Positive experience: My spouse was rushed to ER on December 27, 2024 which of course holiday weekend with skeleton crew working. Very understaffed expectedly. The ER staff was fantastic and even in spite being short handed were awesome, especially the doctor on call. After being admitted though my opinion changed. We were on the 3rd floor and the staff doctor didn’t know whether to wind her butt or scratch her watch (as the old saying goes). I do have to give a massive kuddos to one employee though. Her name is Angela Johnson who is the patient care associate, I truly would not have survived the 3 day ordeal without this beautiful human being who truly went up and beyond. She didn’t just look after my spouse but me as well to the point of getting me to my car and coming to check on me when the hospital had her working on other floors. She is a true godsend

Negative experience: Terrible! Not the BR General of the past. Took hours to figure out my mother had a stroke. They do not call you if you are away from the patient. No communication whatsoever. Employees sit around on their phones or BS with one another. It's been 2 days and no washcloths, no soap in the bathroom in the room. Have been to General at least 6 times so far this year with family and it'sl been mostly negative. Just do your job!!

Fantastic experience: Baton Rouge General Hospital always puts on a cute little light show each year. Talk about, "Light Up The Night!" This beautiful light display is about a 30 minute walk thru and its free! A perfect thing to do with family, friends, or couples who want to get into the spirit of Christmas. Its also a perfect place to get that Christmas picture. Located right across the road from The Mall of Louisiana. Plan a night with the mall, dinner, and lights!

Negative experience: Please do not see Lauren Tillery at Br General Zachary LA. She does not care about her patients health. Went to ER on several occasions. Made an appointment and she treated my symptoms like it wasn't a big deal. Wouldn't refill prescription from ER. I feel like she just gaslight you. I wouldn't recommend her to treat anyone

Fantastic experience: I had a 4 night and 1 day stay at this beautiful hospital. I was treated like the queen I am. Dr Gordon thank you so much for giving me back my pain free life. (When I enter the hospital I was informed I wouldn't be going home due to gall bladder stones). You did a phenomenal job!!!!! Each Dr who spoke with me "thank you." You shared some valuable and informative information. You spoke to me in layman's terms. I appreciate it. Christi, you're the best nurse I've ever had!!! Your response time was expeditious. I hope you didn't get upset with me needing extreme pain relief. Nurses Christian, Luke and there was another lady (night nurse) thank you so much for caring. Latonya and all the ladies on the PCA team thank you. Carol, my brother had fun talking with you. Thank you for your service. Byouki, the only phlebotomist who could draw my blood. THANK YOU room 4426

Fantastic experience: Great experience from start to finish. The ER was quick to bring me back and get the process rolling . Admittance to the hospital was timely and organized. During my 3 night, 4 day stay… the healthcare team was stellar!! Dr. Anaji, Chelsey, Crystal, Ms. Deon, Ms. Kim, Armani, and the rest of my 4th floor team were informative and awesome. SO lively, friendly, attentive and kept me laughing and feeling positive throughout my stay. So thankful to have such a great team looking after me. MANY, MANY thanks to yall. Negative experience: Horrible experience. A complete sham. Cancer patient with a head injury. I’m lightheaded. Waiting in lobby for a room for an hour. However had time to do an EKG and CT scan so now I’m stuck here and can’t go anywhere else due to the fact that my insurance may not pay for more testing. Not even sure what to do at this point. This may be my last google review I ever make.

Negative experience: Thought I would throw my two cents in I don't know if there is a good Hospital out there but this one is not one of them. 7 hours in the ER bed never offered a glass of water but then tell me I'm dehydrated and I need to stay the night. Why so you can bill my insurance $10,000? I hope the general reads this and maybe realizes that they're supposed to be in the business of patient care first money second

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would. I went here for an ovarian cyst rupture which I made clear multiple times, yet the doctors kept asking "So you're here for some bleeding?" They gave me an IV and didn't tell me what they were giving me. I waited for 7 hours. The doctor and nurse did not know what an IUD was. The doctor told me "if your cyst ruptured you wouldn't be able to talk to me because of pain" yet everyone handles pain different. Just because I have a high pain tolerance does not mean I'm not in pain. If I wasn't in pain, I wouldn't be in the ER. I had to argue with the doctor to get my results from my ultrasound. After begging for my results, he says see you have a tiny cyst which before it was you're not pregnant and just on your period so go home. I continued to tell him my cyst was 8 cm and is now 2 cm, so it has definitely ruptured (which causes extreme pain and requires medical attention). After doing his job for him, he goes well thats a good thing then it is smaller. Did not offer any pain medicine or anything to deal with a 8 cm cyst rupture. Do not go here!

Negative experience: Been going here since 2019 and I'm extremely disappointed with today's experience. They refused to let us pay out of pocket because I have Medicaid and they don't accept it. Fantastic experience: I want to thank BRGH for the best hospitality people in the world. Nurses Doctors and all, every single employee has been so kind, helpful, loving and I love this hospital. My name is Audrey I had a child at 45yrs old here. Woman's turned me away. My insurance restricted my prenatal care but the kind knowledgeable staff here treated me with so much respect. I would recommend all women in BR ,LA to try BRGH for having a high risk child birth. This has been an awesome experience.Thank you DONYA, and all nurses, Drs and God Bless you and keep you.

Negative experience: I'm really not sure that anyone has a clue how-to care for mentally ill patients. It's sad. I get that if a patient is here for orthopedic care, that the team may not be equipped for other issues. But making sure the patient gets medication is not that hard. I've got pictures of 4 pills on the floor in his room. I understand that the medical profession is understaffed and overworked. But we've got to do better. I'm a 57 year old daughter of an 83 year old father with dementia. I have cancer myself and do as much as I can. My father does NOT sleep. I've never seen anything like it. If anyone reading this has any ideas, suggestions, please let me know. He's broken both hips and had surgery on both in the last 4 months. So the dementia is in overdrive. Nurses are very sweet and helpful when we are here. But I can't be here 24/7. Thanks for listening and I hope every patient is getting better.

Negative experience: Trash. The wait time for the emergency is disgusting. You have to come in here convulsing to be seen. I came in literally throat shutting by the minute due to a severe allergic reaction. I came in at 3 it took till 5 just to get seen and ontop of that they had my information wrong. And here I am still at 7 waiting for them to do something and nothing has happened.

Negative experience: This is one of the worst hospitals i’ve ever been to! My sister came to the emergency department for severe aching in both ears. It took almost two hours for her to see someone with little to no one in waiting. Once finally checked by someone, it then took another whole hour for them to come back with the “General Practitioner” who took the longest for results! This hospital deserves -5 stars!

Negative experience: It seams like BR General has rolled out a new my chart app in 2024 for you to leave a message gor your doctor, however is does not seam like they taught the staff to us it because I have left several messages on several different occasions with still no response to my message. I calleeld one time and asked them not to send a message though the app because I already did that and no response they told me told hold on and went to get the nurse. Well that solved that one issue but here we go again. Someone is going to end up sueing BR General over this and I am sure a lot of peole will be right there with them. Lets see if I get the normal AI response from a company.

Negative experience: Don't bother going to the emergency room here if you happen to be visibly vomiting blood. You'll be made to wait 6 hours while literally everyone else, from children bouncing off the chairs to people laughing on their phones, are seen before you. And when you ask how much longer it will be, you'll be told they basically forgot about you and "don't know what happened". I don't think their ER staff know what triage means.

Negative experience: My mom, who had dementia & grand mal epilepsy, was admitted into the Baton Rouge General off Bluebonnet for mild pneumonia & a UTI. The first night, the nurses attempted to use a PureWick catheter, and then didn’t check her to see if the devise was working, much less that she to be cleaned for 12 hours. The devise was not working & she had been wet for probably 10 hours when the PCA cleaned her off. Then shortly after that, my mom started to throw up & I was paging the nurse for over five minutes- no one even answered. Once I felt comfortable leaving my mom, I went to the nurses station to find the charge nurse to report both of these issues. The nurse informed me that the phones & paging system were not working in several rooms including our room. For the next few days I took turns with my stepfather to watch over my mom to make sure she wasn’t neglected & kept the staff checking her every few hours. After a five day stay, with her still having pneumonia & a UTI, she was discharged. I arrived at the same time the transportation came to pick her up to bring her back to St. James Place, where she has been for past three years, two nurses and two PCA’s came to transfer my mom from the bed to the wheelchair. To my shock, she was thoroughly soiled, through three pads and the sheet underneath her had diarrhea on it. I told the nurses that she needed to be cleaned off before we leave. I have no doubt that they were going to send my mom on her way without cleaning her up. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that they simply ripped off the brief & three nasty pads right out from underneath her WHILE SHE WAS SITTING IN THE WHEELCHAIR. They didn’t clean her at all, and one nurse was arguing with me that it was simply urine, when I could see the feces on her and the bedsheet. I have never seen anything so inhumane, so uncaring, so completely disgusting in my life. They were capable of returning my mom to the bed, cleaning her off correctly, and then putting her back in the wheelchair, yet all four staff members chose to treat her with no dignity, like an inanimate object rather than a 75 year old lady of beauty and class. Then, if that wasn’t bad enough, they did not issue any continuous care by writing a prescription for antibiotics after she was discharged. We ran another test when she got back to St. James Place, and she most definitely still had pneumonia & a UTI. Between the time it took for the test results & the doctor at St. James Place not being vigilant, it was a full five days before my mom received another script of antibiotics. My mom died seven days later. This was complete negligence on the part of the Baton Rouge General. Had they kept her clean, she would have recovered. I’m seriously considering suing. The fact is that the staff simply didn’t want to change her “dirty diapers.” Since then I have heard from nurses who previously worked at the General that this was common practice & this treatment didn’t surprise them at all.

Negative experience: I’m currently here admitted for post operation recovery. I was just here in May for an ileostomy and had a great experience with maybe a few hiccups as opposed to this time whereas I’ve only had one good nurse who actually did his job. All the staff/nurses/techs are lazy and show absolutely no compassion. I reported them to the hospitalist and her response I will pass the message on so obviously nothing will get done as nothing has changed. I have quite extensive food allergies and they never sent the right foods and therefore I didn’t eat much but that’s not even the worst of it-I needed up getting an infection while here due to the incompetence of the nurses addressing my symptoms early on could have easily prevented this. I just pray it gets addressed and these nurses are reprimanded so they don’t end up having negligent charges or even worse murder or homicide as mentioned in other posts. And Baton Rouge General please don’t wast your time typing your heartless automatic response to all of these messages as I know nothing will get done. I just want others to be aware of the blatant disregard for humans. Thank You and God Bless

I have been in this hospital twice before this stay just within the last several months (for different reasons). I am so sorry that I did not go to another facility. Right now, sitting on the edge of the bed , waiting for over a hour to have a staff member come in to give me a clean gown, change my bedding and wash me up a bit. Nurse came in and moved my finished lunch tray and just walked out and I never saw anyone since. Doctor's here are quick to give me news of amputation to my foot when it is completely not the case! I need to be discharged from here and seen elsewhere for my Healthcare! Stay away from Baton Rouge General. I know there short staffing just about everywhere these days but this place takes it to extreme for being a hospital.

Negative experience: I was rushed there yesterday and was kept in the hall of the emergency room all day. They would not feed me, nor give me a drink of water. They did a couple of test but never told me anything except a doctor would come talk to me. About 6 pm they said I could go home but I didn’t t have a way so they did call me a cab. But as I was about to leave they told me nothing was wrong with me. So why was I there. My name is Priscilla Cook there should be zero below stars for places that treat you like this.

Negative experience: The literal worst ER I have ever been to in my life. No one knows what’s going on, the communication between staff is just sad and they are either severely understaffed or just bad at their jobs. There are patients stacked all through the ER department like sardines.

Negative experience: Husband came in from a satellite brg needing heart surgery. In general, nurses didn’t know what was going on. Argued with us about when surgery was and then erased it from the board when they discovered they were wrong. Nurses didn’t give correct meds, barely checked on my husband, I saw a nurse watching a movie on her cell phone (she quickly turned it off when she saw me looking at it), another nurse argued with us that a specialist didn’t see my husband (later hand wrote the doctor’s name on a piece of paper), told me to go get my husband water when he was out, another nurse just handed my husband a container to urinate in when he had to go to the bathroom and left the room (he was still mobile but connected to machines), they didn’t keep track of urine output despite dr’s request and being on a diuretic, etc. my husband was terrified to sleep there bc of the incompetence. We will never go here again.

Negative experience: I came to tye hospital for bad chest pains with nausea shortness of breath radiating pain left jaw and shoulder feel like 500 pound weight on my chest history of heart attack with stint and pacemaker defibrillator combo and hypertrophic cardio myopothy with bridging and have been sitting in the lobby over 2 hours while people with colds and sprains that came in long after me are taken back . I've never seen a hospital do that with cardiac patient. The nurse came out told me my cardiac enzymes are elevated and they were wanting to get me back to be put on monitors and yet a hour later I am still in the lobby and having issues

In the middle of the night a employee woke me up at 2 o'clock in the morning and explained to me that the hospital wasn't responsible for lost or stolen goods. Negative experience: Honestly I see how black people die in the ER. Dr Jones and his nurse on 7/31 was the nastiest people I've encountered. They literally showed me they don't give a damn about people of color. The Dr came in nasty asking me why did I come here and NOT my primary. He didn't do anything but wanted to give me pain meds, sir you don't even know what's wrong with me.i rarely goes to the hospital probably 4 years since I been here and I see why. Olol been off my list and I won't ever step foot in BRG again. It's definitely a JOB they have NO compassion for anyone. I really don't trust white ppl and this the reason they're HEARTLESS towards black ppl!

SHE'S SUPPOSED TO GET HER MEDICATIONS EVERY THREE HOURS WHY DOES IT TAKE AN HOUR AND 15 MINUTES AFTER WHEN SHE'S SUPPOSED TO GET MEDICATIONS TO THE TIME SHE ACTUALLY GETS HER MEDICATIONS? Negative experience: Overall there are a few good doctors and nurses that work there but honestly I just feel that no one cares about their job…just my opinion. The wait times are ridiculous and they are certainly understaffed. It’s a hospital for God’s sake!. When going to the emergency room there is no reason we should be waiting for 3 hours with a crisis!. I feel that at least someone at the desk should let people know what they are walking into. When walking up to the desk the lady was on her phone with a lobby only with a few people only and out of those few people at least 3 people left within the time of sitting there for 3 hours plus it’s the weekend. This isn’t the first time we’ve had to sit around and wait but the staff could be better especially when getting to the back having to sit in the hallway is horrible. There’s no privacy or patient confidentiality when you are in the hallway amongst other patients! FIX IT!

Fantastic experience: I have recently experienced the ER waiting rooms of this and Lady of the lake both twice. The waiting room was much nicer at the Baton Rouge General as well as less violent yet I shouldn't have to say that. There was literally a fight that required police presence at the ER waiting room at the Lady of the Lake. As for the nursing staff, the Baton Rouge General had a nicer staff with more knowledgeable providers overall. The attached photo is from the 6th floor of a nice sunset.

Negative experience: My mom has been in the hospital since Christmas eve. She left and had to come back was extremely disappointed when I found out they took out the mini refrigerators from from the rooms because I used it for me when I spent the night and also for my mom to keep drinks cold and food from spoiling. Negative experience: I admitted my older Brother for a mental evaluation. The Behavior unit staff once my Brother was on the floor was extremely rude, unprofessional, and overstepped their scope of duty as healthcare workers. My concerns for my Brother were to get Him care for all of His medical and neurological needs. Some of the Behavior unit staff at Mid-City do not know how to interact with Family nor understand legalities pertaining to the patient. I would suggest moral and ethics training for all parties involved.

Positive experience: I brought my daughter to the ER at Baton Rouge General. She was in a great deal of pain and it did not take long for her to be accessed and given medications. Up to this point, she had been in contact with 5 personnel, only 1 introduced themselves. She finally got a bed in the hallway, which was fine because she was feeling better. However, no one advised what her plan of care was. There was a group of non medical personnel in the hallway who were laughing as if they were in a social setting. I won't even be specific about the language being used. This was so unprofessional.

Negative experience: I came in because I have long Covid and almost died several months ago from clotting! I recently got off the thinners and started experiencing difficulty breathing. I just wanted to be sure I wasn’t clotting without the thinners! So I was triaged and set up with billing and back to the crowded waiting room where I only left for events like blood drawing or X-ray / scan then right back! I was in the crowded waiting room with an IV port in the oddest place on my arm for hours. I know they were busy but they were short and snappy when I just asked at the desk what was going on. I just wanted to go home after I found out I didn’t have any clots, but apparently there’s a long process of just sitting in the waiting room , waiting! Our lady of the lake Never did this to me or waited with Out ever seeing a doctor this long! I am about to leave AMA with an IV port in my arm and ekg stickers all over me because of the unsanitary almost prison like scenario with the big guards wearing bullet proof vests marching around like the sick are gonna turn into zombies and attack! Lol this place just needs help and staff or whatever! I forgot to mention the horrible stench in the waiting room!

Negative experience: I went today with my husband to visit one of the cardiologist at BRG on Bluebonnet. The traffic was a little backed up so we arrived less than ten minutes late. He hadn’t seen the cardiologist in a while so he had to complete paperwork again (no one informed him until we arrived). Someone approached him while he was completing the paperwork and advised him that he had to reschedule because his name “was scratched off since he was late.” This was a complete waste of time and gas. I am so disappointed with BRG right now. Everyone is trying to get home because of the holidays. I’m so glad he was only trying to get a checkup and it isn’t serious. What if someone really needed to see a cardiologist? Shame on you BRG!!

Negative experience: I had my daughter at this hospital however, on October 13, 2010 I had a heart attack on the operating table while delivering my daughter. CSection . The anesthesiologist asked me was I ok and I said no , I feel pressure in my chest. She said nothing else to me as I said just please get my daughter out. The staff never told me I had an heart attack . Sadly , I got back to my home town and had another one after I finished the ibuprofen. 7 weeks later. I ended up in ICU in Rustin Louisiana under the care of Dr. Langullli. A cardiologist that informed me what happened to me in the operating table At Baton Rouge General Hospital. I lived through it all but there was definitely negligence at Baton Rouge General Hospital. I came to visit my sister in the city in Baton Rouge and ended up having my daughter there. I was from Jonesboro Louisiana. Early ti mid 30s of age. I would never recommend anyone there . Sadly. They never said a word about my heart enzymes to me or my family

Negative experience: Terrible place to go for an emergency. when I went they had a lot of patients and it seemed as if no one was being treated and looked at. The doctors/nurses were unprofessional regarding their tone and treatment with me. I went in with bad pain and told the front desk I was having a possible miscarriage and instead of taking me in right away I was told to wait in the seating are. I waited for more than an hour until I was called. I ended up miscarrying my baby. After the miscarriage I had to wait an additional hour just to be discharged from the hospital. A few months later I am pregnant again and went in regarding the same pain as a miscarriage pain and waited in the emergency area and no one called me so I left. Overall I do not recommend anyone to this emergency center especially if it’s a life on the line.

Negative experience: I wish I had read reviews before taking my adult autistic child with a feeding tube for help getting it out. I repeatedly told the docs and nurses that I couldn't remove it and I won't hurt him like that. Sat there 2 1/2 hours for them to ignore my pleas for help removing/ replacing only for them to discharge him not being able to be fed tonight so far. This hospital really needs to up their standards of care. Everyone that works there look like they hate their jobs and apparently do not even listen. It's like talking to robots. You have to repeat and repeat so they can spew useless information. Never taking him here again. We' are now sitting at our lady at 3:17 in the morning and we're exhausted. Ridiculous.

They took forever to even get me checked in, they gave me a COVID test and flu test. By then I had been waiting two hours still with the worst headache ever. After three hours of waiting, and no results from those tests, I decided to leave. Nobody checked me for the headache, I could have been having something serious but nobody cared! Negative experience: I would highly not recommend coming here because I went here and I waited 4 hours to find out and I quote “you have either a kidney infection or a uti we can’t tell” and not to mention that’s not what I went in there for. I went in cause I had been vomiting for nearly 72 hour before I went. I didn’t even make it past the waiting room… only blood tests(7 whole tubes worth) and a urine test. Oh and another thing is they got me mixed up with someone else and stuck an iv in my arm saying imma have a ct scan but nope 3 hours later I find out I’m being discharged… with no info on what was wrong… so I got an iv that hurt and low key traumatized me cause it was about to become freaking piercing… I will never go back ever again. Also look at what the lady did when she drew blood

Fantastic experience: My elderly dad was transported by ambulance to BR General ER today with Covid & a fall where he was treated with the utmost care & respect. They were thorough with vast testing consisting of Blood,urine,X-rays & CT Scan which were fine. The Doctor and Physician assistant had amazing bedside manners & very compassionate. His nurses Claude & Jill definitely love their career and their patients. Claude was so gentle on his IV and attentive to his IV liquids for dehydration was his diagnosis. The nurses aid (perhaps)who assisted in my dad using the restroom helped my dad keep his dignity and went above and beyond in cleaning him and fitting him in an adult diaper. His pain meds were giving to him while waiting to be discharged back to his amazing Home @ Harvest Manor. Thank you so very much Baton Rouge General ER, excellent team work!

Negative experience: My brother was a most unfortunate patient at Bluebonnet & your General Location on many occasions - so much so that your staff care lead to his death! Like another comment said - Baton Rough General is a HORRIBLE PLACE to have to bring your loved one to!!!!! Granted my brother was a very ill man - but his initial care was so missed managed by staff doctors - it left him headed on a path of additional health problems and resulted in his death at this facility. Not only mis-managed medical care, but also the staff nurses were unreasonably unprofessional in their patient & family compassion. Life is a gift from God - the same God that gives talent to professionals like Doctors and Nurses and many other other medical professional. So many unkind events at this facility drives me to take the time to submit my comment. Lawsuit

Negative experience: This experience was definitely mixed with good professionalism and lethargic, immature behavior. My loved one was having post operation complications and was admitted through ER. While there, we waited for hours on the hall before receiving a room. Once we got a room on the 4th floor the nursing staffs were hit or miss depending on shifts. One nurse in particular named Ariel was very immature and lacked professionalism due to having a fragile ego. Alot of them were lazy, the button had to be hit a few times before they would come and check on the patient. Meanwhile, you walk by the nurse's station and they are sitting there gossiping. Those workers on that floor need some convergence training on class, maturity and how to truly be a professional.

Negative experience: From being sent to ER by oncologist with breathing emergency, ICU for 3 days, General floor for 2, supposed to transfer to cancer floor, being made to wait all day for the move that was supposed to only take one hour, no doctors or residents reading chart, his personal dr not caring enough to even call and check on him, wrong diet (he is diabetic), being asked over and over and over again what has brought him in, his medications being wrong even though it is all in his chart (I had to call our pharmacy for a list of actual meds, strengths, and dosages), refusal to give nausea med because it was not in his “as needed” list, etc. I spoke with Staff Services and mysteriously started getting some responses from all the staff but he has waited for 12 hours for a room we were told was open. Apparently BRG computers were HACKED last night and all computers have been down all day. He could have gotten better care from housekeeping at the Marriott.

Fantastic experience: Best Children's Speech and Occupational Therapy! We had the best experience at BR General Bluebonnet location. Thankfully we started Speech Therapy with Megan Dewberry and Occupational Therapy with Amy Wintz early (around age 2). Through their help in office and parent coaching for me to continue at home, we graduated therapy within a year! It’s amazing the progress my little one made in such a short period of time. I am forever grateful for our time together. My son still asks when we are going back to see Megan and Amy because he loved them so much!

Negative experience: *edited* [As I suspected would happen, owner’s response indicated that they did not thoroughly read my review.] The ER staff were wonderful except for a few that were unprofessional by cursing a lot and using the “F” bomb in their normal conversation. Although the staff were nice and understanding, it was very tiresome to be asked at least 10 times (no exaggeration) what brought me in. I was stuck in hallway on a gurney overnight. I’m pretty laid back and easygoing, did not ask for much but the daytime nurses in ICU treated me like I was waisting their time because I was an overflow patient. Was told by GH that they were out of rooms (some said short staffed). Daytime nurses complained too much about corporate and other patients. They were extremely rude towards my family. My sister overheard one of the nurses say that I “was just a floor patient”. I was waiting to have a pacemaker installed. Night time nurses in ICU were absolute angels. I stayed two nights in ICU. The only reason why I came to General was because my cardiologist admitted me there. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Positive experience: Hit or miss some of the staff are great while others(gift shop) are no where to be found even though they have to park in the handicapped spaces closest to the front door... I mean really you need to be parked closest to the door..at a hospital.. it's irresponsible at the very least.

Negative experience: My family and I were here for a surprise bday party for the weekend, my husband became sick on Sunday and was rushed to the ER. NURSE ( Valarie) was so rude to us. When someone is in pain they DON'T need you yelling and making funny faces like you're disgusted, your job is to be as comforting as possible. I PRAY that we NEVER have to use the services again.

Negative experience: My mom came in for a knee replacement and was released with more problems then she had. The next morning after her surgery she coded due to negligence on the lazy nurses. I repeatedly told the nurse my mom sounded strange in her sleep only for them to keep telling me oh its her Anastesia. My mom is now home thank God, but I wouldn't refer this hospital to my worst enemy. Too many travel nurses with not enough training on the machines to check for vitals, they don't change the patients, and they don't check vitals like they should

Fantastic experience: I recently had surgery at this facility and I am writing this to recognize the entire staff as a staff of excellence. I couldn't have been more pleased with the care I received from admissions,to the nurses, to anesthesiologists, doctors, and everyone else who were involved with my stay. Thank you Baton Rouge General and just know if I could give you more stars I would!

Negative experience: If you go to the clinic, watch your wallet, even if you have insurance. Case in point: $648 for a routine health screening with lab. No warning, no quote, no nothing. Even after insurance, it's 3x market value. $168 of this is for "professional services," essentially when a doctor comes in and re-asks you what you already told the receptionist on the phone. Doctor: "So, here for a screening, huh? That'll be $168 just for me asking you a ridiculous question I already know the answer to." I thought this was a trust-able place for quality care, but it's the shady Last Chance Garage of clinics. Stay away.
