Fantastic experience: The physical therapists are very knowledgeable and caring for the patients. I like that they are tracking my progress and let me know how far my range of motion has increased from the last session. The ice/compression at the end of the session really helps to manage pain and swelling. Shout out to Mr. James and Miss. Chappelle for being so great.

Negative experience: Super rude staff, never calls back, extremely rude to family and spouses of service members, worse hospital I've ever been too.

Negative experience: I presented myself with bad chest pains; and my daughter with some sort of stomach bug making her lethargic and puke everywhere. We got signed in at the ER at 14:29 (2:29pm). EVERYONE who came in after us was seen. A couple that had waited less than 20 minutes were called back when my husband asked, "what was taking so long, and when would we be seen?". It had just turned 17:22 (5:22) when he asked, and we were told we were next up. At 18:01 (6:01) another couple went back and we walked out. Crazy thing is, 30 minutes prior to my husband coming in to ask a couple was leaving and told the front desk they couldn't wait any long, that they'll just go to a different hospital. The lady at the desk asked them to come back when they were halfway out the door. The walked to the front desk, she whispered something and they say back down. Weird huh. All I know is my chest still hurts and I be crying and praying myself to sleep, and my daughter will be going to a different hospital in the morning.

Negative experience: December 10, 2024 I went to the Emergency room due to dehydration, chest pain, strep throat and not being able to eat for 3 days as per my leadership than going to sick-call. It has been the worse experience I have ever had in my 4 years of being at Fort Riley. Nurse Rachel checked my weight and I asked her, “How much is the correct weight once translated from kg?”. Her response was, “That’s not my job, I didnt come here for this, figure it out yourself”. As soon as she said that I paused and told her I would not like to proceed with her, she then said, “Fine, I don’t want to deal with you either”, and I requested another nurse. This is the worse experience I have had in this emergency room. I was not heard as a soldier nor a patient. I was treated less than. They always say one bad apple spoils the whole bunch and Nurse Rachel did just that. I have had experience with some amazing nurses before, but no one wants to be cared for in the manner Nurse Rachel did. Our duty as a soldier is not easy as it is, and to be disrespected by a personnel the army deems as those who can be mentors, a safe space, is not how a soldier, a family member or anyone should be treated. Imagine serving your country but being mistreated with your own health due to the poor employment choices in the Irwin Hospital Emergency Department. I reported the incident right there and then at the hospital and it was downplayed in protectance of the nurse, I was accused and lied on about being disrespectful. I will not be bullied or intimated by anyone! No nurse or doctor would want their family to have an experience as such, so it is not right to do it to someone else. You do unto others as you’d like it to be done to you. These are common morals and etiquette. I know what is it to have military bearing and that does NOT entail accepting disrespect. I know my rights as an American Citizen and I know my right as a soldier who serves her country. Anyone can have the credentials to be a nurse, but NOT EVERYONE HAS THE PASSION TO BE A NURSE. I am a mother and soldier and in all my decades of living this is my worse experience at a medical facility in my entire life.

Negative experience: I’m extremely upset as a retired veteran; I took my daughter to the IACH hospital on Thursday November 14 2024 because she was sick and coughing bad and told them to check for COVID, Strep throat, Flu and Rhino. The nurse Ms Patra said she is not going to check for anything because my daughter look fine and after she said that looked at my daughter’s throat and ordered some medicine for vomiting; My wife who was not satisfied with my report; Took my daughter back to the hospital on Friday 15 November 2024 where Ms Peter check her for symptoms; I just got a call back from IACH and was told my daughter had Strep throat. I am very upset with this type of service; mainly because before the nurse even looked at my daughter she already had in her mind that she was not going to do anything.

Fantastic experience: This was the best medical team experience I have ever had, period. The staff, nurses and doctors who treated me were the most professional and caring group of people I have ever met in this kind of setting. During my three days in care, I was treated with a level of kindness and concern that was truly phenomenal. Food was great as well. Thank you for everything!

Fantastic experience: Dr McCullum in OBGYN was absolutely wonderful today. He explained everything to me, allowed me to ask questions, got answers that I need and was very professional. I can’t thank him enough for his kindness and caring attitude.

Negative experience: The wait is too long. I ended up leaving to go to a different hospital. Lady at the desk was also pretty rude. I'll likely just stick to off-post hospitals from now on.

Negative experience: I don't know how this place has 3 stars. I don't know why the people there dress like Doctors. They refused to acknowledge my son's problem despite his history, symptoms, and evidence. They blatantly downplayed my son's issue with superficial excuses like but he has energy or he plays like he should. I asked the man dressed like a Dr if he knew anywhere else they could examine him he told me I could figure it out. Unprofessional and inhospitable excuses of Drs there.

Negative experience: This is by far the worst hospital. I have ever been to. The doctors cannot show app to their appointments on time. The doctors cant read paperwork for their own field. They refused to answer the phones. Or to call you back for absolutely anything anytime you are trying to get ahold of a certain doctor they magically, aren't there? And there's no way to get ahold of them. They say they will call you back and nothing. The drs DO NOT care about the Patients at all and are more worried about making sure, they make it to lunch on time. I highly recommend avoiding this hospital as much as possible. Because it will get to the point where it is affecting your life. Outside of whatever is going on with the hospital and they will not do anything about it because they do not care.

Negative experience: The child behavioral health services at this location are among the worst I have ever encountered. Red Cross messages do not jeopardize a soldier's career when their family members are in crisis, and this needs to be communicated to all doctors in the clinic. The lack of care for my child was astonishing. The staff berated my wife about her parenting, even as she provided a history of our son's issues and asked for help. It was so bad that our son himself remarked on their rudeness.

Fantastic experience: you hear a lot of talk from other people of how terrible on post hospital, anywhere ranging from the food, the staff, phone service, anything really you hear horror stories about anything all very valid those are people experiences that is what they went through, but all i can say is after this weekend my view point on this hospital changed. there are some amazing staff hands down the the best people in the world working here a god send. this weekend i became a first time mom i thought i knew so much from reading everything and just watching other parents out there but when it’s your turn you know nothing, there’s only two nurses names that i can remember bc of how big of an impact they made, Kendra L&D and Nate MS. these two nurses deserve so much love and care for how they treat their patients how they will sit with you and answer questions no matter how ridiculous or common sense they seem. my son is going through some issues and Nate came is had me crying bc he was understanding my frustration answering all my questions i thought i was just being crazy but he made me feel like everything i was feeling was very valid. i just want to say thank you for everything everyone has done to help during this very difficult time.

Fantastic experience: My 3 day old son was kept admitted for an extra day to be put under UV lights to lower his Billy Ruben levels before we could take him home. My wife and I are both first time parents with a million questions. Every nurse had answers and hopeful tips. However an LPN Nurse by the name of Nate spent hours answering questions and giving us a bunch of helpful advise and words of encouragement. At one point even calmed my crying wife while I held my crying child. Nate is a fantastic nurse and the army can benefit from soldiers like him who give 100% to new family’s learning how to be parents for the first time.

Fantastic experience: We were initially seen in the ER and were quickly checked in and taken back to be seen. The dr. and xray tech were very friendly and accommodating to my son. The nurses really went above and beyond to keep us all at ease during a really scary time. They were all so understanding and comforting to my sick toddler in the middle of the night. The pediatrician was called and promtly came down to evaluate and ended up admitted him for observation. She was very thorough and caring. The wonderful care team in Med/Surg were personable, knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. They were so patient, and went out of their way to make our 2 year old feel at home. I never had to wait long if we called the nurses station for anything at all. I can't thank them enough for all their help and support during our stay. I also want to shout out the dieticians/kitchen for keeping us fed and offering a good selection of food for my picky eater!

Negative experience: EMERGENCY ROOM wait time was over 3hrs. I’ve seen many people leave that’s been discharged but they have yet to call anyone to the back. It’s really ridiculous. I don’t know if they’re short staffed but it’s typically almost always like this. Then to proceed to the pharmacy and that wait time will be the same. So over 6 hours for ER then Pharmacy.

Negative experience: The ER isn't great. The initial nurse was impatiet. They have zero sympathy. I tried later calling to get information. I was rushed of the phone before I could ask the questions I needed so I could know how to proceed. I will be glad to transfer me care to my PCP.

Negative experience: My daughter was seen at this ER tonight after nauseous, headache and dizziness symptoms following a high speed accident. She was treated terribly by her obese male nurse with a beard and dark black hair in the ER. He questioned why she wasn't seen the night before, and implied she was lying! I have worked in a trauma 1 hospital enough to know that symptoms from a concussion don't always present immediately. She waited over 5 hours, was never examined by a doctor and sent home with "R.I.C.E." on her discharged papers and told doctors can't diagnose concussions. Really?? This is completely wrong and the nurse should be ashamed and questioned as to whether he is even competent to diagnose and then lying to pts. My daughter will be contacting the pt advocate and making a formal complaint. And will seek care elsewhere.

Negative experience: Doctors are careful team are usually really nice! However I noticed bumps and random bruising on my legs that caused a ton of pain. All they did was look at it, drew some labs, and sent me home without testing or even pain meds. I went back in 2 days later for more serious pain and more swelling that affected me to where I couldn't walk. They did an x-ray and sent me home again and told me I was pretty much being dramatic and gave ne a care sheet for "unknown pain." The next few days I noticed sloshing in my foot more swelling in my leg and really couldn't even bear to put weight on it. I went to another hospital where they gave me pain medication and ultrasound and they discovered a blood clot that wasn't getting picked up in my labs. I am now taking blood thinners since it gotten so bad. I just wish the hospital took me more seriously when I told them I knew something wasn't right.

Negative experience: My recent experience with IACH has been nothing short of frustrating and bewildering. I visited the hospital on September 22nd to submit orders for an H. pylori breath test and an upper GI x-ray, as prescribed by my civilian doctor. The journey downhill started when I was instructed to call on September 25th for an update because they needed to input the order into their system. Fair enough, I thought, but little did I know what was to come. On September 25th, as per their instruction, I called Radiology to follow up, only to be told that they hadn't even entered the order into the system. They assured me I'd receive a phone call with updates and asked me to wait. As patience waned, I contacted Radiology again on September 26th for an update. This time, I was informed that my orders had been sent to the Referral department because they weren't sure if they could perform the procedures. And then, on September 27th, I reached out to the Referral department for follow-up, only to be told they had no record of my orders in their system. This lack of coordination and communication is utterly perplexing. What's most frustrating about this experience is the inability of the hospital staff to provide a straightforward answer about whether they can or cannot perform an H. pylori breath test and an upper GI x-ray. It's a fundamental expectation in healthcare. I hope IACH takes this feedback seriously and addresses these issues promptly because this level of inefficiency and miscommunication is simply unacceptable. Patients deserve better.

Fantastic experience: OPTOMETRY CLINIC Appt. Kiosk Check in - quick/easy Waited in the lobby (near the optometry signage) until the FABULOUS tech came out to check if I’d signed in at the desk, which I hadn’t because the optometry/ophthalmology desk is closed and there is not CLEAR/NOTICEABLE signage to inform patrons to go to the ORTHO clinic check in desk. Once I went into the ORTHO clinic, the desk staff there was short and “staticy”….I live by the rule it costs zero dollars to be kind and they could potentially adopt that same philosophy in working with the patrons/patients of IACH. Within my schedule appt., my service was TOP NOTCH! I was seen and serviced quickly from the tech to doctor to receiving my Rx. The civilian tech currently working in the Optometry clinic was so kind and Dr. Park was awesome. I love coming to an appointment that is quick and efficient. Had the check in process not been jumbled up, this would have been the best experience I’ve ever had at IACH! Optometry clinic never disappoints, always a good experience…I’d love to see them be supported with appropriate desk/staffing needs so they can continue to be such rock stars!!!

Negative experience: it’s nice not having to have co-pays but that’s about it. the brand of my birth control i had been on for 2 years was changed and about 6 weeks into the brand change i felt like i was going absolutely insane. weight gain, emotional distress, the whole “something is off with my hormones” nine yards. i called the pharmacy about it hoping that i would be assisted and given the previous brand that worked for me, only to have a tech explain to me how birth control and the female reproductive system works. having been on birth control for 2 years and having a female reproductive system for 19 years i hung up and haven’t used this pharmacy since. thanks for mansplaining and being the final straw in my decision to get an iud!

Negative experience: As far as OB care; don’t waste your time. Try and get on the other insurance to see people off post for pregnancy care. They probably have a less likely chance of almost killing you by not listening to you.

Fantastic experience: I needed to get my daughter’s annual health assessment for daycare and there was a whole team of staff members working on a Saturday to help complete sports physicals and assessments. It was super helpful since I did not have to miss any time from work for the appointment. The whole team was working hard to be extremely thorough but also efficient. Thank you for having that option for parents and caregivers!

Negative experience: Update- I called to make an appointment for labd, they put me on hold for 20 + minutes. I called back a day after and same thing! I dont know what the hell they do to have a person 20+ minutes waiting on the phone. This is unacceptable, who monitor these people, who make sure that they are doing their job? We need a better system!! This rate is for labs. Horrible service, I got there fasting at 7:30 and wait 2 whole hours to get labs done. Then they called Me to apparently check me in, and the front desk guy said...ok go back to your seat they will call you back, like if is something funny to say after 2 fr** hours of waiting. Then 30 minutes later I got inside. I will NEVER choose this lab. Again. I used go off post in the past, I'm covered by tricare and don't wait more than 30 minutes for labs. Fort riley labs are inepts. They will NEvRr see me again.

Fantastic experience: The staff was amazing! They were always so helpful and very understanding. Even when I was screaming in pain they were amazing and calm they helped so much with calming me down during my c-section playing Disney music even though it was a weird request. Negative experience: I went to this hospital on March 31st because of a leg injury and was told I was fine and given strong pain medication. After a follow-up with an orthopedic doctor, I found out I have a fracture and a tear in my knee. I don’t understand how this was missed on the tests done.

I want to finally say a big thank you Dr. Kimberly Chaffin and to my centering team(Midwife Jessica Kramer, RN Meagan and LPN Alicia Faulkenburg). Fantastic experience: I am a civilian visiting the ED with my adult daughter. Dr. Ingle and team were wonderful. Not only did they get to her immediately, a plus in any ED, they were attentive and communicative throughout our ordeal. Wait about 2-3 hours just to get called in a room finally made it around 12 at night! Terrible! BTW wast the only person who sat out there for more then a hour/ complained. Fantastic experience: I had my second son on 01/26/2023, with a planned C-Section. I had the most amazing experience, and all of the staff were perfect. I wish I could remember all the nurses names. I know for sure Dr. Skinner and the anesthesiologist, Dean. They were so professional and hilarious! They made my experience so much more comfortable. The nurse that took care of me right when we got there and held me while I got my Epidural, was phenomenal. Everything went as planned and so smooth. I was even able to go home earlier than I thought because I had made so much progress.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I welcomed our first baby at IACH on 02/02/23. We could not have been any more pleased with the care we received from all the staff. They are so kind and knowledgeable. Thank you to the midwives Kyanna and Amanda for walking us through the induction process and answering all of our questions. We want to give a special thank you to Denise who helped me through some of the hardest parts of labor. She is super special and IACH is very lucky to have her. Also thank you to Dr. Long, Michelle, and Macy for taking care of us during delivery. Thank you to Major Moore for being so helpful and knowledgeable in lactation. Fantastic experience: Like any large organization people will come across a couple “dud” medical providers (no different in a civilian facility) but overall I am satisfied with IACH. I have recently seen Colburtson over an issue I have had my whole life and was not being properly treated for. She listened and took my concerns seriously and after over 30 years I am finally headed in the right direction. I had a couple bumps in the road along the way but I am grateful that she crossed my path. Glad to see IACH having quality providers on the staff. PS: The facility is beautiful and their cafeteria is amazing!

Fantastic experience: I always have an absolutely wonderful experience with IACH, with two kids under the age of two I feel everyone goes above and beyond to accommodate us and is understanding with our situation, this past week both of my kids needed wellness check-ups and some shots and labs done, Med Home One got both of them scheduled with the same doctor and they both got seen together! My oldest needed labs done and I was dreading dragging two kids to wait at the labs all day. Little did I know they do them at the Med Home Labs!! Truly as a mom it was the easiest and best experience I’ve had with getting labs done to date. 5 stars on my books❤️

Fantastic experience: S U P E R #PositiveReview for the Incredible midwives at Irwin that helped me each step of the way during my labor & delivery. I delivered my 9lb & 2.6 oz baby boy on 11/30 @ 10:21am & I couldnt be more satisfied with the amazing experience I had with my team. Cassie, Kendra and Kayanna, I appreciate you. I am also grateful for the support my labor photographer provided to me ever step of the way Samantha Esparza A Touch of Wild Photography. Words cant express how grateful I am. She was totally selfless and went above and beyond. I could not have been happier with how motivating and empowering she was. The whole team including my OB ( who i was so thrilled to see in the room) made me feel like a priority, eased my mind when it came to worries and when fear, tiredness ( from pushing) and pain was creeping in, just like true professionals. Dr. Harris-Baugh, is so amazing and have been throughout my whole pregnancy ( i only saw 1 OB for my appointments, i refused to see anyone else ). Her immediate presence definitely aided in ushering my mind at ease. I undoubtedly could not have wished for a better team. I felt safe and genuinely cared for throughout it all

Negative experience: They definitely went all out on how beautiful this hospital was built. Failed to hire decent human beings to work. What do you expect from an army hospital? In 2017 i had my daughter here. The doctor that was supposed to help me deliver just happen to go on vacation that following week. So the midwife in duty which was “ms,brown” delivered my baby. HORRIBLE PERSON all the way around, also after 5 years noticed that on my daughters paper work some of it said “male” lmao…. She is a female*** thank very much. They also took my daughter from me to preform test and such which i didn’t Like, she always came back crying. they were not accommodating what so ever… the nurses i had That day also gave off big “idc vibes”…. Really should’ve had her off base… never returning here again. (-:

Negative experience: Lab and pharmacy takes forever to get anything done. Make sure to tell your leadership that you'll be gone all day so they can get the FTR paperwork ready. Also, my wife is pregnant so we went to the OBGYN for a few regular appointments. The doctors and nurses are knowledgeable BUT due to outdated equipment we couldn't get a good ultrasound picture or heart beat to determine how far along she is, so they said we would get a phone call for a 3rd ultrasound. It never came so we called and they made the appointment. I would recommend going off post if you have the right insurance, they don't like giving referrals so good luck with that

Fantastic experience: One of the best military hospitals. Hospital services are streamlined and is well integrated with TRICARE system. Always clean. Parking garage is a plus!

Mara Kagawa 3 years ago

Negative experience: Came in with strep throat symptoms after-hours. Was tested for covid but there apparently is a national shortage of rapid strep tests. They gave me medication to try and abide the symptoms but because the pharmacy is closed over the weekend, I have to drive to an entirely different location to pick them up. They aren't sure what's wrong with me but I do know that I definitely should have gone to sick call on Monday because this was a pretty much pointless visit.

Negative experience: A two hour wait at lab this morning! Inexcusable. I am a retired health care provider and have worked in three military facilities and a university health clinic. Never has anyone had to wait two hours for labs that took one minute(yes, I timed it) to draw. I scanned my ID at 8:35am and was not called to lab desk until 9:11am. There were three people working desk-one only there to put on arm bands and mess with her hair-yes, she was messing with her hair at desk. I wasn’t called back for blood draw until 10:15am. There were three lab techs calling patients back. I left a voice message for patient advocate with no response. Again, from start to finish, inexcusable!!!

Negative experience: Pharmacy & Lab wait times need looking into. A majority of people waiting were active duty soldiers. This should get the attention of senior leaders to come up with a solution. Other beneficiaries, including retirees also rely on these services that we pay for.

Negative experience: Ms. Colleen Kiefer (obgyn) turned my wife away for being 4 minutes late to an appointment, derailing my own work schedule and our baby's feeding times. They lied directly to us, telling us that she was 10 minutes late. It's time to find an OBGYN off-post.

Negative experience: Tell me why I waited almost 2 hours to speak with Behavioral Health?! Granted I was a walk in and my issues weren't life threatening but they didn't know that. Considering most people with life threatening issues aren't going to schedule an appointment to see someone for something that serious. They'd want immediate help and end up sitting in a waiting room for hours to get that help. Entirely unacceptable

Markus, we’re sorry to hear about your experience. We’d encourage you to speak with our patient advocate, located across the main desk.

Fantastic experience: I have just had my first child at IACH and spent two days in the labor and delivery unit. I have never felt more respected and cared for from hospital/medical staff. They went out of their way to treat me as an individual, and not just a patient. Every nurse was kind and extremely knowledgeable when answering our questions. Diane helped me most of the night/early morning, but was not able to meet our peanut. She went out of her way to come check in on us the following day to see how we were doing. The midwives, anesthesiologists, and all other medical staff told me all my possible medical options and made me feel very aware of what/why they were doing what they were doing. Even the dining staff went out of their way to learn our babies name! For an experience that I was nervous about, I am extremely impressed with the care we received.

Fantastic experience: Dr Haig, Liz, and SPC Sediqee were more than helpful. They talked to me before and after my surgery. Even though I woke up crying (from the anesthesia ) they made me feel really comfortable. I couldn’t have asked for a better team to do my wisdom teeth removal!!

Negative experience: I had a miscarriage here and the ER doctor said to me “Why are you so upset? This happens all the time”. He made what was already the worst day of my life just that much more traumatic and I’ll never forget it.

Negative experience: Worst customer service ever. I'm always waiting hours at the lab. If the demand is too much we should be able to get simple pee tests and blood drawn from our local clinics. I'm so tired of dealing with the lab front desk. Do not recommend. If you can goto the hospital off base, get a referral or something. Also the pharmacy is slow. Just request to get your medicine away from here. I do not recommend this place for labs or pharmacy.

Negative experience: Staff was very quick and helpful. However...WHO, in their right mind, decided the ER and Urgent Care staff can not depense prescriptions?!?! Had to wait another 14 hours AND another hour round trip to a civilian pharmacy to get prescribed meds?!?! Dumbest move you've made yet!!

Negative experience: I have been in the emergency room like 3 times everytime i come they take more than 2 hours to attend to anyone super slow always running low on staff i have been here now 3 hours there was 2 people when i got here there are more than 7 now and i still have not been called back when asked they told me that they dont know how long there just super busy and under staffed this needs to be addressed immediately

Negative experience: Just a mess. How long will we say "Not enough staff", "COVID", or whatever. From inconsistent answers & extremely long wait times, it's bad. Maybe the inpatient stuff is good, but med records, pharmacy, ER, & labs are either poorly managed or understaffed. Took three months for a one month med record turnaround, and I didn't get service till I submitted an ice complaint. Waited for an hour for pharmacy, same for lab. The place is clean though, rad was quick, and the DFAC is the best on post. Update: the reply: patient advocate. If there seems to be a systemic problem, why would I go to the system, that took the time to put a generic answer, that lets this performance happen regularly, to get a resolution? This review is to help manage expectations. Need your records? Expect to be placated with claims of BH taking too long until you do an ICE. I didn't even try to get copies of stuff that happened in the 90 day period in between the request and receiving. I'll sort it with VA the best I can I guess. Labs or pharmacy? Expect to be there for at least an hour, or if the TMC is open, go there.

Negative experience: If you have a labs drop off, expect to be here 30+ minutes. I asked how long it was going to take and was told I have priority. It still lasted longer than 30 minutes and multiple people were called ahead of me. Do not think that you can do a quick drop off if you have somewhere else to be.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend the healthcare team at Irwin Army Community Hospital. We recently experienced fantastic medical care by COL. Kang, Katrina, and Janet at Med Home 3. We had our school physicals completed and everyone was positive, helpful, and showed great professionalism duration the visit. The entire encounter from the check-in to check-out was 100% amazing. Being stationed here at Fort Riley for two years has allowed our family to experience the greatness of Irwin Army Community Hospital on multiple occasions. The leadership team and everyone who works under them have proven time and again that access to high quality medical care is a top priority at Irwin Army Community Hospital. I highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: I would like to THANK Brandy Martin and Kelly ( in appointment line ) basically for saving my life today. I was in a crisis and needed medical attention , there were no appointments available with my PC Dr until the 15 th of June .They went above and beyond to ensure that I was seen today by my PC. I just truly want to thank them from the bottom of my heart . I know that they will be awarded accordingly. This showed me that I wasn’t just a number but a person they cared for . THANK YOU LADIES SO MUCH . You just don’t know how much I truly truly appreciate it . HUGS HUGS HUGS.

Negative experience: This is the third time in the emergency room and it’s utterly preposterous. The wait time is longer than some surgeries probably happening elsewhere. Came here and I was the second person. Yet I was called back after 6 people who got here after me. I’ve been here waiting for 4.5 hours and missing other appointments. The wait time here is beyond disgusting and needs to be addressed. Nurses and doctors visibly taking their time, ignoring the gravity of the situation, and putting no importance on throughput. Ridiculous. Urgent care in Manhattan and Junction City take tricare. DO NOT bother with this disgusting emergency room.

Fantastic experience: I had a hysterectomy on May 11,2022. Everyone was so compassionate and professional, from the ladies at Ambulatory to pre and post op, the nurses and staff, and the nurses on the floor. And Dr Skinner is amazing. My husband and I are so pleased with the whole experience.

Negative experience: Soldiers unless your dying, get a an MRE and keep going because this place is not a hospital it's a YMCA. You're treated worse then homeless people when it come to getting help with anything. People need to know that the Healthcare soldiers get its the same as the veterans around the world. It's non-existent. If you want to have the experience of this hospital. Make all your appointments with Doc McStuffins.

Negative experience: I went to irwin for new glasses and the appointment went nicely. they told me the glasses will be ready in 2 weeks and that theyll give me a call. 3 weeks went by and i received no phone call. so i went an asked them if my glasses were ready at exactly 1200. they lady at the front desk said pick up time for glasses was from 0800-1200 and nobody ever told me this and as a cook in the army going during those time is really hard. and i assumed it was during a specific time because the glasses were in some room with a key. but after giving me a hard time about pick up times she finally got up and went to a cabinet right behind her to get my new glasses. I was really there at 1200 and she was making a big deal about the times that noone told me about. but after that she said that they did call me and i had no voicemail. and i know i have a voicemail because ive received voicemails before i know i have it set up. thats not the only time they said they called when they didnt. when i got my new glasses all of them were bent and uneven and my choice of glasses had the wrong prescription on them. i received 3 and all of them wrong size and bent and one of them wrong prescription. i went back to tell them about it and the lady said i can wait and itll be 40-50 minute wait. or i could go back monday. again as a cook i dont have the time to wait on something that shouldnt have been a problem in the first place.

Negative experience: They are constantly "out of stock" on some extremely vital meds a dependent uses. Wait time to get them in is typically 2-3 days, but won't take refill requests until 1-2 days before out of meds, leaving at least one full day without these vital meds. They'll tell you to come in at 1400, and when you arrive, tell you to come back at 1600, then ask you to come in the next day. IACH pharmacy is the most inconsistent group of individuals I've seen in the military. ER lacks in urgency, and typically have a "just get out of here so I can go home..." attitude. You'll probably spend about 2-3 hours in the waiting room unless brought in by ambulance. If not, you'll get a COVID test and a tylenol before signing discharge papers, for almost any type of incident or ailment you are experiencing. Surgery department, however, is incredible. Their communication is on point, they are very concerned with their patients comfort and care. My surgeon has offered me several methods of contact, on and off duty, if I have any questions or complications.

Anthony Blake 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: This is one of the best military hospitals I have been to. The staff as a whole are genuinely interested in helping others. The wait times are surprisingly short, and the outcomes are great. I have had six different appointments and referrals from here that all went as smooth as medical work can go. Thank you IACH.

Rudy Brooks 3 years ago

Negative experience: Doctors and staff are mostly top notch. My issue is actually getting an appointment in a timely manner. The last four times I have needed an appointment I was told it would be at least two weeks before I could be seen, one of those the wait time was almost a month. I pay for TRICARE and should not have to use the emergency room or urgent care for my primary health care.

Fantastic experience: My son's care in Primary Care is always great and the staff go above an beyond to make sure he is happy and we leave satisfied. The staff across the organization care and always give their best to make it the best possible experience no matter which department I have gone.

Fantastic experience: Been seen at this hospital since 2019, never a dull moment. General surgery and optometry are where my visits are mostly, never had an issue. Staff are very friendly and always happy to attend you. Pharmacy in the lower level are handled by awesome staff, like elsewhere takes time to get your medication. Great thing about it is that can call their number and you can request to be called when your stuff are ready.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Fomin and his team are amazing ! I had to come in to remove both of my toenails. Not only did his personality aid in calming my anxiety, but it made the entire process quick and easy. It was completely painless ! I’m glad I didn’t go anywhere else for this service.

Ronald Townsend 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: A very nice, clean hospital. My appointment was at the optometry clinic. The staff from check in to checkout was friendly and professional. The tech took the time to explain the tests; the doctor took her time and did a full evaluation on my eyes as part of my annual exam, answered questions and explained her findings. Truely made this Retiree feel welcomed and well cared for.

Fantastic experience: Our babies have received care at IACH since being on Fort Riley, and their care has been exceptional. Dr. Lamb & Dr. Kang are amazing! They are both attentive, great listeners, and knowledgeable. Thank you both and all of the staff in your medical homes.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at iach for many years and now work for them. I receive my care here and I have no issues with sending messages to my provider or there staff for medications or appointments. I use the patient portal to schedule my appointment and to refill my medications. Yes there can be a bit of a wait to see someone or to get labs and medications but I know that and plan my time off for that. I go during my lunch break to get meds and do labs . If I really need to see a provider urgently I make an appointment with the after hours clinic staff. I wait just like everyone does, I get no special treatment because I work here.

Shelby Solomon 3 years ago

Negative experience: I have had horrible experiences with IACH. I had a miscarriage and they treated me like garbage. Every time I called I had to retell my story because they didn’t make note of it in my file. And they were extremely rude when I was frustrated with them. I got pregnant again and my husband is deployed. They refused to let me video call with him during my ultrasound and the supervisor of the ultrasound dept. was very rude and tried to argue with me. When I asked her to just leave and stop talking about it, she continued to try to argue. This Army hospital should make arrangements for spouses who are deployed at the time to let them video call their pregnant wives. ESPECIALLY in the wake of a miscarriage where the stress levels are high anyway. They need to, at the very least, train their employees to not be so rude. Extra care should be taken for women who have miscarriages and who need reassurance from medical professionals who should be kind and not extremely rude. The option of having someone in the room with them during a miscarriage should be allowed as well. I was told my husband couldn’t be in the room with me because it was too stressful for me, when in fact, my husband being beside me to hold my hand would have calmed my nerves a great deal. I more often than not feel mistreated and neglected and like an annoyance when I receive “treatment” from Irwin Army Community Hospital. Something needs to change.

Fantastic experience: Today was a great day. I saw Lisa Jones in Nutrition Clinic. I was checked in by Gloria, in a timely manner and saw Lisa before my appointed time. She is wonderful at telling me what I need to do to help myself do better for my health. Just love seeing her. I then saw Mrs. Grisby for a diabetic check. Things were good there. She is not only helping me with my diabetes but my blood pressure. Mrs. Grisby has been good for my health and diabetes staying on track.
