Negative experience: The owner is not nice at all and isn’t understanding. She only cares about money. Some front desk workers are rude. Be prepared to possibly get kicked out for no reason at all. The place is a drama filled environment with a bunch of kids. Would give 0 stars if I could. I don’t recommend this gym at all.

Not sure who you are referring to. Spence is a retired police officer and member who recently retired and moved from NY. No one is creepy that replaced him or took over for him.

Hi Karla not all 3 are broken, two small plastic handles are broken as of today and last week were ordered. They are not at home depot or lowes they are special order. So hopefully the two handles will be in this week. We could easily have addressed this if you came to the front desk which I believe you did and management would have let you know. update: parts came in this morning and shower handle is fixed 12.10
Fantastic experience: Great gym, pretty big space, love the art work and super friendly staff. So many machines, maybe almost too many in some spots. Great stretching spaces, astroturf, posing room, personal trainer. I keep hearing about this Anthony guy, must be a great trainer. They sell supplements at the place and have a food/snack place right next door. Lots of fit people at the place, it’s inspiring.

Fantastic experience: I pay $29 a month by using Blue Cross Blue Shield’s fitness discount program (Fitness Your Way/Tivity Health). I love working out at Pro—Fit because it is open 24 hours, people re-rack their weights and malfunctioning equipment is promptly fixed. I use Pro-Fit’s app to check in and to log my workouts. Their app has a Leaderboard, which ranks my workout performance compared to other Pro-Fit members. The competition motivates me to work out consistently, and my health is better because of it. My primary care doctor is now pleased with body weight and blood test results. I highly recommend Pro-Fit.
Negative experience: Ridiculous policy. I missed a payment and I wasn't allowed to enter gym (understandably) as I waited to fix my account it took a couple months (never went to gym) I got charged almost 280 dollars randomly. They say they ran card for the 3 payments I missed, when I explained that I wasn't allowed to enter gym so why would I be charged for those months they offered me like $50 bucks back. I would've understood a late penalty to restart my account or something, I get it. But they took 2 additional months payment while I wasn't allowed to use gym. Definitely be careful of this gym and your card.
Negative experience: Do not sign up for this gym! I wish I could give a lower review. They have you sign up for classes, without ever providing a copy of the agreement. The women staff at the front door are horrible and the gym smells.
Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this gym! I had dropped in a few times to workout but had been hesitant to join because I had so many friends at my old gym. In January I finally made the jump over to Pro-fit and I haven’t looked back. This gym has all different kinds of machines, some I’ve never seen before. Nothing is in disrepair and if it is, it gets fixed fairly promptly. The dumbbells are put back n their proper spot always. I can spend hours here and never run out of things to do. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, from the front desk and trainers, to the people that keep our gym clean. Can’t say enough good things about this gym!
Fantastic experience: I must say, after all the gyms I have been too this is a REAL DEAL GYM. The atmosphere and the staff are second to none, especially MJ and Samantha, always positive and happy vibes and always extremely helpful, love it here.
Negative experience: I tried to call the owner a few times regarding some concerns that I had, however they did not pick up nor return my phone calls at all. They don't seem to care as much as they claim to, and I'm genuinely disgusted by their lack of service. Don't come here, save your money!
Sorry Brie for your disgust. No messages as of Friday 4.5 were left to call anyone back so if you left a message today it was probably not passed on yet. The owner always calls members back. If the owner is not available, the managers are able to assist you. Actually I think we did get a phone call early this morning demanding you must speak to the owner and you refused to leave your name and phone number. The owner is not at the Deer Park location gym today. So call the gym now and please leave name and number and I will make sure she gets the message.
Negative experience: If you sign an agreement with them, they will continue to charge you after you cancel. If you don't have a card they can use, they will send you to collections for a membership you already cancelled. Dishonest business.

I’ve gone to the gym on Easter. Thanksgiving. Christmas!!! They really provide a great atmosphere for all levels of fitness and they really make you feel like family. New machines are constantly being added and the place is spotless. From weight training and boxing to spin classes 1 on 1 coaching. This gym has it all. If you want the best gym experience you’ll probably ever have, start off 2024 by checking Pro-fit gym out.

Negative experience: I have gone to this gym for a long time and have loved it. A few issues here and there, but great gym overall. HOWEVER, I only have been going here because it has historically been 24/7. When you work a rotating shift schedule, it's ideal to go in whenever you want. Well, they are NO LONGER 24/7, despite their misleading logo (you should change it). It was supposed to be temporary summer hours, but NOPE. They close Saturday night and don't open up until early/mid-Sunday morning permanently. I'm literally in the parking lot waiting in my car like 20 other people right now for them to open doors. Then I have to rush to workout before i have to run to work. This is not ideal. They were one of the last gyms here to be 24/7. It was the one thing they had over everyone else. It looks like Off the Chain Underground, Outfit Athletics, and XSport Fitness are 24/7 for anyone who needs to switch to a 24/7 gym.
Hi we close at 11pm on Saturday and reopen typically before 6am Sunday it's only 7 hours in a week. My staff Sunday morning is always there early. As for Saturday overnight we have not found a staff member that wants to work the overnight. During this time until we find a trusted reliable individual we will stay closed for the 7 hours which is really not that much considering we are open 6 nights overnight. It's surprising how our loyal members don't come to us personally to discuss but give us a bad review without the facts. Our logo does not state 24/7 but only 24 hours. Xsport is a Corp gym we a locally owned business that's why people choose us. When we find the right staffing we will be open again 24/7. UPDATE WE HAVE BEEN OPEN 24 HOURS ON WEEKENDS SINCE MID DECEMBER.
Fantastic experience: I signed up yesterday and had an amazing workout I love the machines and energy. Come in workout and go home.
Negative experience: Honest review, I’ve came in for a day pass plenty of times and things pretty much always go the same way. The way this gym is run is horrendous the owner bends the rules for certain people. Only people they allow to are able to take off their shirts in the gym without a complaint. but if you don’t have an “in” with the staff/owner you will be threatened with having your membership revoked. as well as the upstairs room which no one is allowed to use to take pictures in unless you have permission from the owner themself which isn’t quite fair if the room is available it should be available to everyone. keep in mind you can’t walk around the gym without a camera or a tripod in your face half of the time. The staff isn’t exactly rude but more like very blunt and not very friendly at all especially the older woman at the desk who I think might be a supervisor The tall blonde kid and the short blonde girl were always very friendly.

Negative experience: My membership was revoked because I “improperly used equipment” when doing handstands on the ground…I was then told by management “it’s not that kind of gym” and had my membership revoked without warning… personally I believe my membership was revoked because I stopped greeting the gym owner who made me feel uncomfortable. This eventually led to her paying special attention to me at all times in the gym with awkwardly long stares during my workout. Eventually I canceled my membership stating that “Alex (the owner) made me uncomfortable”as the reason, as a result my membership was revoked after the first day when I returned a year later… all in all, the owner is an incredibly awkward and antisocial woman who inherited the gym from her father as a means to save her from her drug addicted lifestyle.
Negative experience: Never go to this gym. They hate keep powerlifting by only letting “strong” people use the kilo plates. I’ve never seen or heard of such a beta gym ever in my life. Ownership and management are terrible for allowing this to happen and not do anything to change it. If I could leave a 0 star I would because these people are the worst kind of gym owners

Negative experience: Charged me for 2 months after I cancelled. Emailed for refund, never got it
When we do a refund it takes 3 to 5 business days via credit card company. If you personal message we can look up your account and see when you were given refund. It doesn't happen right away. Thanks
Fantastic experience: Great gym, lots of machines and weights with plenty of options. Love the flexibility of 24 hours, love that it has Hummus Fit at the gym as well. I am a competitor and it is really hard to find a local gym to work out at with the right equipment other then Bev Francis.
Negative experience: Have been a member here for over 20 years (when it was Gold’s Gym), and recently had to cancel. The Good: It’s 24 hours. There’s a large selection of equipment and even a sauna. The Bad: The place is WAY. TOO. PACKED. I mean, “prime time 5pm on a weekday,” levels of packed, all day, every day. Even with the large selection of equipment, it almost doesn’t matter because you’ll still be waiting for something, or just have to do something else entirely. I can’t even attribute this to New Years Resolution newcomers, because this has been the status quo for the last year and a half. The Ugly: Tri-pods. Tri-pods EVERYWHERE. You’d think you were in the Universal Studios Backlot with the amount of cameras recording at any given time here. A TON of wanna-be influencers here to record and socialize. If you’re looking for a busy, social gym and don’t mind walking into frame of someone’s Instagram story, this place is for you. If you’re a serious lifter and want to be in and out, look elsewhere

Negative experience: Some of the front desk employees are unprofessional, have no customer service skills at all. Don’t buy anything from the front desk most of them are rude.

Fantastic experience: I am currently unable to keep my membership due to pregnancy and Alex made it painless to cancel my membership for the time being. No hassle or headaches, I am definitely looking forward to returning to this gym due to his consideration. Gym is always clean, staff is always friendly and the protein shakes are great !
Negative experience: Had a membership with them for quite some time, never any problems always had my monthly dues paid on time. I moved out of the state of NY and upon my last workout I discontinued my membership (or so I thought). Discovering almost two years later they filed a collection with a collection agency that I owe them $150 for 5 months of monthly dues. I called them to resolve this. They stated it was not canceled and asked for the receipt of cancelation... I do not have one as I did not think a cancelation of a gym membership was something file away and I would need to prove years later. They agreed to settle on 2 months of dues at $60 for membership dues. I find this unacceptable and completely bad business practices. The girl on the phone stated she also saw that I had not checked into the gym at all since the last payment. So these guys are trying to squeeze money out of someone they know didn't use their gym and barely even went when I did have a membership. At this point I'm going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General.

Fantastic experience: This gym is by far the best one I’ve been to ! as far as equipment goes , they are really up to date (and have a lot available ) the staff is very friendly and the place is very clean. It does get really crowded but that’s normal of gyms at certain times . The gym offers so many different services that it’s hard not to like, from personal training , prepped meals to even a hair salon , I love it !
Fantastic experience: Been a member of multiple gyms on Long Island and this is-hands down- the best gym I've been to. I'm no hard core gym rat but I will say- Its clean and the staff is super friendly and helpful no matter what fitness level you are at. I'm 66 and a member since 2017. I highly recommend Pro-Fit for anyone.
Fantastic experience: Susan’s Zumba class is fabulous! She puts her heart into every move and you are happy to sweat along with her. And you certainly do sweat. The class is a great workout, which anyone can do and is lots of fun. After every class everyone is smiling, even if they didn’t start out that way at the beginning of the class. You let go of your cares and worries in that class as you shimmy and shake to a variety of upbeat music. No judgement on your fluidity of motion - just give it a try - you will be so happy that you did. And in time you will find yourself moving snd grooving with grace, style, flair and flow. So go!! The gym itself is impressive - high ceilings, lots of equipment well spaced, clean and welcoming. Definitely recommend.
Fantastic experience: Been going to this gym for about 3 months now. I was coming from an LA Fitness and Pro Fit is way better. This Gym has everything you need and it’s a REAL gym not a place where your worrying about upsetting people for make too much noise from slamming weights. To be honest this is the best gym I’ve been to since I was in the Navy I compare it to working out on base or my ships gym
Negative experience: WARNING: DO NOT ATTEND THIS GYM During the pandemic, this gym "froze" my membership without letting me know at all. Then when gyms did open up, again without consent, started up payments on a card that is never checked on or used. The way I found out about these charges were from a collection agency trying to claim the money I "owe". When called, Lisa continues to dodge my questions regarding, "where in my contract does it state they can freeze or unfreeze my account without consent,". This business clearly doesn't care about there members, as I have been a member for 3 years, would have gladly gave them more money over the next few years of membership than the 200 they are trying to pry from any nook an crevice they can get there hands into. Regardless of this situation, the gym is a damp unventilated cluster with very few spaces to walk. They pride themselves on the 2 new pieces of equipment they have since the dumbbells are chipped to pieces. Good luck finding a working machine that is not in use, or a severe safety hazard. The only way this place has survived the pandemic is through, arguably, the extortionary tactics it has used on their none the wiser members. I feel betrayed, ignored, and unwelcomed by this gym during an extremely difficult time for society. I also asked to speak to the owner several times prior to being hung up on by Lisa.
Zach we froze all memberships for 6 months. All you had to do was email or call us to cancel. We were very sensitive to all members during covid. We sent out countless texts emails and phone calls to you which you ignored. As a small local business we worked tirelessly to stay in business. We have over 10 new pieces of equipment and more on the way. Not sure what your gripe is since you haven't been in. All our members are so happy with our gym for over 30 years. Not sure why you have to take a negative stance on a small business that actually cares about their members. I guess you prefer the corporate gym atmosphere. We have been open for 9 months and you did not answer one call email or text to cancel or freeze as hundreds have done with no problem. I would have spoken directly about this and taken this account out of collections since Lisa told me about you an hour ago but you chose to air your grievances on social media. So I am upset about you not giving us a chance to talk. Be well.

Negative experience: I really wanted to like the gym but I don’t see what all the fuss is about, my main issue is it closes early every snow day or closes completely so I have to end up going to Xsport in Garden city. I hate going all the way to Xsport in Nassau bc they happen to know how to shovel. Main lesson learnt here is always have a back up gym I guess.
Sorry you feel that way the safety of our staff is our top priority weather reports state icing freezing of roadways and more snow on the way. We were open from 5am to 5pm and many members took advantage and were happy to come in. When we were 24/7 we literally never closed ever. We will go back to 24 hours hopefully soon. Almost all gyms closed early today. We are a small business and family gym unlike corporate gyms we consider our families first Thank you for the feedback.
Fantastic experience: Thanks for making sure we have a covid safe place to train. The owner and front desk day ladies are awesome. I don’t think it’s possible to have a more stacked gym that is cleaned so thoroughly throughout the day. Keep it up and thanks for being there for us.
Fantastic experience: Super DOPE gym, I've been training over 30yrs and traveled the World during my USMC days and have to be honest, Pro-Fit is one of the top gym's around! I've Been a member for 3+ yrs and the energy is on another level. Place is super clean and machines are never broken. I can go on forever about the facility and the staff but the onwer Alix truly puts her heart and soul into the gym. COVID has not been good for anyone and Profit was no exception. Being closed/shutdown for 5+ months and Alix continued to make improvements /$$$/ upgrades during those uncertain times. But once she recieved the green light she was ready with the new protocols and opened immediately. "That's not even the best part of my dissertation" Despite all of that, she is still able to offer a super DOPE gym at affordable prices to fit any budget or situation.

Fantastic experience: Easily the best gym I have ever been to; the vibe in this gym whenever I go is amazing, lots of quality friendly lifters who are all buisness; work efficiently and set a pace. I heard a lot of gyms kept billing when they were forced to shut down but Pro Fit stopped billing my account the same week they closed doors. Its little things like that which make me a happy member. Can't wait for them to reopen I'm losing my sanity without a gym...

Fantastic experience: This is a great place to train. Every type of equipment you could hope for. The place is always clean, equipment is always maintained, and everyone who trains here is courteous and friendly. If you are serious about training and live within 20-30 mins of this place, this is where you should be working out.
Fantastic experience: Now that all the "New Year's Resolutions" have given way to the REAL 2020 - I recommend you get back on track (and stay there!) with the best trainer I have ever worked with -Aubrey_Certified_Personal_Trainer_and_Fitness_Nutritionist! Getting started is hard - really hard, but once you do, you need someone who knows how to keep you moving ahead, that's how you get better...and that's what Aubrey does. Once a week is enough to keep me motivated to work hard and move forward on the other days and 6 months later I have more strength, flexibility and endurance than in the past 10 years! Plenty more to do to meet my goal - but it's good to have a Trainer to help along the way! Pro-Fit is a well equipped, well maintained and 24/7 gym to do it all in - give it a try!
Fantastic experience: I have been training with Aubrey for quite some time now and she has been nothing less than amazing. She has provided me with healthy meal plans that incorporate foods of my choice and every week she challenges me with different work out routines geared towards my fitness goals. I highly recommend Aubrey, Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Nutritionist to those who are looking for a down to earth, yet detail-oriented trainer & nutritionist!

Negative experience: I called ahead and asked the guy working if I could come in tonight to workout with a free pass for the day, his response being “yes, thats why we’re the best gym on Long Island”. I make my way all the way out here to told that I am in fact not allowed to workout here for the day and I have to pay $10...even though I’ve never been here before and even called ahead to make sure it was okay. Not only this, the guy working at the front desk was very rude. I myself work at Retro Fitness and we are taught to be very polite and helpful, this man was neither (this is not me marketing Retro, this is me discussing what I believe to be proper etiquette when it comes to handling customers). Save your time and dont deal with this gyms nonsense. Edit to response: I understand that you may have policies but I spoke to an employee there over the phone asking if I was able to come in and use a free pass at any time tonight and the answer was yes. I work at Retro Fitness in Albany because I am a student, so I do not belong to a gym in Long Island as of right now which is why I wanted to try your gym out. I even looked into your pricing comparing it to other gyms, though more expensive, I was considering joining for the summer. The man who was working the front desk was in fact not polite, nor helpful. Thanks for the response but, it was really not helpful towards my situation. We do not give free passes overnight. Since people who want to join the gym cannot receive a proper tour. If your phone call was inquiring about passes we would have given you one but since you arrived after 11pm then we do not give them out. If you paid the $10 for the pass overnight we honor it for 24 hours or can be used towards a membership. We are sure the gym you work at has policies about free passes and if writing this review to complain about a free pass to a gym you had no intention of joining in the first place since you work at a gym and already get a free membership then I don't think we are in the wrong. We are sorry but being the only gym open 24/7 we have our standards too. $10 is a reasonable price we believe to use our facilities at 11pm on a Saturday night. Sorry our staff is always friendly and adheres to our policies. Why did you change the name on you google account to respond? Matt John was the name that wrote review now your response you changed the name to John Cas? also you are writing a negative review based on possibly having $10 to workout in the middle of the night when free passes are not available our staff politely responded that we give free passes during the day and evening. Worst case scenario is you could have spent $10 worked out for 24 hours and had the $10 taken off your membership if you joined. We are not unreasonable and not sure who you spoke with or even if you called the gym since you have changed your name and we cannot verify.

Fantastic experience: ProFit is the BEST gym I have ever belonged to in 5 decades of training on 3 continents. New equipment is always being added and the gym and locker rooms are always clean. The gym has amazing variety. There is an area dedicated to powerlifting and classes for the elderly. to stay fit. The gym attracts a cross section of America with all races mingling easily. Businessmen come at lunch time and college kids in the summer. The best part is the staff -- top caliber athletes who are also personable and interested. My 90 minutes per day at ProFit are the best part of my day.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member for a couple of months now. I love the classes, they are a real challenge! Spin class with Danielle is fantastic! I haven't sweat that much since boot camp! I also really enjoy that the private room with the mirrors isn't out in the open. If you want some privacy it is ideal I am very satisfied!
Fantastic experience: Love this gym! It's very clean with a large selection of workout machines. Childcare is a huge plus!! Favorite part is the classes, particularly the HIIT class taught by Kaylar. She will definitely keep you motivated and get you into shape. Recommend 10/10.
Fantastic experience: Iv been here for a good amount of time, it's always clean and the energy is really amazing compared to other gyms iv been too. Plus, it's the only gym I know that I can get a work out done at 2 or 3 am in the morning, if I wanted to.

Negative experience: It's been 2 years since I stepped foot in this gym, I cancelled my membership 2 YEARS AGO. but they constantly try to charge my credit card, or send these sketchy financial companies after me. IF YOU WANT TO BE LOCKED IN FOR LIFE AND HAVE AGGRESSIVE TACTICS DONE TO TRY AND TAKE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY AFTER YOU STOP GOING TO THE GYM, COME TO PRO-FIT DEER PARK HOME OF CON ARTISTS. WHY DO YOU THINK THEY HAVE THE PLAY ON WORDS "PROFIT" IN THEIR NAME.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member since 2016. You won't find another gym out there that's open 24/7 (regardless of any inclement weather), has friendly/motivated staff, and the equipment needed to get an extensive workout. It's hands down the best gym I've been to!

Negative experience: At first My fiancé and I were very happy with the gym .. 24/7 and good machines but ever since September came around My fiancé and I have had issues with them.. before September my card was on file then September came and my fiancé gave his card so that they can charge the monthly fees from there on... but they didn’t they kept on charging my card.. on September I got charged $24.99 and on October I got hit with a bunch of fees cause of them trying to charge my account.. spoke with Alex the owner. She appologiezed and told me the $24.99 was the yearly renewal for the maintenance fee that she said she couldn’t refund and as for the fees of $53 in October she can’t do anything about it but that she would give a free month to make up for the problems.. At the point I told her that would be fine about the charges but that my fiancé wouldn’t be going back to the gym at least not anytime soon cause he’s schedule was night times now.. he didn’t need the free month so she said that there wouldn’t be a free month and that the charge in October would be his cancelation charge.. . Lisa mentioned to us that my fiancé had to come in to sign and I clearly told her that it would be hard cause he doesn’t get home till 8:30 in the morning dead tiered and knocked out till 3:30 that he gets up eats and gets ready to go back to work.. I offered to go myself to sign but knowing it was hard for my fiancé to go in and sign she said no he had to be the one.. bottom line , November came they charged my card again with out any authorization. spoke with Alex she gave us the credit , December came again got charged Lisa said that Alex would credit it.. still no credit..they did mention. That they would still keep charging until my fiancé came in and signed the cancelation.. again I told her in order for My fiancé to go in and sign he would have to ask for the night off or they would have to let him out early.. either way she said she would refund the charges until he signed so keeping in mind that December still waiting on the refund, January 17th came and they charged again.. finally went in the 18th and he signed the papers and now they don’t want to refund the charges on top of that they say he has to pay the cancellation fee again..!!! Really.!!! That was already taking care of on Oct.. Four months ago we gave a verbal notice and a message to the owners by text that he was cancelling and that he wasn’t going back to the gym that was more than enough for them not to keep charging my card .. very sad how much of a hypocrite the owner Alex and Lisa are . they have the audacity to say I was going behind my fiancé’s back in cancelling his account and now trying to put the blame on my fiancé saying he’s using my card with out my permission.. they find all kind of excuses to justify them not refunding us back the two charges of $35 for December and January..!!! It’s pathetic how one has to be on top of what they charge and don’t charge.. and for them $70 is nothing for us it’s a lot specially when they’re not suppose to charge my account and I keep getting hit with insufficient fees..!! the gym is a good gym but the management it pathetic.. the owner has no idea how to manage a gym or keep track of the promises she says..and as for Lisa is sad how she tries to manipulate the situation and make it look like one is at fault..!!!
Marlens you were never a member to Pro-Fit, if your boyfriend didn't cancel account and still attended the gym as he did during the fall he would need to come in personally and cancel his account, not a third party on his behalf. Also you forgot to mention how many times you came to the gym for Free in 2018. You were also refunded $70 in fall because of your rude and belligerent behavior to the front desk. You also called your credit card company and claimed fraud on your boyfriends account which is ridiculous because he was here every night posting on instagram his workouts. We have his signed records of the credit card he used to purchase his membership so in total you made $140. I am sure the paying members appreciate the gym and that people who abuse and use the gym for free are no longer coming here.
Fantastic experience: Best gym around. Right near the train station with little wait-time on machines. Super friendly staff, lots of additional features, great shake bar. Just a great environment that strives me to push myself, and that’s what a gym should be.

Fantastic experience: Best gym in the entire world. We are all a family here. I bet no other gym can say that. 24 hours a day 7 days of the week even on holidays. This place is open even through a zombie apocalypse if you want to get your swole on. Never been happier to call this place my second home.
