Fantastic experience: The staff up front is very friendly and helpful and I never have to wait to be seen. My appointments start right on time. Very clean and nicely kept offices. I've had 4 visits with Dr. Worley so far and he's been really great. My back and neck were in pretty bad shape and I am back to feeling as good as new. Highly recommend Dr. Worley. Negative experience: Acupuncture Billing Fraud I have written thousands of reviews of various businesses and this is the first NEGATIVE review I have ever had to write: On the phone the receptionist said one acupuncture session will be #120.00 and yes we are in the blue cross / blue shiel network so you will only have to pay $20.00. Total Health systems billed my insurance over $300.00 dollars and BC/BS paid $286.00 for a $120.00 session! If they would have told me up front I could have decided based on the true cost but they were not up front about hidden costs. They charged also for an office visit at $120.00 and an extra $85.00 for 15 minutes of the electric needles (I was never asked if I wanted the current and never told it would be an extra $85.00!!!! i talked to the manager Barb who said there was no mistake and everything was in order. I then asked her to have the Owner and Director of Clinical services Dr. Aaron Lungaard call me to discuss this fraud and he didn't even do his job and call me back. I had been warned by a friend who was also not happy with their business practices for Physical therapy. but thought I was only going there for acupuncture. Alex the acupuncturist is very kind, empathetic, but 1 out of every 3 of her needles hurt. I have been to a wide variety of acupuncturist and a good acupuncturist rarely puts in a needle that causes any discomfort. Very sad that Blue Cross / Blue Shield finally approved acupuncture to be covered and they are being charged almost triple the quoted price. What a disappointing alternative health center; out for the money and not so much out to heal. If you decide to go here be aware and ask how much they are planning to bill your insurance for whatever service you get? PART 2 IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER.... You did a good job in your response showing your potential customers if they have any complaints they will be called abusive for calling out your unfair business practices. You also do not have all the information correct...I asked Barb your manager since my insurance already had paid this bill to give me a credit toward getting an X-Ray and consultation from Dr. Hudson, in lieu of filing a grievance with my insurance company (I also didn't want to make them aware of how I was deceived by your receptionist). After Barb took no responsibility and didn't offer anything in response to price gouging my insurance, I requested her to have you call me to discuss my negative experience and offer a solution; a credit toward another service, a refund, or reimburse my insurance for the amount I was not quoted initially. The fact is I would not have complained if your costs would have been clear when I asked .... WIth your long response you did a good job defending why you charge for both the acupuncture appointment at the same time you are charging for an office visit. I'm almost sure now you will inform your receptionist at the front desk to explain to future patients how their insurance company will be billed differently than the $120.00 acupuncture cost for those without insurance. Even if you don't retrain your staff, now potential customers who read this review wilI have the information they need before they get any of your services. I can assure you I WAS NOT TOLD THESE HIDDEN COSTS AND THAT IS THE TRUTH. If I would have been told all the costs up front I would not have a complaint; You gaslighted me in your response and your rude response is on display for all those who will be reading this review! I am a retired teacher, counselor, guest speaker, and played other roles in education helping others throughout my career. You should have done your job and called me back to prevent my need to have justice served through reviews and filing further complaints about your sneaky and deceptive billing practices.
Tina T: It was very clear from the inception of your communications with our staff regarding this issue that you had no interest in an explanation or any truth regarding your acupuncture visit and billing for your visit. It was explained to you that, on the first visit, treatment was performed along with an office visit. You state that no office visit was performed, but our provider, protocol, billing and documentation clearly shows differently. You see, we would not be able to establish the necessity of acupuncture as treatment modality without an office visit that included intake paperwork and a specific work up and evaluation of what we should be treating via acupuncture. This is how medical necessity is established, with every patient and every service provided in the medical community at large, with an office visit. To provide an office visit prior to care is not fraudulent, it is standard of care in the medical industry and at our office. In fact, to use the word fraud in this situation could and is being taken as slander toward our practice. It is during this office visit that it would also be determined if electrical current combined with the acupuncture would be effective. This was not billed in addition to your acupuncture, it is an either/or service depending upon the treatment plan devised by the acupuncturist. To claim there was bait and switch for your service is untrue and offensive. We provided and documented the service that you received. The services we provided are necessary in order to establish care, and reimbursed by the insurance company because they know it is necessary. I’m sure during your fruitless call to Blue Cross Blue Shield Michigan they explained this to you, but you may have talked over them and bullied them similar to your approach with our staff, since you didn’t get the answer you were seeking. It was determined that, due to your verbally abusive behavior toward staff while calling on this issue, that we will need to discharge you from care, per office policy. The Director in charge needed to, and did, research your claim of fraud, as required by our compliance policies. It was quickly determined that billing was done properly and you were called for it to be explained to you. This is when the verbal abuse and bullying of staff occurred yet again. You state we are taking advantage of sick patients like yourself. Meanwhile, you make unfounded claims of fraud, and instead of asking us to reimburse your insurance company, as would happen in a fraud situation, you requested that the clinic give you free services for the amount of the office visit that we billed lawfully. Who is trying to take advantage of who in this situation? You threatened a poor review if we did not pay you for an office visit that was lawfully reimbursed! I think most people who take the time to read this response and the one we will ultimately have to file with the Better Business Bureau, will all see though you and realize we have a long-standing reputation in the community for great care and customer service. They will also see you are only trying to use social media and other consumer resources, for personal gain and internet terrorism, and not for any true justice. We were accurate in our billing approach and services provided to you during your brief tenure as our patient, and stand behind our staff and providers in cases of mistreatment and abuse by patients.

Fantastic experience: 3rd time doing PT at this location (right shoulder in 2017 and 2021…left knee now preparing for an ACL replacement). Staff is polite, friendly, and efficient from Reception to the Therapist. They have helped me recovery completely from 2 previous high impact injuries and I feel confident in placing myself in their care again.

Fantastic experience: Dr Worley is a wonderful chiropractor who listens, explains, and relieved my pain with manipulation. X-rays were taken first, then consultation, then adjustment. I was highly impressed with my care! I am going back soon for a 1 hour massage and another adjustment.

Fantastic experience: I was seen by Anne (physician assistant) and Dr. Worley (chiropractor) for my low back pain. I had a wonderful experience! Both providers were extremely caring and made me feel very comfortable. The adjustment by Dr. Worley helped my back a lot as did the stretches he showed me. The office staff were very very nice as well. My back is better now but if I ever have any issues in the future I’ll definitely be making another appointment! 10/10 experience!

Fantastic experience: I enjoyed my visit at total health, my first chiro visit went smoothly and I felt a big difference after my first visit! My vitals and X-rays were taken great by Kayla. Dr.Worley is a great chiropractor very skilled and a humble, good guy to converse with, listened to my concerns and gave advice on what to help. My first PT appointment went great too with Marek he listened and understood my concerns. Overall I felt very pleased with my visit and will continue going! 10/10 recommend!

Negative experience: My experience with Dr. Pan was quite unprofessional, rushed, and not what I expected. The room I was put in for accupuncture was haphazardly put together and dirty. The furniture was tore and dirty and the bright florescent lights were abrasive and certainly not relaxing. Dr. Pan was rushed, and didn't ask very many questions about why I was there or what I was hoping to accomplish with accupuncture. I found out he had just started double booking recently. I was asked to fill out paperwork before my appointment, that which Dr. Pan didn't even look at before my appointment. He asked the front desk to print it when I arrived. I will not go back to Total Health Systems.
We apologize that you had this poor experience. As the popularity of any service begins to grow, there are always speed bumps and hurdles to improve patient care. That is no excuse for you feeling your care was unsatisfactory, but it gives us fuel to improve the department, which has had mostly positive reviews to date. Negative experience: I was hoping for a better experience. The doctor was very nice, patient and knowledgeable but didn't seem to do a good job with the manipulation. He didn't put enough muscle into it. When I left the office my shoulder seemed tight or pinched. The shoulder is more tight today. My neck is sore today and my hearing a bit blocked. The opposite side of the pained lower back now has pain. I was expecting to be put on a rolling table and have the back iced but that didn't happen. I've seen a couple other doctors at Total Health in the past and all were good. I especially liked Dr. Craig but the good doctors keep leaving this company. That should be telling. I've had at least 3 other chiropractors over the past 50 years, so I know what to expect. I'm not going back. Seems this guy undid everything the previous doctor did. I shouldn't have this much pain 4 days later. I do not recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kevin Worley is a very good chiropractor. He listens to his patients. I have also gone to PT at Total Health. The Physical Therapist Marek took the time to explain both exercises and other methods of treatment to me. It is a one on one experience, not the cookie cutter, people lined up all over the place. I have also worked with both of the PTA's at the Washington location. Both are very knowledgeable and helpful.

Fantastic experience: I saw Dr. Daley. They did x-rays, he went over them with me very thoroughly and explained everything to me before or while doing it. I felt so much better after my adjustments, especially since I had 2 kids in 2 years and my hips really needed it!

Fantastic experience: I need to start off by saying my neck has been hurting off and on for about 6 months. So I spoke to a friend who suggested Total Health Systems. I called up to Total Health Systems and they were super nice on the phone and had an appointment for me within a few days. Went up to the office and I was very impressed at the facilities the staff was incredible, helpful and kind. They explained everything highly professional and fun. Dr Daley the chiropractor explained the process asked me where my pain was and had me X-ray the pain area. After we reviewed the x-rays he came up with a plan. Have to say after 2 sessions I feel so much better and I have been telling my friends and co-workers about the experience and how much better I feel. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TOTAL HEALTH SYSTEMS!

Fantastic experience: They are extremely friendly and informative at the front desk. Prompt with keeping the appt time, and Dr.Daly was so patient with listening and answering questions. I liked that the Xrays were done and it was discussed with me immediately. Everything was very clear what direction we needed to go and I immediately got an adjustment.
