Our comment from Nutrifinder.net about Affinity Walk-In Clinic:

Affinity Walk-In Clinic is a 24-hour facility that offers a wide range of medical services. Many users appreciate the friendly and professional demeanor of most staff members. Highlights include:

  • Compassionate Care: Several patients have praised the kindness, compassion, and knowledge of certain healthcare providers, notably mentioning specific nurses and nurse practitioners.
  • Convenience: The clinic's extended hours make it an accessible option for those in need of care outside regular business hours.
  • Quick Service: Some visitors report minimal wait times during less busy hours, allowing for prompt medical attention.

However, there are notable concerns that potential patients should be aware of:

  • Long Wait Times: Numerous reviews indicate that wait times can be excessively long, with some patients waiting several hours despite arriving at designated times.
  • Inconsistent Care: There have been multiple reports of misdiagnoses and a lack of thorough examinations from certain medical staff, which has caused distress among patients.
  • Customer Service Issues: Some users have described reception staff as rude or unhelpful, leading to a negative first impression upon entering the clinic.

While Affinity Walk-In Clinic has its strengths in particular staff members and convenient hours, it's essential for potential patients to weigh these advantages against the potential for long waits and mixed experiences with care quality.

Fantastic experience: I just had my second visit with Rayne Lowder, NP, and I could not be more impressed with her kindness, compassion, knowledge and skill. Also, 5 Stars for the customer service starting with the greeters at the front door, the kind housekeepers and the office receptionist. Martin Milner

Negative experience: TT brought me here and word is this man is racist, classest, and does not uphold any oath of conduct becoming of a "doctor".

Negative experience: The doctors here , falsely say u have stuff that you don’t . I only went here because my usual doctor was packed! They told me I had chlamydia & I just knew it was false because I was celibate for over a year . They had prescribed antibiotics and everything. I didn’t have symptoms of chlamydia at all! I just went to the doctor because my stomach was hurting! Little did they know I ended up going to my original doctor 3 days later & did a full panel with them still & my results were negative on everything. Yall need to stop falsely diagnosing people with stuff like that. I have yet to find out or take actions to report it to the Board.

Negative experience: Front desk clerk was rude and appears to be racist and she let someone who came 30 minutes after me go before me .Her name is Carol Morris and the person who went after me was white.

Negative experience: I took my 5 month old in on a Friday afternoon due to our regular clinic being closed. The staff here are unprofessional and do not seem to care about the patient. The lady that examed my baby not only did not due a proper exam. Infact when the light instrument wouldnt work she just skipped that part instead of getting one that worked. She seemed very insecure in her abilty and knowledge or maybe she just didnt really care. She said she wasnt sure what was going on and she was going to consult the doctor. She came back in with our paperwork and perscription. The "DR" without ever looking at my son wrote a perscription. When we went to the pharmacy and I was told what antibiotic they gave I was not comfortable with it due to a family history of issues with that specific medication. The pharmcist called and asked if they would send something else due to my concerns. The Dr refused to do that. I have never felt so unheard or less cared for by any medical professional. Every patient is different and there is no cookie cutter diagnosis. If they do not care about the patient they should find another career. Their life could be in the balance while you go home to your family

Fantastic experience: The care you need from a clinic is important when you are sick. The nurses and the doctor was the best ever today. Couldn’t get appointment with my primary care physician. Called Affinity clinic, they held my place for a walk in appointment. They take care of you from start to finish. Have never had a bad experience from this clinic. Highly recommend Affinity Clinic location Monroe La. My symptoms were addressed and got the attention I needed. They were busy but not a wait like ER at hospital. Thank you!

Negative experience: I would give negative stars if I could. This is the worst clinic I’ve ever had experiences with. We have been numerous times only due to everything else being closed. But it is a waste of time and I leave angry every time. They have misdiagnosed multiple times and do not listen to their patients. Example, I went in lethargic, vomiting, fever, and severe pain in my left shoulder. The doctor wouldn’t do blood work and insisted I had a viral infection and was sending me home. It wasn’t until I noticed (while waiting for go home papers) I was draining green from a recent surgery that he decided to run blood work and my white count was 21,000. He then sent me to the er. I had a MRSA staph infection. By the time I got to the hospital I was almost septic. If I would have went home like he said it could have been bad. They also said my daughter has a virus but she actually had a uti. I called at 8:15 the other night and asked about the wait and there was only one person so we went on. We got there right before 9. One person in the waiting room and she turned us away. They close at 10. I said you could have told me that on the phone. This place should be shut down. They are useless and rude. Do not waste your time here.

Negative experience: I visited this clinic a year ago for an upper respiratory infection, seeking specific tests for my condition. The nurse insisted I take a COVID test, which I declined. When Dr. Norman William entered, he did not ask about my symptoms or medical history. Instead, he focused on my refusal to take the COVID test, making me feel belittled and uncomfortable. He quickly diagnosed me with a viral infection, and said it was COVID, without conducting any proper examination such as listening to my lungs, checking my throat, or even considering my detailed medical history of respiratory issues. When I mentioned my history of respiratory infections, the fact that I was suffering from green and yellow infection in my lungs that I was coughing up, and the past recommendation to remove my scarred tonsils, he dismissed my concerns without a thorough examination. He insisted that my symptoms were merely mucus without evidence and did not offer appropriate tests. I had to request a streptococcus test myself. He reluctantly performed a white blood cell count and didnt tell me what it was called. He gave me the acronym for the test and I cad to ask him to clarify what the test was and its purpose, and he finally diagnosed me with a sinus infection, a bacterial issue contrary to his initial viral diagnosis. Throughout the visit, Dr. William was rude, unprofessional, and dismissive. He called me ignorant and obstinate for knowing and asserting my patient rights, creating an atmosphere so tense that I had to call my husband/ then fiancé to come back into the room for support. The nurse displayed similar frustration, making the environment uncomfortable. This was my second negative experience at this clinic. Previously, my then fiancé visited for severe headaches and felt similarly dismissed by another doctor. He was treated poorly as well, even though he was incredibly cooperative with whatever testing they wanted him to do. Doctors should listen to patients and provide appropriate care without coercion or disrespect. My experience was distressing and unsatisfactory. Until there are significant improvements in the professionalism and bedside manner of the staff, especially Dr Noman, I cannot recommend this clinic.

Negative experience: Norman B Williams is a horrible doctor. He spoke to me like I was ignorant and beneath him. He denied everything I said about my eye even tho my optometrist told be different. He was in an out under 2 minutes And also he asked who my primary Healthcare provider was I said I'm sorry I don't know how I never go to the doctor. He said yea you do know it's on your card. I said I don't know I'm sorry he said well you need to k own if your wanting our free you need to know your Healthcare proveider. He talked to me like I waS a dog the whole 2 minutes he was InThe room. Will never go back their again.

Negative experience: I took my son in to the clinic on a Saturday due to constant coughing. Once diagnosed the provider informed me she was unable to prescribe him anything and that I had to pretty much let it run its course or wait until MONDAY to contact his PCP. I explained I have been doing over the counter treatments and nothing was working and was there ANYTHING she could do.. She finally offered a breathing treatment and machine. Why wasn’t that offered at first? Also they didn’t want give him and excuse for school knowing he was running fever and told me he could not go back until fever free for 24hrs hour without meds. I informed them I had made contact with his PCP and was waiting on a call back to see if he could be seen by them. Overall the rudeness and the lack of concern is very aggravating. Nobody is just letting their child keep coughing and not try to get them help. Also, nobody is just keeping their child out school for no reason. Definitely will try to avoid going back to Affinity if I can.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would. The doctor was very dismissive and discriminatory towards us because we are black and my grandson is mixed. The doctor told me my 11 month old grandson had a viral rash, that is was not an amoxicillin rash and it was okay to continue giving it to him. Guess what he lied it was an allergic reaction to amoxicillin and we were supposed to have stopped using it immediately said his PCP! He could have hurt this baby! Also the male nurse who came in and asked did the doctor explained to us the discharge papers was rude. When we told him no the doctor said he was coming back and never did he looked like he was upset because told him no. My grandson PCP provided him a steroid and cream for the rash something AFFINITY should have done. I will never come back in this place after I return to speak to a manger or someone over this clinic!!!!

Negative experience: Over two months ago I came in for being sick, all they did was a COVID test, said you have COVID, get out, didn't even address the reason I came which was the fact I could not swallow and hadn't drank barely any water in 2 and half days. Now I get a 400$ bill in the mail and 100 is that "COVID infection". So you literally get charged for being sick LOL and then another 220 cause I hadn't visited before. Plus another 100$ for the test alone. Thought those tests were free? Nope! Magically they stopped being covered just the day before! Yeah ok.

Negative experience: The staff was friendly. That's not my complaint. The wait time is absolutely absurd. I understand that they had one provider, but it should not take HOURS to see a doctor. I arrived at 7:48 pm, and wasn't called back till 11:30. I didn't leave the building until 12:50am. At 8:40pm I asked the wait time and she said 1 hour , and that 5 people were in front of me . It definitely took longer than 1 hour. This is unacceptable. I'm not sure how they have patients at this rate. It would have been faster to have gone to the ER. But, I'm trying to be respectful and saving that for actual emergencies. Just please consider examining this and finding a way to make it better. There really isn't an excuse for that in my opinion. It wasn't that packed to merit a 4 hour visit .

Negative experience: I was here the other day for the first time... At first the staff were nice and professional. When it came time to tell the nurse practitioner what was going on, it all spiraled downwards. She was extremely rude and said unnecessary things to me. Negative experience: I've been here twice so far, and both times the staff have been very helpful and nice to me. Ironically I wrote a glowing review while here my second time, which now has become invalid. The nurses here are, generally, very nice and professional. However, the nurse practitioner helping my girlfriend today was not only a dense a-hole but completely unprofessional as well. She made several completely inappropriate comments towards her, and as a result I will never be coming here or advising anyone I know to come here again. If that is the caliber of staff that are allowed to work in a healthcare setting like that, so be it a reflection of the quality of Affinity as a whole.

Briana Stockett 2 years ago

Negative experience: We went to this clinic today because my husband was having some tightness/ pain in his chest. He was also concerned about it being a bit hard to breathe. He never goes to the doctor so for him to make an appointment was a big deal. From the moment Dr. Norman Williams walked in the room he gave us the impression that we were waisting his time and he couldn’t understand why we were even up there. The fact that we were up there about chest pain/tightness was not even discussed. I felt like that was being ignored. He only discussed the effects of having a runny nose and cough, which is not why we went there. For some reason he was given an Covid test, that came back negative. He ended up just prescribing Mucinex and cough medicine. He showed no concern to the reason why we were even there, chest pain. So, being an advocate for my husband, I asked about the chest pain. The tone of Dr. Norman Williams voice and the response I got was not OK. The man was rude and he still didn’t even care about the chest pain or do anything to check into it. The cost of the visit was extremely high too. I don’t know what it was for because they did nothing other than a Covid test. It appears others have had bad experiences with this Dr. as well after reading some reviews. We will not be returning ever again!

Fantastic experience: Wanted to share my experience with this clinic I had today. When I got there, they were pretty busy, probably at least 15 people ahead of me. So there was a wait, but from the front desk, the nurses and the nurse practitioner, they were all extremely nice and professional. They took vitals, they ran appropriate tests, they even tested for something I was concerned about. The NP listened and treated me like she cared, not because she had to. It was a nice experience compared to other places I have been recently. So ... thank you to all the staff today!!

Negative experience: The service at the affinity clinic is awful. I heard of racial bias in the medical care of of Africa America patients. On two occasions I have been here with my son and experienced less than adequate care. The first time I was like maybe Dr Norman Williams was having a bad day and thought next my experience will be better. I was wrong triage nurse Jake was awesome although he didn't take my son temperature (which I feel needed to be done) he was very friendly. I feel as though more could have been done by the Dr with regards to my son's illness.

Fantastic experience: This is the only 24 hour clinic in our area besides ER. Considering they get slammed with all kinds of sickness at all hours of the day-and-night I think they do an exceptionally well job. Negative experience: My infant (8months) had a cough & runny nose , but no fever. Due to COVID I understand the extra precautions. We waited in the car for them tell us 30 mins later, that my baby would have to get tested. Great, anything for my little one to feel better. Results came back negative for both RSV and COVID. They suggested giving the baby otc cough medicine to help. Here we are 1 week later and my baby is still congested (causing her to cough up mucus). So I take her back, test results are negative, we’ve already done the paperwork and everything. Upon walking in I witnessed at least 3 people not wearing a mask…..I overlook it, I just want relief for my baby. Make it to the front desk, I give the necessary info…..acknowledge they’ve already tested her, so that’s not the issue. The lady proceeds to say “it’s up to the doctors if they want to see her” AN INFANT?!?! I couldn’t help but cry…because why? “You’ll just have to wait , they’ll call.” I went on to take my baby to the ER, and they did more in 10 mins than this place. Oh and might I add, they called me 3 hours later.

Negative experience: The call ahead concept is pointless. It’s the same as a regular walk-in. The only difference is you’re walking in at the time they tell you to come. Still a two hour wait but they are holding you a “timeslot.”

Negative experience: Place is a joke. Id rather pay an ER bill than go here. They do not care about you. They will dismiss anything you have. And will not treat children as they know their own bodies. 0/10 would NOT recommend. You are better off treating yourself.

Negative experience: Last resort. Would not go here unless absolutely necessary. Had to wait three hours for my wife to get stitches and I wasn’t even allowed back with her, even though the person called before her was with a group of three. I would not recommend going here.

Negative experience: The nurse practitioner linda Johnson was very nonchalant, many of my concerns went unchecked and were ignored. I wasn't offered a shot, I'm not feeling any better and hopefully I won't have to go to the emergency room. Get physicians and practitioners that at least seem to care about the patients. Will never return to your facility and judging from your online reviews, and my personal experience, some drastic changes need to be made! Please don't leave a comment asking me to file a formal complaint because I have already.

Positive experience: The reason I’m giving it 3 stars is because the doctor and nurses who helped my daughter were great! However, the front desk ladies could not have been ruder! VERY sad they are the face of the people in the back because the doctor/nurses were great! Definitely need to hire people who know how to talk to people especially mothers who are holding their daughters who are in pain. Terrible for business.

Negative experience: my husband tested positive for covid. He was told he could go back to work after 3 days of no symtoms. called Affinity walk in clinic to see if they could provide the release to go back to work. I answered all the questions and was told they would call me when release was ready. They never called went there to get the release was told they could only give him an excuse for days missed. If they would have told me that at first we would have to his primary doctor for the release.

My daughter has has 3 sinus surgery's and will not let anyone put anything up her nose. she explained this to no end. Negative experience: Had a covid screening a week ago and never got a call or email back with results. Called in to talk to someone, first time called in and was told the Nurse wasn't at her station and to call back. Called back and the Nurse completely ignored what I said: I advised I was calling for my results, and she kept asking questions about symptoms and fever. I again, advised I wasnt calling to GET a screening but to get my results. She entirely ignored what I said, told me to call back if I show symptoms, and promptly hung up. Update: Got a call today regarding said test. The nurse said that its showing they called and talked to me about it. When as stated above, they didn't and when I called them they wouldn't tell me anything. So looks like they may be putting lies on their documentation as well. Should note the one who called me today was incredibly nice and helpful, no complaints.

Negative experience: I’m giving the affinity clinic one star ONLY so I can post a review. My dad went to the clinic last night for emergency care without CO-VID19 complications. He saw a “provider” but this provider was not listed on his order of care detailing his visit. The doctor listed on his list of care is someone he never saw. He required a catheter and was advised to see a urologist today, Monday. The recommendation from the provider was to go to affinity’s own urology department. I called this morning to do just that. They, whoever answered the phone said my dad needed a referral. He has a catheter no one at affinity wants to take responsibility for. When I mentioned that fact, the person I talked to transferred me to the so-called urology department to a number no one answered! I called the clinic back and my call was disconnected! My dad is an 85 yr old who we still had no appointment about the health issue! He is sick now! So I guess illnesses need to be scheduled. No thanks Affinity clinic. Don’t bring your family members there unless you just don’t care about their health!

Negative experience: We did not get my husbands MRI results for weeks. We called numerous times and never did get a call back. Finally, we spoke to the nurse and she told us the Doctor wanted to know if anything had changed since the Dr looked at the paper from the radiologist instead of the MRI images we paid to have read. In saying that, the nurse told us Dr said then nothing has changed. We’re the images ever read Hmmmm..... we will be going to another neurologist.

Negative experience: During this unprecedented time of the COVID-19 pandemic, this facility is doing drive up testing. This is great because it is not putting others at risk; however, the problem lies with how long it takes to get results back. Both of my parents were tested at this facility and it took about five (5) days to get the results back. My father passed away from COVID-19 before he received his official test results. I was tested at another facility and it took two (2) days to get my results back. My significant other is now showing symptoms and he is waiting for test results and we are on day 5, still no results. Not sure how everyone else is able to get results back quicker than this facility. If you need a COVID-19 test done, please don't go here it takes too long to get results back.

Negative experience: After having a week of sinus issues, sore throat and a cough, I developed a high fever and nausea. I got sent home from work and decided to go to the clinic in hope of some relief. They agreed I had a fever and saw how red my throat was. They told me to take Tylenol for the fever and sent me along my way. No meds, steroid shot or anything. Waste of a few hours to just confirm what I already knew and not offer any relief.

Negative experience: Horrible experience. Would have given less stars if I could. Went in because I thought I broke my foot. Waited 3 hours with people with the flu...and this is when I called in ahead of time. They supposedly have a option where you can call in ahead and they will put you on the list so you don't have to wait long. THREE hours? News bulletin, that is a long time! Front desk people had too much attitude. Xray person had too much attitude. The only thing they wanted to focus on was my bunion, which was NOT bothering me, and my high blood pressure, which it normally runs about 98/60. It was very high, but I was in a lot of pain, and had to hobble quite a distance to get to the room. I have no insurance and paid in full. Got more bills from the X-ray, and this place charges WAY too much. $288 for an xray on one foot. I went to the podiatrist, who charged me $80 for more involved X-rays on TWO feet. My issue was nerve damage, and my bunion had nothing to do with it! Do NOT waste your time here!

Fantastic experience: I had the best service at the Affinity Walk-in Clinic. When someone is sick, caring staff mean so much. I will be using this clinic again for my family's needs. Nurses Mary Graves and Brandon Baker were very professional and caring. Mary did great job starting my IV. The nurse practitioner Charlene was so caring, knowledgeable, and smart. Even the Doctor on duty Dr.Thadur checked on me and was very caring. Everyone was very concerned and asking was there anything else they could do for me. Thank you so much for taking such good care of me.

Negative experience: Went in for ear infection at 9pm, only waited 15 mins to be seen so not bad at all, Went pick up my medications on the next day only to found out, she send it to the wrong Walgreens, that’s fine, mistakes happen, so i call the walgreens to transfer the medication and when i pick it up Instead of ear infection medicine, R. Mccormick prescribes me VAGINAL YEAST INFECTIONS medicines, thinking it’s mistake from Walgreens i call the clinic to check again and no, it was Ms. R Mccormick that prescribed the Vaginal Yeast Infections medicines to me for my ear infections, i asked the nurse at the clinic if in any case that vaginal yeast infections medicine will work for my ear infections (that’s how desperate i am trying to believe that some how the medicines will work) but she tell me to discard it and it wasnt made for ear infections, now what? I have to come up to the clinic again to get my ear check and someone will give me another type of prescriptions that might be for my ear or it might be for my unknown yeast infection that i didnt know about. Negative experience: Stopped by the Affinity Broodmore office on Wednsday the 20th of March after suffering for several days with a sore throat and the usual side affects , fever , body aches etc,. I noted my symptoms at the front desk. I was called to the back after about an hour , where my vitals were checked and a young female nurse asked about my ailments, restated my ailments. She left and the Doctor came in without the nurses notes she had taken and asked the same set of questions? He surmised I might have an allergy/ ear infection. The lab tech came in shortly and swabbed my throat and nostrils. The Tech left with the specimens to run test. After 40-50 minute conservatively nodding off and being patient I opened the door to find a mens room.By the reaction of the nurse and 2 other folks I knew they had forgotten I was still waiting in RM 4.Upon leaving the men room the Doctor was at the door before I could sit back down in the exam room, finished my meds prescription and said some babble about getting you outta here in 5 minutes I almost laughed.. For the waste of my time and cost to my provider this was pretty sloppy service by any standards.I will never come back here again and will tell anyone willing to listen to do the same. I felt as though I had been a patricipant in a" Saturday Night Live" skit about EXTREME bad service !!

Negative experience: Not good. Don’t know why it’s called a walk in clinic. You have to call ahead. Wait 2 hours to even walk in the door. I got here early so I’ve been here 45 minutes and they have called one person back. There is no excuse. This clinic must have changed management. You use to get in a lot quicker before you had to make an appointment. There is a lady here that got here before me and she has a walker and she was told there are 5 people in front of her. Negative experience: I brought my sons in this morning to the clinic and the doctor (NW) we got was very rude and not good at his job at all. He had diagnosed both kids with a common cold before he even examined them and I must add that he was wrong, one had an ear infection and the other had the flu. He only had a flu test done because the boys said they had a friend that had it other wise he would have given them nothing. I also believe he is the same doctor that told my mother 2 weeks ago when she came in that she had a cold and did no exam on her either. He told her the same thing he walked in and told me that it was viral and there was nothing that could be done. My mother was sick for two weeks and turned out she had bronchitis not a cold. After 10 days she came back to the clinic and begged them for shot because she was to the point she could not breath. This doctor should fired because is endangering patients lives. I only gave a this review 2 stars because the nurses and other staff were really great. I really hope something is done about the doctor in question other wise you guys could end with a lawsuit when he miss diagnoses some one and they die.

Negative experience: BEWARE the Walkin Clinic's billing. We are self pay. We went in for my husband's flu symptoms. They charged us $305 when we left, which we thought was already high, but ok. Then we get a bill for another $327 - so total for flu symptoms: $632. No mention at the time we left we'd be getting another bill. I'd ask them ahead of time for the costs of ANYTHING they do.

Negative experience: The wait time for this clinic is unnecessary. You don’t feel any type of sense of urgency at this clinic. The desk can never help you figure out a wait time. I don’t know what goes on behind closed doors but it’s definitley not helping the patients. This place needs to rethink itself. People don’t have hours at a time to spend waiting to see a “doctor” for 3 minutes. I know a lot of the community feels the same.

Negative experience: Every time I’ve been here, there is a ridiculous wait. This morning, my boyfriend and I were in a car accident. Due to no serious injuries at the time, we did not go to the ER. As the day went on, he begin getting a severe headache and experiencing numbness and tingling in his hand. I called ahead to ensure an appointment time and within the 3 minutes I was on the phone the time went from 3:30 to 4:00. We show up at 3:30, hoping that maybe they’ll get him back quickly due to the nature of his injuries. Not the case. Instead, we have waited 2 hours to be called back. I would not recommend this facility to anyone!!!!!

Negative experience: Arrived at 3:45 AM Sunday 18 Nov. at 4:45 still waiting to see a doctor. Coming here is about like having titts on a boar hog completely useless. How busy are you at this time of morning or did you want to finish your nap. This place should really be closed due to lack of caring qualified staff. At 5:00 I simply walked out without seeing a doctor. Have to get to work. Thanks Affinity for wasting my time. My time is quite valuable unlike the doctor running his mouth to the nurse instead of seeing patients. Charge them for wasting my time. No services No copay

Negative experience: Carried my 3 year old in because she had had flu like symptoms for about 3 days. The doctor decided to completely ignore that this was going on and focus on how her ears were even though my daughter didn't say anything about them hurting till this morning. And even diagnosed her as her ear was the problem! Get staff who talk to the parents not the child. My 3 year old isn't going to talk to you. She doesn't know you. She can't tell you what's wrong. She won't tell you what hurts. And listen... When a parent is sitting there telling the child I'm not going to hold you down. Don't make them. You have medical staff that are trained to hold children properly and they need to do that. Then the nurse tells me she'll be back in in 15. It's takes 45 minutes for someone to come say you can go. At that point this mom who stayed up with her child all night watching where her fever was and trying to get it to go down. And after hearing and knowing that the doctor or staff isn't listening to what I'm saying. 4 people have had this in our immediate contact. Including her dad. ITS NOT AN EAR INFECTION!!! While the ear infection may be caused by the constant stuffiness and runny nose, and her coughing till she almost pukes. It in deed is not the problem. I'll just take her to the er next time.

Negative experience: I have a sports injury and on day 4 waking up my ankle is triple the size. Dr literally walked in and tried to walk right back out saying, "give it more time". I asked him (to his back) if it could be xrayed, his response, "only if you want to wait an hour." Then proceeded to walk out. Horrible experience. I chose to go there to get xray so I would only have to miss work once instead of three times (going to primary, get xray, then see orthopedic dr.).
