ve experienced in the past. She listens, asks questions and listens to my answers! I truly feel she is one of the very best!

Fantastic experience: I reached out to Kathryn very last minute in search of a reflexologist to assist me through my labor process. I was fortunate enough to have the pleasure of her working with me throughout my pregnancy and each session was amazing so I decided to challenge her with taking on my labor process. Fantastic experience: Reflexology with Kathryn is always professional and her safe space is great in helping to feel calm, relaxed, and balanced. I first had her help me for headaches and quickly learned how much reflexology can do for your whole body and wellness. I have even had her help my little boy when he was severely constipated and he went within 2 hours of her working on him. He loved it and always asks for special foot rubs now.

Fantastic experience: If you’re anything like me, you’re thinking of trying Ivy Integrative because you’ve tried all other traditional options without any resolution to your problems. I have to admit that I was skeptical and nervous about coming to Ivy for the first time since all the traditional medical options that I had tried before ultimately didn’t work and only left me more frustrated with few unsatisfying answers. This type of medicine was new and confusing to me. However, when I came to Ivy, Dr. Okhotin listened well, asked engaging questions to establish a wholistic picture of my medical needs, and continued to do so and adjust along the way as she has treated me. I’m still working towards a long term solution with her, but she has been the only doctor to provide some encouraging, lasting benefits to a problem that I feared that I would never recover from. I would highly recommend her and this practice.

Fantastic experience: Ivy Integrative is a very kind and welcoming place. I started working with Dr. Okhotin and I was a bit nervous at first but afterwards she reassured me that she will truly get to the bottom of things which she has. She has been very kind, thoughtful, and understanding throughout the whole process. Mickey the clinic manager is so sweet and informative. If you’re thinking or on edge about booking with them, you definitely should go for it! I did and I’m so glad I did.

Fantastic experience: On a grey late afternoon I had the pleasure of having a Initial Facial Treatment (Non Chemical Peel) for 75 minutes with Bynisha. Her energy is bright and blended with mine. We hit it off right away! I appreciate the natural products used and how she took me on a journey with each layer. Fantastic experience: I got a facial from the esthetician Bynisha, and WOW!!!! When I say my skin has never felt so clean, soft, and rejuvenated that is an understatement!!!! She spent so much time going over my concerns, and we even dived into nutrition. She really really knows her stuff. I feel like she uncovered my real face under all the rough dry skin and acne I was dealing with. I feel SO FRESH! Fantastic experience: A 5-star review here cannot do justice to Cara's work. She is a highly skilled therapist. She was attentive, highly intuitive and effective in reducing my lower back pain (paraspinal muscle injury). Highly recommended!! Details: I was in extreme, constant lower back pain due to a muscle injury (was even starting to get depressed due to this). I had forgotten how my mind and body felt without the pain even while on the pain killers. I was feeling better within 1-2 sessions with Cara and kept with the home exercises and tips she provided. These have helped immensely.

For naturopathy treatments to work, underlying causes of illnesses must be addressed, rather than simply treating a patient’s symptoms. The goal of naturopathic treatment is to address and heal the root causes of an illness, which is different than treating symptoms because it’s intended to be a long-term solution. This is why addressing multiple aspects of a patient’s life is so important since it allows the naturopath to set up a customized treatment plan. SOOOOOOO, go meet Dr. Leander-Birch in downtown Charlotte and at the Family Wellness & Health Center in St. Croix USVI!!!
