Weirton Medical Center - Main Hospital: Reviews
Negative experience: I've been there a half dozen times in past ten years, only because there 3 miles from me...And They continued to get worse sadly ill drive and hour for medical help
Negative experience: The reviews posted say it all. It's very sad that nobody does anything to change this. Maybe it would be nice to put some truth behind.
Negative experience: This is a terrible hospital. First of, it is dirty. Look around!!! Secondly, the nurse are completely undertrained on nurse basics. More than half can not put in an iv or epidermal without several painful attempts. Almost all of nurses on the 4th floor are absolute morons. Abigail is the worst. If you enjoy terrible bed side manners, A dirty hospital or enjoy the sounds of construction at 4am while recovering (because the hospital allows that), then come to weirton medical center. They will make sure to charge your insurance for things they didnt actually do and treat you horribly.
Negative experience: Went here with a sick type one diabetic hoping to be seen a month or so ago, took us seven hours of waiting just for nothing after triage. Left and went to East Liverpool, found out she had Covid the whole time. Horrible place to go in an emergency.
Negative experience: One of your employees made some extremely racist and hateful comments on Facebook. I took screenshots before they were edited and/or deleted. I called and left message for someone to call me back so I could make a formal complaint and know whom to send the screenshots to so this employee can be dealt with. Since nobody has bothered calling me back, I figured I'd show everyone here. Why would you want someone like this representing you?
Negative experience: this place is a joke. my wife was taken there because of abdominal pain, she has been in and out of the hospital for around a month now having different blood work and surgeries. when she came in tonight 10/22/2023 for pain that could be a problem from one of her surgeries they had her waiting in the er from 10 pm to 12:12am before taking her for vitals. i will say ill be more than happy to file a lawsuit for malpractice on this place if something happens.you do not make a patient with those symptoms wait in the er lobby when they show you a chart from WVU with everything that's has gone on with them. IF YOU CANT TAKE CARE OF THEM get there symptoms under control and send them to a hospital that can.
Negative experience: This place is a joke just had gallbladder surgery and am in extreme pain and the want to treat you as if your a druggie for asking for pain meds btw my last pain meds was at 3pm it is now 7:45pm so they no longer want to give me something that is actually gonna help my pain and let me sleep.
Negative experience: I went in for chest pain with my 7-month-old. I'm very intuitive and I could tell the judgmental stairs. I felt the energy was negative they were not very comforting in a time of need or understanding. I really felt like some of them are racist because my son is mixed. I'm also a bigger girl but I shouldn't be felt like I'm being bullied without saying anything.
Negative experience: I sat in the waiting area for 30 minutes with no one else in there. I watched somebody leave in a cab with no shoes on, they couldn’t even give her some socks? That’s really sad.
Negative experience: I have been calling this hospital from my job which is another hospital so I know it shows up on the caller ID. I have been hung up on 4 times in a row. This is a horrible place and should not be open to "care" for anyone.
Fantastic experience: The Emergency room is absolutely amazing I brought my daughter in and the nurse who took care of her was 100% caring, smart, and made sure she was taken care of properly. Thank you
Negative experience: You guys are the worst hospital my grandpa was at your hospital for fpurty eight days and you guys said he was getting better when he was getting worse you guys gave him butt sores you made it where he can't even move nor talk and you made it where we had to transfer him to wvu where the could do nothing for him. You guys gave him and terrible infection where he could no longer fight and wvu could do nothing about it we had to take him home the twenty six and on the twenty seventh he died because of the infection. I HATE YOU GUYS Y'ALL TOOK MY FAVORITE PERSON AWAY FROM ME! YOU GUYS ARE THE WORST. MY GRANDPA WILL HATE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU GUYS FOREVER.
Negative experience: Absolute WORST Hospital EVER!! A JOKE!! Doctors & Nurses Are So RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL!!! SHAME ON YOU WMC!!!
Negative experience: My wife sat in the waiting room of the ED for over 1.5 hours after fainting with a significant GI bleed, was never seen not even a set of vitals taken. Was told there were no beds available. Squad after squad came in and took patients straight back. She is currently getting a blood transfusion at Trinity in Steubenville. What a joke Weirton Medical Center is. Go there if you would like to possibly die.
Negative experience: The absolute worst bedside manner from the doctors I have ever saw in my life.Especially an anesthesiologist named Dr.Dee Unacceptable Behavior
Negative experience: almost everyone seems to be very rude, and dont care much about anyone. almost died because of these people last year. really. terrible place. Dr Bosquet was who gave me questions when arriving from ambulance, while talking to him he was VERY rude and didnt care AT ALL about what i was saying. also it seems to me that they dont check any tests they do on you. i did so many blood tests that they said looked normal until going to a different hospital by ambulance, they told me if i waited another day to go to the hospital i could have died. i cant imagine how my people have suffered because of this place. Dr Christian Bosquet needs fired and so do a lot of the other staff.
Negative experience: Sat for 7 hours to get 4 stitches er didn't care about anything I said.
Negative experience: Terrible hospital told me nothing was wrong with me. I had Lyme disease another time said it was my stomach my heart rate was dropping to 20 I needed a pacemaker. And the billing department has no idea what they are doing
Negative experience: How do you just send someone home with gangrene!! I knew there was issues there but that's a new low! We had my friend there cause her to is going gangrene. They put a Stent in her groin for circulation and gave her ibuprofen saying it couldn't be hurting. No antibiotic, no plans on saving or removing, no plans to send her to Pittsburgh. Just sent her home! Insane. On top of the multiple other people I know they killed. It's just absolutely mind blowing. There's a reason people call them weirton or trinity death center.
Fantastic experience: The care in the ER is fantastic and the professionalism is above and beyond. The 8th floor staff was amazing and professional. The 6st floor staff is amazing and professional. I highly recommend Weirton Medical Centers.
Negative experience: My husband went in with complaints of his chest hurting beginning of Feb. He had fluids on his lungs and they said his heart was working 20% they released him a few days later and set him up for an appointment for a defibrillator he went and and the defibrillator put on still in pain coughing and still feeling horrible. 911 was called on Feb.26th he was having chest pains,he was kept for observation and I have a medical issue and couldn't make it downwe communicated via phone he said they are putting me in ICU because my blood pressure is very low they put him in ICu They put him on pain medication he wasn't making sense I called the nurse station they said the nurse is giving him a bath and was doing fine never mentioned how bad just he was doing good no one said how serious the situation was.Feb.29th my husband passed away .If they couldn't help him why didn't they life flight him.Very disappointed in the communication. If you have a heart condition please seek professional help.
Negative experience: My brother has had a horrible experience at this hospital! One day they say he has pneumonia, and later that day they said he didn't! A lawsuit is in the works!
Negative experience: This place is the worst hospital in the tri-state area. If you don't have the right name. They will not take care of you properly. We called several times about my grandmother, cause she was supposed to get released. They rudely told us that she wasn't. Few hours later my grandma calls crying. Saying she been waiting there for several hours for someone to come get her, and that she just wants to go home. Had the whole family upset!
Negative experience: Horrible ER ever! Staff was so loud, and carrying on at the station that I actually got to know about their life. They used curse words in every sentence. People are sick they don’t want to hear all that loud noise, and talking about other patients so everyone could hear. The Dr. was about 80 and didn’t even give me any solution to one of the reasons I was there. I will never go back there again, and really am considering contacting the medical board how they run that ER.
Negative experience: My father received very poor care in the emergency room from J.H. ( physicians assistant). Poor bedside manner. He did one X-ray to determine his cause of pain. Since it was negative he told him to use a cane, ordered a muscle relaxant and sent him out the door.
Negative experience: Horrible. ER is scary in every way. Care is horrible. The nurses are evil in the ER. Definitely will never go there again.
Negative experience: I would not trust them with the rat in the river to be treated here!!!
Positive experience: ✨Mostly favorable experiences at WMC, which I must frequent often (thankfully, it's nearby to my home in diminutive yet bustling New Cumberland,WV)for both surgeries and medical procedures, as I have various ongoing health challenges. Overall, the doctors, nurses, medtechs, etc. are typically amiable, competent, compassionate, and exude professionalism, as a rule. In fact, my only notable negative experience occurred with a small handful of nurses who were to my dismay impatient, rude, discourteous, and disappointingly unprofessional towards me, when I was in recovery after my 2021 cancer surgery, with blood drains in my neck--as well as being in the throes of formidable nausea and discomfort TBH, I was thrilled to be discharged☺ Nevertheless, I experienced (inexcusably) poor treatment during my post-cancer care, only...All in all, my collective experiences at WMC have been, in short: Fine and dandyHighly recommend to all who read this✨
Positive experience: The wait time is horrible for all departments.
Negative experience: Sat in waiting room (ER) for over 3 hrs and still didn’t get waited on. Won’t be getting a dime out of me. Glad I wasn’t dying
Negative experience: Everyone in the lab is incompetent and a malpractice liability, lost test results galore and WILD times to finish tests. Probably a staffing issue on the side of bad management.
Negative experience: The nurses in this hospital despise their job and make it very clear, very quickly, My wife had to have me get her out of here asap, as she feared for her life. They put her In a room with a covid patient all night and said now we have to test you the next morning, shes still being treated by her PCP trying to fix a leg wound obtained here, I could go on for many lines of text about the incompetents experienced here, don't do it, you have very little recourse once the mistake is made, and they seem to know it. .
Negative experience: Took out receptionists, two workers over a hour wait just for labs and or x rays on 5th floor
Negative experience: This hospital will kill you they don’t care and is very rude people. My mom was diagnosed with pneumonia and fluid on her lungs kept her a week sent her home on water pill she got worse I took her to upmc presbytery hospital in Pittsburgh where she is being very well taking care of Weirton medical should be shut down they don’t even deserve the 1 star I gave them but I to push it to write a review
Negative experience: Below average at best. Do better.
Fantastic experience: Dr. was cocky and had no bedside manner at all. He barely spoke to us and mainly directed everything he said to the nurse. He never even took his hands out of his pockets to examine the patient. Made us feel like we were an inconvenience to him. The nurse, on the other hand, She was AMAZING!! The Dr never returned to our room after initial intake. He never explained anything. he did not give us any test results, any follow-up advice, nothing. Would not accept him as our Dr in the event of a return visit
Negative experience: I was seen last night and I have had severe lower abdominal pains and I had high blood pressure of 150/100 they of course gave me pain medication as a prescription this has been an ongoing medical issue and I have been working with a much better hospital which is UPMC Magee womens hospital!! But last night I didn't have the gas so I went here and it was the worst mistake Staff is very rude the nurses were mean and acting like I wasn't in any pain. Whe. I took my prescriptions to the pharmacy they red flagged it and then the doctor that is there this morning denied my pain meds. After I explained I had an appointment Wendesday and he was giving Me enough to make it until Wednesday but the doctor that is there now denied my meds and now I have to suffer I will be getting in touch with someone about this and will not be going back since they treated me so bad!! I wouldn't send my lizard here!! Worse than Wheeling hospital and Reynolds I wish I could give them a 0 they deserve it!
Negative experience: They didn't even try to run my insurance. I got a $720 bill for a look and a note no tests or anything. To pit this into perspective I payed total put of pocket for a surgery $1480 last year in one of the upstairs offices. I'll be contacting them for an itemized list when I get the chance.
Negative experience: The doctors and nurses were great the two girls at admissions were rude and ignorant after being rude to me they talked pretty ignorant in earshot of my wife who was being treated
Negative experience: Irritated with the visiting hours. I get it but make it make sense that your visiting hours are til 6pm, but on the door and the website it says if you're visiting after 9pm go through ER doors. If I can't go in after 6pm, why am i aloud after 9pm???
Negative experience: The wait is ridiculous I try not to go unless I really have to. I've had severe stomach pain for 24 hours, can't even keep water down, the pain was unbearable so I decided to go. I have been in the ER waiting for hours. They took me to triage and my blood pressure was 160/100 that in itself is an emergency but nope they stuck me right back in the waiting room to wait some more!!
Fantastic experience: My Dad Charles Ross was take. To Weirton Medical Center. The care he received was great! I want to thank the staff in ICU and the 7th floor for such a great work ethic.
Negative experience: My opinion is that it is way understaffed. When Ia patients call light doesn't get answered for over a hour and half, that's way under staffed. Management needs to address matters such as patients and enough staff for the proper care.
Positive experience: They could've been a little more helpful with my daughter after gallbladder surgery on the 7th floor but did not get anything I asked for coming out of recovery and her few days stay NEEDS IMPROVEMENT!!!!Should make any and every patient comfortable.
Negative experience: They charged me for a covid test and dehydration on seperate occasions. Over 1000 dollars and I never even stayed in patient. They took blood tests too without really needing to, told me to go if I wouldn't let them do it. The rude lady couldn't find my vein. Made racist comments about my dark skin. Staff are super rude and nasty, you will wait forever to be seen in the lobby. Don't go to this hospital under any circumstances!
Negative experience: Filthy, doctors do not listen
Fantastic experience: Excellent medical care in the outpatient endoscopy/colonoscopy area. From checkin to discharge, the staff were kind and very considerate. I especially appreciated all the docs/ nurses who provided excellent medical care and were so willing to answer questions. Rapport with patients is so important and I certainly experienced that at WMC.
Negative experience: If I could give negative stars, I would! Horrible patient care! If you want drugs or a bandaid, go to weirton medical center. If you value your own well-being, travel to somewhere else. Horrible experience every single time I've had to go here in my life. Staff is completely incompetent....
Negative experience: Took wife to get seen per medexpress doctors encouragement. She was having a burning sensation on her cheeks and numbness on her lips and tongue after taking an antibiotic. Got told to take benadryl and not to worry unless you feel it on you lips and tongue. She literally just told you that's where she feels it. This on top of the other experiences we've had here I can honestly say we won't be back. I'll drive to Pittsburgh before going here again.
Negative experience: Not the place to have surgery! Not clean or sterile. Heating system blows dust out
Negative experience: I took my daughter there because she had been nonstop vomiting for almost 48 hours. Her PCP called in some medicine but the pharmacy had to order it and it wouldn't be in until the next day. I was getting concerned that she was getting dehydrated and she couldn't even keep down nausea medicine. We got there and there were maybe 5 patients in the waiting area. There was another patient there that had been there an hour longer...same symptoms. Every time someone came in, it seemed like they took them first. We finally got called into triage about an hour later and there were 2 ladies in there. One was on the computer and the other was taking the vitals. The one on the computer seemed very nice. The one taking the vitals...total opposite. I've never heard someone yell at someone without raising their voice but she did. She kept snapping at my daughter when she asked her to do things. We were sent back out to the waiting room to wait for a room. The next patient was accompanied by a police officer parent. Let's just say the triage nurse's attitude totally changed. I guess she knew them and was super friendly and all smiles. If you hate your job...leave. We waiting another couple hours and never got called. By this time the waiting room was packed. The other patient that was also vomiting was still there. We ended up leaving. I'll never go back. I should've taken her to St. Clair like I was going to but Weirton was closer. Next time I know better.
Negative experience: WMC ER IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!! My dad came in by ambulance I came in to th ER after the ambulance had already dropped him off the girl at the window was more concerned with her manicure than she was with finding out where my dad was.
Negative experience: What a joke, this place should not be open. Have never heard a single good thing about the way they treat patients. Staff is unbelievably rude and inconsiderate. Dont want you visiting even if your family is on their death bed. Went in for surgery once, they put me in a wheel chair and wheeled me into a corner and left me there for 2+ hours. The ER has extreamly long wait times, even if there is no one in the waiting room. I could get stabbed in the lobby of this hospital and would still leave to go somewhere else. Trust me, it's not worth it.
Negative experience: Most unprofessional ER staff i've ever encountered. They were more concerned about having a social hour then treating patients. Staff was loud and very obnoxious. Oh, and for pushing the covid agenda, they were not concerned about wearing masks.
Positive experience: Treated very well except for one dr in the er... which has a horrible bedside manner. I can't remember his name but he is African American. So glad my ocp told me it's my right to ask for another dr there. Everyone else has treated me well these past few months, since March I've been having bad problems with my high blood pressure. THEN I Had a suprise seizure. DR Lobas was HORRIBLE! I ended up kicking him out of my room! My pcp wasn't happy with him and dr lobas was also extremely rude yo another person with dementia! The family also complained the same time! WMC please revike Lobas from seeing your patients...he's ignorant. And lucky i didn't feel well!
Negative experience: I could go on for how bad this place is for patients care. I have seen a bunch of things that the staff don't want to work. Takes a couple hour to answer call button to being told wrong diagnoses.
Negative experience: Worst experience ever.. the nurse on 8 are rude and nasty and talk about you when they think you cant hear. They do not pay attention to their patience.
Positive experience: I was injured on Tuesday I went to the emergency room I sat an emergency room for less than 5 minutes I was taken back into the triage area & was given a CAT scan on my head several x-rays on my leg and they addressed my injuries. I arrived at 12:15 and on my way home by 2:30. I realize that sometimes you can't get service exactly when you want but I am very happy with the quality of the care that I received and the quickness. I had very severe injuries and the care that I got I believe was top notch. it's very easy to get on here and complain but I'm not going to complain I'm going to congratulate them on a job well done and when I needed them they were there. God bless every one of you that work there
Negative experience: Out Patient blood draw was horrible took three tries she kept moving the needle around saying 'I know it’s there' two weeks later and my arms are still bruised
Fantastic experience: I had a recent heart cath there . Top notch care , No complaints
Negative experience: The emergency room is a joke!! My daughter (23) went in with complaints of breathing. She spent 8 +hours there. 2 of those hours were in the waiting room!!!! Before anyone says she should've went to her pcp. She did in fact go but was sent to the er because of trouble breathing. Another time I spent 4 hours there with my elderly father!! Again over 2 hours in the er!! I'll be going to Trinity in Steubenville for now on!!
Negative experience: At 7:15 this morning I took my husband to the ER in Weirton due to a rupture of his belly button and a possible hernia rupture. He's in so much pain, he'sin tears. There were NO cars in the parking lot and not one person in the waiting room. We waited 15 minutes for the triage nurse (Theresa) who was very rude and snapped at me upon telling her my husband had new insurance. At 10 am we were still waiting in the lobby. They brought an elderly lady in by ambulance, who was then wheeled into the lobby to wait. At 10:15 with a packed lobby and we still hadn't been called back to be seen, we left. This is totally uncalled for. We will be going to another ER, if this turns out to be something serious, Weirton Hospital will be talking to my attorney.
Negative experience: Went there in extreme pain and discomfort from back pain and pinched nerve, numb fingers. Dr Bosquet did absolutely nothing for me, I returned home still in discomfort and pain. Wasted my time, and insurance. I wish I could have my insurance stop payment for lousy services rendered. I will never visit another hospital in this Ohio valley ever again, they don’t deserve one penny from my insurance that I work hard to have. Off to Pittsburgh to see a real Doctor.
Negative experience: This hospital is a joke any more. Not saying it all staff but total disrespect tords patients is not AcceptableI will not go back to this Hospital. Went in to have my knee drained and the Dr was vary rude. Don't like being talked to in that manner Specially after sitting there as long as I did. One of the staff had to call to find out why it was taking so long. This hospital needs some new staff some of these Dr need replaced.
Fantastic experience: I came in last night with a neck injury from totaling my car, I sat in the waiting room for maybe 5minutes before I was in a room getting a ct scan and X-rays. Excellent service!
Negative experience: ER is a joke. Never get the help you need and the traveling doctors are horrible!! No bedside manners and they just don't care. Deserves negative stars!!!!
Negative experience: Have been sitting in their emergency room for 5 hours and still waiting I'm here with my best friend she is in severe pain she is a cancer patient and they dont even seem to care
Fantastic experience: Best hospital in the Steubenville-Weirton area! I highly recommend this place!
Negative experience: My mom took a hard fall and she gad to go to the er. She was in a lot of pain and they made her wait in the waiting room for 2 hours.
Fantastic experience: I had outpatient surgery at Weirton Medical Center today and I found it to be a very positive experience. I have had surgeries in several other hospitals and this hospital is far and above cleanliness friendliness and they took such good care of me. I would highly recommend this Hospital
Negative experience: I just spent nearly 4 hours in the waiting room to be seen for excruciating abdominal pain. Patients that were here after me went in before me. I preferred this hospital because it's where i had my child but wow...
Negative experience: No staff in the blood lad, main desk operator has no idea if the org structure or who is in charge, oozing incompetence. If they cant handle basic service how can anyone trust anything else they do.
Negative experience: Unacceptable, have been waiting for 6 hours and still waiting. I understand triage but they must not. Not very many people getting moved around, short staffed is no excuse for the wait times. Will not come back here unless Trinity closes. Should have just driven to Allegheny General Hospital.
Positive experience: To many people,a little on the chilly side. Employees were polite and helpful.
Negative experience: First time there this weekend. This place is a joke. I called a complaint. From the get they were nasty they were calling people back that came after us only cause they were cussing an carring on. 7 hours later was told we shouldn't have went to er the test were never explained I went off they gave me half info. Dr Monday stated from they test it was serious they should have been in hospital incase something happened. They all need to be fired
Positive experience: Staff at the Atrium Cafe are rude and short with you, I have been here a few times and I don't Like going there because of the how they treat me.
Negative experience: my son went to ER on Friday than on Sunday morning he left Than 6 hours later he is in ICU at Trinity the ER Doctor at Weirton was a good doctor once he was admitted in no one would help him Shame on you Weirton medical
Fantastic experience: My mother had a two day visit and she was very please with the Doctors and staff they were great!
Negative experience: Missed diagnosis several times. Go somewhere else. Doctors arrogant
Negative experience: Is there anything worse than 1 star? The doctors are atrocious and speak down to you. They don't take patients or family members seriously. They have different policies for different people depending on appearance. WMC did not sanitize or clean anything in the waiting room the entire 3 hours we were there. Nurses joking about lack of charting and talking about lost blood work. (Which has happened to my family in this ER previously, so it's an ongoing issue) I have completely lost confidence in any care received at this ER although none was actually administered. I had to take my family member to another facility to actually be taken seriously and get results. I'm surprised WMC hasn't been sued and shut down. Shame on you WMC.
Negative experience: HORRIBLE experience I brought my son to er with a 104.7 fever he passed out noone would help me NOT even get a wheel chair to load go to children's hospital BUT thank God for people in the waiting room they helped grab wet paper towels for him!! Shame on weirton!!
Fantastic experience: The staff is wonderful, they treat you with Respect. 1luv
Negative experience: I didn’t stay here. I called for an update on a relative battling COVID—19 and someone answered my call laughing, placed me on hold and when he came back on the line, he continued to laugh while passing the phone to someone who said the words “you need to call his daughter. He passed away.” When I said “oh. Um, thank you,” she rudely stated “k, bye.” I understand the stress this is causing and that it is impacting more than just my family, but no one should ever receive news that way, nor should they be treated like another number in line on the COVID train. Get some sensitivity training.
Negative experience: The covid “restriction” are a joke. Can’t sit in the OBGY office with the girl I live with or sit at a table by myself but they can pack the elevator like a can of sardines with over 10 people
Negative experience: I would rather die at home then trust this hospital. The nurses aren’t compassionate, they don’t tend to their patients correctly and the doctors just want to discharge quickly before the patient is well enough. They’ve handled Covid terribly and need to be retrained on how to handle crisis’. Inexcusable behavior I’ve experienced first hand.
Negative experience: Honestly the worst hospital I’ve ever been too. The staff, nurses, & the doctors are extremely rude. This was an experience I’ve have once, or twice, or even three times. I can count 6 on the top of my head. I’m writing this because, I went to Trinity Hospital (in Steubenville) finally, honestly the reason I haven’t went before is because I wasn’t used to trinity, I didn’t know where to go or how to go through the processes like I do at WMC. LET ME TELL YOU, the little confusion I had was so very well worth it. The security guards, the staff, the doctors, and the nurses were all so nice, also they were very empathetic to my situation. I can’t stress it enough how much this changed my whole outlook on hospital experience. I would never go to the hospital for every reason I needed to, only the most serious problems (while pregnant) because I was forced to check on my health. Thinking about even how I was treated at WMC while I was having my daughter, makes me want to cry. That was my first and only baby, and they made the whole beginning on it very sour with their attitudes, and smart mouths. IF YOU TOOK THE TIME TO READ THIS, AND YOU WERE IN THE SAME PREDICAMENTS OR SIMILAR AS I WAS WITH WITH WMC PLEASE RETHINK GOING HERE. YOU DO HAVE TRINITY WHICH IS ABOUT 10 MINUTES AWAY. I promise it’s worth it!!
Negative experience: If you have any other choices....... go there We were there 2 days in a row. After waiting over an hour for discharge papers my wife just decided to remove her own IV. Just to learn the paperwork had been sitting on the counter. The nursing staff was too worried about their own dinner. Do better
Negative experience: If you have a serious injury and need to go to the ER be prepared to get a second opinion... tore my Achilles tendon and was told it was a sprained ankle and to just ice and take tylenol... second opinion two days later and not only was I diagnosed correctly in PA but surgery the following day.
Negative experience: I called the gift shop Thursday morning to order flowers for my mom. The lady was really nice and told me the ones she had didnt look the best and if I could call back at 3 cause she was getting fresh ones in . So I called and placed my order a little after 3 . My mom received the flowers and they were really pretty . Friday evening my mom told me they were dying already and this morning (Saturday) they r completely dead . I tried to call the gift shop to tell them so they can see for themselves but they r closed the weekend . I wish I could post the pics so you could see how awful they look but it dont seem theres a place to upload them . Flowers aren't cheap so kinda disappointed they only lasted about a day
Fantastic experience: Most of the staff is very friendly.
Fantastic experience: Last Sunday my daughter was in Labor and at the same time I was fighting a nasty kidney infection fever the whole nine yards! The ER department got me in and out super quick! They all worked together like a top and had me back at her side in less than an hour. Even called me later that eveing to ask how my daughter was progressing and to tell me my tests were normal. So in closing I experienced top notch care and service at WMC.
Fantastic experience: good bedside manner. got me in there and put in 4 hours with a diagnosis.
Negative experience: The worst service ever. Went to the ER @8pm for a ️ bite. Was admitted to the hospital it took them till 11pm to get me to a room then I didn't get my meds that I take on a daily basis until 3am. Then they did nothing about the pain until 4:30am. That's 9 hours in pain where as if I where at home I could have taken a couple of Tylenol. This place is the worst service. Push the nurse call button and wait 1hr till the nurse finally came. and also seems like the doctor talks to another doctor and the doctor don't talk to the nurses. The doctors don't know how to read a chart. Nobody talks to anybody
Fantastic experience: Recommend their emergency room rather than that med express. Weirton Medical Center always sees me in a timely manner and the staff are very professional.
Fantastic experience: My time I spent here was wonderful. I had surgery on August 13. The same day surgery nurse was so friendly and nice. I can't remember her name but she help me get comfortable and got me all prepped for surgery with outstanding Dr Gilman. Due to the procedure I got admitted on the 7th floor. My first amazing nurse was Martha. Being in so much pain she did everything she could possibly do to make me comfortable. She was very nice and understanding. Very respectful and caring. Then I had Dale as my night shift nurse. Dale was beyond amazing. He was such a sweetheart to me and my family. Dale made sure I stayed comfortable. I ended up having a little personal depressed meltdown regarding my other two daughter not being there. Dale sat and talked to me as a friend. Most important thing he just listen. I apologized to Dale several of times about raising my voice. He told me I didn need to apologize, he had a short talk with me about what was happening and helped me calm down and relax. It was very nice of him to do so. Most nurses would just tell you to be quiet and not even care what was upsetting you. Not Dale , he cared! Dale is an outstanding nurse. He goes over and beyond to make sure his patients are comfortable. I'm woke up the next morning and needed some nausea medicine. That's when I met my third awesome nurse Lindy. She was so sweet and caring. I asked for nausea medicine and she was right on top of it. Not only did she bring my nausea medicine she also brought my pain medicine. You can tell she thought outside of the box and was right on top of things. Lindy stood in here talking to me as a friend and not just a patient. She understood alot of how I was feeling. Which is always nice to know someone else know how you feel. Lindy got me up walking the halls or just sitting in the waiting area. My experience here has been wonderful thanks to the three outstanding nurses I had. Even the aides were great. I can't remember all their names but they all deserve to be acknowledged for the awesome jobs they do. Not only did they make sure I was comfortable and everything, they also made sure my family was comfortable too. Dale was one of the best nurses I've ever met let alone had. I would highly recommend that people come to weirton medical if they needed to be treated. My opinion this hospital and staff is so much better than Trinity. I have been coming here for awhile and only had one bad experience and that was through zone 2 with the young nurse practitioner and an older nurse aid. Very rude and unprofessional. I truly feel that Martha , Dale and Lindy should be recognized for being outstanding nurses. I am blessed I had them as my nurses . Look forward to see them shine!! Once again a big huge THANK YOU to you three for all the hard work you do and for all the support you gave me and my family. I am super blessed I had nurses like you guys. Once again THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YALL DONE FOR ME AND MY FAMILY.
Negative experience: I'm scheduled for outpatient tests on Monday July 29th, and they are already asking for money. I've never been there and dont plan on going. I tried to explain cautionary measures needing to be addressed before tests but they were more concerned about money. Thats enough for me
Positive experience: I will say that several nurses on the 5th floor we're great!! Danielle, Rick, Nicole, Bob( even though he invades personal space), cafeteria ladies, Thank you all for making my stay as pleasant as possible! Dr Gupta was terrific! Foods not great but it's a hospital, not home so it is what it is.
Negative experience: Four hours in ER waiting room.
Negative experience: Awful ER. Sticking with hospitals in PA for now on. Over a hour wait and was not diagnosed properly. Very slow. No sense of urgency regardless of symptoms. -10 for rating. Waiting room has no tissues and no tissues in the room for those with illnesses.
Fantastic experience: I went to the ER a few days ago as a lot was going on with me. Everyone was nice and caring. I didn't have to wait forever. They figured out what was wrong, gave me some prescriptions and sent me home .I'm feeling much better thanks to them .
