Positive experience: Not bad for a small neighborhood place. I used the 5 day free trial and ultimately ended up signing up elsewhere but the experience here wasn’t bad. Some of the equipment is a bit dated, the barbells have way too much spin for anyone who benches relatively heavy. Good amenities other than that, nice locker room, you can tell management cares and addresses concerns for the most part. I never got a formal quote for a membership but it’s one of those gyms where for the right price I’d be willing to overlook the minor shortcomings

Negative experience: I am not sure what is the reason behind not disclosing membership prices unless you go to the facility.
We accept a number of different medical insurances that provide a free gym membership, such as Health Partners, KeystoneFirst, United HealthCare plus many other. Our goal is to help our potential new members save money so if their insurance covers the gym membership, we want to let them know. Plus, we want you to see the gym to make sure we meet your needs, and you are comfortable here. At that time, we can answer all your questions even about price if you don't have a qualified insurance.
Negative experience: Was looking for a gym and I spotted this one. The gym looks great! But honestly I dodged a bullet by not signing up wouldn't want to meet Gums ngl. The reviews really say it all and the replies just add gasoline to the fire. Overall the gym looks like its ran by miserable tyrants.
Negative experience: Never again will I come to this gym. Got harassed by an assistant manager because I walked away from the weights for 2 seconds to get a paper towel to clean the weights saying I need to put the weights back. I told him I was getting a paper towel to clean the weights off and he proceeded to keep telling me how I need to put the weights back and implied that I was I was giving him a attitude and this is a peaceful place. I put the weights back to continue my workout “in peace” he continued to come up to me to ask my name to report me to the front. Also stated “what do you think I want you nobody wants you” I had my headphones on and was trying to just workout in peace. He proceeded to keep asking my name I went to the front and got my things and left. This is not how you treat customers. If I could give no stars I would.

Fantastic experience: Great gym
Negative experience: I called to ask if they had a sauna and they told me they couldn't give that information over the phone. Obviously, if I'm calling to ask about the sauna, it's because I'm only interested in knowing that... what knowledge of the gym does the person who answers the phone have? It seems to me that they are not informed about the gym.
It is understandable that he expected a direct response when he called to inquire about the sauna. Ideally, the gym staff should provide useful information, especially about facilities like the sauna. Let’s address his concerns and see how we can assist him.
Positive experience: One thing is: The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Overall the gym is old but clean. Decent for a neighborhood gym but at $35 + for that price you can go somewhere that offers different locations and more amenities. This is a nice spot if you live or work around the corner.

Negative experience: Terrible and lack of information at the time of registration. It turns out that today I canceled my contract for personal reasons and now, apart from the $50 I paid at the beginning, they are telling me that I have to pay an additional $50 to cancel. This is something they don’t explain to you.
Allan, I apologize for any misunderstanding when you initially signed up. The money you deposited when you enrolled was only your registration fee; it did not include your monthly dues that we charge one month later for the previous month. Furthermore, with your membership, we made it clear that you must notify us 30 days in advance to cancel. We even have a separate sheet that explains the rule you signed so there would be no misunderstandings. Unfortunately, in your case, we did not do a complete job, and that is the reason for the misunderstanding. Once again, I apologize.

Fantastic experience: This gym is a great place. You can work out and then relax by the pool, sauna, or jacuzzi. The staff always tries to accommodate you. They are very friendly. Hours are flexible, and there's no wait time to get on equipment.

Fantastic experience: My family and I signed up today and boy I wish I remember the guys name who signed us up and gave us a tour, because he was soo welcoming and nice and addressed all our needs. I know he had glasses and curly hair lol but the customer service he provided and how he explained everything was very good. The gym looked very clean. We all can't wait to start.

Negative experience: Telling people that they can’t wear water proof shirts in the pool is not cool at all, they don’t know people’s condition or if others don’t feel comfortable not wearing a shirt, the reason for certain swimming shirts is not only for the sun but for people who feels comfortable with it on, but what bothers me the most is that they said they can’t tell the difference between a regular shirt and a swimming shirt, any fool knows the differences and if your in the pool business you should know better it’s only common sense to know the difference.. they tell me there not a police shirt person, that can’t monitor that, dude really that was smart but how about you learn the difference and teach your staff the difference. Just saying
One of my jobs is to maintain water quality and balance of the pool and to do what is best for the most members possible. I understand your disagreement and your difference of opinion, you would do things differently. It's ok to disagree. Even in disagreement all we ask is for our members to enjoy themselves and follow the rules.

Negative experience: This gym is not what it once was. The owner completely horrible fraud. Pretends to be something she ain't and if it's her responding to these reviews she should fire herself. In my life I'd never seen any owner get in any of the customers business on what they should or should not do. That's how you lose business and hopefully this place falls for being so nasty to its customers.

Positive experience: Seen on freebie page that membership can be free for certain health insurance. So of course I came to check out the reviews. The fact that the owner/manager engages with so many of the bad reviews makes it believable about horrible ser/experiences. My big athletic family will stick to the gyms we pay for rather than taking the chances here.

Positive experience: Could of been better if the ethics can improved. My first day signing up the salesman was pressuring my dad on a wheel chair disability, hoping to use swimming as a aquatic therapy but still indecisive, but he had to wait Medicare to approved, so he smooth talked his way. we paid for the membership and activation fee ( maybe $70-100), next day , dad did not want to use the pool because of mental illness, but you cannot get the refund back anymore, so it was a waste of month and activation fee, rather it could have been a free trial period. I was planning not to write this, but today my little brother who has also a mental illness, was yell at for not wearing flippers at the time to go to the pool, technically they are right by policy. But reading the negative reviews here, about a certain female manager i will have to agree with them. I guess i will give LA fitness a try.

Fantastic experience: This gym has been slept on by many! I’ve been coming here for over 7years and counting. My family has been here for over 14 years. I never find myself waiting on any machines. Everyone’s focused and polite. I love the staff… especially Michelle Capparell. She’s a true beauty & beast. She has an amazing step class that will tone up your body while having fun! She also ends her classes w/ stretching and meditation. As a business women I find that important to me, because once I leave from the gym I’m back to business and raising my family. If you need motion JOIN! I like to say this is a family oriented gym because believe or not I met ppl years ago at Juniata fitness and see them consistently at the gym. Health is wealth. Anyways this told me I know we take your insurance but please go some place else!, I rather pay planet fitness or someplace else. Never mind!

Negative experience: I don’t ever do the reviews. But I feel like I have to after what I witnessed last night. A member was talking to the owner about taking a water bottle into the pool area. Than out of no where comes the “manager” which no one likes already cause of her attitude. In the weight room we call her gums. Anyway. She jumps into the convo and starts bashing this guy and the owner just sat there and watched her. As if he is afraid of her. Staff here has always been bad but this is just wrong. I may be looking into changing gyms after that.

Negative experience: This place is not bad when u first walk in. But once you meet the manager. You will never return. She pretends to be nice but she is anything but nice. The staff there is very poor but going off the fact the the manager is who she is they reflect off of her. I watched her argue and fight with a customer last night as the owner of the gym watched with his mouth shut. A business is only as good as it’s staff. I will be relocating gyms after what I saw last night.

Negative experience: The staff here are horrible. They are nice to you only when signing up. After that they treat you like they want to fight. They don’t greet you at the door. They walk past you as if your disgusting. This place needs a make over of staff. Like asap.

Naturally they won't blame themselves, so who do they blame, management for not getting their way. Fantastic experience: This place is amazing, one of the few gyms that handled the pandemic well. Pool, locker room are off limits for now but should be back during summer or after. Staff is great, trainers are great. I’ve only noticed a machine or two that needed maintenance but overall great gym. (Edit : locker rooms are back open and pools being worked on. Face mask requirement is gone if you have been vaccinated.)

I mean its not possible that everyone else is wrong everytime shes always the constant factor. Mb it is a great gym but im not sure i want to deal w a place that has had that many neg.coments about management

Fantastic experience: Michelle has been awesome and welcoming to the gym all the time. Jess as a Zumba Instructor gives me a productive workout and she is fun/energetic. I mostly go to the gym for Jess’ classes. Had my first Yoga class there last night and I can’t wait to go to the workshop later in the month. I hope they add Yoga classes at night again.

Lakisha, I'm sure when you enrolled you were given a schedule of our childcare days (Monday thru Saturday) and the hours. However, on Sunday when you came in there are no childcare hours. For the child's safety we do not allow any child on the gym floor when there are no childcare hours. I hope this make sense, and hopefully we'll see back at the gym.
Negative experience: I wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone. The first time I went to the gym there was an issue with the staff. They have rules that only apply to certain kind of people and the Manager is a liar. She states that you aren't allowed to get in the pool with street wear yet I was kicked out of the pool for having a swim top that goes with my bathing suit. Then I was terminated for sitting on the side of the pool to watch my young kids who were swimming. She claims that me sitting on the side of the pool meant that I was in the pool, so if i was you I would stick to Planet Fitness.

Fantastic experience: Juniata fitness has been my escape, i havent had any complaints or problems since i started my membership here, Yesterday there was a misunderstanding when family time starts. The young lady Michelle was helpful and also told me about all the activities they do for the children at the gym, which is important to me since im a single mother. Edward that work the pool was extremely helpful watching my son as i changed, which im sure he doesnt have to do, but it was very much appreciated . I would recommend this gym to others.

Fantastic experience: Friendly place
Negative experience: This would be a great gym but the manager Maddie is so rude and unprofessional. The gym has a hugh turnover rate with keeping a good staff and this manager is the reason why. She's ridding those lifetime memberships of members who's contacts were only $120 a year. The equipment is so outdated and never kept cleaned, also half of the cardio machines are always broken. The ladies locker room is left nasty and not kept sanitized. This room should always be maintained and kept sanitized. The toilets are left with waste in them by some members and their children. Young boys ages 5-8 yrs old are allowed in the ladies locker room/bath room while gym members are taking showers. You have no privacy in this area and the gym managers disregards complaints on this manner. I advise you to find a gym that really care for their members and responds to members complaints. My reply back to the manager Maddie, first of all my membership was cancelled 2.5 yrs ago it hasn't been 3 yrs yet. Second thing is, that everything single thing Im speaking on is NOTHING BUT TRUTH, no false reporting here. Maddie is a low rated manager. My membership was 18 yrs strong. So the many times I've watched you and the owner enter that boiler room closet as I sat in the hot tub, and when you both came out together, both of you were adjusting your clothes. Not false reporting of that type of gym activities hoing on in there. I know how small and enclosed that closet is....SMDH. The manager has no coof just plain nasty.

Fantastic experience: Anybody that considers Planet Fitness a gym, obviously don't know what a gym is. This is a local family oriented gym with overwhelmingly kind staff. Sometimes too kind. I've been going to this gym for a year now, and my experience with the gym gets better each day. The members here are great people as well. If you need advice or suggestions on a workout, there are countless numbers of people willing to answer your question. The gym is also well equipped, with free weights, smith machines, cardio room, swimming pool, and sauna. There is no better gym within the area!
Negative experience: I signed up online for a 5 day trial Saturday March 3rd.From the moment I signed up I knew there was a problem. The Spanish guy at the front desk seemed annoyed when I asked which hall to take to find the weight room. I believe his exact words were, "what, do you need a tour or something?". The trainer or whoever he was walked into the workout area 15 minimum later and started screaming at the top of his lungs that we all had better put our weights back. Two days later I decided to take my friend over there to see what he thought of the place and that's when I had enough. The older lady at the desk was extremely rude and accused me of having a fraudulent trial pass. It was embarrassing and unprofessional so after she took my pass and identification for the third time we left back out. I would not recommend this gym to anyone that can get to another gym, park, track or lot to work out on their own.

Negative experience: I think I already regret signing up, they didn't tell me until after the renovation and they open very late some days.

Fantastic experience: I've been coming every other day since I signed up. The staff and environment is great! There's plenty to do other than working out like Zumba and tyquando !

Positive experience: I love this gym..all the machines are in good conditios, The sauna, the pool everything is good...The problem is they have to fix the bussiness hours..they open toó late at 9:30 al and close too early...it will be better if open from 6 am to 12:00 am
Negative experience: Hi im the cousin of lazaro i warned my cousin about this gym . And yes the manger is very rude i came here around mid march and was hoping to have a welcoming experience however i did not receive that kind of welcome, the members where really stuck up and the manger was really rude it made me feel uncomfortable esp when she was breathing down her employees back i could only imagine how the employees must felt working in this inviroment and with her i never wrote a review before but when my cusouin told me about his experience and the very unprofessional response he got from his review. i felt as though it was my job to let everyone know about this gym i didnt like her mood and the feeling she gave off to others including myself she was very unprofessional i do not recommend this gym which is why left this "4.6" star gym and went to war horse gym which is a 5 star gym and is very nice .for anyone considering this gym i would like u to also consider war horse gym i have had a very good experience here and the equipment is incredible.
Positive experience: The gym is ok. The hours are a bit weird, especially on the weekends. The gym itself is cramped, but it gets the job done. I do have to say the staff is pretty friendly for the most part.
Negative experience: I had a 3 day free pass to this gym, and in my experience visiting this gym, I had an unfriendly encounter with members, and the manager that's currently works for this gym (Very unfriendly). I wouldn't recommend this gym. My attention were to become a member (despite the rudeness of the members), but when the manager (Maddie) attitude sends a very bad vibe in a place that your suppose to feel at ease, I think I'm just going to pass. SNS! Oh they can definitely use an upgrade and wipe down there machines more frequently not very good with sanitation.
Lazaro, guest can only use one 3 day pass for 3 straight days, however you wanted to use another one after the first one expired, and was politely told you couldn't. Since you don't like our rules and policies you copped an attitude and left. Just to let you know we have very happy members here just look at our 4.6 rating on FB.
