Fantastic experience: This is a great place for more than just mental health.

Negative experience: I have to call behind them to send prescriptions to my pharmacy. Really a headache. I was on the phone a half hour waiting to speak to someone, as soon as it was my turn they hung up the line. I have lapses in my treatment schedule because they have difficulties with scheduling.

Fantastic experience: Won’t go anywhere else. They truly listen here and never make you feel like a hassle. They do care about your well being and what works for you.

Positive experience: I have been coming here with my family most of the staff the front lady’s and some of the staff I see are great I will not knock them, but because I spoke up for my family because they felt like they was not heard they belittle the client and then made there own story of what happen that was not completely true the person I spoke to seem to be completely bothered by the fact that I was complaining about how they’re employee was treating my family and because of that they decided to talk to me like I was beneath them, and because I spoke up everybody seems to be insulted and I’m wasting their time. This business is about helping people with mental health, not being the problem to their mental health that any black person that goes here and gets treated in a way that they do not like please speak up and make your voice be hurt because you are a person and you have feelings just because you have mental health does not mean that you need to be treated any type of way not even The Doctor or the Director!!!!

Negative experience: They are not organize i have to call them all the time for medicine subcription be on time to the pharmacy also sendind ing blood work papers i have to call them all the time to remind them.

Negative experience: Why is it impossible to receive a call back after leaving staff a voicemail... And for that matter, how come ten times out of ten you always go to their voicemail... Oh wait that's right because during work hours they're behind the window or in their office using their personal cellphone instead, my apologies...

Positive experience: The Doctors and nurses are always polite and professional. Yet, the receptionist do not greet you at the door and tend to look at you as if to say, why are you here? They definitely need some training and maybe some etiquette classes, because good morning is not very hard to say. On the 3rd floor there is no eye contact at all and that makes it weird, seeing as though I’m bringing children. If you can not look me in my eyes but look at the screen of your computer while talking to me, it gives a feeling of shady behavior. Directors or management need to see to this. I’ve been here plenty of times and it is the same thing.

Negative experience: Waiting so long for appointment and another patient come behind us go first. It’s happen many time.

Fantastic experience: This place has good people. The doctors helped a little with meds and talks. It is a little far drive for me. It isn’t where my primary doctor is. Everything works out here. The place is clean. The wait time after arrival is little. I respect their long term approach by making appointments many times during several months of treatment.

Negative experience: I feel I don't belong there. So, now, am planning on not going back there every again. Want to be removed from all appointments

Positive experience: 4/5 of my experiences with providers at Wheeler have been absolutely wonderful. I feel respected, heard, and understood by them. I would definitely recommend the Walk With Me program. However, I’m trans/nonbinary and I’m often misgendered by the front desk staff. I shared this with my therapist and she helped make it so there are now pronoun stickers at the front desk. The one big issue I have with Wheeler is that it’s impossible to get in touch with the providers. Calling takes *ages* and half the time you never even get through to the person you’re looking for. Emailing is not an option, which is very difficult for someone like me, and most of the time I don’t even try to call because it isn’t worth it.

Positive experience: I went to Wheeler Clinic a couple of days ago for an intake. The staff was was courteous and aside from waiting on the phone for a quite a while in order to speak with a receptionist, so far the service there is good.

Fantastic experience: Very happy with all the care I'm given at Wheeler dental. Thank you! Update. 3.22.23 In the end. I'm very unhappy with Wheeler dental and their dentist. The dentist blocked out months of appointments to spend time with her family during the holidays. So, all of my appointments were canceled and never rescheduled. I had to leave the country to go on a extensive vacation without my needed dental work because of her selfish behaviors. Very upset and unhappy. Would not recommend. David Harry Hutchins.

Negative experience: I initially gave this 4 star. But I've since come back to b remove 2 of those stars. There is chronic lateness in the time it takes to eventually see a doctor. And this is no matter what time of the day. I used to go afternoon and had attributed this log to caseload, time of the day and other patients coming late for their appointment. But since switching to morning appointments I've seen no difference. There is just no regards for patient's time. That's just disrespectful. The physical facility is decent and clean but the lack of regards and care to see the patient in a timely manner is just nasty. *Earlier post*: This is a decent clinic to take your children to for pediatric care. The doctors are kind, caring and helpful. There is Quest Lab on site if you need certain tests. I took a star off because at times the wait can be so long and it's hard on my child and I. But what I know for sure is that after the wait he's going to get the due care and consideration he deserves.

Negative experience: I came in asking to speak with someone regarding Mental Health issues I did not speak to someone regarding Mental Health issues I was however given an appointment 30 days out to talk with someone about mental health issues I don't think my health and well-being were being taken into account I went there because I'm having suicidal Thoughts no one seemed interested in speaking with me about them

Negative experience: My boyfriend's therapist at the wheeler clinic in Hartford asked him to have drinks outside of the clinic so that they could talk further. Don't know her name but she should lose her license.

Positive experience: Everyone was incredibly nice and professional for my visit. However, the care I recieved was not what I was looking for. I'm sure the Walk with Me program is amazing for those that need theraputic help, but that was not what I was looking for personally. Very kind, and I'm positive they are incredibly helpful for those seeking that kind of treatment.

Negative experience: Do yourself a huge favor and do NOT go here. I called numerous times and the woman paulette is rude everytime I call and then tells me I'm calling too many times a day when all I'm trying to do is get my medicine refilled. She's never in her office and rarely returns calls so I'm sorry I'm forced to call so many times to get my medicine for diabeties and hypertension. This places is a joke and please don't rerespond with your cookie cutter apologies if you really cared then you wouldn't have people like that working in your facility. Unbelievable.....I'm calling my doctor's office too much. You got me I love sitting on the phone on hold.

Positive experience: Nice that all my Drs are located in one building. Not too pleased that one must wait for assistance to take the stairs vs. the elevators. Not sure why that would be considered the healthier alternative.

Negative experience: I probably will be switching Drs after my most recent visit to this clinic. I waited an hour to be seen just for Maria to rush me out and only see me for not even 5 minutes. I had a list of important things I really needed to address, things I had been waiting weeks to talk about at a drs appt. I was really looking forward to this visit because I was hoping I could maybe get some answers, or reassurance even. But I barely got to speak to her about two. I just had a baby 9 months ago and she made the whole appt about me losing weight. Her medical advice for weight loss was stop drinking juice. It was a very discouraging visit. I didn’t feel heard at all. Not only am I switching but I will most likely be switching my kids to someone different. I don’t trust myself with someone who’s clearly more interested in clocking out then listening to their patients. My advice if you choose to stay is to make your appts in the morning because by the end of the day she’s clearly ready to leave and does not have time for her patients very real concerns. 1 out of 10 would NOT recommend especially to my plus size girls.

Fantastic experience: Great place to get the services you need

Negative experience: I do not recommend this place at all. I have been to this clinic twice because my son's pediatrician referred us, but we have not received the help that she said we would receive. I feel that this place plays with my child's mental health; they are more concerned with billing the insurance than showing interest in my child's real needs. We have only been waiting for hours in the waiting room filling out documents, answering questions, and signing to bill the insurance for a supposed treatment. Meanwhile, my son was sent there for his medications, and they have said that they still cannot give him his prescriptions. To make matters worse, the appointment times are inconvenient for my child's school and transportation. I have been very worried about my child's mental and emotional health for several weeks now, and this place has left me feeling much worse. My son has not received the help he truly needs. Completely disappointed.

Negative experience: I do not recommend it. They leave people waiting for hours and then see you in 15 minutes. Then they give you an appointment in a month when you need weekly appointments. They play with people's mental, emotional, and psychiatric problems. When they should be looking for options for those who need them. Don't wait for someone to take their life because they are ignored and not given the proper help. I hope they read this as a desperate cry.

Fantastic experience: I love wheeler clinic! When I first moved to CT from NY wheeler was the 1st place I went to find a physician. The building is always clean and welcoming. Plus all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Wheeler is perfect for my children and I.

Fantastic experience: Now I can only speak on the Mental Health aspect of Wheeler Clinic. I have known Wheeler Clinic for 15 + years. I'm a strong believer that in no matter what profession you're in or Walk of Life, it's good to take the time for your mental health. Throughout the years customer service has been very courteous and the service providers generally care about the job they do and the progression of there clientele. I've seen them transition from a small location on Farmington avenue, to the location in which they're at currently. They started new services and like with all new changes it does take time to work out the bugs. That does not take away from the care and compassion that Wheeler does give to the individuals in which they serve the ability for them to help themselves as long as they want it. Now I also want to make a comment regarding the pharmacy Genoa the manager there George is very professional and has things in order as long as the paperwork is sent to him. He's very time courteous on dropping off and his employees share the same work ethic. If there are any delays or anything he ensures that he contacts you. During the time in which I've worked with him and his staff he's been very accommodating to me and to the individuals in which I see he works with, so it's definitely a great place to have your medication filled and picked up or dropped to your house if you need to. Wheeler is also always willing to take constructive criticism it's given, especially if it's emailed in writing. Now things I feel they can work on to be better. They need to hire another psychiatrist because it makes the clientele think that there is a lack of care or concern because of time restraints and the ability to have that extra 10 minutes to talk would be beneficial to anyone dealing with Medication Management or Psychological Treatment. Having more therapist and may also be beneficial. Although understanding that we are in a time of financial restraints it would also be extremely helpful if in the future, having more programs and services that are exclusive to program participants that will assist individuals that are within their programs scope. Based on the responses that I see in the reviews section I feel that maybe they should assess order operations with clientele service in their medical and dental departments to ensure that the clients are getting what they need, but as stated previously I had no engagement with the medical as of yet that may change for an assessment. My personal assessment for this facility is 7.6 out of 10. They have room to grow like any other place but they do strive to provide a good service and make an impact for the individuals that they work with.

I lost a loved one due to Wheelers inability to help a patient that continuously kept asking for help The counselors are nasty they don't listen and are very condescending They prescribe medication without proper monitoring . Wish we had never gone there hey prescribe medication without propere monitoring

Negative experience: My habys pediatrician is amazing but the front desk staff over the phone is TERRIBLE. I just called due to that my baby has a slight fever and they hung the phone on me.

Negative experience: The infrastructure is very modern and the clinic is well equipped. The cleanliness is very good and the care of the environments is too. The direct interaction with the healthcare providers Caitlin Minihan and Maria Slajda was excellent. Very approachable people who were very detail-oriented in their work and in the instructions given. Their assistants and nurses were also attentive and dedicated towards us. The issues arose before the appointment. I had to call many times and wait a long time on hold for my call to be accepted. The wait time until the day of my appointment was also prolonged. After my appointment, a problem began that I didn't anticipate. I received the bill for the service provided for which I had requested assistance with the payment, as I currently don’t have insurance. They told me after several months that they had provided me with help, but the bills kept coming and coming. It's not that I didn’t acknowledge the debt, but I needed financial support. Even now I still have problems with the payments. I have had to go in person to try to resolve this. At that moment, even the people responsible for giving me answers could not provide them. I regret giving this rating very much. But that is my direct experience with the clinic. I know that if they take a new direction, they can provide better service from the moment you enter their facilities.
