Fantastic experience: Loved the equipment and the amenities included. Just had to recently cancel my membership because I am moving out of state. They were really nice, understanding, and did not cause a hassle. A really easy process for a cancelation. Overall, my time spent there was worth the membership.

Fantastic experience: Let me start by saying I've been a regular here for 5 years and never had a bad experience. The staff is always going around cleaning up the locker rooms and workout spaces. Equipment gets repaired or updated in a timely manner. Staff has always been tentative to any requests, for example, I noticed the shower heads were beginning to wear out and drip excessively. Just a couple of weeks after telling the Staff, all shower heads were replaced. When my wife was going here, she enjoyed the free classes by various personal trainers at this location. Lastly, the building is huge, and offers a wide variety of equipment, so I never had to wait in order to work out a specific muscle group. I recommend this facility to friends and family.

Negative experience: You guys need to seriously update your tanning area because you don't even have proper ventilation every single time I come here to tanning I have to wait at least 20 to 30 minutes for the lay down bed to quote unquote cool off as there's no ventilation it's just an office with a tanning bed come on Powerhouse Jim I would expect more from you than this clearly your tanning area is not adequate and up to par please install ventilation so we don't spend our very limited extra time waiting to use something we've paid for all this does is inconvenience my life

Negative experience: I am 43 years old and for the last 15 years I have bought tanning packages at tanning salons and I have never had to wait ever after a client has used the tanning bed other than long enough for it to be cleaned. Every time I want a tan I have to wait at least 20 minutes for the tanning bed to "cool down" as I was told from an employee it's because they don't have ventilation like tanning salons do it's basically just an office with a tanning bed in it okay first off that is a red flag as it doesn't seem safe second of all time is money we all lead very busy lives one of the biggest reasons why I took my package here is because I am an avid Tanner I have been waiting for 30 minutes at this point in the fans still have not kicked off in the room feels like a sauna for all the money that you've spent on your properties you would think that you would invest a little bit more into ventilation so that these tanning beds can be used like they were meant to be used there should never be any waiting involved except for when somebody's actually in the bed we should never have to wait for it to quote unquote cool down to be safe to use

The staff was also very friendly. I genuinely enjoyed my time here and as tough as it is moving, PG West Bloomfield will always have a special place.

Negative experience: I do not recommend this gym, especially if there’s any chance you might need to cancel your membership. They charged my husband and son for memberships for over a year without them being used, along with various additional fees, and when I moved too far away to continue using the gym, the manager refused to cancel my contract. Even after they withdrew yearly dues and a membership fee from my personal account—an amount equal to their cancellation fees—they still demanded more money to terminate the contract. Their business practices are highly questionable, and I strongly advise against joining this gym.

Negative experience: First of all I want to make it clear that I was very happy to be here, because it is the closest gym to my house. I liked the atmosphere, the equipment is good and well organized. If you don't have to use the daycare then it's perfect for you, but because of the daycare I give it 2 stars, the only reason that has made me not want to go back there. About a month after taking my son there every day, they started complaining about my son, saying that he was misbehaving and that he was aggressive (a 22 month old boy), taking out a sheet with a policy that said that I couldn't take him within 24 hours and that the 3rd time the same thing happened I couldn't take him anymore! And that they would cancel my gym subscription and credit me back the money paid. Now I wonder? What kind of staff do they put to work there? I have been with Power House for over 2 years, I only leave my son for 2 hours and I am only there for 1 month and the lady tells me THAT THEY ARE CANCELLING MY MEMBERSHIP, due to assault by a 22 month old child (according to her). I want to make it clear that this has only happened to me there at West Bloofiend Power House. My son was going to daycare about a year ago in Nortville and nothing like that has ever happened to me. Do not choose this place to leave your child, you would be WASTING A LOT OF TIME. The MANAGER did nothing about it!! They do NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. Choose another Powerhouse, there are several and I have had better service than here. Fantastic experience: Huge well run, well-staffed clean gym. Happy member for over 6 months. They have a pool, modern bathrooms and showers, basketball court and tons of equipment of all different makes and styles. Trainers and counter staff are eager to please. I have never had a single issue here. They pay a great deal of attention to sanitizing equipment, glass and shower rooms. They are open almost all the time so it's easy to get in on your schedule.

Negative experience: Called twice this morning to ask about a standard membership price. Both times I was told I’d be forwarded to someone who can help with that. I was left on hold both times with no one picking up. Information like this should be available on your website. If I’m not even a member yet and you’re this poor at communicating with your potential customers. I wonder how do you treat your members. If you’re too busy to answer a phone call, then put information on your website. You lost this customer.

Negative experience: Sometime in June I called this gym and asked if I could pose there, as long as I did not put my posing suit on, and was told no very abruptly and rudely. Call Novi - they're confused. I go to Novi and they told me multiple areas they had zero issue with me posing as I was weeks out from a show. Again, fully clothed - never in my posing suit. I needed to run through the movements. So after my show I begin coming to WB PH. Not one person follows the 'rules' there, but somehow they cherry pick what works for them and what doesn't. I see bags, I see chalk, the best part is the filming, and no one puts their weights away. It's a zoo. So I have seen on social media various times throughout the years people being filmed at this gym or filming themselves. Just the other day an employee had the same exact videographer I wanted to use filming her, but I was told I was not able to have him as a guest at the gym because they don't allow filming. I was then told the employees don't have the same rules as the members - so they cherry pick what works for them as a company versus treating everyone and paying members equally. I would not have an issue being shot down if I did not see it on social media through the years or better yet - I did not see it openly being done within hours members are able to see it with their own eyes and bringing in the same videographer used to 'promote the gym' which those photos are not anywhere on the gyms social media page so I'd like to know when they're using them to promote the gym :) You're better off going to Novi where the managers there actually value the members instead of storming off because they're being challenged to simply explain the cherry picking/grey area of their own made up rules on whatever day they want. All the employees as soon as this man walked away were saying sorry to me, that I was right, because I am right in this and not making a big deal out of thin air. This club doesn't care about actual bodybuilding or promoting the gym with people who compete outside of their few employees.

Negative experience: literally a terrible place on top of leaving and going to a better gym they got mad that I canceled my membership and purposely did not cancel it but kept it open for 7 months just so they can send me to collections, they wont even let you in the door if you membership is past due so if it is past due why would you not cancel the membership but they want to ruin peoples credit for 200$ joke of a place and they do it on purpose because they know they can to get there petty 200$ that I could wake up everyday of my entire life and wipe my behind with it and would not get phased but there that money hungry and are that desperate that they will do low life stuff like going after peoples credit for 200$

Fantastic experience: This gym really has everything. There is nothing lacking. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The equipment is fantastic and they have more than enough where you aren’t waiting around to use something. They keep the facility very clean. The members are also very nice. It’s a serious gym and everyone from the staff to the members are very respectful. You get everything you want/need for a fraction of the cost of similar gyms.

Negative experience: They locked me into a contract that I now have to pay over a 100$ to leave. While lying when they said I would be allowed to use the gym once or twice when my account is frozen only to deny me and force me to pay 20$ for one day. Management tries to scam teens in to paying more then they have to. While there facilities aren’t in good condition like water fountains always being slow or out of order. Overall I would try to save your money and switch to a different gym.

Negative experience: A place where the sales strategy is actively working against getting new clients. A stark contrast compared to the Birmingham location. No trial, not even a tour of the place before you are obliged to sign up for at least a week (or a 30 buck daily!!!). I ended up signing for a month just to try things out and said would like to bring my wife as well. They said ok, I'll have 4 guest passes with my monthly, perfect. Oh + they tried to get my account/routing number for an autocollection. Paying with a card? +10%! This is obviously only stated after we I signed everything. Pfff. After I got the signed contracts via email (in person they didn't even show it to me) it was with an auto renewal, not for a single month. Which is not what we discussed in person. After a few days of there and back via email they agreed to cancel the autorenewal with a 30 day notice. Yesterday I thought ok, let's bring my wife to show the place to her and use one of the guest passes, so she can try and sign up as well. I was told at the entrance that cancelling my subscription voided my guest passes, so she cannot try it unless she buys a 30 buck daypass. I think this was the last straw, we just left. Like why/how do you expect someone to sign up without trying or even checking the place??? Other places in the area offer 7 days of free trials. They are aiming at long term customers and not trying to AGGRESSIVELY lure them in with old school hard sales tactics. Those days are just gone guys, wake up.

Negative experience: This place will always get a bad review. The fitness consultants are insanely greedy for your money. The front desk “manager” Stephanie was extremely rude and inconsiderate towards me and did not treat me like a person. I have seen first hand how she treats the other employees and it’s ridiculous. To my understanding you are working a front desk job, not as a NASA space engineer. She always gives me a hard time whenever I want to buy anything with cash. Other than that the other employees are very nice and help me as best as they can without anything escalating further

Negative experience: Unfortunately I had to cancel my membership after being profiled as a trainer which I’m not. I was with my mother in law and the manager got involved by the name of Jason who was extremely disrespect in his approach and the basically tried to make it as if I wasn’t a member and holding me up at the front desk and blaming it on the new system. He then spoke from his desk to convey information to the others guys on the floor and wouldn’t approach me directly after I was inquiring to cancel my membership. Overall great gym and great people only advice is train management better particularly Jason and you shouldn’t have Fat people telling other people to sign up for membership. Jason get a trainer or use your free membership. Kyle the other manager was great thanks for your time. Back to lifetime I go!

Positive experience: The worst punching bag ever. Please get a good one, don’t be cheap…

Negative experience: April 27 2024 : Not open 24/7 on weekends, contrary to what's listed. Please update your hours to avoid misleading customers. I have been calling them every 3 months to change this misleading fact but never changed… This has been the same since 2021 Wish there was a better gym in the west bloomfield area. Lights turn off at 6.30 pm during weekend gyms close at 7 pm they will yell at you to get out… Okay no offense will leave… Just feel that we over pay monthly about $50, plus the $20 or so charge for using nasty towels that literally have HAIR in it gross and to use gym at diff locations, plus $30 per day to bring in a guest. Plus they say will give you a referral which never came. Gym,floor, equipments, dusty plates literally stinks water fountain doesn’t work asked politely to the front desk they respond hey we know. Men’s room doesn’t have papertowel can atleast the drying machine work? Fantastic experience: My time at the gym was awesome! I enjoyed the connections I made at powerhouse. I enjoyed equipment such as the hack squat as well as being able to have the ability to go play basketball. Awesome gym and equipment!

Fantastic experience: I have been here for 3 years and the community at this gym is like no other. From the trainers to the members, I have made some incredible friendships. I personally love the power room where you can lift heavy and also there is a great selection of leg machines. I also enjoy the sauna and the pool. I feel very lucky that I get to attend this gym.

Fantastic experience: Going to this gym has made me a gym regular. I absolutely love the classes and cleanliness of the gym. The locker room is always spotless and clean but I do wish the stalls weren’t so see through and the support beams weren’t reflective. You can see the reflection of the person next to you. The staff is wonderful and friendly. The amount of tvs is great but I do wish there was a better channel variety as well as more subtitles. I’ve recommended this gym to many others and got my sister to join.

Negative experience: I’m sure the facility is fine but their sales tactics are insane! They’ve literally called me every single day since I put in my information online, and I even talked to them the same day and said I had to work around my child’s schedule to get in there for a tour. Well I went for my tour and was not impressed with the childcare area so decided not to sign up. I told TWO different people of the reasoning, a sales associate and his manager, then bet you can’t guess who still calls me to follow up and try to get the sale a couple hours later! Good lord. Blocking their numbers!

Positive experience: When it rains it drips everywhere and is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Have had to skip leg days because I can’t dry my shoes enough to not feel like I’m gonna slip and blow out a knee on a leg press machine because it’s so dangerous. Edit: after the response from the gym I realize it is not their fault and have adjusted my review to compensate for that. I hope the owner of the building cares about the building and the safety of the people who use it just like I’m sure they would care if tenants stopped paying rent.

Negative experience: Warning all parents who leave their toddlers at this daycare!!!! For quite some time I noticed how the short,old lady with black hair talks to the kids in there in a hostile/ harsh manner.. not once but twice did she put my son WHO JUST TURNED TWO in time out for dumping the toys on the floor…. As I am walking in this wicked witch and the other older redhead lady had the nerve to tell me to have conversations at home with my toddler before bringing him??? While he is on the floor sobbing crying and she has her hands cross not even trying to comfort him.. A conversation to tell him to stop acting like a toddler… tf outta here!!They are terrible with the children and bitter older ladies !!!! The main issue was my son dumping the toys on the floor…. What toddler doesn’t do that??? They locked up my toddler in a playpen, restricting him of any toys just because they didn’t want to pick up after him …These two wicked old ladies are not good with kids!! They offer quite the opposite of a loving kid friendly environment … They do not have the patience nor love to be around kids especially toddlers!!! **** one star for the daycare , not gym! Great gym!!

Negative experience: They won’t stop texting you after you leave the gym. I closed my account after moving out of state and continue to get marketing texts from them despising asking multiple times to stop messaging me since I’m no longer in the state

Negative experience: After visiting the sauna, my experience was disappointing. The cleanliness left much to be desired, and the lack of control over people entering in their outdoor clothing and shoes disrupted the ambiance and hygiene. Some visitors neglect to shower before using the sauna, which worsens the overall condition of the place. I hope the administration improves these aspects to ensure a comfortable visit and maintain proper hygiene standards.

Negative experience: I will gladly give this gym 1/5 starts I’ll start by saying I have been with this gym on and off for 6 years. More or less I’m stuck with them because of how their fees are set up. And don’t forget their $1 sign up specials they forget to be honest and mention their annual fee the magically appears 90 days later. That consists of $75 dollars but since their sales team only cares about making their nut. It’s easy for them to forget to mention it. Also if you use a credit card be prepared to pay an extra $20 dollars a month. But wait if you happen to switch to your bank account there is a $20 dollars fee for that. Oh and they want you locked in 18 months but hey you save $20 every month from there on! It is true too they lack changing the water filters for days on end even when the light is red. Great to know after all the money they make you pay. Please consider another gym before you’re locked in. Ps if you lose your gym card they also want $10 for a new one. The review is for both Novi and west Bloomfield.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym. I'm there 4 - 6 times per week, so liking and feeling comfortable with a gym is important. The equipment and work out space is clean, and you see the staff clean the equipment. The members also clean the equipment when they use it. The locker room and poor are clean. I'm very pleased to be at this gym.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of Power House gym for about six months. I have limited stability on land and I do a lot of my work out in the water. Today was a perfect day in the pool at the Powerhouse Gym. The water was clear. The temperature was mild. The staff has been great about supporting the clients, thanks team

Positive experience: The gym itself is decent but operation is kind of hit and miss. First of all they used to be 24/7 when I signed up and then they changed their hours on the weekends so it closes at 7pm! That’s super early and not even like 9 or 10. No fee was reduced. Also we had to pause our membership due to COVID but yet still have to pay the annual fee of $39 or something. Further they don’t count against your contract. Also, sometimes they just closes certain things. The people there are generally fine. Some of the younger crew can get annoying.

Fantastic experience: Lots of space and equipment for working out. I love the instructors and classes that are offered weekly as well. And appreciate the changing rooms in the locker room for more privacy.

Negative experience: MOST DISGUSTING GYM EVER NOT TO MENTION THE DUMB BELLS SMELL AS IF SOMEONE DRIPPED THEIR SWEATY PRIVATE PARTS ALL OVER IT AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE FEES CAUSE THEY CHARGE FOR A TOWEL AND IN THE LOCKER ROOM THEY BE SHOOTING UP TREN (STEROIDS)

Fantastic experience: I started with powerhouse when they first opened the commerce location: loved the pool and private sauna area and several classes they offer for a very reasonable cost. The most impressive and consistent thing has been their customer service. Kevin is hands down the nicest and sweetest manager I have ever met. I sent several of my friends there and will continue to recommend powerhouse over any other gym in the area. Thank you !!!!

Negative experience: I won’t be returning to this gym for several reasons. Firstly, they charged me $30 for a day pass despite my explanation that I was visiting from out of town and working out with my cousin, who was a member. Their response was quite inhospitable, stating that they primarily cater to their members and aren’t fond of day pass users. Adding to the disappointment, there was a shortage of equipment, and even their purported 45 lb weights felt more like 35 lbs. All in all, my experience there was far from satisfactory.

Fantastic experience: Wide range of machines, overall very clean, love all of the group classes that are included with the membership. Love the sauna and the fact that there's a pool. People at the front desk are always extremely helpful including Kevin S and Dom.

Fantastic experience: Want to share with everybody the wonderful experience I had working with one of the associates name Jason H. He helped me and my son get all the information needed to find the plan that best suited my sons interests and working out. He gave us several ideas, and explained the program thoroughly. If anybody has an opportunity to work with him, I highly advise it! Great guy.

Fantastic experience: Best gym in Oakland county. I been to 100 gyms and I love this one the most. 24 hours and has every single thing. Very clean gym.

Negative experience: I have never experienced the level of desperation from gym salespeople like I did at this gym. After I expressed interest in joining, they generously gave me a free day pass and bottled water, and had a sit down meeting with me to discuss membership plans. This seemed nice at first. But then after my workout when I went to simply get my ID and leave, they instead called over their salesperson to give me a second round of convincing me to sign up right then and there. Don't let them trick you into joining on the spot with special deals or exceptions "just for you." These sales people are clearly trained with pre-planned scripts and tactics meant to create a false sense of urgency to maximize their own commission. But their pushy approach completely misses how off-putting it feels as a potential customer. During the meeting, they kept my ID so I couldn't easily leave without seeming rude. From the start, I clearly said I didn't want to sign up right away and needed time to think. But they kept circling back, pressuring me to give reasons why I wouldn't join immediately. I must have said "no" at least 5 times, but they kept asking "why?" and trying to convince me with questions like "Don't you want to work out every day here?" and "I just don't understand why you can't sign up now." After asking to leave multiple times, they said they would quickly grab a business card, but instead brought another manager for a third sales pitch. He point blank asked "What's wrong man, why aren't you going to join today?" At that point, I took my ID and left, completely off put by their overly aggressive techniques.

Negative experience: Be cautious about getting membership in this gym when you are opening account with them they give you false statements and false promises to sell you their packages. When you claim it they say there is no record or notes in your account and they don't remember they told what they told you. Get their words on paper when signing up for membership with them as they become rude to you very soon. In sale they treat you as family in service they treat you as an stranger. Unprofessional and unaccountable management here. The manager named John and his sale guy named Dylan are very unprofessional and untrustworthy.

Positive experience: Decent gym if we’re talking about equipment and size. Even during busy times it never feels congested. However, It’s annoying that they’re no longer 24/7, some people specifically joined because of it being 24/7. Maintenance is lack luster - things stay out of order for way too long. Hand dryers took months to fix, drinking fountains are always broken or filters old and water just drips out. Roof has several leaks and will drip on you while you’re working out. This gym would be a 5 star gym, if they had a better maintenance team.

Positive experience: Would be better if they were open 24 hours like they used to be before pandemic. Would also be great if the sauna, shower facilities were kept up a little better. When things break down it takes them a long time to fix.

Fantastic experience: Love the variety of equipments! The floorplan is nicely spaced out. Huge area, feels roomy and never overcrowded. Facility is clean. Employees are friendly and helpful. Lots of parking available. 5 stars all around!
