Fantastic experience: Our experience with this hospital has been above expectations. My husband was admitted for cardiac observation and his Nurse Tyler Plant was beyond amazing!! His care and understanding and ability to get things done was our Christmas miracle!! We would highly recommend the vascular department at this hospital!!

Fantastic experience: This 5 star review is going to start off with praise for Corey and Aspen, who took care of me the other night. Corey made such a comfortable environment for me to be in, he put my mom at ease when she had a couple of her frantic moments as moms usually do lol, and just made me feel so safe. Basically he brought such a “chill spot” vibe to the room where it honestly just felt like we were here to just hangout, all the while he’s answering questions, some that hadn’t even been asked yet, and the best part? If you’re a man, and I fart in front of you and not worry about, that means that’s a real solid human being. THATS a trustworthy man right there. There I said it. I said it, meant it, and I’d fart about it again. Aspen, is nothing short of incredible. She checked in on me regularly, did things I never even requested just bc she knew it would help, I almost felt like she was spoiling me but she was just doing her job. And let’s just be so for real here, if there ever is a cure for cancer, it’s her smile. She just has the face for healing. I lost a lot of memory of my first couple days there, so a few other guardian angels on staff deserve my praise as well, I just wish I could remember their names lol. Every single person who was assigned to me was 100/10 and I simply could not ask for better care than what I received. Thank you with my entire life for helping me redirect my life path ❤️

Negative experience: My mom has been there 3 times for high blood pressure and they keep dismissing it and sending her on her way with another med on top of what she’s already taking for her blood pressure

Negative experience: Ha what a joke this place. They push great doctors and nurses out like Dr. Alexander. Employees that truly care for their patients get in trouble for advocating bc they have an entire herd of incompetent staff with zero compassion and empathy. Leadership is disgusting. Blessings core values are preached by hypocrites. It’s a money business. Literally go anywhere else other than this joke of a place. You’d be safer and happier treating yourself at home.

My 5 month old son is sick and we took him here and the one of the cna’s or nurses told me I couldn’t come back to his patient room only his mom could cause two people is too much. MY 5 MONTH OLD SON AND I COUDNT GO WITH HIM TO MAKE SURE HE WAS OK OR TO SEE WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIM. HOW IS THE OTHER HALF OF HIS PARENTS TOO MANY PEOPLE?

Negative experience: Dr. David Leiber, Urology should be disciplined . I have reported his bad conduct to Blessing Hospital Systems and the State Medical Board. I would advise people to NEVER use this Dr. He is a fraud, he scheduled an appointment and charged me , but provided no care because I am a woman. He gave me MALE catheters because they were free. This so called DR.told he doesn't treat females.....why did his office schedule an appointment I needed and waited months for? The Blessing Hospital System advertises this person provides care for both men snd women. Is this a lawsuit.....we will see.

Negative experience: Place is a joke. In severe pain for over an hour and crying. Couldn't hardly walk they got me a wheelchair.The CNA that took me back to my room and my CT tech had more concern about me than my own nurse Caleb and my doctor, Doctor Eckersley. I cried in pain for over an hour and the nurse never came back to my room after he went to see what meds the doctor ordered. When my CT tech came in and saw me crying she went to let the doctor and nurse know, she felt so bad for me. Nothing happened until 12:40 a.m, when the doc came in my room and went over everything and said he would get me something for pain. Well over an hour goes by again, and then the discharge nurse forgot my medicine, goes and gets it. "oh he ordered baclofen" well that's not what he told me. So I get sent home in severe horrible pain still crying and limping out. Wasted time and lies from the doctor and my nurse. Both should be fired for negligence to a patient. I would give a zero or negative of possible.

Negative experience: It would really be nice when you called to talk to nurse if they would return your call, my family member cannot speak on the phone at this time and I would really like some information about how they're doing but the nurses will not call you back

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough thank you to all the nurses that took care of me today. They all had great sense of humors and personalities and were very professional. I truly wish a knew all there names because the where the best. As for the doctor i can't begin to thank him enough he was 100%. Dr. Joseph Acevedo has been the best since I've been seeing him. He has always been on the up and up with me about everything. Today was surgery and he took the time to come in and talk with me even when he had other Patience ahead of me. Again I can't say enough thank you to all the ppl. Blessing these ppl where great. I hope ever reads these reviews and personally tell them all thank you for me. Negative experience: This place fires good nurses who actually know what they’re doing for sticking up for themselves, but yet they keep the ones that don’t have a clue. Love the fact that they also try to get nurses to do things out of their scope of practice. When issues where brought to management they did not want to listen. Blessing is going to get what it deserves. I’m looking forward to working with the EEOC and IDHR over this.

Negative experience: My dad was at the er on Wednesday with a low bp and his urine was dark orange and i demanded for the dr to test it cause something was wrong and he said just because some asked us to do testing we don't do it. Well guess what my dad has a uti and is on antibiotics i want that dr fired for not doing what he should have done

Negative experience: I took a resident from a group home there, she needed mental health care. While there she spoke to a social worker, she told the social worker that she wanted to hurt some people that lived in the same group home. The social worker asked me if she could be violent, I said she has been known to hit people. The attending Dr. From the ER came to talk to her. She told him that she needed help. They admitted her for medical issues, I said to the nurse I hope she doesn’t give you too much trouble, the nurse told me “ I have been warned that she is a loose cannon “. Blessing refuses to help her with her mental health issues because she is developmentally disabled. So if she hurts herself or someone else, guess what Blessing hospital you are responsible, you willingly neglected to care for your patient who came to you for help

Fantastic experience: Matthew in maintenance. My husband had emergency open heart surgery on 2-17-24. I do not like elevators so finding the cafeteria was not fun. As I was wandering, Matthew saw me and asked what I was looking for. I said the cafeteria which was actually quite a way from where I was. He walked me all the way to the cafeteria, then went about his job. When I was through, I tried to remember my way back when I spotted Matthew on his floor shiner looking for me to make sure I found my way back, which I did not. He walked me back to my waiting room that took a while to find because I was wrong about the location. He was so patient, friendly and calming. I am sure maintenance guys get overlooked, please pick Matthew for your honey bee award! He certainly deserves it!!

Negative experience: Care is decent like all small hospitals with a lot of rent-a-nurse staff. The billing department practices are a confusing mess full of nasty surprises. Very frustrating and not worth the headache.

Negative experience: Blessing Hospital, the place where you go in for a splinter and end up in the morgue. Avoid if you can.
Negative experience: 5 hours they let a chronically ill disabled patient lay on the ER waiting room floor after denying her multiple requests for a bed because of her inability to tolerate gravity. The dr has no answers through his ER Protocol and in terrible condition they released me - worse of an emergency than when I came in. This hospital is a CURSE and will never be back. Disgusted they would treat anyone this way!

Fantastic experience: My care was absolutely great. Sure some staff clicked with me better than others but all were professional and went out of their way to get what I asked for instead of deciding whether I needed it or not. The best hospital stay I have had, other than the pain that was within me, but that had nothing to do with them, they managed the pain the very best they could. Would definitely take my care here again.
Fantastic experience: Every operator that answered the phone was very polite and friendly. Shout out to Ashley for assisting me and making my request 100% easier!
Negative experience: The one on top she did after she thought I was recording her on my phone. First one she ripped out. Hurt pretty bad and as you can tell bled. This was because I was asking why I’ve waited nearly four hours to go home just because they need to email my pharmacy first. It takes four hours to send over a prescription? Entire ER smelt like human feces and had garbage everywhere. Most of the staff was extremely nice. But the waiting four+ hours for literally everything is ridiculous. I get hospitals get busy but what doctor is with one patient for over three hours? Not even a surgeon. So, they lie for some reason as well. I was told I’d be discharged at 9am it’s nearly 1pm and they said it would be another hour.

Positive experience: The first attempt at requesting my medical was accepted..Until I got an email with only a few pages..Not the entire record..REASON?? signature was not accepted...Why wasnt I notified prior to submitting the application?
Negative experience: I came out in worse shape than when I went in. I can't take care of myself and have some serious health issues happening. I'm pretty sure they are hoping I'll wreck or drop dead. Putting my life on the line is one thing, but other lives. I mean, what if I did wreck. Do better people. There is no other reason to tell me to leave without proper treatment. Other than trying to finish the job that Sangamon County Judge Davis, Sheriffs Deputys and Memorial Hospital started. Update on this post. It was made after a minor stroke brought on the police and judge violating my rights. They have caused me several problems by stealing my house and attempting to murder me. I now live in my truck because I am too uncomfortable in sleeping in a confined place or in fact inside. I have been offered places but the PTSD they caused won't let me. It is a bad situation all around. It is near impossible to function properly in my condition. Death I fear is my only option but that is God's department. I have improved tremendously since I made the original post with the help of Carle hospital in Bloomington Illinois. The best hospital in Illinois. They actually care and go out of their way to help. I've noticed three people have responded to this post since I was in a minor wreck yesterday. It wasn't my fault but I'm sure I'll be the bad guy as usual.

Negative experience: The description of my recent encounter at the Blessing ER is more than I care to type. I will just sum it up like this. I told my wife if I ever need to be taken to an ER again, to please take the chance and take me to either Springfield or St. Louis. I would not want to bother the staff at Blessing again. I had a follow up appointment with my primary physician, and he was shocked at the experience I described to him. I'm giving the experience two stars, as opposed to one, because the woman who checked me in when I first arrived was very nice.

Fantastic experience: My husband had a Outpatient Full Hip Replacement. We arrived at 5:30 to get checked in for 6 am. We already had Pre-Reg done before we arrived. So super easy check-in. His surgery was timed for 7:30, he was prepped and surgery started at 8:05. 90 min surgery. Just as the Dr said it would be. We got a card with his number on it, so we could watch the board that let us track his surgery progress. Recovery was about 1 hr. Then he went to his post op room. Around 11:30ish, he ate. After lunch, the Occupational Therapists came in to get him walking. We were discharged around 1:30pm. 8 hrs Start to Finish for a new Hip wow! Every single staff member we encountered, was absolutely wonderful. We had a great idea of what the day would look like prior, from our pre-op visits. Everything went very smoothly. Very clean. A nice little Coffee Shop inside and We ate at the Tea Room which had amazing staff and the food was delicious. 5☆'s all around !!! I did not take very many pictures of the facility due to privacy.

Positive experience: Everyone was very friendly & helpful. While there I had a new program explained to me and I said that I was willing to give it a try "HOSPITAL FROM HOME". I feel much better sleeping in my own bed I get my IV meds plus anything else I'd need. Thank you Blessing for allowing me to be a part of the new program. I think it will do great & best wishes

If you have to take anyone to the hospital go to Hannibal for sure!!!! Never take anyone here. I give everyone there a negative number. -100

Negative experience: They chased me and my wife down because we needed our pictures taken. My three-year-old had to go potty. They wouldnt let us go until we had our pictures taken. Our child wet her pants, what a blessing. If I could I'd give them negative stars. I'd like to see the older lady or older gentleman at the front desk hold their water!

Fantastic experience: Wow, that’s all I can say, thoroughly impressed by all the staff I interacted with. Spent the night, pancreatitis. Everyone was sooo nice soo attentive, just phenomenal customer service and work ethic. From the security guard lending me his charging cord (I had no idea I was gonna be held up) to the nurses, nurse practitioner, doctors, the nutrition specialists or whatever their particular title here is, the chaplain, the cleaning crew. Literally everyone was phenomenal. And I’m not a great life situation due to this happening all of them did everything they could to help thwart those circumstances and we managed to succeed. I’m In surprisingly less pain today, everything’s lookin up. Word to the wise though, if you are gonna have a medical emergency, make sure it’s one you can eat on, cause their menu is extravagant! Probably a good thing I couldn’t partake in all of it or they would of ran out of stock But anyhoo, thank you all, you all were phenomenal, appreciate y’all thoroughly!! And hope y’all have a non jinxed word applied day/night!

Negative experience: One of the world's most inhospitable hospitals I have ever been to. Watching the people you love and care about scream in agony only for the nurse to say "that's why we have doors" and then walk off is disheartening. I am sad because of what I have seen and experienced here.

Negative experience: Brought my son into the ER it was at least 0° outside not counting the wind chill...had to park I'm sure it was at least a block away from door. I had my 4 year old grand daughter with us...when my granddaughter and I got into the building after walking in frigid temps...we were told she couldn't be in the waiting room...there was only 1 person in there.. so we were sent back into the cold to set in the car untill he is through I've never been so disappointed in a hospital..I'm sure there was somewhere we could have waited inside..and if your not letting children into your ER then please announce it.. rather than freeze a 4 year old by making her walk so far away and the turning us away and making her do it again

Negative experience: The only reason it gets two stars is because there is staff here and units that do care and will go above and beyond , they are amazing. Unfortunately there is a 50/50 chance that you may be on the terrible floors. this facility does not have the capability to do anything other than the two s’s , stabilize and stitches . There is a break down In communication between patient and hospital. The only way to get any answers here is to call the hospitals risk management and get them involved. Best bet for anyone in critical condition to do is get transferred asap. I feel sorry for the great staff here and the surrounding community . It is an uneasy feeling when multiple staff tell you to transfer asap , and they would not put their family in this hospital. Sad that a person has to travel hours away to receive good care if they live in town .

Negative experience: Stay was horrible. Come in with high blood pressure chest pains... Was put in a room hooked up to a bunch of cords and wires. I test said it looked good that was it. I layed there for 4 more hours not seeing a nurse but maybe 2xs one to bring me a med bc they said it's anxiety and another to cut me off and talk over me. Was handed discharge papers without knowing any of my test results or speaking to a doctor. This place has gone way down hill and QMG will gain a new patient

Negative experience: Let me start by saying the Nurses at Blessing have been fantastic with my dad, but other than that I’d choose to get my care somewhere else. Very unprofessional and make no sense with some of their patient and non-patient decisions that put unneeded stress on those involved.

Negative experience: A horrible hospital to go to if you have family member. Each patient is only allowed two visitors at a time. The doctors are rude. The people at the front desk don't seem to care at all. I wouldn't recommend this hospital at all my family members and I always have problems with this hospital and it's only getting worse.

Positive experience: The nurse asked my weight in front of my husband! Big no no! Another nurse butchered my arm attempting to insert an IV! My ER Physician was very thorough. The CT girls were excellent. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: The nursing staff was extremely nice, caring, prompt to answer lights, and very professional. I'm very disappointed in physical therapy. On the day of surgery I was helped to get up in chair. I'm not sure who did that. I had no PT day 1. Day 2 - I was walked 100 feet 1 time. Right as I was discharged PT came to do 3 exercises with me. I asked her if she had some print offs she could give me to take home. She informed me there was exercises in my notebook. But at this time I feel those are advanced exercises. PT is crucial to healing. I feel I was failed in that area. 5 stars for Nursing staff and kitchen!

Negative experience: Unless you want to die in the waiting room waiting to get in the ER just don't attempt it. It's either that or suffer in pain for up to 5 hours in the ER waiting room. My mom died here of a stroke they didn't notice for over 24 hours because they weren't monitoring her the right way while she was on the vent for covid, she was too far gone and they would not allow family to visit her and say goodbye unless vaccinated. Even though the whole family had just gotten off quarantine. This place has always been a joke.

Fantastic experience: I had a gash in my head from falling. (Old lady injury they said) I came in w/my son & upon arriving, they ushered me in a wheelchair to a room. They were wanting to check for internal injuries. With in 3 hrs, I had stitches, an xray & a cat scan. Thankfully, no internal injuries. They gave me night meds to take home & my RX was at Walgreen's just like they said it would be.

Fantastic experience: I had a 1 day ,overnight surgery procedure on my bladder which required 60- 1 liter bags of saline to be run through my system requiring dumping & hanging 2 new bags every 40 min.I'd like to recognize the two RNs that took care of me & went above & beyond .I was in room 3447, Cassie was on duty from my admittance at 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 and back at 7:00 in the next morning. Kaly , 7:00 p.m. till 7:00 a.m. they're both a credit to the nursing profession .excellent care great personalities

Negative experience: Husband had EMG procedure had no explanation of procedure. "Nurse" applied electrodes . Provider completed procedure. Very difficult to understand what he said. Provider quickly left the room. Without any decernable explanation of exam. "Nurse"told him "hurry up get dressed I'll show you out " . No summary of what was done. Nothing. No exam summary offered.We were sent to this facility for this one test from our providers in Iowa City Hospital and clinics where my husband normally receives his care. So disappointed in sub par care like he was shown today. Never want to be a patient at your institution

Negative experience: 3.6 hours for 3.6 minutes of care in ER. They didn't call in meds either. Then read my wife the riot act saying"we don't do that" well that's not what you said Saturday. Let's go QMG hospital!

Negative experience: I am a seventeen year old girl who was put in the psych ward by a local health provider from a clinic. The ER staff was kind but not very informative to me or my father who drove me. The psych ward staff themselves were a lot worse. My parents were given information about the discipline systems after I had stayed there for 2 days already. I was scolded by nurses because I had no idea what to do or what their rules were. They acted like I was being rebellious for breaking the rules but I was just clueless. The day psych techs (well, one in particular) had “group therapy” set as me and the other patients sitting in desks facing forward. Clearly not much psychiatric knowledge is needed for that job. My parents didn’t know the rules about calling or visiting until they had already made mistakes. I know this part isn’t Blessing’s fault exactly but that place was hellish. It proved to me that psychiatric care has not improved as much as we claim it as. Locking kids up when they are nonviolent is not good for their mental health. I went outside once during my 5 day stay. I was crumbling already and then being put in that prison of a hospital really screwed me over.

Fantastic experience: Went in through the emergency room with kidney stones. Everyone there was kind and anticipated my needs. Got moved to a room and had surgery the next day. The nurses, doctor's and even the housekeeping staff were all very nice and kind. Everyone answered any questions I had and they took very good care of me. I would never hesitate to use Blessing Hospital in the future.

Negative experience: I and my family have had one issue after another with this hospital. The problems range from minor to serious. I can not tell you one family member to have a complete positive experience when staying at Blessing. Thank the lord QMG is now expanding so we have a choice in Healthcare.

Fantastic experience: I want to thank all the staff that took care of my brother Wade Allen Gould. I'm very thankful for all the caring staff that was there for him, when my mother and I could not be there. We live in NY, and couldn't travel because we can't have the vaccine. His financial advisor and a woman (Shantel Clouston), that refused to do a DNA test to prove she was his daughter (Leslie Anne Wilson Chrysler) were there. I know that the women in my brothers life, refused to place us on the providers list. You all deserve a raise and a vacation for the work that you do. I know my family can be challenging to take care of. I give you a gold star. He used to drive for Great American Cold Logistics. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Thank you again.

Negative experience: Saw the Dr in ER on Wed. and never saw him again. He attempted to see me when I was getting a MRI Thur. morning & told staff he had to get to his clinics in Rushville, but would be back to see me afterwards. Was told I could not be released until he saw me. Waited all day for him & he didn’t come back. Finally I asked about him at 8:00 PM, & was told he wasn’t coming back and they were printing out my discharge papers. I don’t understand discharging a patient without a doctor physically examining & talking with him! We had sat around waiting on him all day for nothing!!! The rest of the staff was excellent.

Positive experience: I feel like everyone did their best to help me with my issue, but I wish the doctor had asked before throwing away my $7 Ace Bandage just because it looked gross. It was washable and reusable and I don't have money to be throwing away things like that.
