The CHAS Health North County clinic opened in Deer Park late 2005 and serves North Spokane County including Clayton, Loon Lake, Milan and the surrounding area. Our facility offers a variety of services including access to primary care physicians, pediatric medical care and behavioral health services. In addition, CHAS has Dietitians on staff that offer nutritional counseling, evaluations and interventions.
CHAS is a non-profit, federally funded qualified health center that provides high quality medical care to families and individuals of all ages, regardless of ability to pay.

Negative experience: Alright I will start off by saying this clinic USED to be amazing. Now it's all about how many patients they can get in , in a day. You get maybe 15mins with your provider. I really lost respect for this clinic after my provider called and told me I had cancer asked if I needed counseling or someone to talk to , I said no I'll be alright . we hung up, I figured after a day or so she would let me know what the next steps are, NO. A week later I call an ask what's going on an they tell me oh your provider is on vacation is there something we can help you with? Told her I didn't know what I'm supposed to do now that they say I have cancer? I'm scared AF and my provider just left me high and dry. So the nice nurse lady apologized and said she would help me get it all figured out THANK YOU NURSE! So got the tumor removed and started chemo, finished that so I'm supposed to have a bone scan an mammogram ect just to keep up on it make sure Im cancer free my provider at chas says we'll your bones should be fine your young so I'm not to worried about that and said my oncologist would take care of the rest. Fast forward to july she sends me in for an ultrasound no one calls me for a week or two so I call to check on results nurse says your liver an spleen are enlarged just keep an eye on it an make a follow up with your primary, cool she tries getting me set up for an appointment she is booked up until September 18th okay I'll take it, the day before my appointment they call an cancel saying she is on leave a little longer so they need to reschedule for November 7th . Yeah no I'm done playing this song and dance with this clinic. Even the dentist's are bullshit ,the lady who numbs you up is amazing though . went in to get a filling they are almost done drilling everything and the power goes out the generators aren't giving enough power to do anything so they are trying to finish my tooth with the little power they have , needless to say I still have tooth pain in that tooth.

Negative experience: Went there a few times one their male dentists suck absolutely wouldn't ever recommend any of their male dentists they're rude they do not care about you and they're absolutely gross they have no respect for women. On their doctors side it takes absolutely forever to even get an appointment they're months out even if I need a therapist or mental health services asap when you call the lady's that answer the phones are absolutely rude monotone and do not care about anything or anyone they downright suck overall they are not friendly or inviting.

Negative experience: Just sharing my father's experience from when he took my mentally ill mother here earlier this week. Background- my mother has dementia and epilepsy on top of other extreme health issues. She hasn't been able to visit a doctors office or any public places at all, for the last 2 years because her dementia has made her somewhat intolerable (as it does - anyone that deals with dementia/mentally ill patients understands this). My father was finally able to get my mother to attend the doctors this week, but to my surprise I got a phone call stating that the nurses/lab technicians at the facility were not properly trained at all with how to handle elderly mental patients. This is unacceptable. Despite my mother being intolerable due to her condition, it is the nurses JOB to not antagonize and demean patients. My father told me they were not only going back and forth with my mother, but making rude comments and eye contact as well. I find this extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. I understand mistakes happen, so perhaps more adequate training for appropriate responses and protocols for dealing with such patients NEEDS to happen in order to avoid future issues with this behavior. All patients despite their conditions have the right to appropriate care.

Fantastic experience: Every single person I’ve come in contact with at this place has been nothing short of amazing. You can tell they like where they work and they like what they do and they like the people they are helping. Not to mention that a lot of the patients I assume are low income, and don’t always get treated with respect in our society- but they do here. I appreciate everything and everyone at this clinic!

Fantastic experience: I was reading some of the reviews and thought it odd that there were some pretty negative ones. One of them mentioned my Care Provider, Donna Henry! I’m just saying, that’s so far from the truth! She has been nothing but kind and understanding to me. I even call her, “my sunshine”. She’s always warm an friendly, and always makes me laugh! She listens to everything I have to say, even when my time is up and then talks me through all the solutions. I leave every appointment feeling better than when I came in. So far, after 6yrs, she’s hitting 100% on her diagnosis of my issues. The bad review stated there was no compassion for overweight patients…I’ve been overweight since my first appointment with her. Been loosing weight for last 2 years and she’s been so supportive, encouraging me to be careful about fast weight loss, I’ve lost nearly 150lbs! She’s my sole support team. I now look forward to my appointments so she can see what my new weight is! She’s an incredible provider!!!

Negative experience: Called and schedule an emergency appointment to have a tooth removed because the pain was unimaginable. They scheduled me a 15 minute appointment and then told me it needed to be taken out. Which is what I said when I called and scheduled and when I sat in the chair. They sent me home and gave me nothing for the infected tooth pain. They had no open appointments for another week. Awful scheduling to say the least! Other than that the dental assistant was very kind

Fantastic experience: I had my first appointment at this Chas location about three weeks ago. I only had to wait a few minutes before seeing my provider and he took the time to listen to all my concerns and address them. I will be sticking with this provider as my new PCP.

Negative experience: The staff for the medical clinic are nice enough I guess. The pharmacy staff are pretty rude. The lady doing consultations all but screamed my specific medical condition across the room. The way the staff laughed behind her made me feel they were demeaning me…… I DO NOT recommend coming here

Fantastic experience: Wonderful. You can tell the medical staff are here because they care, not just for the money. Front desk and pharmacy treat everyone kindly and do their best to help. I'm not sure about the appropriateness of naming people specifically, but my dad's primary caregiver is just awesome. Honest. Obviously is concerned about his well-being.

Fantastic experience: The dentist can be a scary place, pain is not usually a good feeling. had a stubborn tooth removed they did a great job making the process as pain free as they could have. Tooth was wedged in place, nearly needing surgery, they got it out this time. Thank you Chas

Negative experience: In my 72 years I have never experienced a worse clinic than Chas. They discriminate against elderly patients who have hearing disabilities. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been hung up on because of my disability. Example: Several days ago I called & said I needed to bring in some paperwork & needed to talk to the Dr’s Assistant who I had been working with. Now I had my Mom’s Case Worker (who is a retired EMT worker) there, & when this guy hung up on me, she was incredulous. She couldn’t believe how he talked to me. I said well that’s CHAS, that’s how I have always been treated. She was like, you have a disability, & they should know how to handle that. I’ve had misdiagnosis from them. They don’t listen to you. They will work very hard to keep from helping you. Your just a number that walks through that door & their only concern is the bottom line. MONEY!! I would never recommend this Clinic to anyone.

Negative experience: The dentistry office screwed up my filling . When I had it filed down to help get a spur they tried to bill me for it. Also I had a physical and blood work done showing that I was perfectly healthy. They asked if I wanted a flu shot and I said no why would I... Their answer was because your medical coverage covers it. That is the stupidest answer. 2 stars was just because most of the staffing was kind.

Fantastic experience: I came here for dental work 1/18/2023. Dr. Scott Joslin & his dental assistant were absolutely phenomenal. They did 3 fillings in what seemed like record time and they were both super friendly. Scott even ground the sharp spot off a tooth I stupidly chipped a few years ago. Dr Joslin did an exceptional job at doing the numbing shots. Both spots he put them went numb almost instantly and my tongue wasn't completely numb the whole time. Absolutely the best dental experience I've had. Thank you!!

Negative experience: Chas is a joke when it comes to trying to set up an appt or trying to return a call. No one ever knows what's going on. They need customer service in their own locations along with their own phone number so it is easier to resolve an issue within a clinic location. And why is it ok for Dr's to only work one day a week in office and cancel/reschedule your appts? RUDE!

Fantastic experience: My drive-up covid testing experience at north county chas was absolutely wonderful. I wish I could give 5 thousand stars! Kim was the health care worker that assisted my son and I. Her sincere kindness touched my heart and I'll never forget her helpfulness. The level of care and understanding was beyond measure. Negative experience: They have the best pharmacy department but the worst dental department in the whole Inland North West. I do NOT recommend getting any dental care at all there. You will come out in more pain than you came in for a cleaning. When I call in to report the situation they just didn’t care and said that is the way it is. Well NO that is not acceptable care for a patient. Stay away from their dental staff. They should all be fired.

Negative experience: You need a dedicated phlebotomist! I am seriously considering a new facility because the wait for lab work is ridiculous! Nearly an hour this time & 45 minutes last time!
Negative experience: I was tested for covid on Tuesday out of an abundance of caution. The woman administering the test told me they usually get the results in 2 days. I live with high risk people and have been shut in my room since the test it is Monday now with no results. I have called repeatedly with no real answer. This is just more of the usual from CHAS as they seem to know the majority of their patients have no other option so they can be as lazy and careless as they want. If you can go somewhere else I would highly recommend it.

Negative experience: Went in for a tooth killing me. Well that was only a consult, came back 10 days later and he couldn't numb me enough. Went back after 4 days of antibiotics and he still couldn't pull the tooth. Took 16 days to get into the oral surgeon of his choice. Now a week after the tooth pulled, I called to make my first restoration appointment and find that they are so book for cleanings that I have to wait another 5 weeks for a cleaning before he will fix the other damage. I would really like to finish the work before 2021, obviously I'm going to find another dentist.

Negative experience: The doctor I was assigned as my primary care attributes any issue as weight related even if it's an allergy. I do not recommend this chas location if you want to be treated like a human being. Or at the very least, don't see Donna Henry

Negative experience: I have been going to Chas off and on for several years for the exact same symptoms. I was told by TWO of your doctors that ‘based on my symptoms, you don’t have endometriosis’. I have been miserable for several years because of this. First off, how can the doctors even be sure that I don't have it considering the only way to actually diagnose endometriosis is through surgery? Second....I am now a week post op from having a hysterectomy and guess what my doctor found!? A significant amount of endometriosis. I diagnosed myself and I have no medical training. Chas and it’s doctors are a joke.

Negative experience: My daughters first visit with the dental department upstairs was horrible. The dentist was harsh, horrible bedside manner and mean to by two year old and shamed me for not forcing a tooth brush in her mouth every single day three times a day. Also, my daughter had blood work done and the blood work results were delivered to me over a week late, and then the results given to me were misread and I was misinformed about the health condition of my daughter. They later called me and told me the correct results and that she would be referred to a specialist. I had to call them and make them send the referral almost a week after they told me they were going to do it. Also, for the health issue that is of concern, they are supposed to do imaging tests after the blood work is done and before they send her to a specialist and that wasnt done either. Doctors and nurses are human too and allowed to make mistakes and have off days, but this was just too much for me. I will be taking my child elsewhere from now on.

Negative experience: Short review; they are not accommodating to those with mental illnesses or mental disorders. When I was sick they took me same day without establishing an intake appointment (I had transferred from the Valley clinic). I didn't realize they never told me what I was sick with until I got better. It would be nice to know what I had. I was on walk-in scheduling and was told on Feb. 22 I could begin making appointments. I did call in and was told I couldn't make appointments still but the woman would talk to her supervisor and call me back. Two weeks went by and realizing I was almost out of my medication I called back. Basically they told me I had to show up at the door at 730AM and wait to be seen. I do not get home until 1AM from work. I work 40+ hours a week with multiple mental disorders and being told that made me go into a mild breakdown. This tells me they do not value their patients or care for them. I would transfer back to the Valley Clinic (I had excellent care there) but driving over an hour to get there and often being stuck in traffic, their cancellation system isn't very forgiving. So with that last phone call, I am switching my health care provider. Why should I continue seeing a health care team about my health if they do not even consider my mental health?

Positive experience: All the employees and the physician assistant was very nice. However, I would not recommend one of the doctors in the Deer Park clinic because she has absolutely no PR skills and is not very sympathetic to your circumstance.

Negative experience: Im not a dentist, but I needed some dental work and called in to make appointments. My first visit I came in they literally just looked at my teeth and did nothing, 2nd they took pictures and did nothing, 3rd they finally fixed my problem tooth just the one, then scheduled me for 4 visits to clean my teeth. Before my otherothings they wanted to do.Now I'm on some deal were I have to call in for walk in appointments cause I've had to reschedule twice. I have to drive an hour and a half just to get there, my feelings are if you could of managed to consolidate your time when I was there we could be a lot farther on my care. So to be honest it's just been a big waste of my time to be seen here so far, I'm just as busy as you are but that seems to be your last care obviously.
